I usually dont enjoy shopping for a car but the crew at American Chevrolet made the process seamless and pressure free. Our salesman Larry H was awesome and made us feel welcome. Felt like we were chatting with a friend who happened to be selling us a car as opposed to the typical car shopping experience. We purchased a 2018 Honda Pilot which was what guided us to the dealership and ended up buying a 2020 Chevy Bolt LT also. Brian in finance was awesome also and very transparent and informative of the fees and what not. Larry will be the first call I make when it comes time to buy another vehicle. Everything was fine staff was attentive and my service was completed timely but at the end the team leader was wiping down my corvette with a used shop cloth. I stopped him as he was doing so. I recently a few weeks ago had the car ceramic coated and a clear protective wrap installed on the entire front end of my car at great cost. I don’t want to get this man in trouble but I was left with a scratch on the passenger front fender. I take great care cleaning this car hand washing only and only use the best microfiber cloths to wipe it down. I am quite upset about this and wish to be compensated. I have great concern in bringing my car there as a result
The cashier was rude and when asked what charges were, she said oil filter was a separate charge from the oil charge service (paying for 2 oil filters). Asked for break pads and tires to be checked and told everything was good (brake fluid was low in reservoir). Took car to get tires check elsewhere and recommend to change soon.
We went to this place to buy an used car with a family member. We found the one we were looking for. After a couple of hours of negotiations we decided to buy the car. Everything went smoothly until they showed us the car fax report. The car had a moderate damage due to a previous accident. I was very glad they showed us this report because to me it showed that the company was honest. We did a last inspection and notice that the spare tire was not there. The salesperson named Jose told us that the car didn’t come with it, but we looked into the car’s manual and it said it comes with it. He said that he will gave us the tire later on in the week, he didn’t. Now, we have to buy it. I am giving only three stars because they didn’t keep their word on giving us the spare tire. Very disappointed.

Carl was excellent. The only reason I didn’t give 10/10 is because I had to walk home due to no shuttle. You really should inform your customers before. Updated review. Came in for two separate oil changes on Saturday and was able to get in and out with each one in under an hour. Great service and thorough explanations were given as to what services were performed. Definitely will be back. My wife even says that from now on we will only look to American Chevrolet for all of our future vehicle needs. We own a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer that has 216,000 miles on it and our 2017 Chevrolet Traverse already has 116,000 miles on it and both continue to serve us well. We know we can rely on Chevy for dependability.

L went in to have a $190 service done on my A/C unit. I came out with a $1450.00 bill! Though this should make the normal person ask why I allowed this, I should point out that the mechanic did find severe issues with my brake shoes, rotors, etc. and thus the huge difference in costs. And in addition I approved this work after it was pointed out the awful condition of my brakes. However, I prefer to have a safe vehicle with excellent brakes, even at that price, than be involved in an accident with higher costs to include medical, healing, legal issues, etc. You just cant put a price on quality work. Period.
I horrible today, it took a whole month for me to get an appointment today at 7:30am.I had my brother (who is a mechanic) make the appointment to avoid any misunderstanding, to my surprise when I arrived this morning my car could not get serviced they did not have the correct equipment was the answer I got. They went ahead and told me to go into the location in Oakdale and assured me they would take me in as a walk in. I wasnt so trusting and that was a good thing! I gave the Oakdale location a call and they dont take anyone without an appointment. I really waited a whole month to just get turned away and to top it off now i have to wait a whole other month. There is no reason why this should be happening at all.
This American Chevrolet dealership is the worst I’ve been to yet. I have took in my vehicle in 10 times now literally 10 invoices later. To now them having my vehicle again for the 11th time and they’re still telling me they can’t fix my vehicle even though it’s a mechanical problem. That they couldn’t figure out for 10 times and taking it there. Now all of a sudden they are saying it’s something to do with my radio and the Chevrolet company to not deal with it. Even though I just bought my vehicle this year so it is a brand new 2020 vehicle. They’re only worry is that they get their rental car back. This place is so horrible I will never buy a Chevy again because of this.

I was 2nd in line for a oil change got there at 730 on Saturday so i could be in the correct lane have been getting my oil changed at american for 20 years i know what lane to be in. By the time you opened the line was into the street, the tec Moved my truck to a diffrent bay at the end of the line!!!!!! I was there for 4 hours and 45 minutes! And gave me an excuse on why he couldnt rotate the tires. 2nd one there last one to leave.
I was first in line on a Thursday morning. I got in and out in a timely manner. They were very informative about the condition of my 2017 Silverado and the service completed on my truck. My only criticism would be, as a 6”2” man, that the tech who drove my truck from the service bay to the pick up area is to move the seat back to close to its original position. If I wasn’t paying attention I would have hit my knee on the dash. Thank you for all the hard work to service my truck.

Very friendly prompt service as you pull up. Took great care to protect the inside of the vehicle with plastic.Service team and cashiers all very nice.One suggestion. Even though it did not happen on this visit be careful how much disinfectant spray you are spraying around the car. I like most am pretty particular about my car and found over spray on my windshield and heavy saturation on the door panels to the point to where it was difficult to remove after it dried.Overall very happy though.

I made an appointment online. I took my car in for maintenance. Service was prompt and rates were reasonable.-1 star due to the lack of a shuttle. They cited COVID as the reason, but in April of 2021 I’m not buying it. (And if they were so cautious, I’d have expected to see fewer masks below noses.)

Every experience I have had with this place has been terrible I cannot speak for sales but the lady I spoke to in service a few weeks ago was extremely rude and just wasn’t very helpful. Now yesterday I called the parts department and I couldn’t believe how disrespectful the parts guy was at this point I didn’t want to do business with them so I asked for the part number and he refused to give me a part number I hung up and called Tracy Chevrolet at that point and they gladly helped the parts were a little cheaper and they actually gave me a part number.

I struggled trying to decide if I wanted to leave a bad review for this dealership. I think the staff here is great and they made my car buying process easy. However, the car they sold me is terrible. I purchased a 2015 SS camaro 2 years ago. It had low mileage, and I was told that the vehicle was a lease (lease was over) and thats why it was for sale. In the 2 years I’ve had the car the shifter broke, the transmission failed (had to be replaced), and the engine failed (also had to be replaced). This was over $15,000 worth of work!! I’m so glad I bought the extended warranty, but now I’m honestly afraid to drive the car around. I just dont feel safe in it. I’m hoping I can sell the car and not lose any more $$ on it. I definitely wont return to this location when I buy my next car.

I finally walked over after over an hour and they said I would be next. They fixed my car quickly. Seemed my car was forgotten. I was there for 2 hours and was the only car waiting when I arrived.

The service on my vehicle was completely fine, but the service at the cashier was frustrating and infuriating. I was under the impression that I would be called on my phone when my car was done getting serviced, but when I saw it parked in the lot, I realized that was not the case. I must have waited an extra hour on a Saturday in the cafe without any direct notification that my car was ready. Furthermore, when it was time to pay, I was told that I could not use the coupon I had because the VIN was for my husbands truck. The coupon that enticed me to drive the 20 minutes out to American Chevrolet instead of the 5 minutes it would have taken me to go to SpeeDees for a 20 minute service was denied to me. When I got home, I read the fine print on the coupon and it states that in fact I am eligible to use the coupon since I live at the same address as my husband.This experience was very disappointing and I will honestly consider going elsewhere the next time I need service, which would save me money for an oil change.

I wouldn’t wast my time here. After making an appointment a week in advance for 8:30 a.m, I left the vehicle informed them I would need it back same day. Had to call them back at 5:20 to found out they did nothing to my vehicle, the part that I needed they didn’t have, and would have to be in the shop overnight. I had told them when I dropped it off I needed it back the same day, and I had work and other engagements the following day. What is the purpose of making an appointment and taking your car in to get serviced if it’s just going to sit around all day and wait for someone to call and ask about it. I’ve had all my oil changes and work done here, won’t be going back

Ive had excellent experience on past visits. This one was very poor. Bad communication by the sales department... didnt call when they did they said they would two different times (I had to call) . Had to keep the truck overnight for a very minor repair because they obviously started too late to get parts (4pm)Then I had to wait 20 minutes after checking out for them to bring the truck out the next day and my auto steps didnt work. They got that fixed but then just walked away without saying a word about the poor service. The truck didnt get a wash... no thank you for your business... nothing.Update: David from the dealership called and we talked through my experience. I do believe they care about their customers and that this was a one off experience. I will use them again and report back. Every business can have a employee that needs to take customer service more seriously. Hopefully this young man has learned enough to at least fake it till he makes it. I appreciate Davids follow-up!

Embarrassed and insulted -John Haley - service manager, lacks skills in the customer service portion of his position to a staggering disposition of embarrassment of the company as a whole. To be clear, my father and I have been loyal customers for over twenty years and have never been treated like this by any company nor any other till this day. This is embarrassing for Chevrolet and indeed will be a lasting stain of their failing reputation for us and many others in our community once this experience is shared. Chevrolet had one chance to make this right to upstanding customers that have been both loyal and kind for two decades. What was done is long to explain - yet in short the service department of Chevrolet had a delay of over three full weeks with our vehicle being left in the shop. No loaner vehicle was provided - not was any assistance given to help with this disposition. The full length of time without a vehicle lasted over’ four weeks, and when finally the delay was over, no mention of length of time taken, no thanks for being patient, and no discount was offered for the inconvenience that was caused by there own poor handling of there inventory and ordering process and setbacks due to delays in shipping - which is never he customers burden to bare. Once we heard that there would be no discount offered I spoke with John Haley personally and he promised to look into admitting “three weeks was unacceptable and should be addressed.” Three days later John called back and said things would be taken care of and thanked me for my time and hurried off the phone, no adjustment price was mentioned. Come to today - over five weeks later - and there was no discount offered and John was nowhere to be found to discuss this with. Summarily - the car was also not even washed - which is standard operating procedure regardless. My father and I paid and left without a fuss holding our dignity and respectfulness intact. This has been laborious and aggravating to not have a vehicle for over five weeks - the cost for a rental car for five weeks alone is more than the cost of the services we just paid for and not a word of care for customer service or customer satisfaction in sight. Genuinely disappointed in American Chevrolet on Mchenry Ave Modesto Ça, and truly disappointed in the empty suited position held by John Haley the helpless service manager who indeed fails at his position and is genuinely an embrasement to his company and to his team. He is not a professional nor a talented leader - and his team feels the lack of accountability in his failed leadership. Over twenty years of loyalty as a customer - and this is unacceptable behavior from any company in any circumstances. I had hoped John would make it right and gave him the opportunity to make it right twice - and he failed both times. It appears Chevrolet allows this sort of behavior - it is a shame indeed. Be watchful of this branch - it has gone down in customer service and appears to be fine with the sinking morale and drop in service excellent standards it once upheld. Consider somewhere else next time - Cheers everyone ~

I scheduled a 50,000 mile appointment with service advisor Carl Wiegand and hadeverything completed and car ready for me ahead of time promised and the actualcost of repairs less than the estimate quoted to me. Your company is lucky to havea service advisor like Carl Wiegand (I have done business with Carl since the mid1980s).

Service done on 5/5/21 for my Trail Blazer.Very bad experience with service dept. I was dealing with Service Adv. Brad Hall, very obvious that he wasnt truthful. I dropped my Trail Blazer for warranty fix or check, explained to him that the RPM was reaching above normal most of the time i start the Trail Blazer in the morning. So i dropped the truck in the afternoon before the day of its appointment, so that it can be checked in the morning. He said he will call me as soon as they have a diagnosis. the next day i waited and waited, but heard nothing from Brad, so I texted him at 11:22am asking for an update, but received no response. At 2:23 pm called this time, just left a message to the receptionist and she said she will let Brad know that I called, (she said he will be back from his lunch in 10 mins). Gave him enough time, but never heard from him, so I called him again at 3:02 pm and finally was able to talk to him, he was telling me that tech did not find any code, so i said im on my way to pick it up, (he should have called me already for that finding, but he didnt) he said truck will be ready in 25 mins. left the house and got to the dealership, from the dealership parking lot we saw the truck outside the garage bldg with doors and hood opened, but no mechanic attending to it. Talked to Brad and he said he is finalizing the paper works. I went back to the parking lot and stood there for 10 to 15 mins roughly without seeing any mechanic attending to it. Went back inside and talked to Brad, he told me the same thing again. It took me over an hour before getting the paper works and Brad was telling some alibis that Tech had to recheck the truck. What probably happened is that the time i was able to spick to him he right away arrange a tech to right away look into my truck, (that is why it was just outside the garage bldg. with hood and doors opened, but no mech attending to it). Brad was telling me that the roaring sound thats caused by hi rpm is normal, I know its not because I know my Trail Blazer Ive been driving it since 2002. And that hi RPM is now on and off since they replaced the fan clutch, not consistently quite. They did not do a good job therefore it is not worth it to do business with American Chevrolet. Beware. By the way some of the stuff were great and nice like Angel.
