The guy working suggested that I needed brakes and a few other things and I said we were getting them done elsewhere or my husband would do it. He told me that they rely on these others items that the oil change is to get you there and that we should consider taking ALL our business to same place! Very upsetting since I have taken my vehicles here for years. I understand times are tough but come on!!!
Quick and excellent service. Fixed AC and then diagnosed incorrect/slightly misfiring plugs and recommended a tune up. Normally I’m wary of upsells, but they were absolutely right (car was overdue in maintenance schedule) and their prices were competitive. Also, I felt no pressure, just a recommendations based on the evidence of their basic inspection, which tracked with items overdue on the maintenance schedule.A nice balance of a decent price, accurate information, quick service (go on a Wednesday or Thursday), and no high pressure sales.

Sent my truck in to fix an AC leak. After $970 they tell me its all good to go. Had a super fast turn around and everything was done in a day.. next day only the rear ac works not the front so intake it back, they tell me its an actuator issue and the part was over 200$ and labor would bring it close too $500 total for another repair. I say no, then they tell me they zip tied the blend door so it will stay cold and i take it home again. Next morning the ac is blowing completely hot again as if the heater is on. Third trip down. They find the new leak they caused. Kept it all day, swore they baby sat it and they were 100% sure it was fixed and taken care of.. oh and thats after they charged me $75 for the “zip tie” job they did. NOW i will be missing work and not having a vehicle because im going to have to take it back a fourth time because its acting like all of the refrigerant has leaked out again. WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD WITH A SHOP SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ANYWERE ELSE!!!! Will update once they “fix” the problem they have created
Ive used them before for oil changes, not the cheapest place but seem to do a good job. This time they suggested a cabin air filter replacement to which I agreed, however I didnt know they would charge me $39.99 for an air filter thats costs $12-$15 retail. Totally ridiculous, and when I questioned it they say thats the price in our system didnt dispute that it was outrageous, but wouldnt change it.

So its been over a month since my Brother took his Mobility Van in for repairs. Extremely expensive quote for work, I live else where and was paying the bill so I had them perform the repairs. Next day Van caught on fire. I asked Keith the Store Manager to have the District Manager call me, no response. 3 times now Ive spoken with customer service, 3 times now they said someone would get back to me, what a joke. So know I have contacted the BAR..Bureau Of Automotive Repair filing a complaint. Meineke is hiding, cant find a number to Corporate...Nation wide Company treating my disabled Brother poorly. Now the Breaks are acting up, apperently the $50 inspection dosent cover Breaks. Yelp should have negative stars, this place deserves a few.
Didn’t precisely show the problem with the misfire. Didn’t say it was a vacuum leak, because I had codes P0171, P0174 along with the misfire code. Didn’t diagnose a vacuum leak and said it’ll cost me around $3400 to fix the misfire!!!!! Never going back again.
I showed up with no appointment. The staff was very welcoming and professional. They checked out my van and topped off some fluids that were low. They used a multipoint inspection code and it didn’t even charge me!! I’m going back for sure.
I called to schedule an appointment, before I drove there. The tech who answered the phone took my vehicle information and agreed to service my 2017 GMC Sierra. He told me to drop off the truck. When I showed up for the appointment, he said that they didn’t stock that type of Freon. My wife and I drove (2) vehicles times 20 minutes each way =40 x 2= 80 minutes-1 hour and 20 minutes of wasted time!This was the second time I called to verify that they stocked the Freon needed for my vehicle.I called last week and they told me that they did have that particular Freon, but were booked. There’s definitely some miscommunication between the counter people and technicians.
I took my car in yesterday to get a routine oil change, and have my tires rotated. I arrived around 8AM. The front door had a “mask required “ sign, yet neither of the two employees who were attempting to assist me were wearing masks, and neither made attempts to social distance. After ten minutes of fiddling with the computer system, they finally found my information and told me that it would be around 45 minutes until the service was completed. There was only one other car that had arrived for service at that time. I waited outside, which was fine (but cold 45f out). I took about a ten minute walk to Starbucks to grab a coffee, and walked back to see my car on the lift, and the person working on it taking a smoke break and talking to another technician who was working on a car at the back. I thought nothing of it, but he proceeded to take 6 more smoke breaks over the course of nearly 90 minutes to finish my cars maintenance. I was then told that I needed an air filter and wiper blades, but they had just been replaced and when I saw the blades when I got in my car to leave, they looked like they had been cut a bit. They then did not process the coupon that I had brought for my service; but it is a good thing I caught it. They then left the floor guard paper in my car with the windows rolled down; remember it was 45F out. Overall, a very frustrating experience, I have been here nearly 10 times for vehicle service in the past and have never had such a bad experience.

The techs found my issue in 20 min. I had taken my truck to over 6 major service companies and a few mechanic friends no one including myself ever thought my vibration problem that was coming from the front (or felt like it was) could be a bad drive line. Was told it will be an easy fix and that repairs could be done in an hour or so. Even the repair will be decently priced. I was thinking upwards of 1k dollars as is my normal estimate with a chevy vehicle and I was told its a few hundred depending on what carrier bearing I have. That was a big relief to my ears!!
I drove to Modesto to buy a car from a private seller. I met seller at Meineke to get an inspection of the car. I was seen before my apt time, the guy at the front desk was very nice. I payed a nice price of $20. When i met Marcel the man who was doing the inspection, i just knew i came to the right place! He was so sweet and has a very pleasant aura about him. He is very honest! I would definitely recommend this shop for any service! Thank you guys at Meineke!

I was so happy to take my car there . I took my car for oil change the manager told me the car need needed a tun up. Been take my car to mechanic but I guess he never did a tun up.😊
I had an apt at 9 am, but I stood inside by the counter for about 10 minutes before I could find anyone. Someone even came through the door, looked at me, and then walked back out without saying a word to me. I had to wander around the work area outside before I found someone to help me.Also, in the past, the staff have added a coupon for services for me. Sometimes I didnt even have to ask for one. This time I added a coupon at the time I made the apt, but as I was paying the staff member told me it wasnt added. I tried getting it on my phone, but because of bad wi-fi or something, I couldnt bring it up. The guy just stood there and watched me struggle, when he could have easily accessed it on his computer. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable. I ended up paying full price. Im not sure I will go back because of that.

Hood bolt came off and when I called them they said it was already missing so they put one in that (kinda fit) even though I opened my hood hundreds of times and never was it missing. So the bolt they put on was not the correct size I opened my hood and it broke and bent my hood latch. And also I have a bad leak from a radiator hose that wasnt put on correctly. George was super cool but Im not happy at all!!!!
Very friendly and willing to explain issue in detail. Also went above and beyond to recommend parts needed for a repair. Overall I will be returning as my car needs it.

We stopped at the shop because the car was making a strange noise. Turns out a little kitten had wedged herself in next to a belt and got caught. Marcel and the guys were wonderful and got her out. They put the car back together and replaced the air filter which was also an issue. We will be going back. Thanks guys for all your help

First the technician put regular oil in my car and completely ignored the synthetic oil and filter I had on the front seat which is where I always put it when I go in for an oil change. I reminded the person at the desk that I wanted my own oil and filter put on and where it was located on the front seat next to the the automotive technician so when he got in the car to drive it in the shop there was no way they could miss it and still decided not to put it in my vehicle. The man at the desk assured me it wouldn’t be a problem using my own oil and filter which I’ve done there for years and still didn’t do it. Ive brought In my own oil and filter every oil change for the last two years at the same facility and have never had a problem until now. I reminded the clerk at the desk and he assured me my oil and filter would be put in my vehicle and it wasn’t. When I asked him about it he made light of the situation and said the oils on us this time not knowing at the time they put regular not synthetic in my vehicle. I had to go back two weeks later and pay to have them to do the job right and put the oil and filter that I provided for them in. They always say it’ll take about an hour wait which ends up being three hours to get an oil change. And every time I ask about it they say there short handed and only have two mechanics working at the moment. Not once or twice but every time I ask I get the exact same response. Then I asked to have my tires aired up while I was there. The max psi is 40 and that’s the amount of air I want in my tires. I didn’t think that was to much to ask. The first time when they screwed up my oil they put 35 psi in the tires I just asked to air up the tires and didn’t specify the tire pressure I wanted in the tires so I just let it go and said nothing about it. The following visit when they put the correct oil in I didn’t ask to have my tires aired up because I aired them up earlier in the day. And as I was leaving looking over the paperwork again they lowered the tire pressure to 35 when I just had them set at 40 psi. And when I confronted the desk attendant about it he informed me that the tires should be at 35 psi apparently he knows more about the tires then the tire company. And when I said I wanted the tires at 40 psi instead of the 35 I was given some ridiculous excuse that I personally think he just didn’t want to get his hands dirty to put in the tire pressure that I not only wanted but was the correct pressure for the tire. I’m very disappointed with the service I received the ridiculous wait time and a young desk manager that feels it’s perfectly acceptable to not only argue with customers but not even bother to make sure his technicians followed through with the job At hand. This facility never used to run like this and I hope they make the necessary changes before they start to loose business.

We’ve have been going to the same shops for at least a couple years now. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing the same mechanics (John and Mike) at the front desk. They’ve always tried to give us an honest deal and complete the work in timely fashion. They’ve been great with recommendations as following the car manufacturers replacement schedule and letting us know their suggestions for parts. We have our first baby on the way, so it was very reassuring having them do the work for us. Now that our family is bigger, we appreciate the trust in our local dealer.
I went in for them to change my brake booster And they messed up now my brakes dont work argued with them for over a month theysaid they returned the left me numerous times on the side of the road gave them multiple times to fix my car and they havent corporates office side its independent owned the owner should have contacted me they sent them emails its sad the mess up someones car and does fix it and lie and say they sent you a refund filed a Complaint with the bureau of automated repair

Usually come here for my oil changes. They are always honest and quick. They always let me know what they would recommend being fixed right away versus things that can wait or are just precautionary, but at the same time dont try to force any repairs. All the workers are super nice and always willing to answer any questions.

Small shop with big hearted people. I’m over 1,000 miles away from home and a very expensive/important part of my car needed replaced. They allowed me to buy the part myself so I could get it cheaper and the labor was very quick and cheap. The mechanic fixed not only what we paid for but also an airbag that came loose into our floor board with no charge. They were all very friendly, quick, & understanding. & PET FRIENDLY (:

They had a little more then an hour until close with no cars being worked on and I was still sent away.
Tried to up the sale on me. Of course tried taking advantage of the female. Said both front and rear brakes, plus both my front rotors wear cracked. Lol took in for second opinion as I always do at least one other quote because Im a female. And of course front brakes still had 2mm left rotors are fine and only rear brakes need new pads. Lost me for good. No more of my business logic at my trust.
I’m giving the 2 stars only for the guy that does the work on the back. He was very nice and polite. I went in for brakes to get an estimate and he was very nice when he drove my truck around and handed me back the keys. I did not get his name but he’s one of the guys that works in the back one of the mechanics. The guy in the front seem to be bothered that I did not go with the brakes I was having a very serious family emergency I needed to get an estimate but then couldn’t get a hold of my husband to confirm with him. The guy at the front register was the reason I did not go back.
Made an appointment 2 days ago at 12pm, show up at my appointment time and was told “there are 4 cars ahead of you, leave the vehicle with us and we’ll try to squeeze you in”What’s the point of making an appointment then? My appointment got treated as a walk in? I understand we all get busy but that’s the purpose of making an appointment to have that time slot and time for the appointment to diagnose open right?I left my job early to attend the appointment, wasted my time making an “appointment”.Taking my vehicle elsewhere, thanks meineke.
I was traveling on hwy 99 Friday late afternoon when my car begin to give me problems. I was told by an employee at o’Reilly’s that my alternator was bad. Great! It’s late Friday afternoon, I’m in a strange town 5 hours from home so what am I going to do?I was referred to Meineke car care center @ 1641 north carpenter rd Modesto,ca. I had my car towed there on Saturday morning with myself and my dog riding along. Danny & John welcomed me and my dog like we were old friends, make as comfortable as they could and set about to fix my car. 3 1/2 hours later I was back on the road and headed home.My car is running like a top! A big shout out to say thank you for your excellent service. It is greatly appreciated.

Their service was great until we had a part installed and it failed during our trip. Cost another 400.00 to get it fixed out of town and have been put off since June 26th trying to get our money back from them for the failed part, which we took back to them at that time. Not even a call back with update. Not happy!
We called at the end of the day because our cars battery light was on. I suspected a bad alternator which they confirmed. They advised we don’t drive on the bad alternator. They ordered a new one and got us in to fix first thing the next morning. We are on a long road trip so getting back on the road so quickly was such a relief. We stayed in a hotel a 20 minute walk away. They were professional and met their quote for the job even though it seemed it was a bit more difficult than they had expected. Great experience!
Ive never had a bad visit @ this location! All of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable & do a great job to educate me on what is going on with my vehicles!! I feel confident ANY time I have my cars serviced here. They provide thorough inspections & are very honest. I dont feel like I am being sold to on repairs I dont actually need. The last visit I had with them, I took my car in for front & rear brake pad replacement (Pepboys told me I was @ 15%). They had everyone who was working look @ the brakes to be sure, but they were @ 40%!!! So I didnt even need any brake service! I left Meineke with peace of mind (instead of worrying-like when I was incorrectly told I had only 15%!!!). I will be taking my cars here any time I need work done...these guys are honest & trustworthy!! Thank you very much for your hard work😊

Took my F150 here due to a bad oil leak. Hasnt leaked since. Also took my wifes honda civic here due to an oil leak she had serviced at a shady automotive establishment. This Meineke location was able to identify root cause issue which was the oil pan hardware was over torqued by the previous automotive repair shop. Causing a warp in the pan lip and pinching of the gasket. They repaired/replaced them and also tightened up a loose belt to eliminate squealing. This establishment does a great job, hats off to the mechanics and management.
They replaced my radiator. So far so good 👍

The guy at the front desk was extremely helpful and provided many options for what needed to be done to my girlfriends car. Went in for something simple and got a small list of things wrong with the car. I went over everything at home and they were all correct. They fixed everything in one day!

Plain honest business, no pressure to get what you dont need. Very cordial especially with foul mouth customers. They jumped to conclusions claiming that they were the ones at fault. They were not and customer didnt apologize, go figure
I take my car in for a inspection for oil leak. In one minute, the tech found the oil drain lug is so loose that explain all the oil is gone since oil change done 1 day ago by another oil change service shop. The tech write down a 3 lines report so I can get a refund from the previous oil change service which I did. I definitely highly recommend Meineke CarCare @ North Carpenter.
Always friendly & helpful. They never want to sell us more then we need for both of our vehicles. The honor coupons when they apply and they are very honest. They also have the lowest rates around.

Took my daughters car in for AC service. It was just low on Freon, but they also did a dye test for leaks! I did not know that was included. They also saw it was past due for an oil change and I had that done also. John and Dan are super cordial and answer all your questions. No appointment and they got me in and out in a couple of hours. Cant beat the price and service!

They charged me $50 to put in a new battery an the guy said it’s goin to take 30 minutes to do but it took less than 10 but he still charged me $50. He also said he gave me a discount and that I should have been 120 lmfao what a joke

Was told after having a substantial amount of work done that I had a free oil change on my next visit the guy told me it would be in the computer. I called about 2 months later to redeem my oil change and was told that would never happen that they would have given me something to prove it . Well this guy did not pull me up on the computer was very short with me and some what rude. I will never return

They were very helpful. The Nissan Dealership told me I needed Brake Pads and Rotors but I informed the dealer Meineke had recently done my brake pads. Mercel at Meineke inspected the brakes and rotors and said they did not need replacement but had seen that one of the Cotter pins on the axel was to small. He went above and beyond to get the proper size pin and installed it free of charge for me. He explained that he believed the brake noise was caused from a vacuum leak in the brake booster system. Being it may be covered under my Power train Warranty with Nissan, I have to take it to the dealership. I feel the 3 men that helped me at Meineke went above and beyond to make sure I wasnt taken advantage of by the dealership in showing me that the pads and rotors are within a safe standard. I will definitely recommend them in the future.
If I can give this shop negative stars I would!!! I’ve gone to this place many times and many times they been respectful, but this last time I went there own employees were caught stealing from my personal belongings in my car and still couldn’t own up to it!! THEY ARE THIEVES!!! Manager John Curry needs new staff and needs to learn how to put his foot down! I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO MEINEKE! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NO ONE GOES TO THE SHOP ON CARPENTER AND BLUE GUM BECAUSE THEY SEARCH AND STEAL FROM YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS!!
