Took my car in for a timing chain and head gasket. Staff is friendly and seem to be knowledgeable. Well, my car was a different story. Took almost 3 months (I didnt bug too much because I had a child on the way and I didnt need the car). Get the car back and it feels peppy. Drive the car and check engine light comes on and I go back and get it cleared. Tech tells me that maybe a sensor is going bad, come back if it does. Well, light comes back on and I park the car for a few days. Unrelated maybe related, the radiator goes bad. This time I take it to the dealer and they tell me the wrong hardware and cross threaded fasteners were found on the front clip as well as the timing was advanced. Now I paid over $4000 for this repair and it wasnt done right. So Im taking it upon myself to do the job right and I am finding wrong and missing hardware, loose bolts or bolts wound down with an impact. Whats a torque wrench?? I will not be going back to get any work done in the future. I am quite disappointed and will not let them touch the car. I dont trust the workmanship of whoever worked on the car. I suspect multiple people and thats why quality is an issue. I guess live and learn.

Will always go back here. Had a flat tire and the owner said their machine was broken. He didn’t want me driving on it so he sent out two guys to help me. (Taylor and Noah). Took amazing care of me. Sweetest company ever. Highly recommend.

Take your car here! A review from an ex mechanic.Im not one to write reviews, but Im a strong believer in giving credit when credit is due. Typically I work on my own vehicle because Ive found that the service and quality of work from so called specialist is usually no where close to the amount of $$ I fork up. Needless to say, I was a little hesitant to take my unique 99 Eurovan camper to G&M when I started to experiencing catastrophic axle failure on way home from Big Bear to Oakland. To make matters worst I already knew that this axle is no longer supported (VW doesnt even have a part number for it!). Knowing this was going to be a monumental task I started to call around to see if I could find someone that even remotely knew what I was talking about. Thankfully G&M came to my rescue! It was clear they knew exactly the dilemma I was in without needing to explain it to them.The quality of service from the moment I they picked up the phone to the moment I left was TOP NOTCH! They went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of during every step of the process. From arranging a rental car, rides, to recommendations, these guys did everything without asking. Oh and did I mention they located a part that would work to get me home and got it their the same day! These guys crushed it! If I ever move to So-Cal I will definitely be taking my vehicles here! My sons car died broke down across the street from the shop. It was on a Saturday and they we closed but I saw David and told him about my situation. David took the car and diagnosed it on Monday when they opened. Turns out it needed a new key and fob and gave me some recommendations on some other work. He ended taking care of me and the shop was in constant communication with me throughout the whole process. This was my first time trying their service and am very pleased

Bad service, bad advice and shady moves. Google removed my last post because the owner is claiming they didnt have any service records with my name on it. Look for Luis Estrada in your service records. Remember me? Im the guy with the white Scion TC. First you let Nancy drive around with bad brakes. Every other mechanic checks their customers brakes. Then you advised against fixing a check engine light. Then I brought my car in and my gas cap was replaced with an old one. Windshield wipers also swapped out. My automatic windows stopped rolling down and the whole car started shaking really badly. It was just an oil change guys. What happened? Glad we moved on found better prices and honest people.Highly recommend against this establishment.

Amazing customer service!My New Beetle is now out of warranty, so when I experienced a problem I called G&M as my first stop for repairs. I have been a happy customer for more than 20 years. I trust Robert and the shop employees; they are honest and have fair prices.

They are always willing to help and they show me the work they need to do or worn out parts that were removed. They have always come in cheaper then others when I call around and the bill usually is less expensive then what they quoted me. I have recommended this shop to my family and friends numerous times and they have thanked me afterwards.

I can confirm everything Balam said about this place. This place was good at first until they became shady. Robert advised against fixing my check engine light. He said, its too expensive and not necessary as long as you do regular maintenance. That couldnt be further from the truth. When I needed to know my car was having a real problem there was no way of knowing because the light was constantly on. That caused the head to be blown. They did some work for $2000 but still didnt fix my car. They wanted $5000 to fix the problem that they pretty much caused. Then Balam (formerly Luis Estrada check your records) brought his car and they caused many problems to his car. Our new mechanic fixed all your mess for half the price. Bottom line is stay away from here.

I have taken my VW Jetta to G&M for a number of years. The quality of service is seamless, from the front desk to the technicians in the garage. Their diagnostic findings are shared in customer-speak and they clearly explain your options - what needs to be attended now and why and what, if anything could wait and for how long if budget restraints prevent doing the entire job then. Ive only had good experiences with the service at G&M. Theyve been fair and professional. Oftentimes as a female I feel taken advantage of when getting my car fixed. But at G&M they are always fair and take the time to make sure I understand what is wrong with my car and what needs to be done for repairs. I highly recommend their service.

There are only a few people I trust to work on my Porsches, my dad and the folks here at G&M Automotive Import Service! Joe, installed the clutch and during the installation he torqued every bolt in the rear end to factory specs, something the dealer doesnt even do! These guys are beyond talented and they blow my mind in how much attention they spent on detail and on their knowledge in European cars! If you own a German car, they are the people to goto! Now that my baby is fixed, road trip to San Diego!

I called to have OEM Bosch spark plugs and coil packs installed in my vehicle but they wont do it. I can only assume that the inability to rip me off from padded parts price is why. But they have the right to refuse service. Though I try to support local business but this is one business that I will not support anymore.

Rip off! Spent $5200 for a rebuilt engine. Idiot lights still on and this establishment is unable to diagnose the problem. In the meantime, the car sits because It wont pass a smog inspection. These people wont even answer my calls. If youre looking for integrity, go elsewhere!! These people are scumbags!!!

Would love if they dont conduct their business on the curb like if if their property, the street is not their parking lot
