This is definitely more of an industrial facility, dont expect a cafe or something even remotely resembling one. Its a little out of the way, but if you want to buy some freshly roasted beans right from the source, you cant beat this place. My beans were literally roasted yesterday according to the bag.The retail counter only allows 1 person in at a time, and rightfully so; its tiny. I knew what I wanted, requesting the euro espresso beans. I was cheerfully greeted, made my purchase, and recieved my bag o beans and was on my way.

Hands down the best coffee money can buy (if you are into flavored beans).I dont understand the handful of bad reviews, but Ive been drinking Black Powder for over a year now. I do buy my beans locally from small coffee shops, so maybe that helps. I have two burr grinders at home that I use for the beans. The beans, no matter what flavor, has a strong aroma and taste once brewed. I dont even use cream/milk and sugar because of this. Any guest Ive ever had over to taste their coffee has been extremely impressed. I hope Black Powder overtakes some of the more popular brands in Charlotte.Currently drinking Blueberrys and Cream and its absurdly good.

Just received my first box of black powder keg cups good morning blend. Ordering was easy, shipping was fast.I am a early riser and this was a great cup of coffee to start the day. Smell was great, taste was great. I will be ordering again.

Updates: The bourbon coffee scent was a bit strong for me, but my team at work enjoyed it. Be careful if your work environment is a bit sensitive because this coffee will give you bourbon breath 😲😁😂. I didnt try it because I didnt like the scent, which could be because I had a migraine that day and was feeling sick. The next day, I brought in the Michigan Dark Cherry... Smelled so good! I drank it black with lots of sugar in ice, and it was good but it would be more like dessert if I had some soy milk. The Grandmas hot chocolate was yummy. I love a lot of sugar, and feel it is not sweet enough for me. But it is better for me with less sugar. I enjoyed it just the way it is. I really enjoyed trying the Black Powder Coffee.Upon arriving at Black Powder Coffee... suite 10 is actually around the corner. When I got out of my car, I can smell the aroma of the coffee. The young lady who helped me was somewhat helpful. She hasnt tried all the coffee available, and not knowledge in all of them. Fortunately, she was able to answer most of my questions, and she was very helpful. The coffee is sold as whole beans, but they do offer the grinding service... For drip and for French Pressed. They had the 14kt Gold for sampling. Im not a bean water drinker, prefer my coffee with cream and sugar and dessert like... The 14Kt Gold coffee was too bitter for me. I bought a bag of dark cherry and hot chocolate for me. I also got a bag of bourbon infused for my team at work, and a bag of reserved Ethiopian for my director who loves Ethiopian coffee. I hope he will like this one.

We’ve been buying coffee beans from Black Powder for years. When we moved away from the area we did a subscription so we could continue to enjoy the great fresh roasted coffee beans. Excellent array of flavor profiles and they sell their beans in 1 lb. bags instead of the 12 ounce bags you get from many other roasters. A great value! This place is a gem for coffee lovers in North Carolina and beyond.

In the midst of the pandemic we started working from home. Black Powder Coffee has becoming a fixture in the kitchen. Love it. We always have multiple flavors ready to brew. Michigan Dark Cherry, Peanut Butter, and Blueberries and Creme are some of our favorites.

Kahula & Creme K Cups DO NOT work properly in Keurig K Supreme coffee maker. Buyers beware.I will never buy coffee from this company again after emailing them about their cups not working properly in my machine. The president who emailed me back was very rude and tried to tell me that Keurig only puts one needle hole into the cup after I showed her photo evidence of the watery un-tasteful blend. I asked them to make it right before I wrote my review. She discounted my experience and also implied I did not have a Keurig. I later responded to her that I DO INDEED have a Keurig and sent photographic proof. All that she offered was free shipping off of an order of their overpriced coffee. Yeah, no thanks. I already had an 11 dollar loss off of your 12pk that 6 or 7 pods were worthless.Hopefully their beans are better, I only have experience with the pods. However after dealing with their customer service this is one company I will never purchase from again.

We found Black Powder Coffee when we moved to Greensboro from New Orleans. We have whole beans shipped to us weekly. I absolutely love their coffee! We’ve tried three different kinds and have been impressed with all of them.

We are so happy to have found Black Powder Coffee. The coffee is outstanding, smooth and delicious. We have tried a few different blends and flavors. The Italian blend is our daily go to coffee. The snickerdoodle and the new Kailua and cream are both amazing as well. Try everything, you won’t be disappointed.

I think this is excellent coffee! Ive really enjoyed it during covid. It is perfectly ground for french press. The decaf is excellent, and a great price, I think, for water processed.

I have been there several times now and got to go in back and see how they do their magic with the coffee beans. The owner and all there are easy to talk to and happy to explain their craft. I specifically asked if it was compatible with 2.0 machine and was told it was. However it is not - you have to hack it to bypass the Keurig 2.0 license-lockout feature. I was able to make it work by using the old cut the top off a licensed K-cup hack, and when that was done the reusable pod makes a great silt-free cup of coffee and is very easy to clean.

I love this coffee! I prefer dark roasts and One Eyed Jack and the Italian Blend are exquisite. Kenya is a great one as well. I may not be an experienced coffee aficionado but I do enjoy grinding beans and tasting fresh coffee. Ive tried a lot of local stuff and I have never once had a bitter batch or experienced off flavors in the 6lbs Ive gone through to date. Priced great for craft coffee. They have flavored beans, sample packs, cold brew, and even have tea and recently some apple cider. Friendly staff, subscription program and will even do a tasting and tour! Definitely worth the trip!

This is some fine coffee! Have had several orders shipped up to Chicago and it is delicious and so fresh! My orders arrive so quickly and there are so many wonderful choices. Favorites include Peru and Peaberry varieties, but have also loved trying the Black Obsidian and the Autumnal blends too! Customer service was wonderful when I asked for recommendations based on the flavors I already like!

Growing up I was spoilt with good coffee in Australia. Our coffee of choice was espresso coffee from Starbucks until we discovered Black Powder Coffee at the Old Town Public House. This is our new coffee from now on and it’s easily the best I’ve had since I moved here.

Great coffee. I am a dark roasted fan but have come to enjoy the full flavor of even a lighter roast. A couple of my favorites....Sulawesi, Sumatra, and One-Eyed Jack. And right now....Pumpkin Spice. Each order is exactly as the previous order. Consistency and perfection.

I found Black Powder Coffee online while looking for a place to purchase reasonably priced swisswater decaf coffees because the shop I use in PA was closed due to COVID-19. Not only is the swisswater decaf amazing (the swisswater decaf Peru can be mixed 50/50 with the Peruvian coffee my brother brings me from France and not alter the taste), but the pecan cinnamon rum flavored coffee was one of the best flavored coffees I have ever had. Ill be back the next time I need more coffee!

I tried Black Powder Coffee for the first time a few weeks ago. The Sumatra Decaf is toasty goodness in every cup. Blasting Cap Coldbrew also very good for the cold brewing process. Ordered direct from the website, arrived fresh in bullet-proof bags that keeps the stuff fresh. Just ordered another four bags because must have on the shelf.

This coffee is truly delicious. I bought some over the summer in Kannapolis at a market. I currently live in China and when I finally had a cup when I arrived back in Beijing, it was the best coffee I’ve had. (Snickers!!!) I had friends bring me more when they visited in October so that I could continue to have beautiful Snicker-filled mornings. Sadly, when I went to order my own before coming home for Christmas, I learned that Snickers was only a seasonal flavor. I was beyond sad and felt like I may never love coffee again. I tried 3 types of whole bean coffee from Black Powder. I write few reviews and only for exceptionally good products. I loved their coffee especially the frontier breakfast blend. It is as good (or better) as Counter Culture but you get a pound for the same price as 12oz of other premium coffee. Try them, youll like them.

He roasts his selection of coffee with two large roasters in his location. I regularly drink his One Eye Jack organic that I buy freshly packed and ready to grind. The entrance is non-descript but you enter and are welcomed. Ask for a tour and tasting if you like.
