I inherited the family fiddle, which hadnt been touched in forty years. The String Shop was able to refurbish it into playable condition for a very reasonable price. Im grateful every time I play it.

Great eclectic guitar shop located on the west side of the square in downtown just before West Main Street. Downstairs it is a repair and string ship doing minor and major repairs and restorations. Assortment of guitars and small amplifiers including some very nice vintage items. Next to apothecary and attorneys offices a few doors before the corner before Main.

Ive had the best & most consistent work done on my guitars since finding Dub and his location in downtown Murfreesboro. He takes great attention to detail, has quick turnaround time, and makes great suggestions on his approach to working on guitars. Hes done setups, fret work, electronics, and everything I could ask, with exceptional results. Highly recommended guitar tech, and the one Ill be using exclusively for my guitar needs.

I just discovered this place and I already love it. It has a very charming atmosphere with a great selection of instruments that you definitely won’t find at most other stores. Also, Dub is super friendly and definitely knows his craft.

Just had my banjo serviced at the Sring Shop, 5th string nut repair and a full set too. My banjo sounds better now than it ever has in the 20 years I have owned it! It plays easier too! I couldnt be more satisfied! Thanks so much for the expert attention.

I took my guitar in and asked him to set the action as low as possible without causing fretbuzz and when I got my guitar back, it buzzed and resonated very poorly. Not a good set up and I would not recommend. He also said he would call when it was finished and he never did. I had to call him. Very unprofessional and very poor work done.

Good attitude, has some really neat finds in his display room. Has re-fretted my mandolin and put new tuners on. Always swift and excellent.

Just picked up my guitar today from having it restored here at The String Shop & I cant say enough good things about the Awesome Craftsman Ship & Talent that was done on my Guitar!!! I will be a return customer in the future if I ever need work done again to a guitar...

I recently took in an 80s model Kramer Striker 100st and had Dub install a Dimarzio Super Distortion pickup, new jack, volume pot w/push pull coil tap, new wiring, upgraded sustain block on the Floyd Rose tremolo, complete setup, fret dress/level. The string height is nice and low and it plays and sounds like a new guitar! I also took in a Charvel So Cal and had a complete setup, new jack, volume pot w/push pull coil tap,new pickup selector switch and upgraded sustain block and the string height is ridiculously low with no string buzz! Its now the guitar I hoped it was when I bought it. If you want your guitar to play and sound like a custom shop guitar then I highly recommend The String Shop.

I have had guitars and Banjos worked on there and always excellently repaired. Great service, I highly recommend.
