The team at Naper auto has always impressed us. Their communication is excellent - phone, text, e-mail. Their process of taking pictures of issues to help us understand and providing well detailed commentary of the issues is excellent. On this visit, they even managed to squeeze us in earlier than initially anticipated. If youve had a bad experience with an auto shop (I certainly have), just know that Naper Auto is the exact opposite.

My 2014 Audi S4 was leaking oil into crankcase. Dealer said it had a cracked block and wanted $8,000 to completely diagnose issue or $30,000 to fix by replacing engine. The folks here at Naper Auto Works found the problem (a cracked oil separator) and were able to complete repairs for $2200, which was actually $100 less than I was originally quoted. Problem is completely fixed and I saved $28,000 by taking my car here. Professional and prompt communication and great job on diagnosing and repairing the car. Thanks!

This place is the real deal. Excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable staff who are able and willing to explain every service they recommend to you. They do a thorough multi-point inspection on every vehicle that comes in, and Ive brought my Pilot into them twice now! Had to turn down some repairs for the time being, and they totally understood--I do plan on coming back for those in the near future. Happy I started coming here and will be a returning customer!!

This is the only place that has ever validated my concerns about conflicting information Ive been told about cars, and it really built my trust in them. They helped me understand both opinions and procedures and encouraged me to make the choice that worked best for us without pressure. I did not get talked over or dismissed, and despite how busy they are, they took time to hear me. It seems difficult to find people like this. And I received that treatment from several different workers which suggests a customer friendly work atmosphere.They get four stars because of how expensive it was. But in reality, I did not compare prices to know if they are average or high. Its difficult to pay for a diagnosis that produces no problems to be fixed, so this is more of a reflection of my attitude and not necessarily their service or work. I will be keeping them as my go-to car shop.

Ive been a customer of Naper Auto Works since 2007. Theyve never steered me wrong. And along the way theyve managed some tricky repairs, including a complete transmission rebuild - back in 2007 - that was still 100% perfect 80000 mile later when we finally got rid of the vehicle (having nothing to do with the transmission). Then there was the New Years Eve harmonic balancer (the pulley at the end of the crankshaft) replacement - the car was towed there that morning, they managed to locate a hard to find replacement in an hour and had the repair completed and the car back before the close of business that day. (Did I say before that was on New Years Eve?)Also, they are in a great location if you commute to downtown Chicago on the BNSF Metra. Just leave the car there, walk the few blocks to the Naperville station, head to work, and then come back for it at the end of the day.Ive had them service 5 different vehicles over this time. They are very good.

These people don’t know what they’re doing. Brought in my car, spent $1300 for an issue that wasn’t even fixed and now they were asking for another $1300 to fix something else. Took the paperwork to the dealer and they told me that wasn’t even the issue with the car. Avoid this place.

I unfortunately had to move, however this is my favorite auto repair shop in IL and will likely drive back to use it the next time I can. They have only ever been honest with exactly what my car needs and have been upfront with costs (they even told me my repair was under warranty and should take it to the dealer). Because I know very little about cars, it would be very easy for them to take advantage of that and overcharge, but I can trust their quote and, equally important, know my car is in great hands. I highly recommend working with everyone there, but especially Robert who goes above and beyond for customers.

This was my first visit to Naper auto works and I was WOWED, As a female I often feel duped or taken advantage of when it comes to auto issues. The technicians actually take pictures of all the items that need repair or updating. I was really impressed. I think I have found my “go to” place for all my car care needs.

Naper Auto Works has fixed my car numerous times and always gave me the best value compared to other Car shops. They also were flexible on pick up and drop off times since I live far away. They picked me up from the train station and another time picked me up in downtown Naperville so I could shop or go to work at a coffee shop while I waited for the car instead of sitting in their waiting room. True customer care! Love them.

On the day my son was driving back to college, I called Naper Auto works in a panic because his car was dripping oil down our driveway. They immediately told me not to worry and bring his car in for a safety check. Turns out one of those corner oil change franchises completed a sloppy job on my sons car. Naper Auto works cleaned it up, inspected my sons car and eased my mind before he made his 4.5 hour trip. I told my son, next time go to Naper Auto works for service! I found Naper Auto Works on google maps and read great reviews so I decided to call. Jim was so helpful and even told me to bring car so they could tell me if my car needed the oil changed or not. The service was amazing! Not only did they change the oil on a Friday close to closing time but were also concerned with the damage my car had with a recent accident. There were wires hanging and were rubbing on the tire. I thought it was amazing on their part that they took those wires and tied them away from the tire so they would not get exposed and mess us the electrical system. I explained that I have the repair work already scheduled with a different shop. The fact that they did this for me at no additional cost, really won me over. I will definitely be back to have them work on my car again and would highly recommend them. The service is professional, quick, and they really care about customers! They even have a free shuttle service to one’s job if the car will need to be dropped off.

I have been taking my car to Naper Auto Works for years and they do an excellent job of diagnosing and repairing my car. They are also very honest. I started going there because my car wouldnt start and I had it towed to Naper Auto Works because it was the closest repair shop.They thought my battery was dead. I had picked out a new battery to buy. When they went to install it, they realized that the old battery was still good, but some of the connections were loose. They told me I didnt need a new battery when they easily could have sold me one. Naper Auto Works has been my mechanic ever since, and my car runs great!

I cannot say enough about how good this place is. I took my Ford Fusion there to have it checked out before I had to have the emissions tested and they not only solved the problem, they also took it for me to have the emissions test done and it passed. Saved me an hour of my time!Exceptional customer service! I never feel that they are trying to upsell me or take advantage. Naper Auto saved me $1,500 on what a car dealer proposed a couple of years ago, since then I am a loyal fan and have recommended them to numerous others. They have great service and great attitudes. Its always a nice place to visit and to know the job will get done right!

My check engine light came on and sudden panic soon followed. My car immediately started running very rough, very loud and then the car died.Instantly, my biggest fear kicked in, I have to buy a new car and Ill have a car note. (Something Ive been avoiding for sometime now)But, I decided to take it to Naper Auto Works, to see if they could save my 1999 Chrysler Sebring and keep me from selling my soul to a car dealership. The gentlemen John and Bill, were very nice and honest. I didnt feel like they were taking advantage of me, because I was a woman. They fixed my car and Im very happy now. Very happy that I didnt sell my soul to a car dealership and get a new car. Theres more work to be done on my car and I plan on returning to Naper Auto Works to have it done. I took my truck there for a couple of routine things including a radiator flush and fill and replacement of all belts. I had a similar experience to what someone else mentioned where I mysteriously had a brake problem right after I had it in and declined brake work they tried to push on me. My repair went up $75 with a thin explanation of a coolant leak somewhere behind my alternator, as well.Ultimately, I wound up with a belt squeaking again within a week and when I looked in there it appeared as only one of the three I can see was new. The others looked old, cracked, and dried out. Also, the next time I had my oil changed at another garage they showed me a PH dip strip test on my coolant indicating that it needed to be replaced. That suggests that they also did not actually perform the work on my coolant system they charged me for as this occurred not more than 8 weeks after my taking the vehicle to Naper Auto Works.The guy who helped me was really accommodating and helpful, but evidently that is just window dressing. I feel that I was blatantly ripped off by these guys and Ill never ever return, nor recommend anyone go there. Steer clear, save your money, and avoid what seemed to me to be an act of sabotage on my braking system to create future revenue. Its either that or they damaged it when they did the unsolicited inspection trying to find other repairs to add on and werent men enough to admit it and repair it for free. I did not have the follow up work done by Naper Auto Works, for obvious reasons. Note that Im the second person to write a review that mentioned having a completely new problem shortly after a visit there. Could just be a coincidence, but based on my experience I wouldnt put it past them. My truck is a low-mileage, garage-kept, driven-softly kind of vehicle of which I am the original owner and there wasnt a thing wrong with my brakes until a few days after I went to that shop and declined brake repairs they recommended.

I was in Naperville for work for a couple of days. On the first night of my stay I went out to grab a bite and my car wouldnt start. Twas a problem with the electrical system. I reached out to Bill and company after doing some online research for a good local mechanic, hoping that I might be able to get in and out before my scheduled departure the next day. Having been assured that, barring extenuating circumstances, this would indeed be possible, I limped my car over to the shop. Knowing my situation, Bill offered to have someone at the shop give me a lift to work. They completed the diagnostics, fixed the problem, and got me rolling again before the day was out. I can honestly say that Bill, John, and the rest of the crew at Naper Auto Works are some of the friendliest, most polite, and most professional folks Ive had the pleasure of working with. I appreciated their service so much that Im typing this all out on my phone; I didnt even want to wait to get to an actual keyboard. Thanks for your help gentlemen!

I took my Nissan Altima into the dealer and had it diagnosed, which cost me $85.00. Diagnosis was that I needed a new shift assembly as my vehicle would not shift out of park without pushing the Shift Lock release button. Nissan dealer quoted me $925 plus tax to fix. Going on a hunch, I decided to take it into Naper Auto Works on a co-workers recommendation. They performed the inspections and quoted me $825.00, I decided to have Naper Auto Works fix it. They purchased the shift assembly from Nissan Dealer and performed the work. When I picked up the car the bill was actually $770.00 to my satisfaction. Jim was great and I will definitely take my car in again if needed. Hopefully not anytime soon :) Keep up the great work!

Since abandoning my life-long relationship with Firestone (even through their tire debacle in the 1990s), in the recent years, Firestone has provided such poor, incompetent and incomplete service (while still charging me full price), I moved to Naper Auto Works. I have been tremendously satisfied ever since. They service my 2 vehicles as though the vehicles are their own... I have NOTHING bad to say, and I have the highest of accolades for Naper Auto Works. (and no, I wasnt paid to say this, no discounts... just the truth from an ex-loyal-Firestone customer)The final straw with Firestone was my air conditioner not working... I dropped hundreds of dollars with Firestone (them having my car again and again). My neighbor (a professional mechanic elsewhere) told me Firestone was feeding me crap and he said he could fix it with 10 minutes and a screwdriver. He even told me what the problem was... respectfully, he said I should pass this fix to Firestone so they could fix it themselves... Firestone told me to tell my neighbor he is wrong and doesnt know what hes talking about. I told my neighbor this, to which he he fixed my a/c with FIVE minutes and a screwdriver. After speaking to Firestones Store Manager and DIstrict Manager, no refund was given... screw you Firestone ! ! !Later, I had a mechanical issue with my wifes car... Naper Auto Works estimated the fix to be a $1400 repair... upon them servicing it, they found the problem elsewhere and charged me only $350 ! ! ! I love Naper Auto Works ! ! !

I took my truck into the folks at Naper Auto Works about six weeks ago per a recommendation from another business owner in the area. The truck was making noises that didnt sound very appealing and I was very worried that there was something pretty majorly wrong with the vehicle.The boys at the shop took a look, performed some diagnostics for me and reported back to me that my 4 wheel drive was engaging because my tire pressure was too low and offsetting in several of my tires. I needed new tires pretty badly and recently had them swapped out.Its nice to know that you can count on integrity with your local community business owners.-mM
