I went in to buy some replacement RAM for my computer and ended up getting up sold into buying a display model laptop with failed after 2.. I could not locate my receipt and they would not help me at all even though I paid with my credit card and have the receipt for the transaction in my credit card account. They did not offer to help Beyond me trying to find my receipt Im now going to try to dig through the garbage and find my receipt for a transaction that is only 72 hours old. Buyer beware from this company. Seems like they already have a lot of bad reviews.

They also have random items including toys and sometimes office gadgets... Ive even bought, occasional tables & garden umbrella stands. I like this place.

Return policy is a joke. Attempted to get a return on a $600 purchase and was informed that they dont do cash/credit back. They can only attempt to fix the device or exchange it. I was fully willing to pay the 20 percent restocking fee that is on the receipt but apparently that inst honored anymore.

Used to have outrageously good deals. I think that since they have had a little success, they feel the need to charge more. May still check in once or twice a year to see if things changes. Also, dont have quite as much as they used to in regards of general merchandise.

Always a mix up refurb and discontinued items at a good price. Sometimes some real deals. You never know what youll find whether electronics or toys. Staff was helpful. Seriously, dont pay full price for things like hdmi cables when you can get them here for a fraction of what most stores cost.

A visit here is sometimes hit or miss, but they have some great deals on good stuff. I got a nice entertainment center for my TV here, and Ive found small things like USB flash drives for good prices. Its worth checking out.

Consumer Depot is my #1 stop shop for electronics and accessories. From TVS to sound systems, they usually carry a wide array of items to choose from, at prices that sometimes even top Walmart or Best Buy. Consumer Depot also has return and warranties available for most large purchases. The staff are also friendly and knowledgeable about most any situation and if they dont have the product or service you need, they make an effort to point you in the direction that suits you.

This place is terrible. Owners dont care about their employees and its obvious. If they cant treat their employees right image how they treat their customers. Most of their packaging is damaged. I wouldnt not be buying anything from here you dont know what youre buying.

Went in to return a Lenovo tablet that wasnt working, right before closing time, I had no hassle. The guys looked it over, conferred with one another and gave me a new keyboard attachment for the tablet. The keyboard synced immediately and all was good in the world. Lol!!

Bad BusinessThey shipped me a broken speaker bracket/mount, I Know for a fact that they shipped it broken because the box it was shipped in came to me in perfect condition.Plus the package for the bracket had been opened This was suppose to be a New Bose Speaker Bracket/Mount.The $9 is not with my time or the money to ship it back to them.Word of advise Just use Amazon.

IT IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS & THE MANAGER IS A BLATANT LIAR!!! I began shopping there when then were in Madison when I built my 1st computer. I continued to shop there even when they received negative press about customer service issues. I have been there THREE times in the past year and had very negative encounters with their manager who FLAT OUT LIED TWICE about a computer I purchased. I have spent well over $10,000 there for computers and other items but will NEVER go there again as long as the continue to hire that liar.

Consumer depot is at best...shady. I will not return as I find identical items on Ebay cheaper than they sold them for and their no return policy is horrible. The whole business of having to bring orders out of the back warehouse while you have to browse the store is weird to me. When I have returned items that didnt work they inferred I damaged it. I only brought it home and plugged it in. If you do return an item, you will pay a 20% restocking fee even if you just took it outside and brought it back to the store. There is no public restroom (really? is it that big of a deal to provide that????) The crappy merchandise is overpriced. They are a discontinued item warehouse but they charge slightly less than retail prices. AVOID!!

We bought a tablet at Christmas with the extended warranty, two months later it quit working and when we went in to replace it they said they did not have another in stock, we would have to upgrade.. so we did now just two months later the port falls out of this one on its own and they say the warranty wont cover it.

I bought a bluetooth speaker for approximately $15 at Consumer Depot; carried it home, removed and discarded the packaging and plugged it in to charge - nothing. I retrieved packaging from garbage (but not receipt, unfortunately,) and took it back. A salesman said the connectors were bent and supposedly fixed it; when I returned home and plugged it in, it still wouldnt take a charge. I carried it back a second time and requested that the same clerk exchange it for another one displayed behind him. He refused because I didnt have receipt even though the Consumer Depot price tag was on packaging. I offered to bring credit card bill with charge but he said he would only accept receipt. It was only $15 but if it had been a laptop or TV, I would be out a substantial amount of money. BUYER, BEWARE!! If you are treated in a similar manner, you may be able to successfully challenge charge with credit card company which is what I intend on doing.

What a load of crap! Bought an item about 5 days ago and tried to return because it did not have the part I needed. Had the original box and receipt. Still they wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee. Their own salespeople need to read their return policy...#4) Original packaging required for FULL Store Credit. Maybe the management is telling them to rob the customers...Maybe they are pocketing those fees...That is the last time I am going to back and get robbed. In 2010 Consumer Depot was found guilty of deceptive practices to consumers. This place look great but...Bait and Switch??? I visited Consumer Depot and expressed interest in a Sony shelf top audio system. I spoke to the sales person and tested my Ipod and CD before asking for a box to put it all in to purchase. It was marked $49.99. Never once did the sales person remark about the price.When he went for the box he came back and told me it would be $69.99 not $49.99. I asked to speak to a manager which led me to another sales person who said he would check on this. He did NOT. The sales person beside him who was NOT engaged in my sale started talking rudely and condescendingly to me. I told him I did not appreciate this. He just kept going on and on trying to get the last word.No one verified the price as they said they would. I drove a good distance to come down and get this. I’ve shopped at Consumer Depot for years both online and off – they were extremely rude and seemed to want to prove their superiority and have the last word. I was told if I didn’t like the attitude, to go shop at Best Buy. VERY RUDE considering I was going to get that stereo system, 2 other speakers, and an LCD Monitor before I left. It seemed like a kindergartner throwing a tantrum. The second sales person who was supposed to be helping me was nice but the one beside him seemed to want to beef and beef about the situation. I think it’s because I caught them red handed in changing the price of the product on me. People don’t like to get caught esp in a business like that.Never shop there – the marked price is not the price you’ll be asked to pay. I spent 15 minutes or so looking at the item, asking questions, etc. It was not until I asked to buy it that the price went up. Buyer beware, this may be a bait and switch scheme at Consumer Depot. A better deal for closeout and similar merchandise is Essex. There they treat you with RESPECT and are fairly good with pricing. They treat you like you are an adult.

The WORST POSSIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The owner would have money better spent if it was self service and pay on the honor system.

For anyone confused, this business is also Ocean Reef Electronics. Theyre the same company -- they had to switch names because of all the lawsuits and problems.This business will do anything they can to rip you off -- not sending you what you order at the price advertised. Their customer service is horrible and they wont work with you to fix when they mess up.

I bought a charger for my macbook pro not only did it not work and they not believe me, and after they shipped it out to find if it was in fact the charger and not my computer that wasnt working I couldnt replace it they had no more in the store and apparently couldnt order me a working one instead i got store credit which I have yet to use because when I call in no one answers and/or Im on hold for ever.
