Sean and Lori are great if you are looking to get scuba certified! Both are very experienced divers. Sean is a bit a tough love instructor but makes sure that everyone knows to take diving seriously and that understanding each skill is very important. I was anxious throughout most of the course, but he was calm and direct with me on each skill making sure I was able to complete each one. I would highly recommend Music City Scuba.

Getting certified for scuba diving had been on my list for years. Finally took the plunge and signed up with my husband and some friends for the Open Water class at Music City Scuba. Sean, Lori, and the entire dive master crew out of this store are incredibly knowledgeable and just overall fantastic folks. The AM class and testing was thorough leading up to the in-pool time. Pool time was structured to give you real practice with all the important skills that would need to be executed during the four open water dives.We appreciated the opportunity to add another pool-day to feel more comfortable with our skills before the open water day.The care and attention that these folks have for the sport and for training was evident during those open water days, where they ensured that everyone in the group was able to complete all necessary skills with competency. In addition, the dives were a ton of fun (and challenging) and our group appreciated the sense of humor ;) and passion for diving that the Music City Scuba team obviously has.We love that we can continue our education with them, and look forward to improving our skills.

I had a wonderful experience getting certified with Lori and Sean. Their attention to detail is and safety is very reassuring. They are always willing to help you become a better diver and to enjoy yourself. They are honest and do not try to get you to buy things you do not need. This place was everything I was looking for and needed in my life. They explained everything to me in perfect detail, and just leveled with me. If I was in doubt or didn’t understand something, Sean was patient and thorough and absolutely didn’t mind taking the time to make me feel comfortable and knowledgeable. Lori explained the entire process fully and what to expect and made it a very delightful way of cutting the edge off of your nervousness. It felt like talking to friends.If you have irrational (or rational) fear of water then go here. They will change your view on how a visit to the bottom can be a wondrous experience. I would most definitely recommend them to anybody looking for this experience. I can’t wait for the season to open, I’ll definitely be coming back to further my education. I absolutely Love Music City Scuba!! I have been wanting to get certified for years, now I am glad I moved to Nashville and went through them. I needed to be certified before a trip to Guadalupe Island, when I contacted the office they assured me we could get it accomplished. They made me feel comfortable from the book learning to the pool session and all through the quarry dives for my certification. I had so much fun with Sean and Lori and trust in their skill set that they will be my first stop in any other certifications and needs for equipment! BEST dive shop around! That is a simple way to put how great I think Music City SCUBA is. When moving to Nashville I looked around for a dive shop to fill a tank or get gear from and I have gotten so much more. Originally i was only O.W. certified when I came to Nashville and determined I needed my advanced certification for a up coming trip on very short notice and to my surprise Sean gave me the only date he had open and I made it work. I took a lot away from that class and felt so much more comfortable in the water due to Sean instruction and enormous knowledge in the world of diving. I highly recommend Sean & Lori at Music City SCUBA. They truly care about your safety more then anything and making you the best diver possible. The first time I walked into the shop I was a bit nervous about the whole process (I am one of those that has never swam underwater without my nose plugged.. lol), but Sean immediately put me at ease. I then studied at home, and then went for the classroom and pool session. Sean is a fabulous instructor!!! I felt confident and cared for. I will refer all my friends and family to Music City Scuba.

Music City Scuba is an excellent company to get open water certified through. Instructor Sean and Divemaster Lori are true knowledgeable professionals who made the class fun and who helped turn me into a competent diver. Initially I had some anxiety, as do a lot of people, but they dont rush you. They go the extra mile to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable in the water. I enjoyed SCUBA and their class so much, I returned for the Advanced and Rescue cert which were both a very rewarding experience. I then decided to go through the Divemaster program which has fine tuned my skills and given me a deeper understanding of the sport and how to make myself and others safer in and out of the water. Furthermore, Sean and Lori do a stellar job at planning dive trips. We went to Cozumel this past November and it was an incredible experience. I highly recommend this company for getting open water certified and beyond.

I am really disappointed from my experience with Music City Scuba. I had contacted them a month or so out to schedule a slot for one of their open water checkout dives. I was grateful to hear that there was only one other person signed up on a weekend that worked great for me. I asked if I needed to go ahead and pay, but I was told that it isnt really necessary and that I could call closer to when the checkout dive would be. Well, two weeks later I called again. When trying to finally pay for the weekend, a different worker told me the weekend was booked. When I explained that I had called before and was assured we had a spot for the weekend, the workers best response was, I dont know what to tell you, we arent taking anyone else. Not only is the inconvenience of now having to frantically look for a different check out dive for my wife in time for our trip upsetting, but the complete and utter lack of empathy or apology from the worker was shocking. I would not recommend this shop to anyone from my brief experience.

Lori and Sean are both very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and funny. Lori helped us find any gear we needed that would work best for us, and Sean made the lesson experience entertaining while still making sure we learned the skills. I would absolutely recommend choosing MCS for gear, lessons, or all of the above if youre anywhere in the Nashville area!

After doing my PADI classwork via e-Learning because of travel schedules, I joined up with Music City Scuba to do my pool and open water work for my certification (after getting the run-around from another local outfit). Sean and Lori were both professional and thorough, but also a lot of fun with great stories from all of their time in the Islands. So much so that I turned around and promptly signed up to get my Advanced Open Water cert. Looking forward to diving with them more in the future, and feel confident with my current skill set as I head to the Caribbean next week!

If you are anywhere in middle Tennessee and are concidering getting scuba certified, you should definitely check out Music City Scuba. Sean and Loris commutation and attention to detail is amazing. Their whole staff is very frienly and they are VERY accomplished divers. I drove over two hours to attend the PADI Open Water Certification with MCS. If I had to do it over t again, I would drive twice that if I needed to. Not only did I become a certified driver, I made some new friends, also. Thanks again MCS.
