This is where you want to go if youre passionate about records, or music in general.
I couldnt believe my what I was seeing it took me back to my childhood. I didnt know that records where even made anymore. Any kind of music your heart desires along amazing colors are right at your fingertips.
Way cool people and business
Stopped in there last week to see if I could get a tour. Was told they didnt do tours any more. Some cool things in the front area to see. Receptionist was pretty and fun. Made it worth going in.
Had an excellent tour. Really interesting. It elevated my interest in vinyl 10X. Highly recommend.
This is an incredible place. Look at you-tube videos from United Record Pressing for how vinyl records are made. Its amazing! +150 steps to create vinyl albums. Thank you sooo much for the great work you do!
I like working here
I did not have a record pressed here, I am a music consumer, and their pressings are terrible. Both my Mumford and Sons albums and several others arrived from the retailer looking as though they had been dug through in a bin in a garage sale for 10 years. I traced them back to this plant. Scratches, markings, absolutely filthy, you name it. Dont even get me started on the poor quality of the pressing itself. As a consumer of vinyl, I will never buy a record pressed from this facility. The day of recogning is coming for plants like this - people wont take this garbage much longer.
I send thousands here every year and never an issue. People who have issues at most plants, do very few records, in comparison, order the recycled vinyl and/or dont prepare masters properly. Our masters are always prepared properly, so never an issue. Honest and forthright customer service in every regard.
I was an employee at United Records and I worked on the pressing machines and I can truly say you will not get good service here. I have witnessed people get let go and fired for absolutely no reason, this company takes advantage of its staff and takes advantage of customers as well. The only way to remain at your job is to not speak to anyone and try your best to do every single thing perfectly, any partial hiccup risks you getting fired, they hire people from temp agencies who dont care about the quality of your record, or vinyl in general. They will hire anyone who comes into the door as well as fire 3 employees with each person they hire. The turnaround is insane. I would get my services from a more genuine company, this company is manipulative and corrupt.
This place is awful .....They treat their hard working employees like a dog. Just like several other reviews. This place does not care about their employees or customers at all. If you have other options please go and try those other options first.
What an awesome and historical place! Millions more pressed every year now causing URP to open a new location to accommodate more orders. Soon to be the largest vinyl company in North America. They must be doing something right! We love United Record Pressing.
0 Stars for one of the worst companies Ive ever dealt with, not only do they not value the customer but the people they have working for them dont value the product or vinyl in general. Ive ordered 7 twice from them, 3 months in advanced the first time and then 5 months in advanced the second time and both were delayed an extremely long time! My release was delayed and we were forced to eventually release our two EPs without vinyl. This company should be closed. They seriously need help.
Every vinyl record that I have bought that has been pressed by United Record Pressing has had the following issues: off-center, dish warped, mis-aligned labels, dimples and pitting in the vinyl - which leads to clicks, ticks, pops and noisy pressings etc.Horrible quality control!!!
I work here what more do you need to know lol
Staff is helpful and friendly. The product is inspected several times before being shipped. Love this place!
A SINCERE WARNING: DO NOT PRESS YOUR RECORDS HEREA warning I should have taken heed of. I pressed my last album in 2013 with URP when they were still at the old facility and everything went quite smoothly. This time around was an entirely different situation. First off, I was feeling like I wasnt welcome there from the first visit. I did end up with a great project manager (Brie), but unfortunately she wasnt able to help what came next. I received the test pressings in a decent amount of time, and all five sounded fantastic (on several different systems). I gave the immediate okay to go to pressing. The first batch (ordered more than 4 months in advance) arrived just in time to ship out to retail and Kickstarter backers. I was elated! They looked great! But when I got home I tested the first one out of the box and there was an obvious no-fill issue (that tearing paper sound). I checked the next two to be sure, and had to return the whole batch. Brie was apologetic and promised to try to at least meet the release date deadline. I got an email that they were ready to pick up two days before I left for the Release Show and subsequent tour. Once again, elated! Until I got home and tested another one. SAME EXACT ISSUE, only worse. You can hear the tearing sound within 2 seconds of play. WHERE WAS THE QUALITY CONTROL?!?! These are all supposed to be tested. And for defective returns, you would assume the re-presses would be more closely inspected. Clearly, someone either didnt do their job, or simply did not care about an independent release. These simply cannot be sold. After taking out a personal loan for 20,000 dollars that was spent on the recording, the top quality musicians, engineers, producer, mastering (especially for vinyl), let alone the thousands of dollars I paid URP for these records to be pressed, we should expect more out of the pressing facility we choose. I wanted to stay local with this, and I had been promoting URP for years since my last pressing (which I am now feeling embarrassed about). So, right now I have to load them all back up and return them for the second time to the plant. Because they did not have any more labels on hand they could not re-press in time for the release date, the show, or for the Kickstarter (now I have to send two packages to everyone, costing me more money and time). After reading some of the other reviews on here, and seeing the countless YouTube videos about the poor quality of URP pressings, I wish I had taken the word of a friend who warned me against using them. Please do yourself a favor and find another option, there are plenty out there now!
This is a great place, I am an employee here at the moment, but they were very helpful and friendly...Im glad to be a part of the team and they have countless records from old to New...Audrey and Ashley, thanks for giving me an opportunity...i wont let you down
Great tour and great quality products! Highly recommend! Great t shirts!
I got laid off been waiting for a 2 mouths for jerry to call me back just to call today and he said that my contract was terminated worse place to work dont work here
Thank you so much for an amazing place in our community ❤️💎🌎
It is against our standard ethos to post negative reviews and greatly saddens us to do so, however... when a company treats a smaller company so poorly and disrespectfully, it is important that one speaks up; particularly in this strange era of declined customer and consumer protection and overall ethics.United Record Pressing (URP) completely threw our label and our band Ghost Against Ghost under the bus. After using Furnace Manufacturing for our last 3 releases, based on a longstanding reputation, we decided to try Nashville based URP (United Record Pressing). The project was for the new Ghost Against Ghost LP, a project we had worked on for 3 years, and had been planning the release for 8 months. In December of 2016 (5 months in advance) we called 3 different pressing plants, and made it blatantly clear it was absolutely necessary we receive the Vinyl order 1 month before the April 17, 2017 release. We were assured by the United rep, on multiple occasions, that this would be fine. We handed in all materials by mid-January, well ahead of their stated timeline. And then we waited. After some time passed, we started writing emails to check in. No response. After 5-7 emails with no response we began calling. No one would return our calls. It came within a month of the release and we had not received our tests and we began to freak out. For anyone that has pressed vinyl, they will know it is a time intensive process and it takes a lot of work to line everything up. We made an extra effort to do so. Our release came and went, we had saved up a lot of money for a small indie for the release, and had no vinyl for live shows and for the campaign.URP finally responded a month later, without an apology mind you. Having completely ruined our release campaign and costing us Thousands of dollars. They only responded, it seems, because we refuted the initial deposit on the project with our bank, once URP saw this they finally emailed us (after 6 weeks of non communication) in order to chase down their own money. After negotiation, we then tried again to see if URP could complete the project, even through our incredible frustration. They claimed, after 7 months, that the master lacquer was bad. Please understand the master lacquers were pressed and delivered by Sterling Sound (in January) and mastered by Greg Calbi (Paul Simon’s “Graceland”, Springsteen “Born in the USA”, etc.). One of the best mastering houses in the USA, by one of the greatest mastering engineers. We waited 7 months to learn the master lacquer needed to be replaced. Because of our longstanding relationship with Sterling, Sterling pressed another master for us, for free. Several months have passed yet again, we’ve since again tried to contact URP, and they won’t respond. It’s now been 10 months since we opened the order. Absolute nightmare. We have had some terrible experiences with companies, this is definitely one of the worst, certainly the worst weve had in the music industry. There was absolutely no respect at all for the artist, or the small label and the huge efforts, over several years, that were made to put this very personal music out into the world. Our assessment is that URP focuses on the larger artists and labels but cares little for the tiny indie or experimental artists. There are other reputable pressing plants out there that do care, but if you’re a small indie, our experience suggests you should avoid this company at all costs.
Very rude on the phone, said We are not currently doing tours. Not apologetic, or any more info like, maybe when they are doing tours again...
Great product & service.
One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Lied on several occasions about the state of our release, would not return emails, phone calls, in the end just allowed our release date to go by with no apology, and no effort to make amends. Terrible company.
The tour is really lame, and the tour guide doesnt know anything about making records. She told us that PVC stands for plasic vinyl compund, that sound recordings couldnt be pressed until 1948, and that everything before that was a unique original. What about Berliner in the 1890s?! Furthermore, she wouldnt show us the plating room claiming a nickel allergy (even though she was holding some stampers). If that was the truth, then why wasnt someone else giving the tour??! We didnt get to see the artwork building either! The worst part was her explanation of analog and digital. She told us that MP3s are digital, and WAVs are analog. Yikes! Again, knows nothing of recording or physics. Doesnt know much about lacquer cutting either. The owner(s) should educate her or get someone else. Not only this, but their manufacturing tecniques are piss-poor. Their steam lines are uninsulated and leaky. So, depending on what press your LP gets made, youll get a different result. Their cooling water lines were also uninsulated and not temperature regulated. Same problems. Inconsistent manufacturing. The folks handling the records are clumsy and careless with them. Ive seen new LPs come with fingerprints and scratches on them. Serious warping too. If youre Jack White, they might care about your project. Otherwise, youre nothing. Go somewhere else, spend a bit more money, and get a MUCH better product.
It has been a wonderful experience.
