I purchased a 2017 Grand Cherokee last week and my salesman was Will who was very friendly and informative. My check engine light came on after 5 days of owning the vehicle and I emailed them and the response took less than 5 minutes! They talked to Will who had me bring it in and the service techs diagnosed and fixed a very small problem and it is good as new! Thank you all for your caring and prompt replies and customer service!
Bought a van in June 2021 in which we noticed that the handle on inside was broke. Came back and showed to the sales man Daniel he claimed he was gonna have it ordered and call us back. Never heard anything gave it another month called again and still nothing. Called 3 weeks ago to speak with the sales manager about following up he claimed he was checking with Daniel and would call back. Still no call back from either person and no part. This is ridiculous and horrible customer service. I would not recommend anyone to buy from here and I myself will not buy from this dealership again.

I should have wrote this review along time ago… but I got a friendly reminder on why I should write this review. If you’re buying a pre owned vehicle from this establishment be warned… I bought a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 with nothing but issues. On things I would have never thought to check. The truck I bought was the fifth truck I have ever purchased so I figured I was going to be okay with my purchase and evaluating the truck. My truck was sold to me with serval front end issues, a bad transfer case, door speakers didn’t work, (sub woofer and tweeters did), hood latch etc. So my first night I realized the speakers did not work along with the hood latch when I got home… the hood was open upon arrival. The worst part about this whole situation was the customer service the manager who drove a black Tahoe at the pre owned lot.. shout out… he told me if I could sell the truck I traded in he would help me out. At one point I had a salesmen threatening me about my old trucks title (still have the conversation) extremely unprofessional but After all this I went to higher management to address my issue. Moral of the story my truck sat at the dealership in the same spot for 30 days to be told I need to pay them 3,300 for a new transfer case. So I respectfully declined service. So I had my local transmission shop fix it for half the price and was warned I was being ripped off. From a well known shop that does thousands of transmissions and transfer cases a year.

The people are nice but they don’t care very much about the customer.Let me start from the beginning. I brought in my RAM to a certified dealership because I thought I would receive proper service here.In the first 2 month yes *month* nothing happened besides my service care person changing 2 times. Every time the service person changed they lost all progress on my insurance claim.Finally late November 2020 I received a new responsible and this person did the best he could. However it still took them 3 ADDITIONAL MONTH to fix my car. So now I’m 6 month in 3 of them were I didn’t have my car.I have to admit, the dealership did do some work on the car free of charge because of the long wait time. However this work has been done very poorly. They replaced my rear bumper and I noticed the other day the license plate lights are falling out of their spot. The holders for those lights have never been put back. I’m soooo disappointed and can only say DO NOT USE RIVERSIDE SERVICE if you want quality and timely work.

Over the past 3 months I have been dealing with riverside’s mechanics and service department. They have done over $6000 worth of work (including installing a new transmission and rear differential), but still the problem with my Jeep has not been solved. They installed a transmission then told me it needed a new rear end, after I had already spent $4,300 on a transmission that they guaranteed would fix the problem. I let them go ahead and install the rear differential for another $1,700, and came to discover that it was already clearly broken upon installation (pictures at the bottom). It had a crack and one seal was siliconed. All of this I had to discover after driving all the way to Maryland to evacuate the hurricane and being told that my differential fluid was down to an ounce when it should hold a quart. Upon calling the dealership and telling them something was wrong because there was rear diff fluid all over my back door, they told me it must have been my fault! When I got a second opinion, $150 later, these mechanics told me the rear differential was cracked and that there was no way I could have done it, as it is protected by a hard casing. I called the dealership and explained the issue. I had to talk to the general manger back and forth for over two days in order to get them to pay for what they had clearly not done right to begin with. He told me this “was a favor” and was the last favor they’d do for me in good faith. A favor?! for what?! I was furious. They paid to have a local mechanic, that we actually trusted, do the work after I insisted that it was unsafe to drive back to North Carolina. Afterwards, I gave the general manager a chance to see the pictures and explain how this was “a favor”, considering the rear end was visibly cracked and silicon was used to patch up a leaky seal instead of replacing it. He wasn’t there at our scheduled meeting time, and while this may have been a simple miscommunication, it frustrates me that they have not tried harder to admit their wrongdoings and make amends. Jacob has helped me and did finally pay for the rear differential, but I am really frustrated in the work of the mechanics at Riverside. The rear differential could have locked up and I could of gotten into a serious accident. Maybe then they would have done me “more favors”. I am just thoroughly disappointed in the quality of service and expected more.
Although i wasn’t able to get a vehicle, gary helped me and went above and beyond to exceed my expectations . he was very understanding, had great communication, and was such a nice man all around . i would highly recommend buying a car from him .
Yesterday I went in not knowing what the outcome would be as I was in a situation. We were riding around and this “old man” came out to the car. Old Man was so nice. Came inside and told him what our options were and what we were looking for. Went for a ride in the vehicle I chose, got to know the “old man” even better. Now he’s like family. Sat down and filled out the paperwork and was out the door in two hours with a new ride. I can not thank John and David enough for the help. The guidance. All while never feeling pressured In to getting anything. Best experience hands down!!

HES THE MAN! Transaction was smooth, transparent and I got a great deal! Ill see him in about 5 years when I want another truck!
June 4 Original post: My husband and myself purchased a vehicle on May 8, from the New Bern dealership (Riverside Automotive, LLC) for our son. We live in Virginia and originally had stated we would take care of paying the sales tax and getting his permanent tags but your dealership insisted they could handle that for us. However, it is now June 4 and his tags run out on June 8 and the vehicle paperwork still has not been sent in to Virginia’s DMV. My husband called on June 1 and was told that the company had turnover and they would work on getting us another 30 day tag and getting the paperwork processed. My husband has called every day since then and no one will return his calls. I called this morning and asked to speak with your titling employee who was not able to take my call and has not called me back. This is poor business management in my opinion, once a car is sold does not mean your job is done.June 11 Update: After my original post on June 4 the dealership called us and overnight the paperwork and our money back for the taxes so we could go to the DMV ourselves. They also provided us with a $100 gift card for our troubles (along with requesting we remove our google comment). HOWEVER, this AM my husband just drove an hour to a DMV to be told that the dealership did not send us a title reassignment. Therefore, we could not put the truck in our name. This is becoming absolutely ridiculous! First when they sent the paperwork the check for the taxes were not even made out to us. Now we can’t even title the truck. This dealership need to get their stuff together and get us what we need. It is starting to appears that there are some serious management issues at the dealership. I, in good faith, took my original google review down, however, I am re-posting as that is the only way for any action to be taken by the dealership.

Worst car shopping experience yet. Asked to put a deposit on a used car yesterday over the phone and was told that it wasn’t standard practice to do so. We had an appt set to view the car at 9 am today, drove almost 2 hours in a gas shortage being told we’d know if something changed with the car’s availability. We arrive only to find out the car had a deposit placed on it yesterday after we had already offered to make a deposit ourselves. Inconsistent in their communication with each other and customers. To make it worse, from my understanding the deposit was accepted from some one with philanthropic ties with the dealerships partner and they chose to accept the deposit due to the special relationship. Honored status of customer over making things right after their own mistake. Waste of time and gas on a dealership that needs to get their story straight with consistency in acceptable sales protocol to prevent experiences like this from happening.
I purchased a 2019 Dodge Challenger from Riverside. Love my car and brought it in for its first oil change with 4300 miles on it. Asked the service writer to have the tech. check the license plate light because it appeared to be broken on one side. I waited and purchased some after market part for my car. The same service writer and told me that my car was ready. I asked what they found out about the light and she said that they had not checked it. Then asked me again to show them which light. After a short time the parts salesman came to me and told me that it wasnt covered under warranty and stated shoot the messenger. I told him that I had a bumper to bumper warranty. He said I would have a talk to the service dept. I asked what the part cost and he told me that it was $17.00. I told him to order the part and I would purchase the part if I had to. I asked to talk to the general manager and they said he was not in at the time.I purchased my car from Riverside and I am happy with my car. I was treated nicely by the staff. I brought my car back to them because of how I was treated when I purchased the car. I spent $200 dollars on a oil change and add on parts. I wasnt asking for nothing for free but the way the service writer treated me and was going to charge me $17.00 for a part that was probably broken when I purchased the car is a shame. After a long talk with the service manager he told me that Dodge probably wouldnt cover the light because it was damaged. He looked at the light could not find any damages caused by me but went on to say some customers would try and get over on the dealership and they were working on a 1 percent margin. The service manager was nice and later said they would warranty the part. Im not a rich person but this is my fifth Dodge in less than 20 years and well over 150000. spent. A $17.00 dollar part may cost them more than they think.

So disappointed! Had a conversation with the internet rep and asked questions so I would know what to expect with the terms of their *sales event* when I went in. The internet sales rep said the event for 0% interest and 0 down was for new and used cars. The *event* also noted *up to* 5k over kbb. So I went into the dealership and was told by the salesperson that the event was for new and used cars not the rate. I was pretty specific in my question online and even showed him my conversation. Then asked what they were willing to give me for my trade and it was UNDER the kbb! Under! So we left. I later messaged the internet rep to let them know that the dealership wasnt doing as shed indicated. She apologized and then blocked me from responding. So unprofessional!

** UPDATE**Riverside contacted us about the last car we bought very soon after I posted this review. Both the owner and the manager called. They wanted the opportunity to make it right for us. So, my husband took the car back to them so they could make the repairs. They gave us a brand new vehicle as a loaner. It took them over a month because the back seat wasnt an easy fix. They stayed in contact with my husband throughout the entire process.We just went to pick up my car. They took care of everything. One of the ladies from the service department went out with us to look at everything.Im VERY happy with all of it! They absolutely made everything right for us!---------------We have purchased 2 used vehicles there in the last year. With the first one, they just werent up front with some things, and it was hard to communicate with them about things that needed to be taken care of once we purchased the car.I should have not even considered purchasing another vehicle from them, but they had the car I was very interested in. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and buy the car I really wanted. I was very clear about some things that I wanted, like a spare key, and I was promised those things.Within a few days it was very very apparent that something was wrong with the sunroof. It was basically raining inside the car. It took several attempts to get ahold of someone who would help us. They did take care of it free of charge, which earned them the 2nd star. I was promised it would be finished within days time and time again. It took a few WEEKS! I also reminded them a few times about needing the 2nd key.We were finally told we could pick it up. There was no spare key yet, but I needed my car. After a couple of days we realized that part of the back seat was not just down, but it couldnt go up again. They had broken off the lever, and I guess they just hoped we wouldnt notice. They had also taken out the net and cover for the hatchback and never put it back in. I have called time and time again, but I NEVER hear back.THE BACKSEAT IS STUCK IN THE FOLDED POSITION so we can only have 3, not 5 people in the car. THERE IS NO NET OR COVER in the rear. THERE IS NO SPARE KEY. And there are only crickets when we try to communicate with them.Also, while we were taking care of financing they included GAP without being asked or told. We didnt want it because we were going to our credit union to finance it. That is VERY deceptive.Dont go there to purchase a car. I dont trust them in the least. You will only end up with headaches if you do.

Stopped by today so my wife could have her car serviced. Ended walking out the proud owner of a Jeep Wrangler! Totally unexpected and honestly probably wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for our salesman. James Broyhill showed us a few different options and worked with us to find the best fit for our family. He was knowledgeable on the products and best of all he wasn’t pushy or arrogant like many other car salesman I have encountered. Most times that is the worst part about buying a vehicle but he conducted himself with professionalism and talked to us like he knew us for years only we had just met. I am very impressed with our experience today and I will be back again in the future as long as James still works there.

This place is a joke. My salesperson was unprofessional and offered zero assistance after sale was finalized. Both the manager and sales person assured me I would have a tag delivered to my address. Dragged their feet until property taxes were due and blamed everything on me. Now has referred me to someone else. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing anything from them if they gave it away for free.
The staff was amazing from jt in sales to David Parker in finance everybody in the building made sure i was well taken care of. By far the best car buying experience Ive ever had. They were even willing to take extra time after papers were signed to call me back in to change me over to a better longer warranty for the same price. If you are looking to buy a car I would definitely say this is the place to go.
I am 19 years old with no credit history what’s so ever, Iv been to so many dealership all around. Non compare to this riverside, when I walked in the door and Gary said “we will take care of you” he meant every word. I always get turned down and go home without a car, but that was not gonna happen under Gary’s watch, he was doing everything in his power, then the next thing I know I’m driving away in a brand new 2021 vehicle, and I owe a big thank you to Gary, without him I would have gone home without a car. Worst Finance Department ever. I had to cancel an extended warranty that I got through them. Took over 3 months ( supposed to take only 30 days ), 4 trips that took 2hrs round trip, and I had to do their job by turning in my own paperwork to the extended warranty. They never called me back or emailed me back when I tried to contact them about it. Also, never buy an extended warranty from any dealership, they almost triple the warranty price. WORST FINANCE DEPARTMENT EVER !

Before the sell & 1st 3 test drives were positive but last 2 & as last hours with salesman went by the politeness & enthusiasm factor went downhill quickly when it was obvious my check was in the mail, not in hand. Promised issues to be fixed on my car have not been fixed, no courtesy call or my Jeep hat promised as a sales gift has not materialized.Hidden problems have been found, like headlights not working, no ability to find a copy of Owner s Manuel, dent & paint chips promised corrective measures have not been addressed nor 1 single call to make an appointment to do these talked over things promised at the sale. What are my rights? Guess I call my son, my Attorney. How many clients are treated like this? Only new used buyers, ladies, or many? Wish I d gone elsewhere. Follow up has been non existent.DH.

Like many of the other recent reviews, I had a great experience with Phil, DJ, and Calvin in finance. The whole purchasing experience was smooth, the vehicle was in great condition and as advertised, and Phil certainly gave us the red-carpet treatment. We ran into a snafu with the loan process (my fault, not the dealers) and everyone patiently worked through the challenge until the process was completed. Overall, a great vehicle buying experience.
This place s the worst, they misdiagnosed my car twice . When I finally got my car back after over a two week wait and a very hefty price tag it broke down less than 5 miles from the shop. Absolutely terrible place, DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE

Today we went to Riverside Dodge in New Bern with the purpose of just looking at used vehicles for a future purchase; possibly for our youngest daughter to drive. We went to our usual go to guy Alan Walsh (have purchased four vehicles previously with him as our salesman). Alan as always was attentive to our needs/wants and did not try to sell us just any old car. The car we originally wanted to see was not there any more and he apologized for that. We found another one that was just outside our numbers, but we decided to test drive it and see what Alan could negotiate on our behalf with the sales manager and GM. Alan knows from previous purchases that my wife and I are firm on our numbers and if the numbers cannot work, then no hard feelings. In the end, we were able to purchase this practically NEW CAR (2016 with only 2800 miles) with our numbers. We want to say thank you not only to Alan Walsh, but his sales manager, and the GM Justin. I recently purchased a 2019 Jeep Compass from Riverside. I went in to just do some research on a new vehicle with no intentions of buying one for at least a few months. Lee was very helpful and let me look around the lot with no pressure. I left after looking around for a little while only to return a couple of hours later to inquire about the price for new windows on the soft top of my current vehicle. Lee went over options as far as trade in value and rebates on new vehicles and I made the decision to purchase a new vehicle. I recently purchased a vehicle from Riverside, Mr. Phil Edwards, assisted my family in finding the right vehicle for us. He was amazing, he was abled to find a vehicle within our price range and also addressed the issue of storage and space for my family. Will never go thru them again, this company does not let you know all info upfront. Also if o knew they would sell they car I traded in for only 5400, I would of kept it. thet negative equity was way more than that. It was alot of funny stuff going on. We had a loan then next thing, that loan officer got fired and we had to do everything over. the sales guy ripped us off with price, and I definitely know this from speaking to mutiple companies. Also just found out they are affiliated with SANTANDER which I made clear I would never do business with ever again. Ive already bad to get a lawyer for that company one time. should of looked in Virginia for a car. They took forever paying off the old loan and it affected my credit showing I missed payments because they took months to pay it off.. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Im now stuck with a car Im gonna be paying on forever. Do not use them, do not use the sales guy name Phil.. stay away

They have the worst customer service in eastern North Carolina. 2015 Dodge Charger has a recalled for faulty air bag, called to have vehicle service and part wasn’t in..: waited two weeks for part to arrive to find out that I have to wait two more weeks to have vehicle service, but I can leave vehicle for two days in they can fix it into there schedule but had no loaner cars. Service rep said they don’t even loan cars. Manager still hasn’t return my call about poor customer service
I recently test drove, and ended up buying a 2016 Honda Accord Sport with a salesman named Chris. Throughout the entire process, I was very relieved of how easy and laid back the process felt. Pros-The negotiation and sale went fine and seemed fair. Working with Debbie was an excellent experience, I would recommend her to anyone. Constantine was also enjoyable to work with.Cons-The finance guy was condescending and was straight up was telling lies to try to push for a less than mediocre extended warranty.-I still didnt have my tags after a month so i called in to find out what the delay was. I was called the next day on a Friday and was told my tags were in and that they were going to be sent to me. I waited till the following Thursday and still no tags. I called and they still had not been sent. Finally they overnighted them to me and i received them the next day.

Went here the first time a couple few weeks ago and it took them 4 hours to do an oil change, with a scheduled appt. The serivce people were great and kept apologizing to me and even went in the back to check on my vehicle, but if the guys in the back take that long to do an oil change, maybe they should think of getting new help. I have dealt with Trent with my GMC and National when I bought a truck and never had to wait this long before. The manager wouldnt even come talk to me when i asked for him. this place sucks. go somewhere else if your time matters.
I have been to a few dealerships for general maintenance, and Riverside Jeep was amazing and affordable. They are polite, friendly, offered great information on my jeep, and comfortable waiting space for me and my kids.
Zero stars deserved.I am so disappointed. I drove over 4 hours based off of the sales persons description of what the vehicle looked like. She even sent me photos but somehow forgot to include the many dents and totally missed the fact that the hood was missing half the paint and the convertible top was ripped (how do you miss that?... I was told the top was practically new). I was even told that there was no rust, however at first glance, the rust was extremely visible. Where has honesty gone? Certainly, not here. Buyer beware. They actually offered me a tank of gas. I didnt take the tank of gas since it was offered because they knew they had deceived my family.

Found the truck I liked on autotrader, so I sent in an inquiry. No more than 10min later I got a message from Ashely regarding the truck along with some information I requested. Because I lived an hour away I wanted to he sure we could get in the same ballpark number wise, so we did some negotiating and settled on a price. I filled out the credit app and was approved and ready to sign in no time. The next day we went to test drive the truck and Will had it all ready for me. Papers were all laid out and signed in no time! Highly recommend working with Will and Ashley, they will get you signed up and in a great vehicle fast!

I bought a 08 infiniti g37 coupe...love this car...took it in ..got it detailed...go to pick up my car...the did not clean the dash board...caz it was sticky wen I first got it..and it still was...and SOME ONE SCRATCH THE HELL OUT OF MY TINTED DRIVER SIDE WINDOW....so, you can buy a car here if you want...but the guy name Steve Rodriguez...is an awesome car salesman...if you go....ask for him...
