I had a very positive experience with this location. The truck was clean, the truck ran well, the truck was stocked as requested online, and Anthony was accommodating and helped make my experience a positive one.However, the real star of the show was the general manager, Star! I had a few difficulties on my end as far as getting the labor I needed to get the job done. She made it easy for me to reschedule and made me feel that my business was important to her. I had three interactions with her and at all times she was professional, courteous and truly cared.I only give star reviews based on whether or not I would recommend my friends and family to a business or if I would go back to that business again. This dealer earned and deserves a five star review.
Did not have the dolly I reserved. Might sound petty but the dolly was essential to our move as we had a lot of appliances. Lady at the front desk was less than apologetic and even slightly argumentative. I will not return here.
If renting from this place, make plans to have your trailer/truck inspected somewhere else or just avoid this place. They definitely do not do any sort of inspections. All 4 tires where underinflated by at least half. The highest pressure was 31psi when they are all supposed to be closer to 63. This one that blew had a nail, had only 19 psi and badly worn thread. I noticed this the night before and had uhaul roadside assistance come out to replace it but they didn’t bring the right tire so instead of finding the right tire they patched it and added air. 20 miles later on the highway with a full load it blew up. This was 20 miles into a 1,000 mile trip. Could have been much worse but had this location and the roadside assistance people been competent and diligent this wouldn’t have happened in the first place.
If I could give ZERO stars, I WOULD! We had a reservation and went to pick up. They said they had “nothing”, even gave reservation number, still “nothing”! She probably lied to be honest! When we insisted that they give us a truck, SINCE WE HAD RESERVATIONS, and a representative even called a couple days before, the “lady” at the counter was RUDE! I say “lady” loosely. She was not. We didn’t get a name but it was the heavy Caucasian woman. We don’t get ugly in ANY place of business, but she brought it out! She did not care that we had reservations, she did not care about customers. We were nice till SHE wasn’t. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE OR ANY OTHER UHAUL!! Go to the competitor! Yellow trucks, starts with a P! The reviews here are RIGHT! Zero stars is what they deserve! Oh! and you can’t even call the location! Only the 1-800 number! And you’re on hold for 25 minutes! I’m on hold as I type! Please, I beg you, do your business somewhere else. You’ll thank me later.Edited to add: I called the 1-800 uhaul number and ended up talking to a scheduler. I wish I had gotten her name because SHE was nice and explained to me why this happened and booked a new truck for us.
We reserved a cargo van online, when we showed up they said we needed a tx license with a new braunfels address.. refused to rent to us because our address was not in new braunfels… I then said can we rent a 10 ft truck, he said if they had one we could, but he didn’t have one, next guy in line was returning a 10ft truck a day early.. still wouldn’t rent us the truck! They need to at minimum post this policy online so people are aware and not blind sided when they need it!
Go to Highway 46 UHaul DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. KAbsolute nightmare dealing with these people. I scheduled a reservation and reserved the wrong equipment. Upon trying to change it, I called and I called and I called and no one picked up. I was sent to corporate number with a 55 MINUTE WAIT TIME. Come to find out this location has many complaints and other UHaul dealers in the area are aware of this location being garbage also. If you provide garbage service to your customers, better believe your gonna get garbage reviews.
Had an appointment for a hitch install. When I arrived the General Manager said they don’t have our part. She then tried to push blame on us saying “the notes said we would call you when the part came in”. Very unprofessional and a lie. They said they would call us if the part came in early because we made our appointment 3 weeks prior. Instead of trying to get some resolution, they could care less, and even tried to blame us. If they would call us about part, why would we even need/have and appointment? Also, no apology offered. Skip this place if your looking for a hitch install on newer vehicle.
Ive called multiple times in different days and nobody ever picks up the phones, besides not being able to conduct any business I guess it reassuring to know you guys are busy.
This location is horrible! They NEVER answer their phone and when you get tired of calling and actually go there they have no customers in the store. Lazy people work at this location.
Terrible Employee! I parked the truck I was returning at the designated spot. The signage posted asked that you remain by your vehicle until an employee assists you. I waited for approximately 30 minutes as a female employee walked past me a few times. Initially she was helping a customer with a trailer so I remained patient, assuming she would come help me as the sign said. She passed me and went into her office. I again waited for her to come out. After a long wait, I went inside her office to get assistance. She yelled, “You can’t come in here without a mask.” I explained to her that I did not have one because I thought I she would come out to assist me. Again, she yelled that could not be in there. Keep in mind there were no other customers and she was sitting behind her desk with a mask and plexiglass. Also, I remained more than 6ft from her. If she would have stopped to assist me one of the few times she passed me, I would never have had to go into the office in the first place. She was extremely rude and very unprofessional. I followed their directions that were posted, yet the employee completely ignored me. Not once did she ask me what I needed. Some people should NOT work with customers!
I bought a trailer light wiring harness and paid for it to be installed at the same time. It took 2 hours for the install. The man said he was finished so my husband went to close the hood of my car and noticed the wiring was fun over the air filter box and the electrical tape was not even applied correctly. He didnt run the wiring correctly and it was hanging under the car sometimes only being about an inch from the ground. By the hitch he just balled up all the wires into a nest and zip tied it to the hitch. The plug was not mounted. When I husband confronted him and asked if he was going to fix it the man looked at him and said, what do you want from me man? . Please people take your business elsewhere, we did. The uhaul on austin hwy is a good place to go and it is worth the drive to have things done right.
First off; I was sent to this location because the first two locations I was given did not have the cargo van that I had already reserved in inventory. So they set me up to drive about 30 miles to this location. Then when I got there; they wouldn’t rent me a cargo van because my license address wasn’t in the same town. Why would I be sent to pick up something they had a company policy against me having? So they gave me a 17 ft truck instead. Why they could rent a giant truck to me, but not a cargo van is beyond me. So now I have to pay more in gas than what I needed plus put 30+ additional miles that I have to pay for, and they would not compensate me for. I had the truck for less than 4 hours and was charged $146, when their marketing states is $19.99 per day.Also, none of the employees had their masks over their nose and mouths the entire time, and were not enforcing any other customers to wear masks. This was an awful experience, and no management or anyone has tried to make it right.
I was looking for a tow hitch at 3:55 October 2 and the worker was rude all can be. My boyfriend need to use the bathroom that was fine. But we left the building and the worker called him back. Telling him he has to clean the bathroom after himself. Did not ask if he could, he was told he better clean up after himself. The worker said he was not going to clean up after a group man. With the covid-19 many places have the bathroom close to public. Which is understandable and is probably what they should do.
This location is great! I rent small trailers from here several times per year and havent had a bad experience.
We needed a hitch and trailer ASAP for a cross country move. We made an appointment and reservation the day before we needed it done. Anthony and Garrett were fantastic and so helpful. It might have taken longer than expected but they were so kind and polite which made up for it all!
Great rental experience. I needed a cargo trailer to move my daughter back to school in Stephenville. I made my reservation and did the checkin online. As a result, I was in and out in about 10 minutes. The gentleman working was courteous and very helpful. The price was very reasonable, and the return the next morning was a breeze. I would definitely rent from them again.

Absolutely horrible experience we were given an address by U-Haul that was a closed U-Haul so went to a second destination supposed to be open till 5 got there at 4:30 they were closed no one answer the phone the gate was closed drove to another 3 U-Haul far away got there and they wouldnt take the truck made us drive somewhere else absolutely ridiculous will never use you all again.
Told me I could rent a truck and trailer to pull a car and when I went in they said I couldn’t. I called there head quarters and they told me I could. So after all that I come to find out that it’s there’s managers personal policy to not rent those items together. This place is a absolute scam and I will never do business with them again. I highly recommend finding a different company to go to. I forfeited over a car because of this. Very dissatisfied with this company as a whole allowing managers of a store to make special rules completely based on personal opinion. I wish for the complete downfall of this awful company. The customer service lady was extremely rude as well and sounded like she was just minute away from losing her mind all from me asking a question.

Arrived at the business to find the parking lot completely filled with vans and trailers. After parking at the business next door, I went inside to check-in for my hitch installation and was told that the manager rescheduled it for the next day a half hour later - that doesnt fit with my work schedule. What business alters an appointment without informing the customer? Im demanding a refund.
I just moved to Austin from out of state and I needed an in-town truck rental for a few hours. I called this location to see about availability and found they had what I needed. I made the reservation over the phone, which included a phone number with my out of state phone number. I drove all the way to the location just to find out they dont rent to people with an out of state license. I asked why this answer wasnt shared over the phone, and if there was any chance of compromise such as a deposit, to which I was answered with a penguin salute and a I just work here response. In addition to being a ridiculous policy, its also apparently unique to this location; I contacted another U-Haul location in South Austin and asked if they had the same restriction. They didnt, and unlike the Landa Park location, they were happy to help. The Landa Parks ludicrous policies and unwillingness to work with their customers are a manifestation of poor management. In the future I would drive out of my way (as I did involuntarily last time) to not have to deal with the unreasonableness of U-Haul Landa Park.
Great service. I rented the trailer on their website and used the online check-in. I was in and out in 10 minutes. The only negative about this location is that the parking lot is really tight. Might be a good idea to park on the street on the north side of the shop.
Horrible customer service. Very unfriendly and rude. Rented from here a few years ago and it was much better. Im not sure what changed. Word of advice if you leave anything in a truck and call them back the very next day dont expect them to be helpful at all and kiss your valuables goodbye. I guess they took it upon themselves to take it as a tip. Take your business elsewhere.
Lived in NBF for 12 yrs and its the same thing. Only one guy in the store can dispense propane. Takes 30 mins for them to help you and they continue to help customers that came in after you. Not sure why you even offer this service.
Only one person working and like 5 people waiting we were right after the person he was helping to get propane but he went to the next customer and skipped us it was rude and uncalled now I will not be going back anytime soon
I picked up a uhaul in houston and it took six workers to try to get the trailer hooked up. They (houston guys) ended up putting my ball hitch on the trailer and holding it up while I backed the receiver onto the hitch. Anyways, upon Drop-off the staff was very helpful, and it was the quickest process with uhaul I’ve dealt with. Dalton got the trailer off with ease, and exercised excellent customer service. I had issues with the trailer during my trip and had to call customer service several times. Dalton suggested we review some online notes in the office, and he was able to give me a discount on the rental. Dalton is the man..definitely deserves a promotion or some pay raise! Thanks again Uhaul and especially thank you Dalton.

I pick up a Uhaul truck from this store for a one way trip to Houston. When I go to check the mileage on the truck, I realize that the paperwork is wrong (almost 60 mile difference). Cory, Uhaul sale person, tells me that its not possible to update the mileage in the computer and simply just scratches out the number on the paper and write in the correct number and initials it. I tell him the final destination isnt going to accept this and he tells me that they will. Well, sure enough when I go to return my truck in Houston, they dont accept. They told me that it is easy to update the mileage in the system and that the computer system would charge me for the mileage. DONT TRUST THIS STORE. It cheats and lies to its customers!!

Reserved 15 online, got there no truck. The only available was a 26. Twice as long, and would not fit the area I needed for loading and unloading, unless I walked a block back and forth. The $50 guarantee is a joke / fraud. They can offer you anything for whatever time they allow ( not the 24hrs I needed - reserved ) and thats their out.A waste of a few hours.

DO NOT GO HERE! This is the worst uhaul I have ever been to. I went there to get a trailor hitch put on my car. I told them I was moving to Florida and renting a uhaul in san marcos. I am a 25 year old girl I dont know anything about trailor hitches. When I got to this store for my 11am appointment, the guy working there told me his boss went to the bank. I waited 25 min for him to get back. After they put on the hitch I drove all the way back to San Marcos and started hearing a loud rattling noise so I drove back to find out they put my hitch on wrong. They fixed it sent me on my way I go to pick up my my uhaul in san Marcos and they tell me I need a ball and receiver. I take a 3rd trip all the way back and get that from them. Then I get back in Sm and we decded to leave in he morning because of all the wasted time when we get to the San Marcos uhaul in the morn we find out they never put the light hook up on. I dont under stand how after me telling them I was moving to Florida how they wouldnt think I would need a light hook up. Now we are driving to Austin and cutting hours out of our long trip because the retards who work here dont know how to explain and help out a young girl who obviously knows nothing about trailors. You think they would have figured that out when I went back for the ball and receiver. Either way its called a upsale and its simple business technique that should be implemented and tought to employees.
Im sure the people are nice but their system is stupid i got the reservation and had to deal with 3 different stores and 5 different people each one saying hang on and then you have to explain everything again to a new person finaly cussed out the last one and found a place on my own
