This was the best eye Dr experience I have had! From entering the door to the awesome girl who tested me on those machines. (Haha) to the dr! Very great experience and would recommend anyone who hasnt been there for their eyes to go!!

Exam and enployees are all great, but been waiting for glasses to come in, is awful. Cant see a thing.

Staff was good but was told glasses would be ready on may 21st so stopped in and got told wouldnt be till Tuesday or Thursday so haveing to wait 1 month for my glasses is very disappointing. Cant see anything.

My first time there and it was very nice.I wasn’t nervous after a minute which was great! Everyone was helpful and friendly. CDC guidelines were followed so that also was nice. My daughter and husband will be future customers! I have nothing but good things to say!!

Had never been to this office before, but my first experience last week was great. Was welcomed as soon as I walked in. Didnt have to wait too long for my appointment. All staff were wearing masks. Social distancing marks are on the floor and chairs. Good eye exam with the doctor; I felt like she really knew her stuff. Looking forward to another visit sometime.

I walked in around 3:30 in the afternoon with no appointment. They was completely booked for the day but they went out of there way to work me in between other customers. Thanks to them going beyond there duty they got me in for an exam, and I chose my frames and lenses and was out before 5:00. Would highly recommend them to everyone. Very professional and friendly service as well

My family have been going here for years and every single time I go, I leave happy. We never have to wait long. They have accommodating hours. Dr. Judy, Chris and Tanner are all awesome, make us feel welcome and comfortable. We know they are genuine and honest and I am thankful for how they care for us.

They went out of their way to ensure I was happy with my glasses. I wasnt happy with my glasses when I picked them up, so they completely remade my glasses. They were wonderful to work with, did everything they could do to be sure I was happy with my glasses. My new glasses are great.

I lost my last contact over night. I was upset because I need them to see. I called 4 Dr Tavels. All said that they were full including the one in New Castle. But the woman that worked there called me right back to say there was a cancellation. She did not have to do that. When I arrived at the office all the staff took time out to help me. The office manager talked me into a pair of glasses, which I really did need since it had been years since I had some but worked with me and even helped me pick some out. This is the best Dr Tavel around. I really like the Dr as well as the staff. I would recommend to anyone. The sale that they had on glasses I was able to afford to get them with my contacts.

I did not receive my exam at Dr. Tavel, but I did get 2 pairs of glasses there after speaking with Chris M on the phone who was soooo friendly and helpful. the attention and the care that I received from not only him, but also from Tanner T. and Hanna S. was unbeatable! I probably spent over 2 hours trying to pick out glasses and not only were all 3 of them eager to help me, but they gave me their honest opinion when I asked. they truly care about their customers and treat them like friends!. I have never gotten that kind of care anywhere else!!after hearing about my incredible experience my friend made an appointment for the next day and I went with her and the same crew was just as great with her!! Id rate 100 stars if I could!!

Excellent service! I’m a busy professional with little time. They were able to work with my schedule, remind me of my appointments using my preferred communication methods, and great follow up. Did I mention they helped me find the best contacts at an affordable price? It’s difficult to find good service these days, Dr Tavel does that well. I highly recommend them!

Best Place Ive ever been to.Staff is very helpful and friendly. They got us registered, back with the Doctor, picking out our glasses, and back out the door quickly. They have a good selection of styles, and are affordable. They said the kids would have their new glasses in 2 to 3 weeks. They called me today to let me know they are already in. They only took 5 days!

I had my appointment with Dr Judy. The appointment took less time than I expected. When it came time to pick my new frames they told me exactly what my insurance would cover. For the glasses I wanted the total was almost $800.00. That was due to the extras I wanted. They went over the extras and how much I would owe after the insurance paid their part. The glasses I picked are better than I expected due to they are able to bend without breaking easily. I wanted transition lenses so that added more to the cost. They did offer advice for what I was wanting and they explained why it would be better for me. Now I know next year when I have another eye exam to be prepared to pay out about $300. I will definitely be a lifetime patient of Dr Tavel from now on.

Went in yesterday and Chris Miles was busy on the phone with someone and the other lady was busy also but Chris waved me back to his desk as he hung up the phone and helped me with my glasses and 10 minutes later I was out the door. Went in to get contacts and glasses. Awesome staff. Didn’t even feel like I was at a eye doctors appointment. Very laid back atmosphere. Going to get my glasses this week. Definitely recommend them to anyone that is looking to get eye care.

There is a remarkably friendly staff at Dr. Tavel. Everyone was happy, and not overbearing. I enjoyed my time with them, which was brief because they were swift and efficient. And thier prices were very fair with a wide range to offer. You will not be disappointed; even if you dont have insurance.

The Dr. And staff was very nice and helped with everything I needed no questions. I was told Id have them within two weeks of course I did but with labor day and and them being closed on Wednesday I had to wait till Thursday still u was satisfied. Wish I could of got them in the 7 to 10 day range cause I went 3 weeks without being able to see. That delay though was due to my insurance there was a mix up but was straightened out and things went well afterwards. Thanks Dr. Laura and staff!

I was very impressed with Dr Laura and the staff at Dr Tavel here in New Castle!! They were very kind and helpful, listened to my concerns regarding my previous glasses experiences, and did not try and up sell my services I am very happy, and will definitely return!!

My appointment was April 22,2019 picked up my glasses and they didn’t have the bifocals in them picked them up again. Wore them for a few weeks and decided bifocals just weren’t for yet. And she said if I didn’t like them I could switch them back to single vision. I was told I couldn’t get the original frames I wanted cuz of the bifocals but when I ask to just have single vision they told me I will not be reimbursed for the bifocal charge since I had them remake my glasses in the original frames I picked out... they were gonna have to remake my glasses anyways no matter which frames they were in. My glasses all together were originally 970.00. Very dissatisfied and will never return to dr Tavel. I never had a problem with lens crafters plus in the 34 years of wearing glasses I’ve never had to return them let alone twice. But now 2 months later my glasses are ready to be picked up once again. So frustrating. My son had to send his glasses back too to be corrected and they are good now. But I still am pretty sure we were so over charged maybe cuz we had insurance

My husband had a appointment and they called to change the appointment asking him to come in earlier. He could not leave work. ( claiming that he needed a longer appt because of his age). I was told the person who scheduled the appt was not familiar with their store policies.I scheduled a appointment elsewhere and wrote a review. I received a call from the district manager Andi and she offered a $30 discount and a free glass care kit. I told her I would think about it.I received a call the next day from the store manager Amber she offered me a reflective coating free...in addition to the previous offer. I explained that I really needed the glasses the next week we were planning a vacation. She said she would put a rush on them.and we should have them back the next week.Went to scheduled appt at 6:30 did not get seen until 7:30 ( keep in mind we were told previously that he needed a longer appt due to his age.) He had his eye exam and glasses picked out and we left the store before the 8 pm closing time. Paid for the glasses no $30 discount.On Monday I noticed the receipt said plastic lenses not glass..requested they be changed to glass.Did not receive the glasses early.....it took 3 weeks to get them. When I spoke to Andi she said the delay was due to a equipment breakdown which the store manger did not mention during our conversations about when the glasses would be ready.Picked up the glasses ( no discount, no glass care kit) the sun tint is extremely light. My husband took them into be checked and the clerk said it was verily there, she would let Amber know. Did not hear from anyone just phoned the excuse I was given about the tinting was that the lenses are glass and they wont tint any darker.Thats strange my glasses are several times darker ....his old glasses are several times darker....Long story ....lesson learned if you have a bad feeling dont give them your business.

The staff was very helpful and very polite. Every time I come in they will adjust my glasses for me.

The Dr was very friendly and explained things well, however they lady receptionist was not helpful. She wouldnt even help my son with the glasses we did it ourselves. She didnt know how to bill the two different insurances. Needless to say my son was upset as was I. Dont think we will be returning there in the future.
