Best bagels in New Hyde Park! Place is always packed but the line moves quickly. I love that they make egg sandwiches some bagel spots only have spreads. They have mini bagels and they will scoop out a regular bagel you if you are watching your carbs.

I know they’re voted best but I don’t agree. I stopped going for a while, tried them again but I’m really just done. While service is quick since they have a lot of help, it’s not worth it if I’m not satisfied with the whole of it. At 7 am on Sat the bagel trays are practically empty and they’re still making bagels - they should be full by that time. The bagels that are left are well over baked, hard, burned and taking up space; just showcasing the real emptiness of the tray. Also, most the other bagels are just a few minutes over cooked so they are just slightly hard- and even harder to chew. I ordered a bagel with schmeer and I got 1/4 of cheese on a poorly cut bagel. See for yourself.

Best bagels, worst egg sandwiches! They have children making egg sandwiches and theyre clueless. Asked for sesame bagel with bacon and received one slice of bacon.Management to blame for not training them properly. Took 25 minutes to get my egg sandwich. Please hire a short order cook to do the egg sandwiches! In Manhattan it takes 3-5 minutes and theyre busier than you!

Always busy in the morning. But food is good. Like the personal cups. The workers need to relax and feel more comfortable. It would go along way to make the customers feel wanted. If customers feel at home theyll talk together and waiting is not a problem.

Had to take a quick trip to NY for a meeting. Stopped to pick up an everything bagel for my ride home. It was absolutely the best bagel I have had. Wish I picket up a couple of more. Service was fast and friendly. Thanks

It seems like you have to be familiar with this location and their menu before you arrive. They have limited to 5 customers in the store at a time due to Covid so know your stuff before you go in. Only problem is the line comes out the door and there isn’t a menu posted outside or online. Once you come inside, not everything is listed on their menu. Besides that, the bagels are excellent! I would go with a classic bagel with cream cheese instead of a sandwich. You also have the option to order multiple bagels with cream cheese on the side if you’re taking it to go. Highly recommended if you’re looking for fresh bagels in the area.

Bagels are always fresh, fluffy on the inside and toasty on the outside! Just so tasty! I’ve gotten regular cream cheese and then diff fillings like egg sausage cheese and they’ve all been so amazing! They also have different options for ordering- via calling, texting or you can place the order online too or you can just go in and order in person! They definitely have that efficiency thing going which is really helpful given the size of the place is very small and not conducive to many people waiting at the same time! Definitely come here for your bagel needs!! So good! Almost forgot their iced coffee has iced coffee ice cubes! So unique and awesome

I have ordered delivery and also been here in person. The bagels are really good — fluffy, soft, fresh. Probably one of the best in the neighborhood, and I’ve been to a lot of bagel spots! The vegetable cream cheese was also delicious — uses fresh-cut veggies. The jalapeño cream cheese was a bit bland. Iced coffee is excellent.

If do not care about spending more and getting horrible service this is the place for you. You will wait for someone to attend to you when they feel like it while there is no line at all. Waited for 12 mins before asking if someone can help to only be told “be with you soon” and they disappear in the back, not sure if people taking the order are making the food also in the back? Is that not a health violation of some kind!!! This is to be expected when you have a short term staff working and do not know customer service at all.

Love this old school bagel spot. Were talking cream cheese piled high on a bagel, great bagel sandwiches, the works. Their bagels are wonderful, old school boiled and delicious! Theres always a big morning rush, so order ahead of time on their website to save yourself some time.

Their bagels are amazing. My usual is a cinnamon raisin bagel with scallion cream cheese. Absolutely perfect when the rolls are super fresh and soft. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it right now. Sometimes I also get a breakfast sandwich mostly bacon egg and cheese. Just everything is always perfect and fresh. Oh and before I forget about the employees.. they are great. Very nice people work here. They are always seem very mature and professional. I love that feeling. Great place. Best bagels in the area, 4 stars because they really need to work on text orders, the service is waaaay. too slow. and it’s disappointing. You will be waiting for a while and your probably better off just standing on the regular line to order.

Huge bagels with wonderful crust and a soft halfway spongy middle. Absolutely delicious. I challenge anyone to find a better bagel. Everything is made on premises. Bagels are mixed, hand rolled and put in the boiler before theyre baked. The selection of bagels- a really good selection of everyday favorites from whole wheat everything, egg, plain, cinnamon raisin, sesame, whole wheat, pumpernickel, everything.....to flavors of the day such as sesame semolina or banana walnut chocolate chip...its amazing and always fresh. Sometimes still steaming when its cut open in front of you. The selection of lox and cream cheese - plain, scallion, walnut raisin, lox cream cheese...is very large. They have a fully stocked deli section for all kinds of sandwiches too. Great place, but be prepared that sometimes the kids who worked here when theyre off from school will mess up your order.

The bagels are really good, I love their breakfast sandwiches. The lines are usually long. I have been doing the pre order pick up method and I have to be honest this is where they fall horribly short. I always go 30mins later then the time given to me and it’s still never ready. I once went 40 mins late and still had to wait another 25mins. They always leave something out or get my order wrong. Usually it’s a small mess up, today they left out a whole bagel with cream cheese and nova. I went back told them what happened, this girl ran in the back grabbed a bagel handed it to me and I went back home and… it was the wrong bagel. I should have double checked at the store but at this point I gave up, and lost out on $5 because there was a $5 price difference. Some may say it’s because they have young teens working there but honestly I think if management/owners implemented a systematic way of taking care of the orders problems could go down by a lot. Most of the time people are super frustrated in the pick up line because the wait is way…. longer then the regular order line which always super long.Maybe I will just go back to ordering in the regular line because the wait time is same or shorter. But I may just find somewhere else where I can do pick up.I would like to say I go on Saturday’s between 9-11am so I do understand this is a busy time but the fact that I go purposely late and it’s still not ready is a little cringe worthy. Or sometimes it’s ready but there are 5 people ahead of me and they are making the first persons stuff because it wasn’t ready but not asking the other people in line what their name or order # is to hand off what is ready so they can reduce the line.Again I don’t hold the young teens accountable for this, I really think management needs to step in and give directions on how to make it more smooth sailing.Otherwise they make a mean breakfast bagel sandwich. Oh an the ice coffee is also good.

We were quite skeptical about this place, but after receiving multiple recommendations from people about how this is one of the few places that serves real New York bagels, we gave it a try. Were now faced with a serious existential crisis. Is this really what a New York bagel should taste like? Weve tried a lot of bagels before, and some even claims to be hand rolled New York bagel made with saltwater. But the bagels at this place was something else. Its like getting a Boudin Sourdough in San Francisco and discovering that this is what sourdough bread should be. The bagels served at Hand Rolled Bagels has a very unique light and fluffy texture. Not quite as soft as bread, but definitely nowhere near the density of a normal bagel. The store itself has a very inefficient counter service system, but nobody seems to be in a big rush in Long Island. The seating is limited, and the typical bagel toppings/spreads are available. We ended up getting our bagels to-go and dressing one of them up at home.

In my opinion, Hand Rolled has the best bagels on Long Island, maybe even in the New York City area as well. This place is what I think of when someone says New York Bagel and the prices are worth it because theyre big and fluffy and extremely filling. There are always some in our freezer, but theyre best fresh!

Maybe this place used to be great... but theyve gone DOWNHILL. Theyve become cheap with the food... and tack on hidden Misc charges onto their recipes. The chicken salad is ok but the BLT is one of the worst Ive ever had. I could only describe it as a gross bacon sandwich because there was no tomato and very little lettuce. Coffee was cold... Orange Juice was warm.1 star.

Good NY bagels. I had the everything bagel with egg and cheese - I also had an additional vegetable cream cheese spread which is not a typical order but they did for me and it was very good! Coffee isnt good and I would not get that next time. If you are in the area and are craving bagels, this is the place to go.

Just moved back into the neighborhood after being gone for almost 15 years and this place is still here! I got an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was bomb.

Line is always long which shows how popular they are but service is always fast. If you try only one bagel from here, let it be their blueberry bagel. It is soo good. Will stop here whenever I’m in town

Hand rolled is a rip off price wise it’s not even worth it. I will never come back, I always gave them business as well as my fellow coworkers.Now i am deciding to stay far away from this place

Their bagels are top 1% in NY if not the best. Garlic herb cream cheese is best CC I’ve ever had. They obviously get busy so that creates a wait at times.

Terrible service. Took 40 mins to get my bagel that i ordered ahead. When i was trying to get food they dont even acknowledge that you are there.

The bagels themselves are delicious.The service is HORRIBLE. I get a bagel with butter and there’s MINMAL butter on it. I walk in and there are about 7 girls behind the counter standing in a circle gossiping. The line begins to form and they continue to stand and talk. When they decide to separate they stand with their backs to the line of customers. One of the girls finally decided to do her job and started with “everyone is being helped right”. Not sure why there were 10 people behind the counter not doing anything and there was still a line. As if that wasn’t enough they were moving extremely SLOW.

I had to open the door and peek-in to realize if I and others could be inside with safely distanced.I am probably one of those minor customers who find it annoying.

Great bagels. Perhaps the worst service on LI. This past Sat is last time I am going to this place on a weekend. At 9am...2 people on line. Get to counter in 4 mins. Order 8 bagels. 4 butter and 4 cream cheese. 4 coffee and 4 drinks from fridge. It took 41 mins to get my order. Had 2 people doing mobile orders. The rest of the staff were almost useless. Never again. Service has dropped even before Covid 19

First off, I will say that the bagels here are tasty. I have visited a few times to feel it out. Are they worth the NYC prices? Debatable... I held off writing this review because I really wanted to like this place. It has character with the hand drawn signs and the bagel man with the mustache.The reason I gave this place 2 stars was because of the service, which is hit or miss between pleasant or grouchy. The service can also be rather slow depending on who you end up with. What really got me was I was grossly over charged for 3 bagels and one with cream cheese on the side. $13.50, I paid cash so it didnt even include the service charge they throw on for using a credit or debit card. I happened to be in a hurry and didnt check to closely but hindsight reveals this should have only been 9 bucks at most. Shame on me for missing that.On top of that, when I opened up the bagel with cream cheese on the side, the bagel was almost cut entirely in half, it looked like they realized their mistake because it wasnt completely cut into semicircles, but they stopped short just a bit. Now it was split, which is expected, but it was extremely frustrating to spend cream cheese on four pieces of bagel, esp being poppy seed.So, if you enjoy hit or miss service with the NY attitude and the city prices, this may very well be the Haven you have been looking for. Personally, I will pass.

Usually this place is really good. I like their bagels and have been a customer for years! I ordered a dozen today and specifically asked for very light bagels/the lightest you have. Unfortunately I got just the opposite. Its not like I can take them back and thats well over two weeks of bagels that I dont like. This isnt the first time this has happened.I guess I either have to try another shop or actually be there when I make the order................

Not sure how Ive gone so long not knowing about this place. My new go to bagel place in my neighborhood. Love that you can order online and pick up. Cuts down on wait time which there usually is on the weekend. Bagels are always fresh and nice and soft inside. I love that they will add cucumber to any sandwich! Ice coffee is also very good here. Not the least expensive spot but Id rather pay extra for quality.

This place is great! I first had their bagels when a coworker brought them to work, and ever since than, Ive been dreaming of them. The bagels are always so big, soft and just a piece of delight. I finally went to their store front and both times they gave me excellent customer service. Im new to New York and people here havent really been too welcoming compared to what Im use to but they sure were. Just way beyond my expectations and it was just honestly so refreshing. Thank you guys, and please keep doing what youre doing. Its awesome!!

The bagels are good and the sandwiches are good as well. However, I paid $9.27 for a sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel with a medium hot coffee. Its just too expensive for that. I pay $5-6 for all that in Brooklyn Heights and its just as good. Will keep searching for a bagel joint that is well worth it. Getting harder to find out here.

I only come here because the bagels are delicious and frankly the best around. Unfortunately, I am having more and more of a hard time justifying coming here because the service is HORRIBLE. Out of the last 10 visits I have made here, they have gotten my order wrong 7 times (both in store and online orders). On top of this, almost all of the employees are very rude. Its frustrating to wait in line for forever and not get addressed, when there are several employees mulling around in the front not servicing customers (because theyre on break and talking about it, despite there being a line out the door) and even more of them in the back visibly standing around eating and not working. If youre working but not working then as a customer I dont really want to see you, because it just makes me feel like I am wasting my time standing in line for an extended period of time. Furthermore, when the line is out the door, and people have been waiting for 15 minutes without so much as an acknowledgement, to then receive the wrong food from rude people is very disappointing. This is not a one time thing. I have had to ask for refunds here before because of wrong orders, for example, when we pay far too much extra for accoutrements (tomatoes, cheese, etc.) on a sandwich but they get left off, but I do not ordinarily write bad reviews. This is truly unacceptable though. Hands down my least favorite place to go simply because of the people and the way things are run. A real shame, as the bagels are very good.

What else can I say? The bagels are a healthy size and delicious. There are numerous bagel and spread options. Service is nice and quick. What more do you need from a bagel spot?

These are some of the best bagels on the island hands down. I live outside of New York now, but every time I come back to visit family, this is at the top of the list for breakfast. Delicious bagels, so fluffy its like eating pillows. I bring a bunch back with me to give to my friends and they absolutely love it. They have lines out the door sometimes so make sure you get there at the right time or youll be waiting a bit

I had a everything bagel with egg & cheese. Must say their bagels are really yummy but it does take sometime for them to prepare and hand it to you. Do have some patience once you are there to order it unless you call and place the order.

We have always loved their bagels. Many people must feel the same due to the enormous line that forms. If youre in the mood for a great bagel with homemade cream cheese I would definitely recommend going here. Dont let the line discourage you it is worth the wait. Of course that line will depend on the time of day you are arriving.
