If you use this business, deal with Sammy ONLY. He was very personal with me, giving me surprisingly detailed information about my repair options. He gave extremely personal service and A+ communication, and told me that since he is running his office from his home that he was able to spend more time with me rather if he was at his storefront, which is usually busy that he cant devote as much time as he could as he can now. He also told me that he is outsourcing some of his repairs until his second location opens. He told me that he is opening a small second location to focus more on servicing customers and doing quality work. He has management that takes care at Wrens, but will be personally involved at his second new location. Im going to wait until hes setup and am a little hyped up lol. I can say that it was a very interested choice to call them, and after talking to the owner, i have made up my mind.
Sammy the owner and his whole staff were very professional as well as showed genuine concern for my needs. All the worked they performed was some of the best I have ever seen and I have been in the automotive industry for over 20 years. They kept me up to date on everything being done to my vehicle and took me in during the pandemic and made it a point to show me how important their customers are to this business. I will suggest Wrens to all my friends and family, Top notch business. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me.
Had a huge rust spot under the spoiler on my treasured 96 Land Cruiser (see first pic). Called around for quote and most places wouldnt even take the job! Guess people just dont need money anymore... (smh) Thank goodness I remembered Wrens there on Tchop. Called them and not only were they very nice, they were also very reasonably priced. When I got there Sammy was super helpful, knowledgeable and very nice. The whole experience was so good that I also got some cosmetic work done while it was there. I had removed my fender flares (lips above the wheel wells) and that had left about 20 little holes above my wheels all around the truck. While the truck was at Wrens I worked with the very nice lady in the office (feel awful cant remember her name!) and we came to a great price on patching the holes and repainting the panels.Although it took a couple of weeks, when the work was done, I was literally amazed by how great the truck looked. The original color is not very common and they matched it perfectly. The fiberglass work really looks like the truck was made that way, I truly could not be happier with the results and the price.I highly recommend Wrens for cosmetic or accident work, they take the time and do it right and for a reasonable price and you dont have to drive to the boonies to get it done, its on Tchopitoulas and Napoleon! Great job guys, Ill be coming back to get my hood and roof painted.
Dont trust these people. They were recommended to me after an accident. I took the car to them and they insisted it was totaled (it was not driveable to any other location, so I stupidly didnt get a second opinion), and then bought it off of me. 2 1/2 years later, I get a notice that the car was towed--still registered under my name! The towing company tells me they found *14* car titles just laying around in the back seat of the vehicle. I dont know what theyve been up to with the car for the past 2 1/2 years, but they never re-registered it and someone was driving it around. Good thing I have the license plate.
A man named sami helped me wh uhen my tire went flat while driving down their road. I pulled into their building when it looked like they were closing for the day. They said that they would put the spare tire on for me that way I will be able to drive to a tire shop the next day. The problem was I did not have a spare. Sammie rummaged through the tire that they had there in stock until to my surprise, found spare tire that would fit my car .not only did he stay behind after everyone was leaving for the day, he refused accept my mone! Needless to say,, mind blown. Uh
I want to thank the good people at Wren’s for helping me with my PT Cruiser. My car broke down and they were a life saver for me. ☺️ I will always appreciate the expertise and kind attention they gave me. (2017)
Ive had body and paint work done here for minor/ major collision work for years now. The painting that they do always looks perfect and beautiful. One thing I like about sammy is that hes always willing to work with me with my deductible no matter if i have a small job or big job, another thing is that they detail my car before they deliver it to me. they have slowed a bit after covid but are definitely worth my wait. i wont take my car aywhere else.
Ive been going to Sammy’s shop as long as I’ve been driving. He’s honest and is fair with his prices. He was closed for a few months because Coronavirus, but now he’s reopening and I got him to take in my car ( even though he his team isn’t taking any cars yet!) I will only use Sammy because i can deal with him directly. Some advice only deal with him tho
Sammy goes above and beyond for his customers, Ill never take a car anywhere else.Someone ripped the moonroof clean off my car to steal some change & CDs...never seen anything like it. I rolled into Wrens around 5 oclock on a Friday, with my car in such sad condition and left with a smile on my face. Go see Sammy. Hes my man!
I went in for an oil change. When I came to pick up my car, they wanted over $130. When I complained about the the rediculus price they then said it was on the house, because they hadnt given me a written estimate. When I got home, I discovered that they hadnt changed the oil. Maybe this was an a mistake, but it would also explain why they were so okay with not charging me. They also were not wearing masks, during the pandemic, and someone was smoking in the office. I will never allow them to touch my car again.Edit: After five months, they then made this outrageous claim that I was somehow rude to them, and claim that I make these sort of claims to get a discount. They apparently remembered someone who came in, for an oil change, five months later? They made no offer to show me the oil filter. Im not going to say how I know that the oil hadnt been changed. Since I dont want to allow them to cover their tracks next time.
Brought my car here after a fender bender that my insurance was paying to address. While they claimed to have a loaner car available when I called, it wasn’t available. I called for updates about every other day and they were always about to put in the order for the parts needed. I ended up having a rental car for a month before the loaner was finally available. After spending $1,000 on a rental, the loaner was available. I started using the loaner car it is was almost an excuse to take even longer to repair my car. They had it another 3 weeks before they said it was ready. When I picked it up, there was garbage inside including a cigarette pack. I cleaned my car out and headed to take my foster dog to her new home. Car started overheating while I was on the bridge and then it wouldn’t start when I was trying to leave. I called Wren’s immediately, surprisingly someone answered. He told me to take an Uber that he would reimburse me for and would have the car towed back to the shop. The new dog owner called to tell me two days later to say that my car hadn’t been towed from in front of his house. When I called Wren’s again, he sounded surprised it hadn’t been towed but clearly it wasn’t in his shop. He took it back to the shop that night. They repaired it and a week later I was told to pick it up, again. I picked it up during the day but when I tried to go somewhere that night, the new headlights didn’t work. Back to the shop the next day, they fixed the headlights after a couple days. Experience was two months, cost me my $500 insurance deductible, $1,000 in rental fees, was super inconvenient and he never paid for my Uber.
Had my car repaired at Wrens and the service was amazing! My car was ready within 2 days! And the staff was great! Sammy explained every step of my repairs to me and the cost was very friendly! I’d recommend them to all of my friends!
Wonderful customer service, fast fix. Sammy stayed much later past closing to help and was incredibly kind and knowledgable. Id highly recommend this place to anyone
Where do I start? Brought my car in with the ac not cooling. Three weeks later, they still have the car and I have to contact them repeatedly throughout that three weeks to get updates. Final call I was finally told the car was ready. Over $700 in repairs to the ac. Two days later, Monday, driving the car home from work and the ac goes out. Call to let them know so I can bring it in and the guy tells me not to bring it in until Wednesday because they are “busy.” So get to go two more days without A/C. Now the car has been there a week with no communication AGAIN on their part. I call to find out what’s going on and they say they have checked it twice and it’s working. We need to bring it back when the ac isn’t working. I tell him that’s exactly what I tried to do on that Monday and was told you were too busy and now the car has been sitting there for a week and no one even called to tell me to come pick it up...I had to call every single freaking time. Now, went to go pick up the car and talk to the owner, Roger or Robert, honestly can’t remember because I’m so annoyed. My husband leaves with the car while I’m talking to him. No real apology from the owner, just blaming someone who he said he fired because he is ruining his reputation, which I don’t believe for the sole reason I had to call to check up on my car and received no communication from them. If the guy was so horrible and making your reputation so bad, you should have been going down the list of vehicles in your garage and make sure everyone was being taken care of and updated on their car’s situation. Didn’t happen. When I get home, I have the pleasure of learning the AC stopped working as my husband made it home. I call them to let them know this and that I just want my $700+ back as the ac was never fixed. 1 month wasted. 93 degrees outside. No apology. Roger said he is leaving for the day and to call him tomorrow, not he’ll call me and he will make it right. I need to track him down. Long ass post, but if you want the run around and to be royally screwed, come here. If you want an ounce of customer service go anywhere else. I plan on getting my money back and going somewhere else. Sure will be nice to sweat out this week driving to work. Thanks for nothing, Wren’s.
Wrens is a first class operation!!! Sammy and his team do A++ work and have repaired many of my cars. The result looks good as NEW, sometimes even better. Wrens also provides phenomenal customer service, and sets themselves apart by treating every job, big and small, like its the most important thing in front of them. Highly recommended!!
I can’t speak highly enough about the wonderful experience I had, and the customer service given to me by Sammie. I messed up my front bumper on Friday evening, and based on the damage, I was worried that I would have to replace the entire bumper. I wanted to get it taken care of as soon as possible and Wren’s was one of the only shops I could find that was open on Saturdays. I drove into the garage and Sammie immediately greeted me and assured me that all my car needed was a quick part replacement that would take less than an hour. I was so relieved! On top of everything, I was given a great price on the work I received. I would absolutely recommend going to Wren’s if you’re having car trouble.
I bought a car from Sammy and wrecked it the same week but thankfully he handled the claim for me and everything I really and happy with all he done for me because Im a single mom and dont really have anyone who I can trust when I need my car fixed but Im definitely not going to go anywhere else he really helped me and i feel he needs props NO CAP
Albert was the kindest and most attentive mechanic
This is a great place with even better people. I am a college kid whos car got wrecked by a friend driving it. I had never really had to deal with accidents only being 19 years old. They walked me through my options and communicated with me well the entire time. They even dropped me off and picked me up when the car was done also, they cleaned my cars interior and exterior. I highly recommend. Katie was a lot of help.
The atmosphere is friendly service is good with lots work going on. I would recommend this place to get your auto body repairs talk to Sammy or someone in the office if you have any questions about the repairs. Talk to them about oil changes, tire rotation, auto wash, wax, detailing, and polish.Wrens a full auto service center.
Just got my Camry painted, lovely job. Really quick and professional. I feel like I have a new car almost!! The price was fair, and the work was completed ahead of schedule. Very satisfied.
I am a student at Tulane University and I am usually really busy during the weekday so finding a body shop that opens during the weekend is really hard. I decided to drive down Tchoupitoulas Street and check out if any shops are open and Wren was the only one. I took a leap of faith and went in.Let me just say, for strangers, Sammie is incredibly friendly, and not in a creepy way at all. Hes the kind of person that will deliver you all the way when you need help! I was involved in a hit-and-run accident two weeks prior and I wanted to ask him for an estimate on how much it would cost to buff the scratches out. Instead of just doing what I had originally planned, which would require me to pay a lot of money out of pocket, he helped me file a police report as well as an insurance claim so that I can take the most advantage out of the situation and keep my money! The policeman arrived half an hour late and the whole situation took more than two hours. Sammie stayed with me the whole entire time with no complaints and a smile on his face, even if it was after hours. Because I am a student, I was not very familiar with the terminologies regarding cars and insurance that the policeman was using and Sammie really helped me decipher them.On top of being so helpful, Sammie also helped me buff out scratches on my car that were not a part of the hit and run, OUT OF HIS OWN KINDNESS!!! I was not charged, and I joined him in buffing the scratches out. In doing so, I really got to know him as a person. He has a good heart and has a lot of knowledge about cars and the mechanics behind it, which I dont doubt at all because he was a mechanical engineering major in college. We talked about various subjects while buffing the car, and ended up finishing at 9PM. I repeat, 9, PM. Time really flew by when you have good company.Youre never going to find a mechanic as knowledgeable, honest, and kind as Sammie. I highly recommend this place and especially Sammie. Save your money now and go see him!
When I first moved to New Orleans two years ago, I had the misfortune of popping two tires in the same week on the pothole ridden streets uptown. The second time, I hobbled my car to Wren’s on the suggestion of my roommate and they patched my tire up so quickly, and didn’t charge me as a “welcome to the city” gift! Really lively and lovely service.
Repairer Beware: They had my car in their possession for over 4 months and it still was not repaired. It was my mistake for taking my fancy German car there in the first place after a bad wreck. I wanted to support a local, family-owned business based in my neighborhood. (Mistake!) Other problems:1.) Unreturned phone calls. They never call you back.2.) Dishonesty: Grossly inaccurate estimates of time required to complete repairs. (They initially told me my car would be repaired in one month....they kept it for 3. It was still not fully fixed. I then left it with them for an additional six weeks, during which they damaged the car more.)3.) Theft: They replaced a damaged tire with a bald/used tire (my insurance company paid for a new one), which almost resulted in a wreck on the interstate with my children in the car.4.) They left bolts unscrewed, resulting in more damage to my car.5.) They smoke inside their office, which is just disgusting.Sadly, this once great local business is being mismanaged into the ground. Dont go there. Vargas on Magazine or G&R Automotive on Louisiana are probably better options.
I had a great experience! I definitely recommend. Sammie was great, told me he could do the work and he kept his word.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE HORRIBLE. I thought they did a good job with my paint job when someone hit me in the parking lot and thats why I went back. HORRIBLE MISTAKE. I got in an accident around Christmas of 2017, and I brought my car to be fixed because I was in a fender bender. My trunk was messed up and my bumper. I was dealing with Sammy, who is the son of the owner, and he said, he could fix my car in two weeks flat at the most. He even said one week. Well he lied big time. Long story short. I stayed in contact with these people on a regular basis, because every time these people said they would call me back they didnt. I also had to show up to the shop, because these people would not even answer the phone. Plus, when I went to pick up my car after three weeks and was about to drive off, they hadnt even fixed my trunk nor had my paperwork for my warranty ready. So I left the car there, because I knew they wouldnt order the parts if I left. Sammy assured me that they would finish it by next week. Next week, arrives and Sammy has disappeared. They dont know when he will back, so I had to deal with owner, and he was something else. He was like my assistant is not here and I dont know where any of the paperwork is. This type of conversation went on for a week. Oh and my warranty paperwork which took like 20 min still wasnt done. So next week, comes, and I called him and he said that I need to come out there to show him whats wrong with the car. I need to show the car shop people whats wrong????!!!! Major red flag. So I show him the pieces, and they claim they are going to order them. Then, I called to make sure they ordered a couple days later, and they werent. At this point he wants to write me a 100 dollar check which is way less than the cost of the parts. I told him no and to order my parts. Finally, the assistant answer the phone and says, that she has expressed ordered them. Then it take like three more days for the part to get put on. For a two week fix, it took them six weeks to do work!!! Oh and did I mention that they have software that showed them what parts needed to be ordered???!!! STAY AWAY, AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!!
Wrens is an approachable auto shop that takes the apprehension out of the process. The staff goes out of its way to help customers; we had a dead car in the drive way, and they came to us to help jump it and then drive it to get a new battery. The body work looks good, too.
Sammy is awesome. I was totally lost today, I was just trying to help my friend with a flat tire. Tracy fixed my tire and put it back on. Sammy was kind and fun while I waited. I will defiantly go back and if you are looking for a helpful group of people this is the place to go!!!!!!
Sammy is a light to this city. He helps and really cares about people and their cars. I can’t say enough about the workmanship and customer care he provides. Wrens is the only place I’ll bring my vehicle to if something goes wrong.
My husband purchased a car through wrens and they cut us an amazing deal they took such great care of us we stayed the whole day! We came as car buyers and left as friends. Will definitely be back and recommend them highly! -Toni & Jake Mandeville LA
I never thought Id have a favorite body shop but now I do. I tried this place out to get my front quarter panel fixed after having some unsatisfactory work done at another shop. I picked Wrens just because it was the closest place to my house and they took my insurance. The work was beautiful, and it really looked like nothing had ever happened. In addition to that, the experience is great. The waiting lobby is never boring and theyll usually give you free rides if you live close or on the way to where theyre going. Ill still keep going even if I move out of this neighborhood.
I had a great experience at Wrens. I was in need of repairs before heading out of town. The accident to my car ( not my fault!) needed to be fixed before driving out. The guys there, Sammy and Crystal ( not sure if I spelled that right), the two people in the office, took in my car and made sure i was sorted out with a rental. They repaired my car in 3 days, even though they were booked up. When I picked up my car, it looked fantastic! It was nice, shiny and clean, and even drove better!( they said I needed an alignment being that I was hitting the road, so they did that) Overview for me is that Id send my mum, dad, and all of my friends and family there if they ever need accident repairs. In my opinion, Wrens looks like a nice independant business to deal with. I liked them.
My car sat outside on the street - unlocked - for a week before I finally called like whats the status? The guy didnt even know it was out there which is fine but he also didnt care. Hed already turned off the OPEN sign for the day and was scrolling his phone.Called back the next day for a status update. Different guy but equally inept. Slurring his words and couldnt give me a straightforward answer about why my car hadnt been addressed yet after 7 days.Owner is cool and probably a decent businessman, but his staff needs to legit tighten up. I flnever write reviews but I cant believe theyre still in business with this kind of new customer experience so to whoevers reading this: go somewhere else.
Dropped my car off on a Friday to have a small repair job done on one of the side doors. Was told it would be ready and done by Saturday. Monday evening rolls around and they had not started working on it.Very disappointed in the lack of service. Especially disappointed because I was told repeatedly there would be no issues because it was an easy fix and that a three day turnover would be no problem.
My husband was in an accident in our Yukon and took it to Wrens for repairs because he is retired NOPD and Wrens fixed cars for the department. The repairs took quite a while and Im still wondering why because they only did half of the work they were supposed to do! They replaced one headlight (the one destroyed in the crash) but left the old, yellowed headlight . It left the truck looking uneven. This wouldnt have been a big deal (since it was mainly cosmetic), but they never aligned the hood so that light eventually collected water and burnt up! The drivers side, front rim that was damaged in the wreck was never replaced, nor was the front end aligned. The woman that hit my husband on the passenger front end with diagonal force --- its a no brainer that the car would need to be aligned ESPECIALLY if the rim on the other side was damaged from it being pushed against the curb! They charged outrageous prices for work they NEVER did!!! Im surprised NOPD would do any business with these people --- they ought to be put in jail for the scam theyre running! Dont do business with them!!!
Leave it to the pros for fast, reasonably priced, good quality work and a convenient location. Im happy to have had my car repaired here.
Absolute garbage of a business. Had our car towed there based on positive reviews. We watched our car sit in the same parking spot across the street from their shop for two weeks as they lied to us when we called to ask about our car. We were told they took it to two different shops of theirs to try to work on it but were having trouble with the car. Not once did they contact us, we had to contact them every time. When we told them we lived around the corner and had seen our car not move from its spot for 2 weeks, the manager acted as if he had been given wrong information from his employees. We have had our car towed to a more competent shop and will never return to Wrens nor will we ever recommend this place. Useless.
I had a great experience! I definitely recommend them.
Loved the service and staff. That Sammy is professional and great not to mention adorable
No accountability, shady work, took 2 weeks to do minor job and then refused to reimburse for car rental.
If you want to wait 15 days for a 2 days repair I definitely recommend this place!
The guys there put a spray on bed liner on my truck while i waited. It took a little while, but it was a really fun experience hangin out in their waiting room watching three stooges and talking w sammy lol. even bought me a shrimp po-boy for lunch. wanted some body work too, but he had to schedule me in, which i dont mind at all.
Whatever you do, don’t go here
Best dudes!
