7 months they had my car this year to fix a tapping in the head after they built the engine and they cant figure it out. Two times they say the car is good to go and no even 100 miles later theres metal through the engine. Its gotten to the point I have ti take the car elsewhere
I can not say enough good things about XenDrive Motorsports.I have a 2015 WRX STi, and I asked them to do a stage 3 build pushing about 350whp. Brandon & Tom are a pleasure to work with, and their prices are better than the competition. Brandon sent me daily updates on the car, as well as gave me tips on choosing my parts. Hes proven himself to be a really honest guy, and I trust him with my car 100%.I recommend XenDrive for anyone who is looking to mod their Subaru. These guys will give you expert advice, and great work for the price. I drove all the way from Central NJ to have them work on my car. 10/10
We had an 08 forester that had gone through 7 visits at Mid-Hudson Subaru after head gasket replacement. Mid-Hudson tore the gasket when they installed it, couldnt figure out the oil consumption issue, stated compression and leak down was all in spec... which it wasnt. The short block died due to oil starvation while we were trying to go through the right steps over there... Gave up on them and came to DDA... DDA dropped in a lightly used long block, replaced a few gaskets and swapped out the power steering pump. Great service, great communication... Price quoted was more than fair and the work was done within the original quote. I could not recommend them more... Had I gone to them for the head gasket instead of the dealer, I would have saved two years of headaches at Mid-Hudson. As soon as I get my other project vehicle reassembled, Ill be heading back.
Haven’t used them yet, but Remy is quick to respond which is great and I’ve heard great things about his tunes.
If highly recommend this place to anyone. Theyre clean, they care, they listen. Bless up to Remy! Wish him nothing but more business.
Great young professionals
I’ve been going to Remy for 4 years now. I have a 03 evo 8 fully built and has only been tuned by him. My motor now has over 10k and hasn’t ever skip a beat. If you wonder why I’ve been going to him for 4 years it’s because the car was originally set up for drag. Got bored of straight line racing and went to road racing. We all know it’s a completely different tune. Now I’ve been road racing for 2 years now and the tune has never been off. The power band if very linear and makes good power on low boost. The guys over a DDA do their very best to produce quality builds and tunes. Don’t let others tell other wise! Remy has always been easy to talk to and understanding and is always willing to revise the tune if needed. Highly highly recommended!!!
If you have an Evo don’t go anywhere else.My car pulls HARD after getting retuned by Remy.Came in with loads of knock because of a bad tune from another tuner. My car would’ve exploded if it wasn’t for this shop; I was driving a ticking time bomb. Thank you my brother.
Top notch shop with Top notch workersTook my GTR to Remy after hearing this guy has the magic touch when it comes to working on cars. Glad I listen to what people were saying, got some tranny work and some other goodies done. They even went the extra mile and washed the car before I picked it up.Great job guys and thanks for the super work to my GTR
Great place, very friendly, very knowledgeable. Would recommend it for anyone that needs work on their car! Wouldnt go anywhere else.
Truly one of the best, and most trust worth people out there. I have worked with Remy when I first had my Evo X which had so many electrical issues. The car has never been as good as it is now. Currently doing an engine build with Remy. It has been a good, and long 4 years. Thanks Remy!
Outstanding customer service and superior work!
I’ve brought my Mitsubishi to multiple shops and not one compares to DDA. These guys are perfectionists that go above and beyond for their customers. I’ve had my car built and tuned by them and it’s been running strong with 0 issues for about 8 months now. Between the great work, great pricing, great customer service and expert advice; I’d say you’re foolish to go elsewhere. Keep up the good work guys!!
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! GO TO A GOOD SHOP INSTEAD! Long story short, my timing belt went bad within 1 mile from the shop after being tuned with resulted in the valves getting damaged and then they wouldn’t even cover the damages! Then i had to go to a different shop to fix what Remy and his team did to my car! A lot of good talk but very sh*tty work!
Young professionals.
Remy always taking of his customers, have the same built motor on my Evo for over 3 years now running 30 lbs of boost and running with no problems. Highly recommend the shop
Great people here.. i am super nervous about people doing stuff to my car for me but everyone there knows exactly what they are doing and will give you the best service they can and this place wont bs you. There was also other tune shops closer to me than this one.. but i decided to go with this one and i surely didnt regret it! Thanks again to everyone that was there. Very happy with everything and will for sure be back when i need another tune👍 10/10
DDA Tuned is awesome! Dont believe the one star reviews, theyre garbage and theyre only telling one side of the story. Believe me, Ive been bringing my car here for YEARS, I know how these guys operate, and Ive never had a single problem with them. If they make a mistake, as we all do - they ALWAYS make it right.. theyre professionals, and they know Subarus. +1 for DDA!
I brought my 2012 WRX to DDA and both Remy and Brandon were a pleasure to work with. They were incredibly upfront about everything and guided me through the entire process, helping me choose parts to make sure the setup was what I wanted.Brandon is a genius with the boxer engine and made me confident with what he built. He gave me frequent updates and was more than willing to answer, what I would consider to be, my dumb questions. As a rookie to the upgrade scene, this shop was a breath of fresh air unlike others Ive been to where they dont take you seriously if you dont know what youre looking for.Ive had my car back for 2 weeks and couldnt be happier. Ill update my review if something breaks and they dont take care of me, but I just dont see either of those things happening. If you have a Subaru and want to make serious power, this is your go to shop.
Easy to schedule dyno time. Baseline number before tuning.
A-1 . You cant go wrong here. My car runs better now than it ever did at the last shop I went to.
So I walk in the door and I meet this gentleman named Remy who sits me down and tells me how he can super tune my GTR the man is not cocky hes confident he knows what hes talking about to make horsepower not that the GTR isnt fast enough but he is making it ridiculously fast heres to more points on my license lol hes a gentleman with the best prices and a Dino right on site hes a man of his word and he gets the job done one question to you whos the next person that wants the fastest car in town kosi Remy truly blessed
Best Evo tuner around! Always looking out for his friends and family! Would recommend to anyone!
If you need work done to your Subaru, Brandon is your guy very helpful and knowledgeable. I had my engine swapped upgraded and put it on the dyno what an amazing job
Contacted remy via Facebook, asking about a launch map for my evo. Responded in a fairly quick timeframe, which was awesome. Work with me through a few maps and we got everything squared away. Big help and thanks. Would definitely recommend
Been going to DDA for 3 years now. Every single time Im taken care of by a team of true enthusiasts as well as professionals. No one on the east coast knows Subies/Mitsus like these guys. After taking my car in for a repair and realizing it would have to stay, the owner drove me 45 minutes round trip to bring me to the train station. I promise you once you bring your car to these guys, youll never trust it anywhere else again.
I resisted several times the urge to write this review but I feel it must be done to save other people from the experience I had.Poorly done tune on my MK4 Supra standalone ECU. I understand many of the good reviews for DDA are from Evo and WRX owners. Maybe this shop should stick with those cars. Their website even states if they dont specialize in it, they dont touch it. That was a lie...Brought my MK4 Supra here to get a new Haltech ECU install and tune, with some various mechanical work. Brandon, the mechanic, is very knowledgeable and takes his time to do the job correctly. I appreciate that. This is the only reason I am giving 2 stars and not 1.However, the tuning was a nightmare. The first dyno session I was there for 4 hours and it was not complete; I had to drive it home on a very bad tune. I came back a week later to get it finished, and ended up being at the shop for 11 hours (I did have an exhaust clearance issue so that was about 30 minutes extra). OF the 11 hours, the car sat on the lift for about 2 hours waiting for UPS to show up with new spark plugs. After I asked to check the tracking, it turns out the plugs were never even shipped. What I dont understand is why the plugs had to be ordered when every parts store within 3 miles had plenty in stock. Luckily another customer at the shop had the same plugs he could spare for me. After another several hours of dynoing, guess what, the car still ran very lean and made less power than when I brought the car to the shop. The shop owner got into a heated argument with another customer whos car had been there for several months and now wouldnt start after they drove 2 hours to come pick it up (yikes). I drove home on a bad tune yet again... What a great use of my time! After bringing the car to another tuner who knew what they were doing, it turns out the ECU car settings were wrong and the wastegate hoses were hooked up incorrectly, causing the boost surging I was experiencing. After trying to give this shop a second chance to earn my business again, the owner stopped responding to me after we set up an appointment to downpipes and a cobb tune on my GTR.
I called a week in advance to book a diagnostic for Wednesday the 11th. Takes me about 2 hours to get to the shop once I get there Im approach by dark skin gentleman, I explained to him Im there for my two oclock appointment which is a diagnostic on my vehicle, he tells me to pop the hood open and he ask me to explain to him whats wrong with the car I have a 2004 Subaru impreza rs which is my second vehicle for leisure purposes only. So I tell him about this screeching noise I hear under the hood sometimes and also mentioned to him about a few minor leaks I have in the engine. Im thinking his going to run a few test on the car with actual equipment and he turns around and looks under the hood and tells me he doesnt hear anything but notices one of my gas lines is leaking excessive gas. So his manager or master mechanic jumps in takes a look at the cars engine and tells me I need to change all my gas lines which is 3 small rubber tubes and two bolts to secure the gas lines, I ask the master mechanic for the parts numbers and he assures me Subaru dealerships DO NOT CARRY this parts not to waste my time but I tell him I came this far and I want to check for myself, so I called a few dealerships and found the main rubber tube I needed which is about 5 inches long and 2 bolts to secure the gas line. The master mechanic tells me to go get the parts at the dealership and hell be more than glad to install the parts for me at no charge it was a very simple and easy fix. I proceed to go purchase the parts at the nearest Subaru dealership and when I came back I only found the dark skin gentleman which first approached me when I first got to the shop. I give him the parts and he installed the small rubber tube and the two bolts and turns around and tells me oh thats $100 dollars I laughed thinking he was joking, the master mechanic pops up and approaches me to ask me how was I paying cash or credit its still $100 dollars, Im thinking to myself I didnt get a full diagnostic like I asked for and all they did was look at my engine and install one rubber tube and two bolts which took less than 5 minutes and the labor was $100 dollars not to mention the 4 hour drive round trip and tolls. What a rip off dont waste your money and time going DDA tuned its a shady and unorganized business run by young men who talk to you like theyre doing you a favor stay away.
Guys are awesome same day tune remy is a awesome tuner and knows what he’s doing
Took care of me, straight forward no games. Asked for a job to be done and it was completed timely and to spec!
Meticulous, knowledgeable, personable and most importantly - honest. I wont let any other shop touch my subie.
Best shop in tri state area,Fast on installs, best tuner on the tri-state, car runs strong& perfect in everyway. You can go there for your engine builds and everything else. They work on GTRs,Subaru,Mitsubishi!!! The best thing is that they have a mustang dyno.
DDA is great, and Remy is responsive. I dont know much about STi tunning, but Remy makes it look easy. Rob is awesome too, they both have great interpersonal skills. Highly recommended
Remy and the team are top notch and know their cars; especially when it comes to evos/dsms and performance subarus...you can tell remy really enjoys working on cars and knows his stuff, fixed an idle issue that was plaguing my evo 9 within 10 minutes and am now happy to have him do a bottom end refresh on my evo. If you want quality work done with a welcoming smile, take ur performance 4 bangers and GTRs here!! :)
Remy is the person to go to if you want to make your car fast
After lots of research trying to find a tuner for my evo x, I decided to go to DDA Tuned for a dual map on my big turbo setup. I was welcomed like family into the shop and during the whole experience, Remy the tuner, went out of his way to assure me my car was in good hands. The car made amazing gains and drives like a beast! Weeks after Remy texts me to see how my car is doing, and he even asks me for some datalogs to make sure my car is running 110% just like how it was the day it left the shop. Remy and his crew are true professionals and will be the only shop I go to for my future builds with my EVO. You want Honesty, Professionalism, and POWER go to DDA Tuned! :)
No matter what tuning you need do NOT go to @dda_tuned. From the day my car left the dyno, it was never tuned properly. Done countless revisions, and still no result. But here is where is gets good. I’m doing “logging” for flexfuel my motor blows up on May 29th. I call Remy and he tried to tell me that parts on my car have “excessive wear”. He sent me a revision the night before, I load it in the morning, and 15 minutes after 💣At 13K miles, that doesn’t make sense. So we speak, and he tells me, that he will do the work for me, but I gotta get a block. I still feel that I was getting screwed but I had no choice. He put me in contact with someone he knew that had a block and I paid $850. He tells me I’ll have my car back within a week. For those who know the nature of my work, I need my car to get around. He tells me that he can’t promise me a day but definitely the following week. Weeks pass, I call him, text him, and nothing at all so on June 23rd, I take a ride out to Newburgh to see what’s up with my car. I got there before he did, and saw my car with the same blown motor, and hole in my engine. Now, he tells me that the block I bought was in the car, but yet you have the valve cover with the hole in there?! He tells me that because of me calling, he had them put the motor back in the car. Now we all know it was never out. I told him I really need the car, can he have it ready. He guaranteed me that it would be ready on June 30th. I asked him if there was ANY money left to spend, and he told me just $120 for the machinist and $80 for a head gasket kit. Toward the end of the week, I write him, and he told me the machinist is having difficulty with the head, and they are trying. Another week passes, and I get a call from his partner Brandon. He passed the job to Brandon because he didn’t want to deal with it. He did not relate any of what he told me to Brandon. Now Brandon tells me that the complete motor needs to be rebuilt. But I thought Remy took it out? 🙃 Brandon lays out the costs and tells me that it will cost a few thousand. More if they can’t save the head. Another week passes, and it’s determined that the heads are done. Brandon suggests I buy a new motor. He has been open and honest with me which is a nice change of pace from Remy. I told him that I think it’s unfair that Remy told me my final cost was $200 and now I’m hearing new motor. So I now buy a motor for 3500 😰. Brandon actually got it in for me ONLY two days after delivery. Pick up the car, CEL is on. The car was tuned before so there was some funky business and codes were coming up. I needed a revision to offset these codes and now had to pay another $50, and have Remy take how ever long to get me whatever. If you wanna deal with Brandon at DDA I’m for it. But for tuning, save your car from Remy. The end.Share the word. Save your cars.
0 STARS Remi is the owner and is the worst mechanic/salesman/thief. Put a new engine in my Talon TSI with upgraded stuff etc. No bolt was put in 2 engine mounts. Gauges were not wired correctly. Car leaked oil everywhere when i bought new gaskets for everything. Broke a new oil pump for the 4G63. Charged me way more than the estimate and asked for payment before JOB WAS DONE. This shop doesnt know how to change OIL. Id be scared if your car is there. Worst mechanics ever. 11 months it took for an engine swap.....nuff said!!! TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE. Everything was blamed on ROB the POS who worked on my car but nothing was done to fix his shotty work and had to make 5 trips to get my car when it still leaked oil after it sat in my garage. I sold the car because it was a prime DSM no rust that wa ruined due to mechanical error!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was referred to this shop from a fellow Evo X owner as well as hearing about them in forums. Being an Evo X owner, It can be hard to trust any mechanic shop to take your car to for obvious reasons so I contacted the shop and asked a few questions about converting my modified evo back to its stock form. I spoke with Remy. Super professional, and answered every question and concern that I had that really made me want to get the work done, here instead of a handful of other evo based auto shops that Ive heard horror stories about over the tri state area.I made an appointment and brought my car up to their new location, they recently moved and quickly they began working on my car as soon as I arrived. I stepped out for a couple hours to kill some time. While I was out the mechanics working on the car brought up any issues to my attention via telephone and they brought up some crappy work that was done from another shop I had to it to in the past.Overall, They did a fantastic job.The car was brought back to its stock form with no shortcuts being taken. All issues were addressed and I was thrilled to have someone just be honest and never once did I feel like they were just slapping things together to get me in and out as quick as possible.I recommend anyone with a Mitsubishi Evolution platform to go to this shop, it was about a 1 hour 1/2 drive for me but well worth it. Thanks to the guys at DDA!
Great Service for my Evo X and officially the ONLY tuner for my evo. What can I say, remy knows his stuff!
Oh. Boy. Where do I begin?!?!?!Car: 2011 Mustang GTJob: On3 Performance Twin Turbo Kit Install + TuneSo i contacted Remy early 2016 about getting a kit installed and getting a tune on my car. He says its no problem. He says he can do the work AND tune the car.So I take out a loan against the car to get the work done as I figured it was not going to take long to pay it off.So I bring the car into the shop in september/October 2016. I buy all the parts and have it brought to Remys shop. I then start paying him 2 thousand in October 2 thousand in November 1 thousand in December and 1 thousand in January. The thing is, is that the work was supposed to be done on consignment. He was supposedly hooking me up with the labor and as a result I said Id give him 2 thousand more than he quoted me. (So that makes it 6 grand for labor and 2 grand as a tip which I never gave for he reasons below) As me hooking him back up for the favor he was supposed to be doing for me.Firstly he had my car since late September until early December. He took forever to get it done and worked on it at a snails pace. The car would sit in the shop for weeks while I came in and helped out by sweeping or cleaning wherever whenever I could at the shop. To me it doesnt seem like Im getting hooked up. It seems like hes stalking the time out until I paid him the money. Now if that was the case - tell me. Dont make me think youre doing me a favor and then think Im gonna give you a tip when you didnt do anything in my favor at all. -_-When I got the car back there were exhaust leaks. MAGICALLY my started had issues, and there was a sever wobbling and creaking sound when driving at highway speeds and turning the steering wheel all the way to the left or right. There was also a vibration felt in the steering wheel when slightly turning the wheel right or left from straight. But wait.Theres more.I looked past all that. And when I made IG posts talking about the issues found after he asked me to delete them because it gave the shop a bad rep and he wanted to fix it.I obliged.I removed them.Cut to a few days after getting the car back. He tells me he couldnt tune the car. And refers me to someone else to get it tuned. The guy does a HORRIBLE job on the tune and then tells me that he cant get the transient fuel to come back from being too rich.He tells me the car is good to drive and that Ill be fine while he contacts sct about the issue. Two days after spending what amounts to about 19-21 thousand in parts and labor - my check engine light comes on.Remy then diagnoses it as a screwed up valve. I bought another. But something was nagging at me.So I go to Mustang Magic in Long Island so they can tell me whats up with the car. They snake a tube with video into the cylinder 7 and they report to me that a chunk of my cylinder 7 was missing. My motor blew. He told me to come into the shop so he could find out whats going on and fix it and help me get back on the road.I declined. I felt taken advantage of and felt like a fool. He charged me six thousand for a job hat I was quoted at for 3500. 2000 for the twin turbo install and 1500 to install the coilovers and the oil pump gears and the rotors and brake pads and control arms.I have not embellished anything. This happened January of 2017. I purposefully took the time away from this issue so I could write it without any aggression.Steer clear from this place. Save your pockets the trouble. Why do I say pockets? Because Im now paying Mustang Magic 12.8k to install the twin kit, rebuild my engine, install the engine, install a new clutch, install the correct gauges, and new headlights.Did I mention that the previous Gauge that I provided never got installed, and my previous clutch i brought to have re-built was also never returned? Did I also mention that my oil pump gears I brought to remy was not installed nor returned?Just trust me. Stay far the heck away.
Just dont do it, Maybe if you have an Evo or STi and Remyt and them asre your friends, but all in all, they pretty much sabotaged my car to get me to keep coming back, i would give them 0 stars but they dont give that option so i had to click one. I spent thousands of dollars there, first they were so consumed with their own cars to be ready for shows it took them 4 months to do timing chains, springs and cams, then due to their negligence ( unbeknownst to me at the time) when putting the motor back together and in the car, The motor blew exactly a week later. They offered to do the whole swap for $1000, i reluctantly agreed but everyone else wanted upwards of $2500, They took forever but they did the swap. The day i leave they forget to completely connect a coolant hose, and they put a ripped one back on so coolant was leaking from 2 places. And my headlights were stuck on brights, they completely botched putting the car back together. I fixed that myself. Then i went to get a gauge installed 2 months later.the day after i got it back car wouldnt start, tor the battery out and checked everything when i noticed that the wire for the starter solenoid was cut, i did the starter myself a month before this so i knew the wire was fine before the car went to them, upon further examination i notice that the cable for the gauge they installed was zip tied right next to where the cut wire was, i went there and explained to one of the guys who claimed to have worked on the car and explained to them that it happened while it was their so they should fix it and he said ya you can pay us to fix it, ya right. so i go home and splice it myself everything is good. Now this whole time i had been dealing with an issue where my motor would jerk relentlessy when accelerating in reverse. Im doing the axles and ball joints in my car yesterday and i notice 2 bolts for the transmission to the motor were missing completely, so i got 2 bolts put them in and now its fine. But in the process of trying to fix the issue i have spent thousands, and its all because they didnt put in 2 bolts. Just filed papers against them today. I would advise everyone to stay away from this shop and anyone associated with it unless theyre your friends but hey some people really are greedy
WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!I WAS ROBBED OF CASH PAYMENT AND MECHANIC WORK NEVER DONE CORRECTLY. My car was fixed enough to drive down the block before enough oil leaked out to destroy my brand new engine installed in my EVO. I WILL NEVER BRING/RECOMMEND IN FACT I WILL TELL EVERYONE WHO ASKS me how bad this shop is. I WISH I COULD LEAVE 0 STARSI will be suing this company for a refund!!!!!
