Definitely do not bring your car there to get fixed. I probably don’t even need to write a review, you could just ask a random person walking down the street on the island and they’d tell you the same thing.My car broke down and I had it towed there. They replaced my battery and sent me on my way. Not even five days of having my vehicle and it broke down on the side of the highway.I got it towed to another mechanic who knows what he’s doing. The gentlemen replaced the strut and the alternator. I called Barry’s just to ask them why they didn’t replace those parts. The lady didn’t have an answer for me and basically told me it wasn’t her problem.Pretty wild they’d be willing to lose a local customer but 🤷🏻‍♂️. Since then, I’ve spoken to people around town and I’ve heard a lot of similar stories. Don’t waste your money by paying Barry’s to ruin your car more than it already was when you brought it there.

I had a great experience. Kori was able to find a nice Honda Accord Sport that was exactly what I was looking for as it really fits my personality. No hassling and a really pleasurable car buying experience. Jose in finances was also extremely helpful and was able to work with the bank to find a loan that worked for myself and for Barry’s. Personally I recommend Barry’s and these two guys to anyone interested in buying a nice and dependable vehicle. This car will last me years and although it is a 2015, Barry’s did a great job fixing it up so it’s as good as new. If your like me and you desperately need a good car to get to work and to go on Tinder dates you should talk to these guys and maybe they can hook you up as well.

This company is one of the best dealerships that I know. I was recently in a car accident and my vehicle was a total loss. I was not able to shop locally, so I was shopping online. I had a very stressful time until I found Barrys Automotive. I live in Summerville, SC, and they made the experience seem as though that were right here with me. I am VERY pleased and would DEFINITELY recommend them to those local and long distance.🙂I purchased my vehicle from Barrys on August 21, 2021 and started experiencing problems immediately after. I live in South Carolina, and two days after the car was delivered the battery light came on. I took it to a local repair shop, and was told that the car was a major safety hazard and that it could have caught on fire anytime while being operated. Two major issues were discovered during this time. I contacted my salesman (Peter Kelly), and I was told to contact the warranty company. I was then told by the warranty company that my vehicle was not in the system, and because they were prior issues, coverage would not be provided. I contacted Peter about the issue, pictures were requested by him to show proof, then I was left to cover the bill out of my own pocket until the warranty contract was renewed to actually cover the charges. I am still waiting to be reimbursed. My car was also held almost two weeks throughout this process. Not long after, I started experiencing leaking issues from driver and passenger side (internal). I then contacted Jose (finance dept.) and informed him of the issue along with the reimbursement. This took another week, because my vehicle was still not covered by the warranty yet. After receiving the warranty card (10/16/2021), I took it to the local shop and problem that caused the leak was fixed, but I was now informed of ANOTHER problem, this time the warranty does not cover it. Not even a week after being in the repair shop my engine light has appeared (10/26/2021). I am know faced with financial expenses that are way beyond my limits and I havent even had my car in MY possession for a consecutive 30 days. I was overly excited when I received my vehicle, but shortly after, that changed and so did the promptness of the customer service that I once received. I feel like I was taken advantage of and now Im being overlooked and. I am a combat veteran and this whole experience has caused a major increase in my depression and anxiety.

If you’re in the market for a great used car, I can assure you, Barry’s is absolutely the place to go.After my beloved car was totaled in a flood I had to get fitted with some new wheels ASAP. I’ll admit, I looked at those online car showrooms, because I needed something fast and easy.. but I knew I’d be in much better hands as soon as I went into Barry’s and Scotty and Jose were able to immediately answer the few questions I had (that were impossible to find in some FAQ via an online service). Do not go! Sold me a truck with CNG fuel and didn’t disclose left me an empty tank and I got stuck on side of the road leaving dealership, there’s no CNG stations in Rhode Island that offer fuel to public, you need a special card, now they are fighting with me on return

The sales associate Jason Chase was amazing, polite, cut me a great deal, and even tried to drive my car himself from RL to New Mexico to get it to me, I would personally give hime 6 stars if I could. My experience with the dealership overall however is a bit straining simply because the amount of time it’s taking to get my car to me, 3 weeks to be exact. Other than that, Jason has worked with me to get me an amazing car and so has the team!

I was put on the spot by my salesperson to give him five stars on this and it was still in the negotiation process so I gave him five stars however the service at batteries was not five star it was three at best. Granted they met me halfway on a repair that should have been done before I ever purchased the car.

I walked in on foot after my engine blowing and walked out with a new car! What could have been a disaster, was fixed with the kind personnel at Barry’s.

Bought a dodge caravan 1 year ago and I have to get transmission work done already and there is a recall on the motor. I was told a year ago that if I didn’t leave a 5 star review that the car sales people do not get their commission. Also, after “purchasing” the vehicle and signing paperwork, I was told that banks for my loan were being changed and my loan amount increased. When I signed the original loan documents its because I was told that particular bank approved the transaction. Ive never bought a car, left the lot with it only to find out from the bank the transaction was not approved but pending. Then have dealership not tell me, do the process all over again and without me present. Never again would I use this dealership or recommend it.

For me, reviews are a big deal when determining whether I will purchase from a certain dealership or not. Barry’s reviews are exceptional, however, as a previous customer, I know that they require you to leave a review before you walk out the door. Here’s the thing, the reviews are quite misleading. I found my dream car at Barry’s Automotive after the first big snowstorm back in December. I needed something that would handle snow. I drove down to Newport from Massachusetts to test drive this vehicle and potentially purchase it. I noticed that the vehicle had a few concerning symptoms during my test drive, the manager reassured me it was due to it sitting as well as the V8 engine (the vehicle has a 6-cylinder engine). Pay close attention to the charges they add to your financed amount as they will sneak in extended warranties that you don’t agree to and then act as though you’re a remorseful customer when you attempt to get a refund for the additional charges. My salesman was great, however, the managers at Barry’s are extremely unprofessional and could care less about your concerns unless you’re a squeaky wheel. Some of my concerns were eventually rectified but it was a hassle and not something you expect when purchasing a vehicle. I hate to be the person that leaves a bad review because I know during these times family owned businesses are struggling however, customers need transparency and professionalism and Barry’s cannot provide that across the board, for every individual that walks through their door. I would not recommend buying your next vehicle from Barry’s.
