Came here to try the ice cream based on the reviews and was so happy I did. The ice cream was delicious and creamy. Ordered cake batter and sea salt caramel on a sugar cone!! Would come back here to try different flavors and their other store confections!!

Delicious tasting ice cream for sure plus the candy selection is unbelievable. All things mouth watering. Definitely a place to stop in.

My husband and I came here for a day trip to New port and we were really impressed with the ice cream. We both got cake batter and strawberry. The strawberry ice cream had real strawberry pieces but this was the best batch of ice cream we had in a very long time!

They had a good variety of flavors and friendly staff. The waffle cones are made fresh in the store and are delicious. The ice cream was very good and I would definitely recommend it!

Oh so delicious!!! Try the seafoam covered in dark chocolate. Or the sea salt caramel truffles. Or a caramel apple dipped in chocolate with sea salt. Yummy!!!

Great service. Tons of options. One feedback is that you can’t see all the options at the very end where you order and they don’t have the flavors posted for customers to see while they wait. The ice cream and freshly made waffle were delicious though. I especially loved the salted caramel.

A beautiful ice cream place in Newport. There are some delectable varieties that you can savor. Definitely a must visit when you are there. They also produce some fine chocolates that come in various shapes and sizes.

On a Summer night this is the place to go to! It does look like it gets crowded but they work at a great pace! I was in and out in about 5 minutes with my order.

Ordered a milkshake and got straight milk shaken. Not actually sure they put any of the sea salt caramel ice cream in. Don’t get me wrong for a glass of cold milk it’s good, just not sure it’s worth the $8.99...I was expecting a little thickness, but there was no viscosity to be found in the shake. The only redeeming quality of the shake was the cups neat pattern. The candies looked good but the overall quality control was not present so I am hesitant to try anything else...All the best!-Connor

Lemon sorbet and strawberry ice cream was just super refreshing on a hot day! They had some amazing things in the display cases and the ice cream cakes looks incredible!

The fudge is very taste, however it is very sweet. The penuche fudge was very soft and difficult to pick up. Needed a spoon. The chocolate with walnuts was good...rather sweeter than what use to. Give it a try, it was clean and the young woman was verynice and helpful.

Overpriced one scoop. €6 Line was out there door but moved at a reasonable speed. Since theres no tasting due to COVID I guessed and got the sea salt caramel. It WAS tasty thankfully. It was between this and Ben and Jerrys...

I stopped in on September 30 to see what Kilwin’s is all about. I can’t thank Bill and his helpful staff enough! Bill assured me I could get quarts home without melting and provided me with ice blocks. What a quality flavorful delicious ice cream! I also bought peanut butter and mint chocolate covered Oreos. Yum. They also had dark chocolate shavings to make hot chocolate, but I used them as ice cream toppers! Forget jimmies when there’s such high quality chocolate shavings lol!I’ll certainly be back- well worth the trip over two bridges. Kilwin’s will be part of my Christmas shopping!!!

The ice cream was very smooth, and had a nice flavor. They make their own waffle cones, as well as the chocolate and other candied snacks. There is an area outside the store thats perfect for enjoying your ice cream.

One of the best spots in Newport to get a great variety of candy, homemade fudge, and ice cream. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The prices are also very good. Worth taking a few steps away from the wharf to experience this place.

The family got some 2 scoop waffle cones, and they were delicious. The ice cream was smooth and creamy and the flavors were on point. The waffle cones were still warm to the touch, yet crunchy and flavorful. I would definitely go again if I get the chance.

I arrived to this shop a few minutes before closing at 11:00…I called to let them know I was outside and they informed me that they had already put their items away for the night after asking if I could come in. I advised that they should not lock their doors until the time posted on front their door. I think this is bad business when you know a customer wanted to come before closing time and the doors were locked…unfortunate situation on vacation!

Yummy ice cream and shakes! I got a vanilla shake with whipped cream (not pictured). I also got the sea salted milk chocolate caramels. Both were delicious! My husband got the peanut butter ice cream in a waffle cone. He loved it!

Very busy, but abundantly clear why. The ice cream was excellent and the rest of the treats looked pretty good as well.

After looking at the chocolate counter and waiting in line for ice cream, just as we were about to order ice cream they said they could not serve us unless I put a mask on my three year old. When I said no they refused us service but seeing how angry I was and how disappointed my daughter was said they could serve us quickly which shows they dont actually care about their policy anyway. There was also a clerk standing at the front of the store who saw come in and didnt have a problem then. Let me remind you the CDC says not to force children under 5 to wear masks. We left and bought her ice cream elsewhere . You do not tell a parent to put a mask on their child ever.

Went to Kilwins in Newport, RI tonight and was sad and surprised to learn that they do not allow you to taste any ice cream flavors, but even more, I asked for a couple extra napkins and was told that it was a new corporate rule that they are only allowed to give out three napkins per order. I have been to many Kilwins but this may have been my last. Sad new rules!!!

Take yourself to Ben and Jerry’s down the street. If you want two flavors in a single scoop, this place charges you for two scoops. 👎

Kilwins is the best ice cream I have ever had! Seriously! As soon as you walk into the store, you smell an awesome scent of homemade waffle cones being made there. Their fudge is out of this world. The ice cream that they sell is also very good. There are so many flavors of ice cream, it is so hard to choose from. Luckily, they let you sample every any flavor you want. Personally, my two favorite flavors at Kilwins are lemon sorbet, and “Superman”. Superman is fruity vanilla which is in the three colors of Superman. Kilwins is a very good ice cream place that I highly recommend you visit!

We were heading back home and noticed everyone was eating ice cream and had to check out it out. It felt like were being rushed to pick out our flavors, but it was really busy. The staff is very attentive though. They offer reasonably priced ice cream and other dessert in a variety of flavors. The toasted coconut was yummy and had a nice crunch to it. The Superman flavor doesn’t really taste like much, but it grows on you. Their fudge is packed with flavor, if you’re a fan of dark chocolate try their double dark chocolate caramel fudge.

We love this place and their ice cream! We visit every summer.

Bad service .very rude for no reason attitude towards kids and 1 scoop for a waffle bowl didnt bother to ask how many scoops also didnt bother to say to the kids the different type of icecream when my son asked for chocolate icecream she immediately said no they had none when there was variety in front of her .we will never come here or recomend it . Even for a waffle cone she said they didnt have none and my husband pointed it out to her the waffles behind her.

And I ended up back there 2 days later for more. Its one of my favorite spots to stop in when I see one.

Delicious ice cream. They do a brisk business for good reason. Crowded but lines move quick. HUGE cones and tremendous servings. All types of candies and brownies and cookies and gift boxes.

The chocolate sea salt caramel ice cream is one of the best scoops I’ve ever had. The chocolate covered salted caramels are wonderful too. Can’t wait to get back here.

A must stop for us everytime we come to Newport, which is at least once a year. Although they are always busy especially at night, always seem to move the traffic of people very quickly. Great Chocolates and even better Ice Cream with a great selection of flavors. Many other items yo choose from...Candy Apples, Fudge and Pre Package Candy Selections that make Awesome Gifts for those Sweet Tooth Lovers in your lives.

Went to the Newport Rhode Island location and was shocked by the lack of COVID awareness in the shop between employees and patrons. There was about 30 people in line in a store that should have only accommodated about 10 if everyone was socially distanced properly. People were on top of each other in an enclosed space. It would have helped to keep the door open at least but there was just no air flow. To top it off, the employees were not wearing gloves while working. This was so upsetting because they are handling food!!! I couldnt eat my cone because the employee touched it with her bare hands. I was so disgusted by everything there that it ruined the ice cream for me. I had to get a shower right away to feel a little better but they really need to implement measures to protect their patrons. The ice cream is no where close to good enough to risk your life.

Amazing selection of flavors

Such a huge variety of fresh-made fudge flavors to choose from. You can only taste one before you buy. I try the coconut French but got the sea salt caramel and now I wish I would have gotten the coconut fudge. Looks like Ill just have to go back! They also serve ice cream and have packaged caramel corn and other chocolatey treats.

This review is for the pizza place next door called “pizza wood”. The pizza tasted SOOOO fresh it tasted so good and it was actually the best pizza I have ever had in the world. Simply delicious.

Amazing smell drew me in

Right when I walked in here, the smell was delicious and the smell of waffle cone (I think) making was in the air. I went here after I went to 22 Bowen’s (amazing restaurant highly recommended) and I wanted a nice ice cream with good reviews. I got the caramel ripple with fudgie brownie and it was amazing! My dad is 57 and he said that the chocolate ice cream was the best he’s ever had! Highly recommended and A+++++ rating 😉

Oh the smell of fresh made waffle cones and bowls is just as amazing as the hard ice cream they serve. And their chocolates are smooth and creamy its not just chocolates. They have caramel apples, caramel corn, and other snack to enjoy made fresh in house. I recommend going even if its just to smell the delicious waffles being made.

Yummy ice cream in Newport! They have tons of flavors to choose from! I came one afternoon and wanted a milkshake. I ordered a strawberry milkshake which was so good and not too sweet. Loved it so much, I came back after dinner for dessert and got 2 scoops on a waffle cone - vanilla and pistachio. Yummy! The prices were a bit on the expensive side but gotta recommend them if youre in town and need to satisfy your ice cream craving.Staff were friendly and helpful. Walking into the place, you can see and small the fresh waffle cones being made. They also had a lot of other desserts in their glass showcase. Theres a good amount of metered street parking.

What great customer service! We stopped at Kilwins of Newport for ice cream before boarding our bus back to our hotel. About 20 minutes into our ride I realized that I had left a bag containing my new hat. When I called I spoke with the owner who asked me to email them and they would return it. Sure enough in todays mail was my hat. I am so appreciative. They also have great ice cream.....try the chocolate peanut butter.

If you like sweet perfect place to go to.I went there on a holiday and it was busy. Still didn’t have to wait that much. Staff is very friendly and will listen to you patiently. Food is just yummy. Ice cream are sweet but not too sweet, thats what I liked the most about it.Parking might be an issue on busy day but this place is worth some struggle.

Poor customer service experienced in this place, who would think in an ice cream place for kids supposed to be a happy place, one of their server middle-aged women were treating their customers so rude just by getting upset that their customer had to use their restroom and was provided in the first place by a key by her co-worker. Such a disappointment, maybe the owner should consider providing a restroom to their customers and pick a staff who is compassionate to their clients.DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE👎

My daughter and I spent $45.00 and got ice cream and fudge they put 1 normal size ice cream and a tiny second scoop. The fudge was hard as a rock. I called to have a manager call me back and ge never did.
