I work with leather and make small items such as wallets, leather wrist bands, leather rings, jewelry and key fobs. Needless to say you need access to a store that you can see for yourself the quality and value of the items you want. I must say, although this was my 3rd visit, I still had a thousand questions about just about everything from the leather I planned to work, the best way to use my leather strip cutter, to using line 20 and 24 snaps. The manager was walking past when I entered Tandy Leather and I snagged him with my first question. Not only did Mr. Stretch answer my question, but he sat me down at the Open learning center, taught me (hands-on) exactly how to set line 20 and 24, snaps, (I had been working with different snaps purchased on eBay which werent very durable). He also taught me how to correctly use my leather strip cutter, stamping/shading tools, and proper care of my granite block. It was great! He has 20 plus years working with all things leather and is willing to share his broad knowledge base. I wasnt able to post the pic of Mr. Stretch, but you cant miss him, hes over 7 ft. tall! All the employees were friendly and professional, including John and Mr.JBRYON. If you want to learn anything leather, this is the place to come!

I had no idea what I was doing. I’m a total newb. They were very helpful and got me exactly what I needed to do the job. I’m no expert, but the quality of the suede they gave me was outstanding for my purposes. They even tried a couple of needles to be sure it was going to work for the suede I got and what I wanted to do with it. Who could ask for more?

Awesome shop with lots of great leather pieces, tools, and odds and ends for every level of crafter. Amazing knowledge base and super friendly staff.

An outstanding place to find any type of leather, especially for crafts & tooling. I hand forge my own knives and use Tandy leather to make custom fitted sheaths for my kives. I also buy furs to display my knives

I dont do a whole lot of leather work but these guys are so helpful and I enjoy it every time I come in to shop. Theyre great about answering questions and helping me find the best thing for me to work with without spending an arm and a leg.

In the last few months, this store has gone downhill fast. The employees who knew what they were talking about are mostly gone (we miss you, John and Piper!) and the store has suffered for it. The new manager has directed caused confusion in product arrangement, stock being low to non-existent for many supplies, and when approached about placing an order has shown himself to be clueless about something as simple as looking an item up in the system.Sadly, as the next closest location is over an hour away in the evening, I still have to go to this store for hardware and supplies, the low stock of many of these resulting in more than a few last minute alterations of projects to work with whatever happened to be available.Come on, Tandy. Ive been to some of your other locations, I know yall can do better than this. Please start taking this location seriously before I give up and start shopping elsewhere... online. I like being able to see what Im paying for first, but this almost isnt worth the hassle.

My husband started to do leather crafting and we started going to Tandy Leather and this place is amazing!! They have all the tools and material you could need. Not to mention the extraordinary knowledgeable staff to help answer questions about the craft. I even found out today they have classes to teach you about how to make a variety of projects on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I might join my husband in his new hobby.

I love coming to visit Tandy! I always go with an idea in mind but not knowing how to execute it, and the staff have never let me down. Piper, in particular, is extremely helpful and extremely friendly! Their prices are reasonable, and they have a lot of options of leather and tools to choose from to get you what you need.

Very big store. A lot of variety and items in stock. I drove one hour to get check the place out and get some leather crafting tools and was not disappointed. The gentleman there was very helpful since i am new to leather craft. He was honest and gave me great advice. Ill keep making the one your drive for all my leather craft needs. Thank you

The staff here is second to none. I enjoy every visit. Super helpful and ready to talk shop. Not like most places that give you the if you don t see it were out attitude. They will almost always find a way to make it happen.

The stores manager Carlos is very helpful. He helped me to open account and help me to find the products. Their products are very good value.

Some of the staff are friendly, and dont expect them to know technicality of crafting with leathers. They just work there, and they are not artisans. I just like the place because it is filled with cool leathers. I would say the prices are steep unless things are on sale.

In the past I bought my leather materials and supplies online. Consequently, this resulted in multiple, negative experiences. Recently, I decided to make a change in how I would acquire my leather materials and supplies. I had discovered Tandy’s Leather via Google Maps. This is an awesome place to buy leather materials and supplies! This company has a great selection of quality leather, tools, color dyes, protectants and more.

My wife and I have started leather crafting and get lots of our supplies here. Wed buy out half the store if we could, we want it all. And the special deals that come in every couple weeks are great.

Super helpful staff. If you are interested in getting into leather working this is a great place to start. Prices arent great but its worth buying your first supplies somewhere where you can go back in and ask questions and get a ton of help if you need it.

Just left this store. Employee seemed very unwelcoming even when asking her questions. Why is she there. Get some friendly people. Also, the designer leather that’s being sold in the front for $19.99 is all dirty. Every piece was soooo dirty you couldn’t even use an inch of space of it. I wouldn’t even take it if it was free.

Absolutely the standard in leathercraft materials, tools, and hardware. This location is fantastic. A wonderful supply and assortment, and the staff is more than friendly and helpful. The Manager, John, is amazing and has put together a very helpful, attentive, and friendly staff who are always willing to go above and beyond to fill your needs.

This place is like the Tardis! So much bigger on the inside and....so. much. Leather! I was on a mission to buy one thing but I could spend an afternoon in there. Customer service was epic and what a selection! I see much leather work in my future. I cant wait to go back.

Customer service is excellent. There are three different prices displayed on each item and is based on membership level. If you are hobbyist like me, you may feel akward paying higher price. I do avoid because of pricing structure.

The shop is very clean. The associates a very helpful and knowledgeable of there products. They have wide variety of leathers and hides, tools and equipment. They offer discounts to those who they apply to.

I love this place, I went today for the first time and there was so much to choose from. All I need was pyramid spots (studs) and ended up leaving with a bunch of information and deals.. I cant wait to go back

HOLY CRAP THIS PLACE IS HUGE!!! It has EVERYTHING you need for leather working. There are hundreds of hides of every color and thickness and tons and tons of tools. The staff is very knowledgeable and full of helpful suggestions.

I asked a girl with green hair how to use a burnishing machine and she was very rude with me. Said she didnt know as she walked past me and avoided helping me out. Wont be back.

If you need it, this Tandy has it. Youll need to have your shopping list written out with stock numbers, because many things are on upper shelves. Assistance is available, but its mostly a self serve and it is laid out by number. This is a busy, busy, store, but presents well.

Excellent customer service. They were friendly and walked me through everything Id need for my first project without trying to upsell me. Id recommend having an idea of what you need before going in though because it can be a little overwhelming at first
