My wife and I visited the Normal location on 9/26/21 with her service animal. She was asked if her dog is a service animal and responded that he was. She was then asked to show proof that he is. Per the Americans With Disabilities Act is is illegal to demand identification for a service animal or to make unnecessary inquiries about a person’s need for one. When my wife told the staff member her dog is indeed a service animal that should have been the end of the conversation. We will never visit this store again and will be informing our family and friends (especially those with disabilities) to do the same.

Very good coffee. Im a mocha fanatic and this one of my top 3 for sure. Got some beans also and it makes some flame coffee. Baked goods are also yummy. It is a little high $ but paying for what you get is especially important these days.

Went during COVID, great coffee. But I am more impressed by the fact they properly use gloves while handling payment. The cashier swapped out gloves between each customers. Out of all the places Ive been to lately, nobody does this (except at medical places). Glad the staff is knowledgeable in safe practices.

Only reason I come here is for the avacado toast. Recently they havent had it when I go on Sundays. Went to the store near Beer Nuts and was told its a 45min just for a coffee... I now take my business elsewhere. Great toast (when its in stock)

By far one of my favorite coffee shops in Illinois, let alone the US. I would visit the Downtown Bloomington location during my summer internship at the McClean County History Museum, on winter breaks home from college, and now this summer as my weekend bike ride reward and brief mental escape from Covid. The staffs professionalism during this strange time has been positive. The cafes are hygienic and mask mandatory, which has been responsible and comforting. As my extended stay at home ends, I know I will definitely be dreaming of Coffeehound! PS, Mexican Mocha flavoring is magical.

I go here as often as I can for not only coffee, but their cranberry orange scones. The staff is always very helpful, and their rewards system is much better than it was before. Theyre eco-conscious and support local artists. I tell all my friends to go here. Support local businesses!

I used to love this place during college, but since coming back to the area in May, Im convinced the staff doesnt know how to maintain its dining room anymore.People take so many chairs for their gatherings that Ive seen two whole tables be unseatable for small parties like myself. While the food and coffee is still good, I cant comfortably sit and enjoy it in such a noisy environment thats not under control.Multiple times I have also found tables utterly ignored and strewn with crumbs leftover from previous parties, as well as having uncontrolled children almost knocking my coffee over.Unfortunately, I cannot beat the crowd as Im limited to visiting on weekends when Im not working. Disappointing, truly.

If you are over the age of 24 and have children with you dont waste your time or money here. Starbucks is right around the corner. I waited at the counter with my kids while a young woman ground coffee. We were the only people at the counter until she finished grinding. As I expected to order she took the order from a kid standing behind us. As I was throughly amazed that I and my family were now invisible. I thought maybe I missed something so I waited and an order was taken from another young man. So left and went to Starbucks. Dont forget that local people also work at chain establishments too. Do every dollar spent matters locally.

Prices are good and the coffee is fantastic. It doesnt come fast, so you do have to wait a little. Well worth it though. The staff is friendly and and knows what theyre doing to make great tasting coffee.

There is so much I love about The Coffeehound. Their coffee is the best in the area. I love that the milks they choose to serve are high-quality. I love that they build relationships with their coffee suppliers and that their coffe is ethically sourced. They have a wide variety of bakery items from vegan, to gluten free, to paleo. However, I do wish they had a gluten free AND vegan option. Their service is usually very good. The only issue I have is with the parking at their locations, but its worth the fight for a parking spot and maybe a short walk with my 4 kiddos to get some great coffee.

Coffee Hound has the most amazing latte the taste of which I pine while traveling out of town. In contrast, there is just something missing with their cold brew that I cannot quite put my finger on.

Third wave atmosphere with good coffee. They offer pour-over and cold brew, as well as the usual suspects. As a visitor from Seattle youll instantly feel at home (think Victrola, no Vita though) in its light an warm atmosphere. The service was excellent.

The Coffee Hound always delivers on their coffee. When I need a boost to study for an exam, the Coffee Hound is my go-to place. With a variety of espresso drinks, I usually find myself trying a new drink every time! I always recommended the Coffee Hound to my friends and family. Plus they have an excellent choice of bakery items that make the perfect quick breakfast.

Good luck with finding parking. The coffee house, itself, is okay but nothing spectacular. The coffee drinks good, as are other offerings. Seating is limited, and the usual campers park in seats and will not yield until they reach retirement age. The place is rather noisy with the crowd talking over its members and itself. All things considered, its a fine place if you want to wait in a line to order, possibly wait with your drink in your hand for a seat to open up, and be around college students and upper- middle class residents of the rather upscale town.

So, Coffee Hound is definitely the fanciest coffee in Normal. I just have a hard time loving it. Its hard to hang out here, unlike the Coffeehouse down the street. I dont know what it is - the staff were great, and I dont think Im offending anyone by saying theyre the best baristas in Normal. All the same, this is not my favorite coffee shop in Normal. Is it the price? The music selection? I cant say. Just never loved this spot.Legitimately though, if you really want a silly floret drawn on your latte, go here. It will taste amazing, too, and probably be the best crafted espresso youve had anywhere, ever.

The absolute best local coffee in Bloomington/Normal. They have excellent coffee and small breakfast pastries/biscuits. Management is intentional at hiring a welcoming group of team members that understand service and friendliness. Skip the Starbucks and grab a local favorite!

The first time I walked into Coffee Hound I was a bit overwhelmed. It was a Saturday morning and it was packed, but I soon learned why. The coffee is great. The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable. Ive made it my regular go-to for when I need a pick-me-up.

Coffee hound is awesome. The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable about coffee and coffee accessories. In addition to got and cold drinks there they sell pastries and whole bean coffee, which they will grind for you. Also, Niko is the man.

Great coffee and atmosphere. The location itself is a bit smaller than the downtown Bloomington location but it is a great local coffee shop. They also offer some teas and pastries as well as all the usual coffee offerings. Local artists are also featured on the walls, which adds to the atmosphere and local feel.

I absolutely LOVE this place! Best coffee in all of Illinois. The beans are so freshly roasted and ground to perfection, each time. Try their tea too!

I love their coffee (same as any other place really) but their new lids are terrible. got to my car and put it down and the lid just popped right off. Put it back on and leaving my car i was holding it at the bottom of the cup and the lid popped off again spilling hot coffee all over my hand. Please replace lids with sure snap lids because the lids to no snap on securely

They know what they are doing and they are doing well. The barista knows his ingredients and does them justice. They even got their own bakery!The bread has such a nice texture and aroma. House-made jam is more like a purée, smooth and tasty. The place seems like a hot spot in the community and the staff keeps a good relationship with the customers.

Really great place. Amazing chai tea as well as coffee. One thing I do wish they had was more seating outside. What they have now is cute but fills up right away.

They have everything from I need a little pep me up to I dont want to sleep for a couple days. Great flavor. Shot of espresso with a little steamed milk is perfect with a shot of flavor! Bit expensive but it is worth it occasionally. Great!

My favorite coffee place close to Illinois State. It does get a little loud, but a good pair of headphones solves that issue. Sometimes finding a plug is an issue, too, but people are generally friendly enough to share. All of the baristas Ive interacted with have been great and the coffee is very good. Ive never personally tried any of the baked goods, but Ive seen them eaten in front of me and have heard good things.

Definitely the best of the available coffee options in Downtown Normal. Small place and often busy when college students are around. But overall a great place for a cup of coffee. If Im trying to get work done or have a meeting I use the Downtown Bloomington location. Theyve also opened a third shop on Washington (CH3), but Ive not been there.

Great spot- lovely staff, good coffee. Niko is the man. If you have allergies and still fear the paleo and gluten free signs are more fad than factual- rest easy! I get a pastry 2-3 times a week and have never been sick. Hallelujah

I recently visited a new coffee place in town and lets just say it really drove home how much I appreciate Coffee Hound. They have the best coffee with the best baristas and atmosphere in town, and its not even close. I usually stick with lattes (love the House Latte, and that they offer easy flavor lattes), but the House Cortado is also very good. Their baked goods are always fresh and delicious, and I love their rewards program. I visit the Uptown Normal shop more frequently, but the Downtown Bloomington location is great too.

Skip Starbucks around the corner & go to Coffee Hound. My friends & I stayed the weekend at the Marriot. We ate twice at Coffee Hound. They are friendly & served quality food. What they do they do well! Go on Saturday for the amazing amish bread!

Stopped in for a Mexican mocha latte because the Kilgus milk makes them amazing and the cashier asked me if I wanted it hot or iced - I said hot. Then the barista made it iced - I told her it was supposed to be hot and she put it on the back counter. I check email on my phone while she remakes it and sets it on the counter and never tells me it is ready. This latte cost me almost $5 so I asked for it the way I ordered but she gave me attitude and stink eye. The other baristas Ive had during the school year have been great but this experience doesnt make me hesitant to return.

Coffee Hound always has great coffee. This location is really close to campus, so it is usually pretty full, but other than that the laid-back atmosphere is a great place to get some work done if you can leave the office.

The baristas are all so extremely talented and Im always being impressed when I go here. Can get kind of loud when crowded with people, but is still a great stress free place to sit down and read for awhile while sipping amazing coffee. 10/10 would recommend.

Only four stars because this place can get crowded and the coffee is a bit expensive. Even a simple brew coffee is over $2.00 for a small. Not to say they dont have amazing coffee and espresso, because they do. Just sometimes Im not willing to pay the price. When the baristas make your drink, you can tell they take pride in their creations. You wont be disappointed.

One of the best decaf caps I have ever had...straight outta Normal, IL. Holds its own to anything Ive had in Portland, Chicago or SF. That was my second in 3 hours, and hoping to sneak one more in before heading outta here...

Great atmosphere and quick service!

The barista knows coffee. I asked questions about their roasts available for a pour over. She said they had no pour over but suggested a similar brew method (Clever brew). It was excellent (a washed Ethiopian coffee). Prices are to be expected for artisan coffee. Atmosphere is typical of these types of coffee shops. Roasting is done on site in a small batch drum roaster with computer monitoring. The only downside I noticed from my first visit was the layout. It was not conducive to the morning rush. Located in an old downtown Bloomington building, its typical narrow yet deep layout becomes crowded quickly.
