The selection of guitars is great, everything else? Ehhh, not so much. It is called Guitar Center and its a smaller location, so Im giving 5 stars because the staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

How is this place still open? I spent 25 minutes waiting on someone to come open a cabinet, just so I could buy an audio interface. What should have been a quick trip to the store to get what I needed turned into me standing around waiting on someone to help me. I was there almost 45 minutes for 2 cables and an audio interface.Dont waste your time at this store. Go see John up at the Northside OKC one. Hes awesome, the store is awesome, and everyone is quick.
Great selection of keyboards & sheet music!! Assistance was excellent & loved that they had the classic keyboard charts & note chords.
Helpful, not so knowledgeable. Took in my old machine heads and photos of the guitar (my great grandmothers) so they could help me get the right replacements, but even with the originals in hand they got it wrong. These dont have the strings hole at the right depth as theyre for a slotted headstock not a solid one..... I dont know what to do now because its their error in ordering but they have a no returns policy.....

Finally a Guitar Center on the south side! I was stoked when I initially heard that Guitar Center was coming to Norman. The icing on the cake for me is the fact that the guys that work there are very friendly and quite helpful if you need any guidance. Otherwise, they dont constantly bombard you with can I help you? like Best Buy. Store is not quite as busy as OKC (so far) so it definitely has an edge over OKC as far as Im concerned. Hope nothing changes other than the inventory.

Went in with my daughter who has double cochlear implants and explained to Austin that we were exempt from wearing masks because she couldn’t hear me with a mask on. He rolled his eyes and from across the store said, “You have to wear a mask while being in our store. Have a good day.” Wanna know why Guitar Center is declaring bankruptcy? Because of stellar employees like this...It’s just really great to know that your store manager could care less that my daughter wanted a guitar. Especially when there were literally ZERO other customers in there on a Friday afternoon and five other employees standing around. Did we interrupt this guys XBox playing time with our interest in making a purchase or is he just normally this insensitive and rude? Who trained this guy to handle situations like this?

Store employee was super helpful when I went to choose my first cajon. He gave me tons of info including showing me how they sound, and made my selection process very easy
Jeremy Scott is a rare find! For $20.00, he replaced my strings and tuned my guitar. He wound the tuning keys by hand, because he thinks that is better, even though there was a string winder setting right there.He carefully polished my guitar and brought me his favorite capo so I could purchase it.I requested a thorough set up. He performed numerous test and told me I dont need one.I tried twice to give him a $20.00 tip and he refused. I love this guy!

Great place for musicians of any skill level. Have a good selection of guitars, although Im a drummer. Only issue I had was I was trying do some trading and they kinda put me on the back burner for other customers. I understand business, but never said anything about it will be a minute or anything. But I did leave with equipment that I was after. Will do business there again, just wished I could be assisted in a more timely manner.
Some of their staffs are extremely rude. Most of them were sleepy and couldnt even speak properly.My bf came and told me his experience there that the staff was forcing him to take protection plan for the Acoustic guitar he purchased. My bf told him that he would not as he will only play it at home and he used to maintain his old guitar for almost 16 years thus he didnt want to. Then the guy asked him Can I asked you why you dont want ? That guy convinced him again and again wasting his time that ended him to buy 3 years protection plan at last. What benefits would these people get from that??

Love guitars..instruments in general. 1st person I spoke with was very passionate and informative. However, after being handed off to another person, I felt like the employee was very pushy. I was asked several times if I wanted an extended warrantee on an amplifier I purchased. When responding with a no, I was asked, why not?. Then they tried using other reasons why I need the warranty. Additionally, I felt like I was being pressured into purchasing a higher priced guitar to amplifier coord. Besides the employees, the experience in going into the store and viewing all the instruments was pretty cool.
This guitar center has some awesome employees! I called to see if they had two guitars in stock. When they told me they had the guitars I was told the guitars will be at the register for me. So I took my hour road trip to the GC and only spent maybe 20 minutes in store but left so happy and excited. They got me set up with some hard cases for my guitars. That took the longest of the experience. The staff is a positive attitude that I met and saw. The staff is always knowledgeable. I grew up shopping the one in Arlington. This one is right up there for me. Pop in get inspired they will help!

Usually when you walk into a place of business your greeted in a warm and friendly welcoming manner. That’s not the welcoming I got when I entered this guitar Center’s location. I was wearing a mask but was immediately told to use hand sanitizer before entering. “Felt like I was being told to freeze by a cop “. The sales rep was very knowledgeable about products but lacked in his people skills and salesmanship. Very aggressive and over bearing at times. If a customer doesn’t want extended warranties you don’t question them on why they don’t want them.

Tried to round my $28.25 purchase up to $29 because I didnt have a quarter. I asked him if they werent giving change and he said with the coin shortage were trying to keep as much as we can..Keep? For what..? Change for better customers than myself?Also, why should I eat 75 cents on the transaction? If you dont want to make change, then you should eat the quarter and round it down a dollar.Id give my last dollar to anyone who needs it, but its unprofessional and unacceptable to just round my purchase up to the next dollar.Never going back.
Was in this store with my wife and was helped by Aaron. Not only was he extremely rude, but he would not stop looking at my wife and making her feel uncomfortable. I then overheard him make an inappropriate comment about her to another worker as I walked out the door, and I could not believe it. Will never visit this store again.

I understand no shirt no shoes no service... but waiting outside the store forever, and a no face mask no sanitized hands no service practice (unlike any other store I have been to recently here in Oklahoma City/Norman area) just because that is how California is doing it was too much. It was my first and last trip to this store. I went to another music store and purchased my sons guitar there. The other store was great and running the store just like the rest of the stores in Oklahoma. No waiting in lines outside forever, no forced practices, just people ready to sell instruments and talk about music. This is just my opinion, but I will be taking my money elsewhere forever.
Im not even sure where to start. I dont consider Guitar Center to really be an operation whose business model focuses on the professional, full time musician (short of those that might play gigs on the weekend), such as a company like Full Compass or similar level. Serious musicians know the equipment that is out there and arent looking for purchasing advice from the local music store salesperson. But at least when I walk into a Guitar Center location like the one in North OKC or one of similar size and client base, I expect (and typically receive) a certain level of professionalism and knowledge from the staff about their products. But when I walk into a Guitar Center like the one in Norman, Oklahoma, I feel fortunate if I get someone with more knowledge and expertise than the typical high-scorer in Garage Hero (or someone that plays in their parents garage). Even when I walk around to see what gear they have, most is what you might expect to purchase if your son or daughter was starting to take their first piano, drum, or guitar lessons. Ive seen some of the same models on the Walmart website. If you are really wanting to feel the action and response on a higher-level instrument, spend the gas and the extra time to drive up to a location with a better selection, or just cut your losses and call an establishment that caters to pro musicians. You will save some time (and inevitable headaches). I really hope that Norman will turn that operation around to be more of a location capable of serving Oklahomas professional players. I believe they have a long way to go.

I have taken music lessons from Clayton and highly recommend him for your musical needs! He is so patient and able to teach in a way that makes you comfortable and allows you an optimal learning experience! He teaches most musical instruments as well as vocal lessons. My only suggestion would be that they allow you to take lessons bi-weekly instead of weekly. The store has a wonderful selection of musical instruments and music and all the accessories that you might need. Give them a try for your musical needs!
I lost my wallet and called the store and the employee actually looked around the store for me ....suuuuper helpful
Purchased an amp and wore from them and didn’t get any sound. Called and was told to bring the guitar in and if it was a simple fix they’d help me no cost cause I just dropped $150 on equipment. Wife took it in and I was charged another $25 just for sautering a wire back. I know that seems small but after being told your gonna hell me out and then turn around and do something else is poor customer service
Use mask mandate to harass and abuse people. Also, they never have basic things like the cables you need
The guitar tech/ repair guy is great! He listens well and is a good conversationalist....and he seems to enjoy what he does as well as has good selling technique...not pushy but has good suggestions on quality hardware based on customer needs!! Great guy to keep around!

Due to a coin shortage company policy is that all cash transactions are rounded up. Guy opens the cash drawer and what do we get to see? A register full of coins. Want to pay with a card? Not without all of your personal information being given up. All of this for a less than $17 purchase.
I just went in to browse. Prices are pretty high but they do have a lot of sales, have a TON of instrument options and even have lessons here. It was organized, clean, and spacious. It was my first time going to a Guitar Center and I was there to look at keyboards. The selection was scarce, however, the staff was polite, welcoming and very knowledgeable about their trade.

I really cant say enough about these guys and the respect they have for customers I dont even play an instrument but guess what my son NOW takes drum lessons here and heck I dont even know if he likes it but we do like the people...... Just visit the place and you will see its crazy.

They are always ridiculously helpful. The times that Ive had problems with products, thy have been extremely accommodating. Ive even had products that were fine, but something on my end was done incorrectly and they never hesitated to help me out, even though they werent required to. Great used gear; phenomenal customer service. I will recommend this place to my children if they become musicians.
Get there 1 hour after your supposed opening time according to your website and hours posted on door. Yet not one single soul except for the guy standing with me waiting for a pick-up that you scheduled for that time a lot. Doors are locked and lights off. If your not gonna be open don’t schedule pick-up. Horrible way to operate your business
My son has just started to get into guitar so we went to guitar center to see about buying a new guutar for him. Davis was our sales person. He was very knowledgeable and had some great suggestions for us. We told him that we wanted a good quality guitar for as little money as possible since my son was spending his own money. He took us right to some beautiful guitars. 10 minutes later we were walking out of the store with a guitar that my son will love for years. Thank you so much Davis! They are lucky to have you on their sales team!
Prices are too high. Used to be able to get a good deal. Maybe at least 10% off. They would not come off anything on a used amp. Zip ziltch, nothing. So Ill take my two cents somewhere else.
Awesome place for any type of musical instruments and everyone there is knowledgeable about everything in the store and will go out of there way to help you. I recommend anyone that has questions or needs anything from drums to speakers to do equipment, they have it and they also rent equipment out with great rates.
Very knowledgeable sales people. Most play in a band. Not pushy. You can browse at your leisure and if you have questions, they are right there to help you.
Pretty cool place. Im not much on big chain companys but will do business in the future. The staff was helpful and patient. Its not easy to please a teenage girl, they took their time with her and made sure she found what she wanted.

This is a small Guitar Center so the selection is much less than what I would normally expect from a Guitar Center. The employees have always been helpful and we are generally asked by more than one employee if we need help with anything. It is fantastic that you can plug in any instrument and play.
OK so I do I have to give them a one. I went to the store to buy a keyboard for my daughter the guy just completely left me I asked him a question about the keyboard he said oh let me find out that he went over and waiting on like three for Christmas and just left me standing there I will never Ill drive all the way to Oklahoma City versus the one in Norman so I guess they dont like my commoner not sure what the deal was

Really unfortunate that after I purchased a guitar for nearly $1,500 the morning of October 10, 2019 that this store cancelled my order to sell it to someone else. Classic Guitar Center mismanagement, and horrible customer service. It’s also unfortunate that I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Norman Department of Commerce. I was patient and gave them the chance to honor the sale, but they refused.
This is a great place to find music gear with plenty of high quality guitar. They also carry shakers and DJ equipment drum sets and everything a music man needs.

The guys here are very knowledgable and helpful, and they have tons of cool stuff. I was very excited about this place when they opened up and was not disappointed. They have what is needed and I plan to have them fix my Ibanez. They are reasonable.
I drove from Oklahoma City to Norman to see if they had anything different than the one in the city, and they did. It was the tiniest Guitar Center Id ever been in, and Ive been in at least 13, in several different states. Also, what they had different was a poor selection of electric guitars, vs the good selection that Id seen at all other Guitar Centers. (Ive seen mom & pop stores with more guitars) Not only that, I was bothered by 4 different salesmen asking me if I needed help, when Id only been there about 5 minutes. (They were all congregated within 10 feet of each other.) Mind you, I didnt touch a single thing, I dont look like anything other than a normal person, and I dont dress like a bum. (I was given the impression, not of actually wanting to help, but one of suspicion as to what I was doing there?....I was shopping, trying to find an American Standard Telecaster...of which they had none!) Ive always hated the attitude of Guitar Center employees, in that they apparently think they are cooler than rock stars, but these guys annoyed me to such a degree, that I just left. Judging from the fact that I was the only guy in the store, I dont expect theyll be there long, giving such wonderful service. (The other reviewer calling them High School Hipster Ass Hats was dead on!)
This location is considerably smaller than the north side but still very convenient for normanites! Theres usually a good selection of new and used equipment and the staff are attentive, knowledgeable and helpful.

I placed an order for a drum set for my kids 16th Birthday two weeks before I needed them after three orders once in the store and twice thru customers service. I had to cancel because they did not have the items in stock, even thought they assured me they were available. I am disappointed and have no drums for the Birthday boy.
