After having a horrible experience with another dealer, Randy restored my faith in the Used Vehicle Industry. Another lot sold me a car with a blown head gasket and failed to follow thru on the warranty. Thinking the car was a total loss, I went to SMC in search of another car. Instead of simply selling me a car to turn a profit, Randy gave me options and got me in touch with a mechanic that could replace the engine in the vehicle I have. That is customer service that is above and beyond the norm, I highly recommend these guys :)

My younger son unexpectedly needed a replacement vehicle and I gave him an arguably low budget to stay within, knowing that he has some rather expensive taste, lol. He did some searching and found a really beautiful BMW with low miles for the year in GREAT condition. We went down and test-drove it and bought it the next day. Within 45 days, my older son was also unexpectedly in need of a replacement vehicle. I told him to shop around, but to definitely consider the cars at SMC. He told me he had looked around and he could not get the same quality of car anywhere close to the price at SMC. I couldnt have agreed more. OMG, This group are AWESOME!!...I found the vehicle we were looking for in CARFAX and rapidly called them. This happened Saturday afternoon and they convinced me so much, along with their 5 stars that we bought a oneway ticket right away from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Charleston, SC the very next day. Chris gave me all the information that we need and more. They even recorded a video, sent it and gave us more pics. Once we landed, Chris picked us up!, test drove the car and officially we bought the car!. This process took less than 24hrs from seen the vehicle to drive it off the lot. The car drove like a champ!. We bought a 2013 BMW 135i fully loaded and feels like a 2020 VEHICLE. I helped my sister get a car and they gave me $200 as a referral for her buying a car as well. Overall my experience with them was pleasant. I Will conduct business with them again.

No Typical Dealer Fees, a Great Price and an Outstanding sales professional! Whats the Catch?Found a nice Kia Soul on their website with an extremely reasonable price. Whats the Catch? Typically, dealers publish a low price and get YOU with all the dealer fees (Documentation, Prep, required warranties, etc). SMC was different.I informed the sales person (Randy - exceptional guy) that I would be traveling over 2 hours to see the vehicle and purchase - if it was ok.I asked him to make sure it is ok, cleaned and prepared because it would be a gift.My initial viewing of the car caused concern. Engine Code! Randy attempted to explain, but I was not listening. You see, Ive heard it all before... typical sales person talk. After consulting with Google, it turns out the code was just as he explained. Still, they almost lost a sale for something the could have easily been avoided by letting the car run for a few minutes before my arrival. Cars should not sit for long periods of time without starting - the gremlins appear.Anyway, Randy pulled out his ODBC - confirming my ODBC findings - and called the owner. He agreed to document on the paperwork that they would pay for the repair - if the code reappeared. But, they were confident it would not. I was surprised the owner quickly came to the property. Meeting the owner was helpful - nice guy.But, the true Image of SMC came forth when a homeless man entered the office and asked for a bottle of water. It was a hot day!You see, I saw the Bible in their lobby. But, thought... I hope it is more than a prop. Randy told the homeless guy, sure the water is right over there in the mini-fridge. He left the man and came back to assisting us.That small, yet HUGE gesture - spoke volumes and only then did I let my guard down. I mentioned his Christian treatment of the homeless guy and how it changed my perception of the company and everything he has spoken. He was truly touched.From there, everything was smooth. He shared more about his and the SMC philosophy and his personal commitment. He documented the agreement to fix issue. He even called about an hour after taking delivery of the vehicle to check on the issue and the vehicle.Exceptional Service! We really like the vehicle and would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

I had been shopping around for a particular vehicle for sometime here in Jax, Florida - a BMW 335i in particular - when I came across (a more rare) blue 2011 335iS w/ 77k from Southern Motor Co in South Carolina. Upon a few back n forths with Randy and Chris (the owner), I made my way up 2+hrs to look at the vehicle. The car was as shown, practically flawless and ran beautifully. After some discussion on the numbers I decided to purchase the vehicle, trusting the quality of service I had been shown. Transaction was smooth and I purchased a warranty with the deal and drove the car home that night.Now after driving the car for practically three months it still runs great! Couldnt be happier with it. The issue was when I brought the vehicle in for an inspection, and had some oil gasket leaks that of course needed to be replaced after 80k miles, very normal on these cars, the warranty is supposed to cover it. Well they did, but only half the job, Labeling some of the leaks like the oil pan housing, pre-existing, which made no sense because the car was inspected by Southern Motor Co. and it had passed. And I had driven it 4,000k + since then.Issue SOLVED: Regardless, not only was Southern Motor Co. responsive in hearing out my issue - 3 months later, they were quick to thoroughly investigate, and take care of the problem, correcting the discrepancy, THANK YOU!Chris only wants quality cars sold off his lot, but even more what is fair to his customers, thats the kind of people they are.The car he sold me is a quality car, that later on just needed some regular maintenance - being a performance vehicle - when the warranty company plopped on their full obligation Souther Motor Co was quick to correct the problem.Looking for a car can be stressful, you never know who you can trust. Southern Motor Co. made me feel great about my purchase knowing they had my back, and when it mattered they actually did.I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone shopping around for a quality used car.Thank you Chris!

Having worked in car sales in the past, I have certain expectations of a dealer that most places in the area cant hold up to. Im well enough versed in the tricks and gimmicks that can be pulled to know when the business is shady. That being said, I couldnt recommend this dealership more. Everyone here is extremely nice and very helpful in probably the most transparent way I have ever seen a dealer operate. They dont try to hide things or tell you amazing tales that could never come true. They even got me a significantly better car than what I initially expected, for less money at that. The owner Chris is fantastic. He was very patient while I took a few days to work out my finances and did everything he could to help me get the best deal. He wouldn’t let me leave his lot without checking the tires and oil. I had never had such great service. Usually I feel rushed and pressured by car salesman and I had none of those feelings at his dealership. The first time I came in he has a hysterical women who couldn’t get approved for car insurance. She was there for hours. He cleared out an office to give her space to figure out her affairs. I found the women to be very loud and rude, Chris didn’t bat an eye at her behavior. He stayed calm and polite through the entire transaction many times helping her with her calls. I would never be able to tolerate that type of behavior. It was a good reminder as to how we should always be kind to others. I will absolutely return for my next vehicle. Chris restored my opinion of independent dealerships.

Had a great experience here. Chris, really helped us find a car for a fair price and gave us all the details without withholding any information. The place was very welcoming and I didnt feel like I was constantly trying to be forced into a sale. Keep up the good work!

Don’t buy a car here ever. Worst customer service these people will jack up the price telling u they won’t charge a dealer fee in the beginning but they will add 900 for the dealers fee. Will never recommend this place to anyone

Just spent a couple days helping my girl friends car shop, one sister was in an accident and it left them in dire straits to find a new car in 2 days. Great great great customer service! Randy and Chris are super great! We were looking for a car for a few weeks and found a 2015 Kia Optima on their lot and went to check it out. Unfortunately it had already sold, but Randy and Chris were upfront and honest about the Kia and then suggested the 2016 Honda Civic they had. Randy and Chris told us about the Honda and the better features it has to offer. Next thing we know we purchased the Civic and very happy about our decision!
