The staff at HearingLife have been very professional with helping me find the perfecthearing aids. The time Brenton took with my husband and I to assure us that if the hearing aids we were considering purchasing were not the ones I would be comfortable with that he was willing to work with us until we found one that worked with our budget and my type of hearing loss. I am writing this as a testimonial to the care I have received in the hands of Brenton Hoyos. I have been going to him for about a year and a half and have nothing but praise for his professional way he treats his clients. I purchased hearing aids for the first time about seven years ago from a different company, hoping to improve my hearing so that I could carry on conversations with others. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my hearing aids. I still didn’t seem to be able to understand conversations as well as I had hoped. Since the hearing aids did not accomplish the results I had hoped for, I quit wearing them. So once again, I was reluctant to join in on conversations with others. I decided to just accept the fact that hearing aids would not work for me.I happened to be watching TV one day, in which I had the volume turned up very loud to hear what was being said, when an advertisement for AccuQuest came on. It sounded like they were saying that they had hearing aids that could be tried on before deciding to purchase them. I called AccuQuest in North Charleston SC and made an appointment to see Brenton Hoyos. Brenton was very helpful and explained to me exactly how the ears work. He showed me how the ears work so that we can or cannot hear. Neither the company where I had purchased my last hearing aids, nor my ENT had ever explained this to me. Everything made much more sense to me and I really appreciated Brenton’s patience in helping me understand all this.Through all the testing that Brenton ran on my hearing, I felt like he was genuinely interested in helping me. When the testing was completed, he gave me a pair of hearing aids to try and it blew my mind. I was totally amazed at what I could hear with those hearing aids. When my wife and I walked outside after my appointment, I could actually hear the birds singing!I have been wearing my hearing aids every day for the past six months and can honestly say they have changed my life! A total difference from struggling to hear, to truly being able to hear what is going on around me; something I haven’t experienced in years! I came to Brenton after experiencing hearing difficulties for the past 3-4 years. He was concerned about my ear drum and referred me to an ENT. I went to Charleston ENT and the Dr. I spoke with (well keep him nameless) was very rude and spoke negatively of AccuQuest, which surprised me. I went back to Brenton and he helped me get the hearing aid I need! I would highly recommend anyone to see Brenton if you need help with your hearing!

A month ago I went AccuQuest to have my minor hearing loss evaluated. WOW! More loss than I thought. Mr.Hoyos was great, he took time to explain everything, never felt rushed. I walked out hearing sounds more clearly and sounds that I havent hear in a while. The loud TV is no longer a problem for my wife who encouraged me to have the exam. I wear my hearing aids every day, very comfortable. Sometimes I check to make sure they are still there. NO REGRETS. There is one regret, I should have seen Brenton Hoyos sooner.

My husband was fitted with hearing aids 3 yrs ago from Charleston ENT. He was never satisfied with the fit or sound quality after a handful of adjustments and quit wearing them.We made an appointment with Accuquest for today. I cannot tell you how impressed we were with the knowledge shared by Mr Hoyos. He was thorough and answered all of our questions.My husband keeps telling me I can hear the raindrops on the roof.With Mr Hoyos help we downloaded the App so that my husband can adjust the sound level. We left with hearing aids in tact. Next stop dinner. I cannot tell you the amazed and smiling face while Charlie adjusted the restaurant sound to a negative 2. While stationed in Vietnam as an engineer, our fire base was shared with an artillery battalion with 8” and 155 howitzers. Due to this, I knew I had lost some hearing ability. However, my wife kept after me to have my hearing checked because she felt I was not hearing everything she said. I also noticed that I was missing some dialogue on TV when the conversations were very fast.I noticed the AccuQuest ad in the local newspaper and called for an appointment just to please my wife as I really did not think I had a real hearing problem. They stipulated that I needed to bring my wife to the appointment as she would be part of the examination and evaluation. Brenton Hoyos explained each step of the process and checked my ears to ensure they were clear and that was not my problem – they were and we moved forward.He next had me close my eyes while my wife sat about 5’ away and read a list of words to me. (I told him I would not miss any of them.) Boy, was I surprised!! Sure, the words did sound alike; however, with my eyes closed, I missed about half of them.We then completed a hearing test in a sound-proof booth similar to the ones I had in the military. This one was much more complex and included listening to sentences spoken at different levels by a woman. I then had to repeat the sentences to the best of my ability. (This was to adjust my hearing aids to my particular needs.)Once this was completed, Brenton fitted me with the specific hearing aids that met my specifications. He adjusted them to ensure that I was hearing to my maximum ability. I took them home that very day.I was somewhat taken aback with the price; however, when I realized they were actually very sophisticated, adjustable computers, that improved my life, they were well worth it. AccuQuest also has an interest free payment plan that was very attractive.I have worn them at football games, parades with salute guns firing, restaurants and in group outings without any problems. They are very comfortable, unobtrusive and I am hearing a lot of things that I have been missing through the years.AccuQuest has an outstanding plan to maintain and continue to adjust the hearing aids to ensure I am hearing to the maximum level. There is a one week, two week, quarterly and annual schedule for cleaning and maintenance to ensure a high level of hearing ability.I am completely satisfied with Brenton and AccuQuest’s program and product.Ernie B.
