RV diesel road service on I95. Came when they said he would, had parts needed on his truck, and did a timely repair. Price was right. The owner, Sal, bent over backwards to help us, as this was the Friday before the Labor Day holiday weekend. Josh, our tech, was great! 1000 percent recommend!!

I had heater lines that broke on my 2019 Peterbilt 567 and lost all coolant.the mechanic was there in a timely matter and had the parts I needed were not available until next day,he went to dealerships found parts and fixed them to work on my truck since the parts I needed were Paccar direct only and noone had it.he figured it all out kept me off a tow truck and from sitting at a dealership for who knows how long and I got to move on without any further delay.30yrs of driving and breakdowns and these folks done it fast and right and didnt leave me stranded professionalism top notch!! NELCON FOR THE WIN!!!! Nelcon is 100% the best towing service in the state of CT!! I blew out a tire on the highway and my insurance company contacted Quality Car Care in Hartford to tow my truck back home. Quality Car Care called me and said it would be an hour till they got there. THREE HOURS LATER they STILL did not show up. I called them over and over again...no answer. I read their google reviews and almost every single person who needed a tow service said that the tow truck never showed!!! I ended up calling Nelcon and they showed up to my location in TEN MINUTES!!!! Talk about A+ Service. Very nice people… the TA got my starter stuck and over charged me like never before I called these guys they towed me fixed my starter got me up and running and fixed an extra issue for me over all great people and the owner is a nice guy too… I already came back and plan to keep coming back… I highly recommend them they know what they are doing

My wife and I and 2 grandsons (10 and 7) were stranded on Route 691 with a flat tire on July 2nd. We were escorted off the highway by a trooper but now needed a tow in order to purchase and have a very car-specific tire mounted. After a brief wait, Sierra from Nelcon Towing, arrived. She was very efficient, professional, and courteous during the entire process of loading the vehicle and transporting my car, and me fortunately, 32 miles away to have the new tire installed. Her driving was excellent the whole time during pre-holiday/commuter traffic during a heavy rainstorm. All in all, Sierra made a very difficult situation go much easier for us all that day. Well, like I promised the Owner Sal, these guys went above and beyond on my road service.Josh really tried to save me money he tried two parts to get me going then, Sadly we had to order a third part for KW . So this out me down for 6 days waiting on the part to arrive. Sal recommended a cheaper hotel that was close to things to do. But my tow Experience with Jay and his helper (sorry can’t remember his name) was so exceptional, professional,friendly. Jay went above and beyond after a long day to get me a ride to Motel. After all the time I was Very satisfied with my repair although pricey it does come with Owning your own truck so market wise was “edible” for what it was. I want to thank Sal and Jay and Josh again. You are all “Rock Stars”. Sal your a man of your word. Only bad if I can add one small thing Dispatch could be more informative when you call and not switch you around several days and times when I called for updates, call back like you promise “I” and others are Counting in you to give us info. With all due respect and joking aside I hope I don’t see you all again for a long time LOL but if I do I know I can count on you to take care of me with professionalism.

I used Nelcon for their towing services. My car is still at their shop. Paid them on Friday 11am and was told be home in an hour and the car will be there. Never got the car or a simple phone call that Friday. I called back 9pm Friday and was told be home Saturday between 4-5pm and my car will be there. Saturday came and again no car or even phone call. Now Sunday 11:30am still no car. I called them and asked about what’s going on and a possible discount and was told she never knew about the car needing a tow and my discount is not being charged for the 2 additional days it was at their shop and that she is taking tow drivers off the road who are locked out of vehicles just to bring my car... Seems as there is poor communication in the office and lack of customer attention at this North Haven branch. I called out of work early two days to be available for my scheduled tow and never got my car and got a woman on the phone seeming to downplay the importance of my vehicle and paid service. But it’s ‘ok’ to her because they’re not charging me the additional 2 days storage fees... thanks

My car got towed due to alternator belt broke. The tow truck was there a lot sooner than I thought and he was very friendly. It was brought to Nelon. They were informative. My car was done in a very reasonable time. The quality is great. This is why they are my new mechanics for my car.

I know its a little late but I had to say something. I was recently in a tractor trailer accident where the tractor trailer flipped. Yet On that same day July 1st the family Van left broke down and left my family stranded in a parking lot of a grocery store. I had to get out of the hospital and deal with that in a lot of pain. The reason why Im saying this is so everyone knows what type of bad day I had But even with that being said once I called for a tow I was still Optimistic about how my day would end. To my greatsurprise a wonderful gentleman named Jamie showed up and realized the pain I was in and was very concerned but still overwhelmed with such a good vibe. This man of course did his job but went above and beyond just to make sure that I was comfortable and he honestly put a smile on my face just with his attitude. Even with A day like that this man not only got the job done but definitelyleft a phenomenal impression. Nelcon Services has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 5or6 yrs. I now understand why. As someone who grew up in the Towing Industry, They are very professional, but down to earth. Nelcon towed a Camper for me, and not only was the driver very professional, but was also personable, and a very good driver. He went above and beyond for me, even putting the Truck exactly where I asked (wasnt the easiest as my road in under construction, and road is very narrow). We struck an ice chest on the interstate - heavy traffic, middle lane, nowhere to go - and had to pull off. We were 100 miles from home on a Saturday afternoon, with fender caught in the wheel well and fears about possible leaking fluid. AAA connected us with Nelcon (thankfully), and the dispatcher understood that we needed help to get on the road to visit our nursing home-bound aunt. They sent Mike, who could not have been more helpful or professional. He quickly sized things up, removed the tangle in the wheel, and determined that all fluids / lines were ok. We were good to go. We pulled off the interstate to take another look and who should appear but Mike, checking to see that were ok. Wow. Had that not been the case the dispatcher (Bill) had set us up with a local Firestone dealer that had mechanics at the ready. We made it to the nursing home for our first visit in 15 months, priceless.

A couple of weeks ago during a snowstorm I got stuck on the snow not being able to gain traction on my semi. Every other company was telling me they couldnt make it out there until 9 a.m. but these guys had a guy named Jay come out to help me. This man was a lifesaver. Temperature was 11 degrees and every snow plower in the city was just piling snow on my truck. I thought I was going to freeze until he got there. He was able to help me get out of the spot that I was at and gave me some guidance on where I could go and park safely. They didnt try to price gouge me like other companies. they actually gave me a very decent and reasonable rate. Seriously thank you to the dispatcher that was on top of the situation and Jay for coming out and getting me unstuck that day.

Nelson was a life saver. Our car battery died while we were visiting a park. They had us back on the road within an hour. The gentleman who assisted was very friendly.

I had a tire blow on a car tow dolly while traveling on I 84. This is not covered by AAA. I called Nelcon Service. Jamie, the tow truck operator showed up sooner than I thought he would. Jamie is a friendly and knowledgeable guy and got the dolly on the rollback and hauled it to their garage.Mark and his son installed a new set of tires on the car dolly. They did a great job and I couldn’t be more pleased.I highly recommend this business.

Truly excellent service! My right front axle broke on the highway while I was moving to San Antonio, TX from Boston, MA over Memorial Day weekend. I called AAA (didnt quite even know where I was) and these guys came and found me within 15 minutes for a tow and gave me and my cat a ride to the shop. At the shop, Eddie worked hard to find me a replacement part over the holiday weekend to get me back on the road ASAP and was able to fix it quickly once he got the part in. If you have to get towed or have work done...I would definitely recommend this place! They took great care of me during a super stressful time and Im so grateful for their professionalism, but also how much they did to go the extra mile and make my situation easier!

Courteous and pleasant very timely didnt have me waiting long. A little pricey but i would definitely use their service again.

I got a flat tire late Sunday night and I called AAA. They sent out Nelcon to put the donut on my car. I loved the follow up texts and automated phone call to let me know when they were on their way and also when they arrived. Once they arrived, they did the job in less than 5 minutes. I even commented that they were faster than Uber! LOL I really appreciated the help especially so late at night.

Service was great and really fast! I was stuck on the highway and within 10 minutes a young man came and towed the truck because my tire blew out. He told me not to stand in the rain and to get into the tow truck which was very polite while he was hooking up my truck. I would highly recommend the company!

I called AAA and Nelcon was sent. I wish they were not but I am partly to blame. The driver showed up and as he was hooking up my car we started talking. He asked where I wanted to car towed and I told him the dealer. He told me that the he previously worked at the dealer and they always overcharge. He recommended his shop Nelcon. Said he would take care of me. He was a nice guy and I trusted him. My car had an error that said “turn off car, low oil pressure.” I told him this and he assured me the technician will be careful not to turn it on and evaluate it delicately. I got a call the next day from the technician telling me that he turned it on a tried to bring the engine to temp to see how much oil it has (the car does not have a dipstick). The car turned off and he again tried to turn the car on to see how much oil was in the engine. He did this until the car did not start. He recommended I get a new engine.1/10 please save yourself.

Called early dismorning around 830 am, woman did not identify herself. Made appointment for tow at Gabrielle truck sales parking lot to move my unit to the old montessi volkswagen dealer on state street in north haven, I explained the difficult spot it is in, she mentioned they would be over in hour or two, I called back after 5 hours again wan did not identify herself, a tow truck driver in flat bed arrived on scene at this time I was on phone with her. He mentioned he would not be able to tow it, mentioned he would have to have another tow driver come down. At this point I declined all service, and cancelled appointment. All around poor service, Im sorry I wasted the day waiting on your company.

I called them broken down in con. On the way to abington MA and they where there within 45 min and towed me all the way to shop really nice guy I highly recommend them awesome job and cheap thank you guys for everything I was on an f550 they had no problem picking ut up the guy Jamie knew what he was doing and had a ton of experience

Hit a huge pothole out in the country this morning and AAA towed me here. The first thing I noticed when I got there was how clean the building was. They initially thought just the tire was shot and called for a replacement to be delivered. While waiting they took the wheel off and saw that the rim had been bent as well, which they rolled in to show me. They told me it couldnt be hammered out because it was aluminum and would need to be replaced entirely. Is this true? No idea, but they found me a used replacement nearby for ~$120, which was probably way less than the labor to straighten it would have been even if it were possible. I arrived around 10:00 and was out by 12:30ish and the thing that took the longest was waiting on the tire guy (from Town Fair) to show up.What I really appreciate was that there was no upselling, which definitely would have happened if Id been towed to Firestone as has happened in the past. The tire and rim were messed up, so they replaced the tire and the rim and thats it. The most anyone did was note that I was overdue for an oil change, but they didnt say anything beyond that. They also told me that I could send documentation to the city and ask to be reimbursed since the damage was from a pothole, which I wouldnt have known otherwise, and documented what/how the damage happened on my invoice and took photos for me. Overall unexpectedly great service.

My experience with Nelcon was excellent. My car broke down on 91S, I called AAA and they were the ones sent. Josh was the tow truck driver he got there in a timely manner and was very friendly I even felt comfortable on the ride to the shop. I was quoted one price and when I went to go pick the car up I was charged way much less than quoted, that right there demonstrates how honest they are. Would also like to mention that the entire staff are super friendly and caring.

When traveling out of state my car broke down and was brought to Nelcon by AAA. the engine blew and the folks (mechanic & owner) I met with were extremely kind while discussing my options. I was told I could leave my car while figuring out what to do from out of state, I had just bought it a few months before so this loss was devastating—I’m out thousands and worked quickly to sell it for what I could. I called every day to inform them of my intentions to get it gone asap. I took off work to go back and had a much worse experience when I arrived. I was trying to be transparent but was not even given the chance to discuss anything—whoever I spoke with off the bat was rude, rash and accusative, saying I was supposed to sell the car to the owner (I never agreed to this) and acted like I wanted to bring a 3rd party tow onto the lot when I never asked to do that and was more than willing to pay them to tow it. Obviously I owed a yard fee but I am livid and only writing this review because I was charged for 6 days of storage when my car was there for 4. I feel robbed and it made an already difficult situation for me that much worse. It seems they were only kind to me because my dad was with me the first time, but on my own they took advantage of me. If your car breaks down, go somewhere else where they might actually treat you with respect

My car broke down Friday night and AAA sent Nelcon to tow it back to their shop. I was surprised by how quick they got to me. The repairs needed to the car werent worth the cost so I had Nelcon tow it to the dealershipfor a trade in on a new car. They got it over there quickly and for a very reasonable price. Id definitely use them again.

Their tow service was good. But the service center service is horrible. Angelo tow the car and was very nice. but once the technician (KSS) was very rude. I dont know whether he has personal issues or not. He never heard us. Check only the battery and charged us 100 dollars. I had to make him stop otherwise he would have charged me more. I went to the honda service center they charged me nothing. They said probably I had the problem because I left the radio and Air conditioning running without running the car.

My dad and I went here after buying our new enclosed trailer and the staff were very helpful. They checked our tire pressure and filled them up to the correct weight. They also went out of their way to help my dad install a hitch on the back of our truck since we did not have the correct tools to do so. Great people and services at an affordable price. I definitely recommend them for all of your automotive needs.

Called them at 6am on a saturday to tow our 26 ft box truck 160 miles to Philadelphia. They showed up within an hour and safely unloaded to our mechanics lot. Extremely quick response and very professional experience from the dispatcher, to the tow driver and the accounting department.

I’m an out of state tow truck owner/ operator who broke down in Connecticut with a motor that spun 2 bearings .I tried to swap the bearings with no success.I called Charlie who got me in contact with sal from Nelcon who gave me a very great price to tow me back home to Illinois .Sal sent Brian & Will to tow me back home.From the get go Brian & Will were nothing but professional & courteous. This review is for Nelcon as a company but more specifically, for Kenny the driver and Nicole the dispatch operator? Not sure of her actual title but she answered the phone and got my situation under control, so dispatch? Anyway, her and Kenny, were outstanding. It was approximately 2pm and I had been trying to get a tow since about 10am, I was blown off by one company, and another company quoted a time that was even longer than the original time. I needed anyone for any price to tow me immediately because the shops were closing and I need my car for work, especially during this virus pandemic. I had my insurance company cancel the roadside they had coming because well, who knows if they actually were even coming, hours passed and no calls (even though there was a 1hr eta from the beginning). I called the delearship I was supposed to be towed to praying they had a tow truck, they did not. What they did have was the absolute best recommendation for a tow company ever. Nelcon Service Center (& Towing). Nicole was so sweet on the phone talking to my gf and I, even though I was frustrated and may have given her some slight attitude that she absolutely did not deserve. After explaining the severity and time sensitivity of my situation, NICOLE BASICALLY HAD A TRUCK ON ROUTE TO MY PLACE BEFORE WE GOT OFF THE PHONE!!! Like what?!?!?!?!? How is that even possible? Dont know, dont care, all I care about is that Nicole took every word I said to heart as if it was her own family member in need. She had Kenny, the driver, at my place within 20min. And the other places couldnt do it in 4 freaking hours. Kenny was also extremely professional and had a great positive attitude. He looked to be about 25 give or take a few years, but you would have thought he was some sort of older veteran the way he carried himself and our interaction. A+ service all around in every aspect! Nicole and Kenny are the type of people you pray you get to deal with when interacting with any business/service. Please make sure those 2 are rewarded! Promotions, raises, extra days off, something! They both deserve it hands down.I was having a very sh!tty 70degree Saturday, and those 2 turned it around in mere minutes.And for that, I thank you.

Called AAA for tow, overheating issue, wifes card (car registered in her name), told by AAA to just show registration. Driver told me she had to be there, even though AAA said just registration OK. Caretaker of the lot stated it was private property, and he needed to close the gate, driver told him he would tow my vehicle as a trespass.I pulled my vehicle out of lot onto the road so the guy could close the gate. Tow driver refused tow, and reported that I refused to show him registration.**UPDATE**Reply to review 11 months later and want to talk about it now??? Are you kidding me??? Too bad there isnt anything lower than 1 star.

I would need more than five stars to accurately convey my review of Nelcon Service Center in North Haven CT. My wife and I were driving on I-84, when our RV experienced a double tire failure. I contacted AAA who sent Sal and Mark from Nelcon. They arrived sooner than I was told, and after they arrived I found them to be professional, personable, competent and knowledgeable. They made sure we were safely moved from the highway and even put us in touch with a local tire service and arranged for replacement tires at a very reasonable price. While my RV was at their yard I had additional work performed. Their entire team was fantastic. All the work was top knotch and perfomed in a timely manner. It is my intention to have my future maintenance and repair work performed at Nelcon, even though they are located over two hours from my home base. To come across a shop that is friendly, fair, honest, competent, trustworthy and professional is an amazing find. I would absolutely recommend Nelcon without the slightest hesitation to anyone needing any kind of service. They are a “one stop shop”, and a stellar performer.

These guys absolutely saved me from a problem caused by another local service station. They were courteous, professional, and fixed a potentially disastrous situation. AND helped me with NAPA warranty folks so that I didnt have to pay $500+ for repairs and car rental over a holiday. I live 4 states away so not likely to use them again, but have recommended them to family who are nearer.

I just want to give credit to Matt the tow truck driver who went above and beyond his duty this evening. My Jeep wouldnt start, it had a faulty cable connecting the gear with the transmission. Matt went under the vehicle several times to see what was wrong and did a temporary fix to get the car gong again so I could get home. He saved me time and money. He was professional, friendly and helpful. Give that man a raise! I will be recommending Nelcon to my family and friends because of this great experience.

Rip off. Cant find a good mechanic that is honest. Tow Driver told my daughter no charge for Diagnostic if they fix the problem. NOT TRUE. They charged double the price on part. Disturbing when business takes advantage of women. For something that takes 20 mins to fix it cast 600.00 called around for part it was $179.00 at dealer price. You know thats the highest price. They charged $389.00. 100 % mark up . Never again go here

If you have to have your car towed...I have to say, this is one best bunch of guys to get stuck with. My car broke down while returning home on business from CT to NY... I was stuck in freezing in the cold.. The owner(Sal) made a point to ask one of his drivers (Tehron) to start his shift early and transport my car back to NY. Absolutely amazing towing service! I was driving in i84 during rush hour traffic when my crappy car crapped out on me again and I had to pull it over to the side if the highway. The truck showed up, he got the car hooked up and we were driving away in 20 minutes. The driver was very friendly and even had an extra coffee in the truck that he gave to me! He went out of his way to drive by my apartment so I could grab a few things before heading to our destination. Conversation was great, the ride was smooth, the truck was beautiful and clean and overall it was a great experience. Thank you so much!

I had a low oil pressure sign on my car. They knew this. I told them this. They said they would not run car to find issue. They ran car to find issue.

I got a little carried away off-roading, and these guys came and bailed me out. It took a team to get the job done, and they definitely went above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks!

Rip off. Do not use mechanical service. I had air valve leaks problem, which is main problem was break chamber. ( THAT TELL YOU WHAT KIND OF MECHANICAL GUYS THAY HAVE ) parts thay charge me double.

Young man just got finished washing the flatbed when the call came in. No complaints...Just helpful...Kind... When youre talking with a tow truck driver on the side of the road.... Its not one of your best days....LOL

Nelcon helped me when my tierod end snapped on the highway. They came and picked me and my car up. Fixed it for me. And then just checked my tires when I was struggling with my air pressure light flashing. The tow truck drivers, and mechanics definitely helped me feel less anxious about driving. I seem to have issues when Im here visiting. Guess my car feels safe enough to break down here. Haha

Everybody here is nice and friendly . Made sure I got to my auto body shop . Very professional and very happy with the service .

AAA quoted 1.5 hours but they were there in 10 minutes!Labor rate is reasonable and labor time is also reasonable!Negative/Please consider...The tow truck driver said that someone would be looking at my car on Saturday (broke down on a Friday night). But the mechanics are only there on Saturdays as an exception rather than the rule. So, no one was there until Monday. I wish I had known that so I could try to plan when I might get the car back.I had to play phone-tag with them on Monday to get work started.##Details of the phone tag that you can skip because its boring##10:00am - Received a voicemail from the mechanic. 10:30am - Returned the call but missed the mechanic this time. By 1:45pm, I was still it in this fun game of phone tag. I never got another call, but bugged them again. At 1:45pm or so, got in touch with the mechanic.##______________________________##Part is marked up a little compared to what I could get at NAPA et al., but thats standard practice. So, little-to-no fault there. With a AAA discount it comes out as a wash anyway.So far, my only complaint is slightly difficult communication.

Terrible Experience and Service

I was told by another garage I needed new wiring for my brake lights. I decided to go to Nelcon. They had helped me with a tow last year. Best decision ever! It was a couple of bulbs that needed replacement. It cost under $75 to repair and that was with an oil change!! Friendly, honest and reliable. My new garage. I highly recommend
