I brought my 2017 Ford Escape in on a VERY busy Saturday and Rob (the manager) squeezed me in anyway. I needed front and rear rotors, new brake pads all around, and a brake line flush and fill. Even though I was a walk-in and needed major, labor intensive work done, Rob and his team provided amazing service and had me on my way in a matter of hours. Monro in Norwalk provides the quintessential customer service! They are friendly, quick, efficient and highly skilled. HIGHLY recommended.

SCAMMER! Called and asked for price ahead, even had a sign outside showing the price. Look & behold, charge me more than 2.5 times more in the end. Could have gone for a nicer place and paid for less.If you like being misled and lied to, go to any Monro. Monro would be your best option. Their customer service didnt care to resolve the issue either, probably because they knew it was misleading intentionally and making them good profit ripping people off.

I am extremely grateful that this place is open on Sundays. They were very good to take me in on an emergency basis for a mount and balance of one of my winter tires after I noticed exposed belt on my left front tire, cause by excessive toe-in.Prior to coming in, I installed a rear air spring, to make sure that my car squatted correctly for an alignment. I then rotated the worn tire to the rear, to keep the exposed belts off the road, as my rear wheels have negative camber. I then performed a string alignment at home, to achieve almost neutral toe angle, but I still needed someone to mount and balance a sound tire for me.Monro was very helpful in that capacity. I would recommend them for emergency work like this without regret.During the service, however, I told the technician to go up to 100 foot-pounds on the torque for the lug nuts, as that is the Cadillac specification for a Deville. It is a fairly high torque figure for lug nuts on passenger vehicles, and the technician asked if I was sure. I said that it was the manufacturer spec, and he proceeded. I just checked, the following day, after noticing rear end noise, going over bumps, checking the air spring mounts and fasteners, and then the lug nuts for tightness, and saw that 3 out of 5 lug nuts were tightened beyond the range of my torque wrench, a frightening 140 foot-pounds, and two of them were at around 130. Yikes.I subtracted one star for that, because I only deduct one star per issue. Even though there were five horrifically overtightened nuts, I count that as one complaint.Because I had rotated two of my wheels, I also asked if the tech could relearn the tire positions for the TPMS system, which, when I was a GM service advisor at a dealership, was a service that we offered in the service drive on a no charge, no wait basis. At Monro, I was quoted $150 for the two minute, non-skilled procedure. I declined, and did it myself with a stack of doughnut magnets in my driveway when I got home. It took me under a minute, with no other tools but the key fob.I subtracted another star for that quote.Thanks again for being open on Sunday. I may need your help again, in a bind, but that high torque on my lug nuts is a major concern.I should also add that the tire i had mounted is unidirectional, and they mounted it backward.

Recently moved to Norwalk this year and wasnt sure which auto repair shop to go to. Decided to go to Monro after reading the good reviews on here. I have to give it to Rob. Very honest and humble person to talk to. Explains to you exactly whats wrong with your car, gives you a good price, man of his word when it comes to warranties, definitely deserves a raise or a promotion. My car was fixed relatively quick and very pleased with the work done by his team. Would definitely come back.

I came in on a Saturday morning with noisy brakes. In and out in less than 2 hours. Amazing service! Manager Rob even applied a discount coupon which I was unaware of saving me $65 for rear rotors and pads. He confirmed what I already knew and he didn’t that my front brakes did not need service as I had them serviced 9 months ago. So honest as well!!

Probably the only honest car mechanic I have ever met. I had a impromptu visit as I was traveling to Connecticut. I felt that my car was pulling as I was on the highway. I stopped at Monro Auto Service and the gentlemen provided me with the best service ever. He took my car for a spin to see if he can identify the problem, then when we returned to the shop, he put my car up and checked out all of the tires and pressure etc. He then brought me to my car and pointed out all of the issues. He suggested that I replace all 4 of my tires but didnt force me to do it right then and there even though he knew I was traveling. He said that my current tires is ok to continue to the road trip but just take it easy. This shop is awesome. He didnt even charge me for the assessment! If this shop wasnt so far away from where I live, Id go back to get do any repairs done!!

Sure, I waited quite a bit in the spartan squalor waiting area but it was a cheap oil change and they gave me good advice without some hard sell on how to fix an issue on my car. Very friendly staff and I appreciated the good advice. I would recommend them.

I got in there late on a Friday night (615 or so) and after explaining my situation to the manager and assistant manager (who’s names I didn’t get) generously took my car in and replaced a faulty valve stem. Not only did he fix the one but he checked all the other tires to see if it had the same issue. Overall fantastic experience, great group of professional workers and very thankful for their assistance.10/10 would recommend any procedure from this location!

Couple of weeks ago my tire got flat going on rt.7. Rest of the close by shops said sorry to fix my tire as there was just 30 min for closing.Person at Monroe Auto Service said bring it over, I towed it to them, within half hour I was on my way to work.I really really appreciate you guys. I overall had an excellent experience at Monro Muffler recently. I had known the former manager Dennis who ran the place pretty efficient before he left. I was concerned what would happen to the service when he left. However the new manager Rob Rottmann stepped in and completely eradicated all those concerns. The level of service Rob demonstrated was top notch. So although I am sad to see Dennis go I am more than happy that Rob is there. I am sure Rob will run the place just as smooth if not better than ever with him now at the helm.

I recently went to this location to have an issue fixed that occurred at a different location. Dennis the manager is EXCELLENT! I look at auto repair like going to a doctor. You want to see the same person every time you go there. It was comforting to know Dennis has been at this location over 6 years. Being new to the area, its nice knowing I have a place I can trust to take in my vehicle.

Terrible Experience. Even after reading the bad reviews on Google, I decided to get my oil change here because I had a coupon. I went there hoping for the best but was met with terrible customer service. Upon arriving and setting up, I ask them if its OK to see the oil dipstick at the end, the man says OK. My coupon included a tire rotation but the gentlemen said that there is no point to do it because I need new tires... So youre not going to do it? No. At the end when we had to settle up, I asked the gentlemen if I will be able to see the dipstick, as normal in all places when you get your oil changed. He now says it is good, no need to. So I went outside and checked it myself before paying. A little customer service goes a long way. This will be my last time going to this establishment and its sad because Ive gone here since high school. Could be cheap if you get the coupon but expect terrible customer service. Might as well spend three extra bucks at Valvoline and leave feeling like your car wont fall apart.

I’ve taken my car to other places and none of them compare to Monro. Monro has excellent, timely service, friendly employees, and most importantly, they get the job done. Highly recommend.

I used this place despite some reviews, they were able to give me a discounted price upon a non appointment brake / rotor change. They were super nice and understanding. They also answered all my questions elaborately. They were quick with their service as well and for that I thank them. Looking forward to seeing them in the future!

I have a 1996 dodge Dakota. I lost the muffler. Everything was still good on my exhaust system. They didnt have a muffler so I bought one and asked if they could put it in for me. The tech brought me out to my truck and said it wouldnt fit. I asked him for estimate for the repair. He said I needed new exhaust system $950.00 I work on cars. It was raining yesterday so thats why I went there. It was sunny today. It took me 35 minutes on my back under my truck to fix it. Total cost including muffler $62.57 I still have few things to return so its cheaper. How do you live with yourself everyday. You guys are scum. Its a muffler shop. I cut 3 inches off the intermediate pipe. Put the muffler on and put a piece of pipe from muffler to tail pipe. 3 clamps and done. I would have paid you guys $120 to put the parts I had on just for the convenience because you didnt have a muffler in stock. But instead you try to sell me an exhaust system for $950. Here is the real sad part of all this. How many people on fixed incomes are going hungry or are going to be cold this month. All because of people like you who take advantage. Karma comes back . Maybe you will get set up by motor vehicle or a news program.

Ive taken my car there several times. Yes, there are some very knowledgeable mechanics for whom English is their second language (after Vietnamese, I believe, but definitely not Chinese). But Dennis the proprietor/manager is very personable, very very knowledgeable and wants your NEXT service appointment (create a relationship), not just a one-off opportunity. He remembers your car and the problems from one visit to the next.

On a road trip from Malvern PA to Boston MA, our minivan needed to be looked at quickly and this was the nearest place. Turns out we were in luck, as the people here are really nice and could help us right away.They quickly found the problem, decided it didn’t need work, and sent us off without charging us.

This place has been right down the road, for two tire replacements. Its real deal, straight to business service you need. Ive only been here for tire replacements but its quick, its easy, they give you the price up front and youre back on the road safely.

3 weeks ago I got an oil change out of town, about 4 hours from Norwalk. After I got home I noticed I was getting a drip in the garage and my check engine light came on. It was a Sunday afternoon, and Monro was one of the only places open. They took a look at it for no cost, and said that they could fix it right away, but it would require me to get another oil change. They told me that they could recycle the oil since it was only a week old. I told them to go ahead, assuming I would be paying full price for the oil change (since the problem was caused by another company). 20 minutes later my car was ready, and when I walked up to pay they told me I was good to go. I havent had any issues since, and will definitely be going back in the future. Thank you for getting me back on the road and making it so easy!

Very knowledgeable staff and great service. This location provides great break repair service, overall car diagnostics and the team is always friendly. I have referred most of my friends and colleagues to this particular Monroe location in Norwalk and they all agree it is the best repair shop in the area. The store manager, Dennis, is very personable and really strives to create a lasting relationship with all of the stores customers.

The service at this place was great. My tires had bubbles that were not from road and damaged and needed to be replaced. The manager was super helpful. He called the tire place that originally bought them from and made sure that i left with all problems resolved.

STAY AWAY! Waited an hour for a brakes to be changed. They came out squealing. I went back shortly after and waited another two hours for it to be fixed. A day later they were just as bad and now theres brake dust all over the front rims and the squealing is louder. I will never use them again and advise people away.

After having my oil changed at a Monro in Hyannis, MA a few weeks ago while visiting my parents, my oil light came on prematurely and I figured something was wrong. I called Monro in Hyannis and they told me to bring it to a Monro close by for them to take a look. Robert, the manager at Monro in Norwalk, went above and beyond to check out my car (which had a leaking oil plug) and fix the problem. Not only did he cover the cost of replacing the oil plug but he called the local Enterprise they work with and got me a 50% discount on a rental car while they were doing work on mine. Excellent service, great guy.

I have to say, these guys really came through for me. They found issues I was totally unaware of. Not only did they work with Geico to make sure everything was processed through the appropriate channels, but they were very patient with me. Went there for a serious exhaust leak, knowledgeable & freindly staff. Could have ripped me by just welding the joint back together but instead i found out that they installed 2 flex joints and did an amazing job that will last for the rest of the cars life. I went there for an oil change today (Sunday). Didnt have high expectations, but wow. The guy inside was not very friendly, but thats fine. The guy he gave my keys to (1) couldnt open my car door and (2) couldnt get it into reverse. Its a manual MINI Cooper. When he turned it on and off for the fifth time and got out, I got in and drove off.I understand this is not representative of the full staff. But go up the street to Splash if you just need a quick change. They give you an interior vacuum and exterior wash, too.

Horrible customer experience. They employ employees that cant understand English. Asked a employee to fix a flat for free as it states on the coupon, he later wanted 20 dollars for a 10 min work and I could of just taken it to curries tires for 10 dollars. among with alot of other crazy experiences I done had with them, Avoid like the Black plague if your looking for a customer friendly zone.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I changed my tires at this joint and found out a week later that they hadnt tightened the tire bolts properly. I could unscrew them with my bare fingers? All this after warning them I will be traveling thousands of miles with a 3,500 lbs camper and my family on board. Unscrupulous, shame on you! AVOID!

They installed my brakes wrong. Had to be corrected by Midas. Brought in the brakes and my new bill to show them what they had done wrong. Asked for a refund. They guy said they couldnt give refunds at the store and said a rep from the company would call me within a week. That never happened.

I liked them more when they were under AAA umbrella...They promote services that you do not necessary need.

Unfathomable how terrible their customer service is. I called and scheduled an appointment for an oil change. Upon asking for a price, I got the most long-winded and uncertain answer I’ve ever heard. THEY ADVERTISE $21.99 OIL CHANGES! How hard is it to say, “$21.99 for conventional motor oil”?I take the car in, on time, and wait….and wait….and wait. I waited an hour and my vehicle STILL wasn’t in the garage. No dialogue, no explanation, nothing! What the hell is the point of scheduling an appointment?! The customer service desk attendant would also disappear for 10 minutes at a time. To make matters worse, the attendant put another woman’s car in the garage before mine because she told them her brakes might need to be replaced. I arrived at least 15 minutes before she did! The attendant simply put the more profitable car in first.This place is the worst establishment on earth. Stay away.

Wish I checked if there was an air b&b nearby.Update: 20 minute tire rotate. No, gravity will not move the tire to the front of the car..Finally walk back there and see the guy trying desperately to remove the rear drum with a large prybar. That not how you do that. Looking at the puddles of brake fluid on the ground I now have no questions as to why the hell a rotation takes so long or as to why my brakes will fail catastrophically in the future. Thanks Monro muffler. Upon trying to ask the tech he responded in Chinese. I need a dial 2 for English button somewhere around here.The guy brings it outside... With my unfathomable faith in these technitions I checked the dipstick. No reading. Didnt think budget cuts were that bad, maybe oil is an another charge here.Sincerely, one less customer...

I was there regular customer and use to go there for oil change and every other stuff. Couple of weeks ago my employer company send me to New York on a project so I have to be there for 15-20 days. My car brakes were really bad so I make them change at NY. after that I regularly hear a sound coming from tires. I call Munroe muffler Norwalk and ask them I need appointment for inspection of brakes, and they said no. Because I go to someone else. Is that mean if we are your regular customer we can not go to someone else . Or did I do any contract with Munroe muffler that no body else can do service of my car. The guy on phone said why are you coming here for check up go back to NY. and this is really bad customer service.Then I go to Smitty Auto Norwalk right next to Munroe Muffler Norwalk. and they inspect my brakes and did a great job in just 15 minutes. Moreover they did not charge me anything for inspecting my brakes.I have 5 family cars and all of my 5 family cars will be going to Smitty Auto Norwalk next time and on regular basis.Thanks to Smitty Auto for good customer service
