I recently went to this Auto Service and was helped by one of their mechanics Scott and within an hour was able to help me with the initial issue I had with my tires. Due to my car being older I am often hesitant in getting additional repairs or modifications however this time I was assured that with a few repairs to my car it would be running so much smoother and this is without a doubt the best mechanic care my car has received in the past 5+ years. After having Scott check my car out it runs better than Ive ever had it running and even budget was was much less than what I was expecting to pay.5/5 I will absolutely be coming back and recommending others to this Auto Service.Aside from that their reception room accommodates a few people at a time and in it are posted their general prices for their work as well as visual examples of the variety of oil change they do. This location is across from a fire station and there is plenty of parking in their lot.

My car started shaking really bad when I drove it so I decided to take my car to Novato Auto Service to get the problem fix. Scott was able to find the problem and fix it the same day I drop it off. The price for the fix was worth every penny! I am glad that I took my car here and would recommend this place to friend and family to get their car fix.

I really was hoping to have a good experience, but unfortunately it left me feeling unsatisfied and inconvenienced. I brought my subaru in to address the rotors, breaks and wheel bearings. I was told it would be done at the end of the day and it would cost me around $1200. I ended up walking around Novato the entire day only to be told that they would need to keep it for another day. I was sent home with a loaner at 5:30pm, exhausted and told it would actually come to $1700. In addition to that, a speed sensor was broken while fixing it and they refused to cover that expense, even though it was caused by their labor. When I argued against it, he said Even God would have broken it. It still didnt seem like a reason to not offer good customer service and cover what was broken due to his work. On top of all of that, I felt that the treatment of the employees there was very poor due to the owners temper issues. He was cursing and harsh when speaking to his wife (who answers the calls) and the mechanics. I will not be supporting this business again.

Had issues with my campervan (2002 Dodge Ram 3500 van chasis) which they were able to pinpoint quickly and finally resolve. It ended up needed a refurbished computer. Once installed, it ran great. They also corrected a fuel evaporation issue which was causing the check engine light to come on. All of this in essentially one full day of labor. I also recieved a follow up to see if things were running without issue. Very nice and knowledgeable group.

Several years ago I tried multiple auto shops in Novato. Found Scott at Novato Auto and have never left. Fair, honest, and diligent when a difficult problem presents itself. Scott and Tonya have a well run family business. Clean waiting room if you’re waiting. Take all three of our cars to them and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Try them. You will not be disappointed.

5/4/21: additional car repairs were needed on my car. Scott made all the necessary repairs. Great service, pricing and mechanic! I trust him with all the repairs on my car.My cars A/C wasnt cooling. Scott refilled the freon? again. This has happened before. Scott did a thorough test to try and find the leak but couldnt find it. He didnt charge me for the refill which was very nice of him. I wouldnt be able to drive my 22 year old without his service.

Local owner and family run business. I coached his son in soccer and his wife made the banner for our team. She also answers the phones at the shop and helps keep the mechanics working so you get your car back that much quicker. Very respectable and honest mechanic. He will let you know exactly what needs repairs and allow you to approve the costs before he starts work. They are usually available by appointment within a few days but can often fit you in on the spot if you are in a jam. Friendly folk and reliable service. Were lucky to have an auto repair shop such as Novato Auto Service here in our community.

Been taking my car there for years. Its the old fashion service where you get a human as well as diagnostics. If you cant walk home you get a loaner. The loaner is a classic, older than your car, more miles than your car and probably runs better than your car. All of this is demonstrative of the fact that if Scott can keep the loaner running forever he will keep yours running too. Try it, youll like it!! Gave him 4 stars because everybody needs a goal for improvement and in this case he should serve coffee while Im waiting.

Our SUV would not start one night while shopping at the SuperMarket. Had the vehicle towed to Novato Auto Service after hours. Left a note with phone number attached to the keys in the Key drop off box. The Next day they called to confirm the issue was the gas pump. They were able to fix it that same day.
