I’d come back for sure 10/10.$58 out the door for a smog check + Star certificate.I was in & out of there in under 20 min.I didn’t have an appointment, and was the second customer in line. 20min was fast.The first place I went the dude said“it’s going to be a couple of hours. Each car can take 45min to test” 🧐I left that place.Came to MJs shop.And was back home in less than 30 min

I have been going to MJ’s for almost 15 years. They have worked on just about every car I have owned. Everything from older domestic trucks to newer European exotic cars to new and older Japanese imports. Their customer service is outstanding. It’s hard to find a mechanic that is trustworthy. I trust MJ’s with every vehicle I have owned. My wife and my son can stop by if they have a problem and they will fix it. I have had cars towed there and dropped off without being there or talking to them and they still take care of it. Repairs maintenance or smog check, they can fix it and their price’s can’t be beat

Theyre very lazy at this place they do not want to do their job they act like moving another car out of the way is a hassle to do your smog people that work during the week only have the weekend to get things done not a great place to go I would rather take my money elsewhere thank you

Quick smog, fair price

I am extremely disappointed in the service that I received at MJ automotive on multiple occasions.I took my mothers car in on 5/27/16 because the car was running badly, the check engine light was on and I could not pass smog test . After running a diagnostic test on my car The mechanic told me that all I needed was an engine coil#5 and a new battery. A couple of days later he called me and told me that the repairs were made and I can come and pick the car up. I paid him roughly $400 total for the services.Before making it home the car started shaking badly, the check engine light came back on. So I went back to him and asked why I was having the same issues he told me to drive the car at least 50 to 75 miles and the check engine light should go off and start running better. I Was very upset because that made absolutely no sense to me. I still could not pass a smog or get my car registered with DMV .So I decided to get a second opinion and ended up taking my car to the Nissan dealership which conducted a second diagnostic that I had to pay for and they told me that MJ automotive had put an old battery in my car and also put in a cheap aftermarket enginition coil in my car instead of a proper Nissan enginition coil.To make a long story short I took my car back to MJ automotive for a fourth time on 8/5/26 to show him proof of a second diagnostic check which stated that he put the wrong engine coil in. He was extremely rude to my mother and I, refused to do another diagnostic and claimed that there must be some other problem. The worst part of our conversation is that as we were speaking to him he turned on a very loud drill and continued to work on another vehicle during our conversation so that the drill would drown out our voices. And then he had the audacity to say If you want your car fixed take it to Nissan. We were blown away by that statement and we Explained to him that we paid him a large amount of money to replace an engine coil which was clearly faulty based on the diagnostic report and we were extremely disappointed in his attitude and faulty service.Now were out of $400 and stuck with a vehicle that will not pass smog and can barely make it a few miles down the road without shaking badly. Im at a loss for words I cant believe this happened to me and my mother and I cant believe that he refused to offer a solution or correct the problem or even put in a cheap aftermarket part without even consulting me.Think twice before taking your car to MJ automotive especially if your woman. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and taking him to court for these faulty services.

Horrible experience all they care about is themselves and not the customer at all

Went here a couple weeks ago for a smog check in my 89 accord lx... gentlemen working were very polite but the service was lacking. Charged me 89 dollars for my car even though their listed price was 50 bucks and told me it was because its older which i understood because most places have done that but what really upset me was how little effort they put into it. Told me my check engine light was supposed to be on but if you look inside the hood it clearly says on the emissions chart that my car is obd exempt meaning I dont even have a check engine light. Took it somewhere else which was a much better value and he actually did 5 minutes of research and told me it was a federal car and that i was exempt to a lot of the carb emissions standards and that I dont need a check engine light. They just didnt care at all and it seemed like they didnt even know what they were doing period. Probably saw i was a kid and figured they could get away with minimal effort and unfortunately they did and i wasted my money going to them. Moral of the story if you’re an enthusiast with a car thats not 2000 or newer they simply will not care enough not worth the time and money i spent. Went back two weeks later and they also acted like theyve never seen me before.
