Mastertech took on the assignment of completely going through our 1956 Corvette to assure that it was in perfect condition in preparation to sell it through an auction. They did an excellent job of checking every detail of this very special car, and tweaking and correcting a few things that needed attention. The shop was clean, and the technicians were very knowledgeable -- we couldnt have found a better shop to accomplish this daunting task. Special thanks to Rick and Bob! Well done!
I have a 2000 Ford E350 4x4 with a 2010 F350 front axle & transfer case. There is also 2008 E350 steering components. I am the 4th owner. All the work was done before me.Master Tech took approximately 4 days to do the alignment in which they found a bad tie rod and a steering pittman arm. They had to figure out what year the parts were from but after a few days yesterdays the van drove like a dream. I highly recommend this place.
My car had to be towed to Mastertech and I was leaving town the next day. Recommended by a friend and they turned out to be a real jewel. Keeping me informed daily and dealing with my warranty people. Thanks to Bob in the office. He was on top of everything. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
Mastertech is a trustworthy repair shop. They give you all the details of your needed repairs and they don’t cut corners. When it comes to my car, I want the repairs done correctly and thats why I continue to trust my safety and my vehicle to them.
Bob is incredible! I took my car in after being quoted an absurd amount at various other repair centers and he was so nice and made me feel very taken care of. He got to the route of the problem much, much quicker than I could’ve imagined and handled everything in such a professional manner. He is one of the nicest men I have had the pleasure of working with and highly recommend his services!
I was very satisfied with their service and how they handled the whole process. It was very professional and personal too, great work and great service.
I brought my daughters Elantra in for an AC service, and was pleasantly surprised from the initial phone call with Bob, to my final conversation with him when he gave me the bill. He quoted me a very reasonable price to diagnose and fill with freon, and kept to his word when all said and done. He also completed in the same day with no surprise issues! I had called Hyundai in Carlsbad to get it serviced there, but they were months out. I appreciate Bobs professional and delightful demeanor, and I can say he has earned my trust and continued business. Thanks Bob and service team at Mastertech!
Based on previous reviews took our 2013 Toyota Rav4 to Mastertech for an oil change in anticipation of using them for its upcoming 60,000 mile maintenance .Had stooped taking the car to dealer for maintenance as their prices were too high. Tried another shop but every time I brought the car in they seemed to be able to find something that needed to be fixed even though the car was running fine.Bob at Mastertech had the oil changed and notified me that every thing looked good and I just needed the cabin air filter changed. I discussed my intention to bring it back for its 60,000 mile check-up and Bob told me to bring in the paperwork from previous check-ups to see what had already been done. Very impressed with the professional approach. Previous five star reviews were accurate.
Ive been a Mastertech customer for a few years and I keep coming back because they are trustworthy, provide quality service and good communication. They do a good job riding the line between wanting your car to be in the best condition but not going overboard with repairs that dont make sense.
The guys at MasterTech are pros. They are fair, friendly and best of all, they are real with you. They are guys you can trust! They tell you what is needed vs recommended...I mean, they tell you both but make it clear. I have been going to them for years now with 3 different cars. Thanks for being awesome guys.
Great experience and very professional. Military discount as well!
This place is great, when I took my car to get it smog tested. It failed of course, but they were on it. They were honest and did not scam me. Lewis was the technician who made sure that my vehicle passed the smog test. I would recommend this place.
Went in for oil change and brakes. Turns out brakes were still 50% of life yet. Honest service. We now take all our cars here!
Great bunch of guys, they do great work
Searched brake repair near me and this shop was the closest and I’m glad I was in that area for the recommendation. Great people, great service, and integrity. I will use this company as my go to.
I am very pleased with the service I received from Bob and Rick at Mastertech. My car was repaired in a timely manner and the customer service was impeccable ! I would recommend Mastertech to anyone! Thanks guys, I really appreciate you guys fixing my car.
The staff has been extremely friendly and helpful, they also kept their prices to the lowest they could possibly go, and avoided charging me for work that did not need to be done, but instead mentioned that a few parts were also going bad. If I have more mechanical issues Im bringing my car back to them
Rick has been fantastic to work with. They are always busy so it does take a few minutes to get processed, but they work very quickly and have had my cars returned to me surprisingly fast for the work that has been needed. Rick is also very fair with their prices. They arent the cheapest, but I will happily pay another 5-20% over the cheapest knowing the work is going to be done right the first time for hundreds of dollars less than the dealership will try to charge. Ricks expertise has saved us several thousand dollars in just two visits. You cant go wrong by choosing to go here.
Honest, reliable and fair. I have been going to Mastertech for five years after a bad experience with a dealer and will never go back. Prices are fair, and the work is quality each visit.
Avoid at all cost! AAA towed me here, and when I go there they told me they would be able to look at it Thursday. ( this was Wednesday). He was incapable of finding the problem with the car, even with the hours he claimed to work on it. If he couldnt find a problem after hours, maybe he should find a different profession. My boyfriend went to pick up the car, ( since ours his) not at closing, a half hour before, and he refused to release the car due to California laws that dont exist. I have dropped off at car at a dealer and had someone else pick it up for me before many times. He called me and said that he was not giving up the car under any circumstances since he was already running diagnostics. I had to come Friday to pick it up, where of course he was rude, since he knew he wouldnt get more money out of us. Taking it to another mechanic that can actually do the work. His side is in the picture.
First time to this location on referral of good friend, who happens to be the Service Manager at MasterTech. They provide quality service at a fair price. Ask for Bob D. He has been in the vehicle service business for many years. He is friendly, yet very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and honest. He will never steer you wrong. I highly recommend taking your vehicles into MasterTech and Bob for your next repairs, general or scheduled maintenance. You will not be disappointed. thanks MasterTech !!
Best place to take your car for maintenance. Dependable and honest.
Undoubtedly the best shop in all of San Diego and Orange county! I’ve gone to Mastertech twice now and they knock it out of the park each time. Nate and his staff are top notch caliber who are extremely helpful, honest, and straight forward. Their services epitomize best quality at the best price. They consistently kept me updated throughout their work all while diligently looking to save me money in parts and labor at every decision point. If you have any doubts or troubles in searching for the right place, I hope this review post reassures you that you’re making the best choice by taking your vehicle here. You won’t find a better trustworthy crew anywhere else.
My Mom brought my 2000 Chevrolet S10 for a smog inspection. It is originally from the East Coast and not a California vehicle. I had a CARB EO Compliant Catalytic Converter installed on the truck. This is the second smog inspection (the previous one passed) and they failed the vehicle claiming the converter was “tampered”. If they did a little bit or research they would see the engine identification code will be different than on the CARB EO paperwork. Federal Converters cannot be sold in California and GM has discontinued their converter for this vehicle.
Mastertech has great customer service and provides quality work. They explain the issues with your car in an easy to understand way, and they take time in answering any questions you have. They have definitely earned our trust and business.
Friendly serviceDefinitely take care of their customersI would recommend them to my friends
Great shop, I always feel like Ive been taken care of when I go there, definitely recommend.
I was visiting the area on a family vacation and had some suspension work done prior to traveling on my truck. I had noticed that there was some concerning sounds coming from the area that the work was and called these guys (Nate) to see if they could check it out to make sure it was safe to drive. Not only did they get me in the first thing the next morning, but they did a complete safety check of the front suspension and did a visual overview with me to show me where the sounds were coming from. There was no work necessary, but they put my mind at ease about safety and they also gave me some pointers to ask my mechanic back at home to fix the issues permanently. The customer service was outstanding. I wish these guys were located in my home town as I would bring my vehicles to them anytime. Thanks again for the great service!
Amazing experience. The customer service is through the roof. Everyone was very professional and courteous. Nate was attentive and very honest with my repair. If you are looking for an honest and reliable shop this is the place to go! I will be going here for all my automotive needs from now on.
Fantastic place to get work done on your car or truck. Ive been working with them for a little over a year. Theyve been helping me restore a 70s model truck.
Nice people but may not be the best for a transmission. i worked near by and thought id try them out. did good on some items with fair pricing. i took my jeep in for a check engine light, they tracked it to the transmission, spent over $2000.00 and did what they recommended however the issue never got fixed. finally went to Rapid Transmission in Escondido and they identified the issue and fixed it less than what i spent at Mastertech, been a year later and still running strong with no issues. dont think ill return, they are a bit pricey for me.
Took my car in for a tail light out for two days just to find out all I needed was a fuse. They also said I needed a new battery so I did. Few days later my engine light came on. Took it in, they kept it for two days again. Report back that I needed a 3000.00 repair suggest that I dont do it. I took my car to another mechanic. This guy told me all I needed was a battery holder. My battery was messing with the computer. My engine light is off. Car running good. I believe I have been RIP off by master tech at 2801 industry st oceanside, ca.Remember there the one who put my new battery in.
Been coming here for years. You can always count on them to get the job done right. They don’t cut corners when it comes to your safety. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
These guys are very experienced and do their homework so as to provide top notch service. They dont get diagnostically side tracked and know what to focus on.
This is my go to shop for both my GMC and BMW. Fantastic team and they know how to take care of their customers! I’ve had basic oil changes, smogs up to major repairs. I can’t speak highly enough about their service!
Mastertech is a very dishonest business! They made my vehicle very dangerous to drive due to performing work incorrectly with equipment that is out of calibration. I still have the voicemail from the owner Rick, admitting that they caused the issues that should of been caught on a road test, which was never done! I brought my vehicle back to Mastertech to correct the work they did incorrectly. They called to say my vehicle was done. I got a ride & was dropped off. When I walked into the office I was told sorry its not done, what a hassle. I then had to take public transportation home. When I returned the following day, picked up my vehicle I found that they made their mistake even worse. I then went to a different shop for a inspection. It was determined that Mastertechs equipment was very out of calibration. I had to pay the other shop to correct Mastertechs work. Mastertech then wanted me to bring my vehicle back for a inspection so they could look at how the other shop corrected the issue. At that point I said No! I then asked for a reimbursement & got an attitude. I then turned Mastertech in to the B.A.R. Bureau of Automotive Repair & AAA. Then the secretary Nate, called my employer & tried to get me in trouble. This action only made Mastertech look much worse! After which I was refunded $78 for the incorrectly performed alignment but not for the hassle, my time & having another shop fix my VEHICLE. Rick blamed the mistake on one of his techs. They dont know what theyre doing, which is dangerous! Definitely go somewhere else thats honest, always ask for your old parts & turn dishonest shops into the B.A.R. No matter what theyre comment is, the facts dont lie like they do! Word of mouth is the best review! Look at the other bad reviews, theyre correct! Watch out!
Nate is just a honest and fair person! When we had car troubles with our new car, he priced a great estimate in comparison to the dealership and even now, that we are servicing our car, he was honest and told me exactly what needs to be done and didn’t try to up sell me. We will be bringing our cars just to him from now on.His honesty and good work is refreshing!
Mastertech is a treasure. I found them years ago because of their AAA rating and can’t be more pleased. I know almost nothing about cars and rely on them to take care of my two 25+ year old cars and to keep me safe. I literally trust them with my life and when they tell me I need to have something done, there is never a doubt in my mind that they are being honest with me. Everyone is friendly and so helpful. Thanks Mastertech!
HONEST!!! Nate at Mastertech auto repair is honest and fair. I have 2001 ford that Nate and Mastertech have worked on. He has always been honest about my repairs and service and NEVER has tried to write repairs just to increase the bill. I trust this shop 100% and would recommend them to anyone!! Mechanics and service writers like this are hard to find. Thanks Nate .
This is a great shop. Nate is knowledgeable, easy to work with and goes out of his way to make sure you have a great customer experience. Repairs and service work is top notch. Its really nice to work with real people with integrity that do great work and remember your name when you call.
Just like 5 Stars says: Woohoo! As good as it gets! Ive had this car for about 2 ½ years, and it was running really ruff. These guys put this car together like it has never ran before. Ill not take my car anywhere else! The final price was lower than the estimate. The work was done a day earlier than we thought. I was given a ride home and a ride to pick up. These are real mechanics. Not the guys that just replace the part and charge you for it and that part wasnt the one needed, and then they guess and guess again. Mastertech finds out what the problem(s) are and makes it work better than new. AAA sent me to them. Thank you AAA. And thank you all the people who worked on my car.
I had a 5 star experience. Nate takes care of the customer. There is no superficial work done. Only what needs to be fixed is fixed. No unexpected maintenance addressed. Hard to find such superior service anywhere! Highly recommended. Family shop.
I started going hear because my car had a lot of struggles with leaks and it constantly breaking down on me so. After all the times I’d being it in by tow truck they’d have me up and running ASAP. I continue to come here for my oil changes and they always try to go an extra mile for me which amazing. Great, friendly and helpful guys. Also, another awesome thing is that they will always explain anything you need help comprehending.
Very honest and very professional! My daughters car was making a horrible sound. My son only uses MasterTech and recommended Nate. Before the repair, Nate showed us, step-by-step, what was wrong, what needed to be done, and how to maintain the car in the future. He even followed up later to ensure all was running well. No hidden surprises. Great service. We would highly recommend them. Thank you, Nate, from a very grateful mom. 👍🏼
Sent my car to get a job done Firestone wasnt smart enough for. Nate gave me a very reasonable price, constantly provided updates and even got me a ride to pick up my car. I will be back, and recommend this shop for any vehicle work!
I have brought my car to this site since the Saturn locations closed. I have always gotten friendly, excellent service from everyone in the place! My car has always been promptly repaired and I have appreciated the fact that they have kept me notified of any potential issues that I should watch for in the future. Everyone is very helpful and my old car runs great! It is so nice to go to a place where they remember my name.
These guys are awesome. Fixed my wiring no crank/no start problem that others tried n failed to find much less fix. Thanks to Nate and all those guys!
Have been a loyal Customer for a awhile now. Great service, fair prices, and quality work! Have referred them to all of my friends and family and they have had great experiences with Mastertech!
Been going to them for 8 years and have 2 Mercedes Benz both still running and Nate always keeps me informed on what to expect. They are the best as far as Im concerned.
My engine seized. I knew it was going to be an expensive repair. They came out $300 less than what they originally quoted, got me an engine with 20,000 miles for a steal, and waited after-hours on a Friday for my money to come through so I could take my car home before I had to leave town for the weekend. Nate was awesome! He kept me updated the whole time and they were so flexible with how I payed for it. I had money come in from all kinds of different sources (since it was a huge fix) and they took it with stride. I WILL be going back for all my car repair needs and I wouldnt hesitate to refer them to any/all of my friends. They were so friendly and understanding. There was no judgement from them considering my negligence in car maintenance, but I now have no problem going to them for anything that I might encounter with my car. They were great! Thanks Nate, Brynn and Everyone at Mastertech!
Red publiclyMegan Moores profile photoMegan MooreI happened to find Mastertech on Yelp, where they (and Specifically Nate) had GREAT reviews. But there are always two or three places with good reviews right? Well, just based on my initial conversations with other shops vs. Nates on the phone, I knew I was going to him. Initially we were just looking to get our vehicle checked out before a big trip, knowing our car is almost 10 years old. Well unlike a lot of mechanics, Nates guys ACTUALLY, REALLY checked it out and came to find out we had a major issue going on that we didnt even realize. A problem that with the strain we were about to put on the car, would have almost definitely left us stranded somewhere and ruined our first big family vacation! Anyway, Nate broke the bad news, and was very honest about it maybe not being worth keeping the car, but that if we wanted to keep our very paid off, very loved Jeep, he would expedite our case and get it done in time for our Road/ RV Trip. The labor was extensive, as they basically had to take the whole engine apart and Nate suggested we utilize the labor costs we were already paying to change out tubes and hoses and what not while we were already in there (Something I know the dealership would have skipped and recharged us labor costs again for later.) Long story short, they broke their backs to get it done in time for us. Nate gave us a great Military Discount, and amazing service. During our trip, one of the parts hed put in, which he got us at a discounted price, but warned wasnt always compatible with our Make, failed and a light came on in the car. (This was fully disclosed to us but he was trying to save us some money on what was a very expensive job) Anyway, he ended up switching out the part for the other one after we got back FOR FREE. Which was NOT his fault, because he told us it might be an issue. And he replaced it with the new part ...let me repeat for FREE. Literally, just no better place to go, because seriously who does that?!When you go to Nates shop, youll often meet people who have driven over an hour, FOR AN OIL CHANGE, just because... for Nate, because its Nate or because Nate is the best. As a female, I appreciate him so much because he doesnt treat me like Im an idiot, which has been my experience with most mechanics my entire life, despite the fact that Im actually pretty good with car knowledge. He explains stuff, then explains again if he needs to. He is honest, unbiased and gives you ALL your options, even when the options arent in HIS best interest. He and his guys really get to know their customers ( and their vehicles) on a personal level and REMEMBER the history on both. Which is crazy because they are super busy, with a lot of customers. Nate always take the time to chat, catch up, and asks how things are going with previous work theyve done. And though his phone rings non stop, he is ALWAYS polite and doesnt rush with anyone. Im bummed we just found him because we wont be around the area much longer...such is the Military life (which Nate knows all too well.) BUT rest assured all our many friends who make their way to the West Coast will be going to him!! Thanks so much Nate and Mastertech crew, youre really the best! Also special shout out to Rick, because he is the nicest guy and talking with him is like talking to a long-time friend!See you soon, (but hopefully not too soon, lol!)Sam and Megan
Fixed my brakes very fast and reasonably priced. Will definitely be using them again. Nate was super helpful and down to earth!
I take both of my cars here to take care of all of their needs. The staff is extremely well trained and professional. I wont go anywhere else for my auto needs.
I called in yesterday hoping to get my van checked out this morning. I was able to make an appointment for this morning and ended up dropping my van off last night. I called in this morning to let them know the van is outside and a man named Nate I talked to let me know I had to fill out an envelope and release the van before the could do anything. Very understandable - I get there are liability issues. After Nate tells me I need to come in to release the van he then continues to tell me its going to be a $150 diagnostic fee and an additional $50 fee just to pop the hood of my van. He failed to mention both of these things when I called yesterday and when I told him that none of this was mentioned before his response was well, did you ask? So, thank you Nate for steering me away from being ripped off and for being highly unpleasant. Im quite happy you wont be getting my business. I highly recommend to anyone reading this to go any where else. Maybe its just Nate that doesnt know how to do business properly, who knows. Just wanted to let everyone else know my experience.
The workers were nice but the prices are unbelievably exspensive. Im 18 years old and I recently went there too get new break pads, rotors, etc. and I got a quote from them for $1700 and was told my car wasnt worth fixing. The next day I took it to sears auto service and was only charged $460 for all of the same work. I do not recommend master tech at all. Go to an honest shop and save your money.
I think they are honest. Took car in for 150k maintenance and they didnt find anything that needed repair. They dont have wifi and no longer have a shuttle service. But they paid for uber since I had no other way onto the internet to work.Google maps doesnt quite get you to there new location. Once you turn right onto oceanic dr take first right. Then right again and around to back corner.
Very helpful people and the work they do there is impeccable. Second time having my vehicle repaired and have no regrets!
I had a fantastic experience here. I had a radiator leak and the owner himself was more than happy to get me in the door and walk me through what happened to my vehicle and made it very easy to understand what happened. My truck was there for a little bit of time, but only reason why is because he wanted to find me the perfect radiator to put in there so that I would not have to bring it in again and I could stay on the road for longer. The front desk was also very welcoming and I felt like they really cared about getting my vehicle fixed. I have been going there to get my tune-ups, any check engine lights, and any other problems ever since. Every time they are just as good as they were before.
Nate and his crew at Mastertech where extremely kind and helpful. As most people know, warranty companys try to wiggle out of their obligations as much as possible, but nate spent hours on the phone fighting for me. They also take pride in their work. Nate found more flaws with my car and did not let the car leave till it was running like a top. They also are very fairly priced.
I had a great experience here. Nate was really professional communicated with me throughout my repairs. I was referred here by a AAA tow truck driver when I thought my Volvos transmission had failed. Nate had their mechanic look at my car that evening to find it was only a broken cv axle, and my car was ready by 10am the next day. This is a place I will definitely be coming back to.
Very poorly run! The guy at the front was rude and unhelpful. I had them running a diagnostic, and they claimed it would take over 5 days. Claimed the car was hooked up and could not go anywhere when asked about the lengthy run on the car. Charged me full price for the diagnostic and came up with no results. Awful job, bad practice, and worse customer service. NEVER recommending this place to anyone. PS, the guy didnt even want to give me their business card.
Messed up and ordered something we did not need after we told them specifically not to. Our 2nd key fob is useless now and they charged us $80 for one they ordered. Would NOT EVEN MAKE UP FOR THEIR OWN MISDOING. They said sorry but basically told us tough luck and to pay the extra. We already had a decent bill, and didn’t need to pay the $80 for something they knew we had. Fix your car somewhere else.
I have worked in Oceanside for 25 years... Master Tech has.performed maintenance on my 750i BMW, my STS Cadillac and most recently my Jeep Rubicon. They have done everything from oil changes, break jobs and replaced headlights. I trust the mechanics and owners in this business. They treat you like a member of the family and most importantly are honest. In a world of automotive up-selling, dishonesty and sub-par work, its important to find a shop you can rely on. Rick, Nate and the rest of the crew are straight shooters and provide fact based input. You take the decision from there... no pressure, no games.
Best service Ive had at a shop in a very long time. Nate updated me every step and even found parts at a lower price than he thought he could. Ill be back for service again and suggest them for every auto need. Thanks guys!!
Took my vehicle in for a regular oil change. I was in and out in record time. The staff at Master Tech are extremely friendly. Fluids were topped of and I was even asked if I wanted my tires rotated. Good service, will repeat again.
I have been go here off and on the last few years. They do good work. They have always treated me right. Friendly staff. I cannot say anything bad about this place.
I cannot say enough great things about the staff at Mastertech. My car was towed here after it was vandalized. I was alone, without a vehicle, with a 4 month old. They offered me rides to save on cab money, were very thorough with the documentation about the vandalism, and made me feel like I was in the best of hands. Knowing I would be driving my baby in the vehicle, they did extra test drives to be sure no damage had been done to the brakes, etc. The pricing was fair, service was great, and they do great work. They went above and beyond, and my family and I are incredibly grateful. I HIGHLY recommend them.
Great guys. Went in for a smog to register an out of state vehicle in california. They explained everything to me and even through in a discount. Will definitely be going back for any car repair needs in the future.
I can’t complain about this guys, they always do a good job, excellent service I definitely recommend them!
I came in for an issue with my oil pan bolt that was over-tightened and subsequently stripped the threads. I was helped by Nate. He thoroughly explained everything to me and what possible things might need to happen (re-tap vs new oil pan). They were able to salvage the oil pan and had my truck ready to go in under two hours (exactly what they estimated it would be). Very nice people. Very fair. Very honest. Ill be coming back here.
I brought in my F250 to get a diagnosis on it because it was blowing white smoke they proceeded to tell me I had A bad head gasket or crackhead . And the service writer Nathan calls me back and tells me its gonna cost me $10000 to fix it they wont do anything to it unless I pay $10000 so I proceeded to pick up my truck and take it to another place and have them do diagnostic and pay another diagnostic fee. So once the guy ran the test on it he figured out it was my EGR system was bad and I had a bad oil cooler So long story short I got my truck fixed for $6000 cheaper than what this place quoted I would never bring another vehicle back here. way overpriced.and there service writer Nathan is very rude. They should send their mechanics back to school to learn how to diagnose a vehicle. I Would not recommend this place.
Very informative. Have not yet had any work done at this time
My son called our regular mechanic because his car kept stalling; our regular mechanic couldnt even look at his car for another week! He suggested calling Mastertech on industry street. After looking at the reviews online my son called and got his car in that same day; Nate needed the car to stay over night to run diagnostics on it. The next day he located the problem, fixed it and the car was ready to go in less than 24 hours! Great service! Friendly staff!! Quality work!! Btw check their website they sometimes run a discount coupon. We will definitely be coming back here.
I’ve been coming to Mastertech with my fleet of personal collector cars, odd ball cars, fancy cars, and cars some would consider junkers for 6 years now. I found them when my previous long term mechanic leaked he sent my cars to them when he couldn’t figure things out (which turned out to be often). They have always been frank with their views on the necessity (and often non-necessity) of repairs when this somewhat obsessive car nut wishes a repair done. Nate is always a pleasure and Lou is a rock star mechanic, from carbureted cars to newish Escalades, odd ball diesels, dump trailers and Motorhomes I can always trust Mastertech. I’ve learned fixing it right the first time is cheaper than mechanics who quote a low price, don’t fix the real problem then you have to return over and over while they throw parts at it without understanding the real problem.
Great shop. Took care of my vehicle right away. Nate in the front office was knowledgeable and helpful. Rick did a great job fixing the problem with my TPMS in my tires in a hurry and got me back on the road. Thanks.
After I hydrolockd my motors couple of weeks ago, I had my 13 Hyundai i30 SR towed to Mastertech. I worked with Nate, who was fantastic. Turns out I really screwed up my bottom end and needed a new engine. Nate found a motor with 5k miles on it, and the motor was pulled, replaced, and tested in 3 days. I could not be happier. I highly recommend Mastertech for anyone needing a AAA approved shop.
Nate and everyone at Mastertech are the best! Honest and professional, I highly recommend them!
I took my 96 Toyota in and had the slave and master sylinder replaced and its runnin better than ever! I highly recommend taking your vehicle to Nate and the guys at Mastertech! They do awesome fast and quality work! I will definitely be going back! Thanks Mastertech!!
Not only does MasterTech do excellent work with regular vehicle maintenance, they are willing to tackle complex and difficult repairs that the vast majority of repair shops wouldnt even attempt. I needed to have the entire electrical wiring harness replaced on my 1997 BMW Z3 - they located and procured a used harness and successfully installed it. The only other option for this work would have been at a BMW dealership, at a cost probably double what MasterTech charged. Their work is excellent and reasonable in price. They are now the only business Ill use for service and repair of my three vehicles.
The best outfit for auto/truck repair Ive experienced.
I have a 2500hd diesel and was pulling a large big tex trailer. There was some noise that I couldnt identify. I called them up they got me right in let me park the trailer there and fixed the issue. Very honest and reasonable! Thanks Mastertech!
I took my 1968 Camaro to Mastertech because my brakes, which were manual drum, had been steadily degrading to the point that I began to question the safety of keeping them. I initially spoke to Nate about the possibility of swapping out the drum brakes for disc brakes on all four corners, as well as giving the motor a good once-over to detect any potential problems and optimize its running condition. I brought the Camaro in and Nate, Lou and I gave it a once over and discussed the best way forward based on my initial input and desired end-state. This was a professional conversation with a solid personal aspect. I know that some people are “all business,” but I prefer to build a rapport with the people I deal with and Nate and Lou gave me exactly what I was looking for.Over the course of the job, I received frequent updates and the majority of the conversations included the “this will work, but this other way would work better,” all based on my personal vision and desired way forward. This was important to me, because I’m not really into the super high-end upgrades that result in a race car, but more interested in having a solid cruiser without breaking the bank. I especially liked Lou’s approach to the work, as he clearly is a classic car aficionado and I could tell that he really puts some love into the job when working on one. Several times I was invited in to see the progress and Lou and Nate were always willing to take some time out of their day to go over the progress, as well as show me around other project cars that were in the shop.Overall I was extremely satisfied with the end result, which is a much stronger and better running motor and brakes that give me the confidence that they’ll work! I’ll certainly recommend Mastertech to anyone interested quality workmanship in the future and I’ll be bringing my Camaro in as my rebuild continues! Well done guys! You have a new customer for life!
I recently moved to Oceanside when our 1990 Chevy Lumina started having mechanical issues. Not knowing any local shops, I did a AAA search and found Mastertech Auto repair. The shop is a little tucked away out of main stream traffic, so navigating there was pretty simple. I was quoted a decent price for the repair that even came out to be less in the end. I was even shown the broken part with an explanation for the issues the damage was causing. Mastertech made the repair that same day and even gave me a ride home and back again for pick up. If asked if I would come back in future, I said: YES indeed…I am satisfied and think I found my go to shop. Not once did I have that strange feeling that I was possibly being bilked, or cheated, but rather I felt comfortable and confident that the shop folks knew what they were doing and charging fair prices for the services. It is no small wonder why they are AAA approved.
I had a great experience with Mastertech, they had my vehicle finished within a very respectable amount of time and saved me from a real time crunch.
I wish I could give this shop 100 stars. Nate takes such great care of me everytime I come in. My first experience with MasterTech was late December of 2016 into January of 2017 where I was originally coming in for repairs to my engine and a quick fix to pass smog. Nate was brutally honest with me about the condition of my engine and it would be a waste to bandaid it and suggested it was time for a new car. I told him about how my dad (who passed away) gave it to me and Id like to keep it running as long as possible. Nate was on board 100% and his wonerful mechanics took care of my baby. They were even able to work within my budget :) I dont live in Oceanside anymore, but as long as Im in San Diego county this Nate will always have my business. He is also a great conversationalist who tells it like it is.
Great Service ! Great price ! They said they were backed up all that day but they got my truck done that same day to save me the Hassle of having to pick it up the next day. Great customer service and very friendly!
Got my car towed here during the weekend they opened up Monday morning and got started on it right away. Got my car back same day and the staff was so polite and nice to my gf and i. We had a very good experience! Thanks again to everyone at mastertech,!
Called about a question regarding work on car. Was cut off and put on hold after 2 min of Q and A because the guy on the phone had a custom in front of him as if Im not a customer...
I took my car here a couple of years ago for new spark plugs. For some reason or another I was unsatisfied with the customer service and never took my car back. I’m just now finding out from a Toyota certified mechanic that the spark plugs Mastertech put in were the wrong ones for the car.
I came to mastertech a year ago to fix my oil cooler and EGR on my ford f250. At first the customer service seemed good and they fixed it and went on my way. Afew weeks later the oil cooler failed again. After returning they fixed it under warranty. Afew weeks later it broke again. They used the warranty again. After that it got clogged again. I took it in and they said it was no longer under warranty. After asking a buddy of mine who is a ford tech to help me put an updated cooler in, we dissassembled what needed to be dissassembled and what i found was a complete mess. There were several bolts missing, several bolts on the intake were not even hand tight. They had broken some of the latches and parts in the truck and overall just did a sloppy job. Im pretty upset with the way things were handled. You should trust your mechanic and after this i do not trust them. I really hope the people down at mastertech get thier stuff together.
I recently needed some work done on my Escalade and I took it to MasterTech. These guys are amazing! The service at the front desk (Nate) was incredible, the driver (George) who gave me a ride home was as sweet as they come and the guys in the back (who I never got to meet cause they were busy working on my car) must be rad cause my Escalade has never run better. Thanks MasterTech 😊👍
Great prices even better help great experience!
I felt obligated to write a review for the experience we had earlier with Mastertech. When we had a small part break, (that I know only costs about $200 in parts and less than $150 in labor to repair) and received a quote from them for $800, I nearly flipped. Not to mention that they did a ridiculous $170 assessment (which I have never paid that much for), which they tried to use to justify the insane quote. I immediately called around local shops and part stores to price compare and I was right - no one (NOT ONE REPAIR SHOP) quoted me higher than $500, most were charging only $400, depending on the quality of the part. When I confronted them about it, they said they give those rates since they operate with AAA and that is their discount - no concern or effort to explain or price match. When I asked for them to explain the difference from $400-800, they tried to say we needed to replace 3 other parts for the warranty to stand, which is completely untrue and half of which come already with the part!! NOT a place we would ever trust to give a fair quote, and definitely somewhere we will never go again.
Great team, great customer service and good prices. If you want your car taken care of this is the place to go!
I have been going to MasterTech close to two years now and they have always been great to me. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. Im always offered a ride home while they work on my truck and afterwards they pick me up. They always get my Ford truck fixed in a timely manner and the pricing is also reasonable. I would recommand MasterTech to anyone. They truely are awesome and I trust them to do any kind of work on my truck. Thanks MasterTech staff.
Very good mechanics and astounding customer service
We had our car fixed there, well we thought fixed. The fuel pump was replaced and a couple days later we noticed the smell of fuel leaking from the car- we took it back to find out they didnt replace the gasket correctly and it had been leaking FUEL!!! SOOO DANGEROUS!! They drained and replaced the gasket but are now making us pay for a new gasket?? no thanks... we will because we have too but will NOT take it there again.. ever..There are many many other businesses out there I reccomend taking your car elsewhere.BTW we got a referral to this company from AAA- we are calling and filing a complaint so no one else will get the reccomendation again.
Rep on the ph answer on a rush, said they charged $150 for the diagnosis, after i told him exactly whats wrong with my jeep and what is like to get fixed. Hung up on my right away. Very Rude. Too bad i didnt get his name to post here. This it just happened today 5 min ago.
I bring in my gfs 2000 Jeep Cherokee because it has a leak and was over heating. First they charge $195 to inspect the car. Then the receptionist guy (High school kid named Nate) calls me later that it needs almost $1400 in repairs! I asked what that entailed and he said it was a rear main seal for the transmission and that would be $804. Then to fix the cooling was going to cost $540. The thermostat, two hoses and coolant flush needed to be done. To change the thermostat and two hoses $500? He said they would finance me. (Gee thanks) Ill take our cars elsewhere.
