Harbor freight has definitely come into its own. I just spent $1100 there, and was happy to do it. The generator I bought this time is fantastic!!

Anyone who has been to HFT knows what kind of product and the quality of their items they offer. I would give 4 stars because the customer service I usually get is friendly and welcoming but their knowledge of tools and what tools are used in each task needs improving. They have in the past given me no hassle returns or warranties which makes spending money there stress less. Not sure if its a management issue or a HFT logistical problem but I have experienced problems with inventory. The website will say in stock but when you get there it is not. No its not Snap On quality or even old school Craftsman, but the prices make it easy to fill your tool box. In the other hand I couldnt put my confidence in them professionally. When they break they dont deliver like an essential tool truck.Update: I give them another star. Because of my recent multiple returns. 1 return I did not have a receipt and no hassle as stated checked my account and service with a cuties bright smile. 5 stars if they could ever get their quality control consistent. So I did not have to make returns.

The employees that work at this store are amazing!. Today I was assisted by about every employee on shift and everyone was amazing and very helpful. The manager Ashley even helped me by delivering an item to my house on her personal time when I bought it before realizing it would not fit in my car. Whatever they are getting paid is not enough they are amazing.

Low price tools but must be careful what you spend your money on because they break a lot with very small warranty window.

Busy and short of staff. Not good if you got two other employees standing around and the line was almost ten people deep.

Coupons exist but it seems the cashiers know nothing about them nor do they have any and if I dont mention it or make a big deal they never offer me one or help me save money. The inside track club applies to certain items and its the items I never need or use. Waste of money so far cause I was told I dont need coupons if I give them my phone number. The discounts apply directly for being a member. I have never found this to be the case. I need to be careful what I buy and make sure discounts are applied or I pay way more than other stores for brands that are lesser quality. Its getting to feel like a scam and not true to their word. I pick and choose carefully when shopping there. Usually I see only one associate working the whole store and that is the cashier, too busy to ask questions or get help in the store. I am not a fan anymore. I have made several comments to the home office/head quarters and not one response.

Great customer service! They were very helpful and patient and were able to answer my questions. Supervisor Ashleigh helped me find coupons for my purchases. All this while it was closing time. Great friendly folks.

Website said the Ogden store had inventory of a certain item. Got there and had none. Wouldnt honor a raincheck.

Ive had some issues at the Layton location recently so me and my brother have started coming to this one even though its farther. Today we were in a hurry to buy a winch to be able to load a car on a trailer and move it. We couldnt find the hitch mount for it so my dad went up and showed the cashier and she radioed back with the part number and before he could put his phone in his pocket the mount had been carried up from the back. Keeley, Rich, Levi and Jason were so helpful and got us in and out of their store very quickly and efficiently and really cared about helping us. The same cannot be said about the Layton store.

Have most any thing you would want

I love using the coupons. But I dont like when the employees are rude and act like the customers are just annoying them. It makes things uncomfortable.

Great tool prices and has weekly specials

When you’re in a pinch, and you need a tool for a job that you won’t be using everyday, this is a great option. If you’re looking for a tool for your trade or something to keep, spend a little more and get higher quality. It’s hit or miss on the cheap stuff. But everyone knows what it is. If you’re good with that, it’s exactly what you expect.

Ashleigh was amazing in helping me return a compressor I had bought and exchang it for a better one. she was very informative on telling me the exchange policy if I should need to return the new one and almost had me convinced to buy the warrant. Her willingness to help and her happy cheerful attitude went above and beyond. She is truly an amazing employee and a good representation of the what all harbor freight employee should strive to be.

Susan was absolutely incredible. Ratchet and sockets had antitheft packages. No problem, remove and return if they do not perform as needed. Definitely, my go to monthly🎩

Bought a 5-in-1 portable charger. Did not work right out the box. Went to exchange as I still need the charger refuse to help me even though they could see it was brand new and had never been used. I know the quality of what theyve always sold here. But they used to have one of the best return exchange policies to make up for that. They essentially sold me a paperweight for $130

They didnt have the tool I wanted but I found something else that cost more and they no longer have the 20% coupon.Bummer

Have always been very happy with the selection and customer service here. Even with the covid stuff in place, and with how overrun the store has been at times, they are willing to take a few minutes with you and pinpoint what you need.

The prices are unbeatable. I do have 2 things though that could use improvement, Ive had to wait in line for checkout to ask a simple question or whether or not they have an item so more workers on the floor would be nice and because the products are so inexpensive some get exhausted quickly. Other than that I love this place and I frequent it often.

Weve been in many times over the years and had pretty good interactions. The company has GREAT prices on tools and their hand tools are good quality. Their power tools are alright too.I love Harbor Freight, but this is not my favorite location. Unfortunately its the closest for me.Ive been looking for a product that is sold out in a lot of locations. Ive been given a lot of help and information from other locations Ive talked to, but each time Ive gone in or called at this location its been difficult to get much more than an apology and a quick dismissal to move on to the next guest.

Most of the time I find what I need or a comparable alternitive. Quite reasonably priced .

I LOVE coming to this store. I’m a female who truly doesn’t know anything BUT trying to figure house hacks out! Every time I come here I feel like I’m looking for a needle in a haystack BUT the employees are so kind and quick to help!!

Service was good. The selves were a little bare (I was looking for an electrical extension cord) so the usual selections/options was limited, but they had 1 leggy that should fulfill my needs (I hope).

Harbor Freight is what it is. A decent place to get some okay tools and equipment for cheap. I havent had any particularly bad experience, but I cant rave about it much either. Some tools are an amazing value, while others dont always hold up so well. Not everything here is cheaper than Lowes or other retailers, but then some stuff is marked down a ton. Its you the buyers job to figure out whats a great deal and whats not

Its more of a 4.5 stars out of 5. I love their deals and selection. Staff their are friendly and Ive always felt like they had the best interest in me. Highly recommend the hand tools department(wrenched, sockets, etc). Check it out when you have a chance.

This is by far the best managed and best run Harbor Freight location. The store manager Elexa does an excellent job! They have great customer service and Elexa’s knowledge of every item in the store, online and what’s on sale is mind boggling. The staff members are always willing to help. Keep up the great work!

I love Harbor Freight! They have great tools for great prices. The staff at this particular location are always helpful and friendly. Aals with any product do your research before you purchase because there can be some duds. But overall I have had great results from my purchases. I would also recommend getting their emails for their emails and deals to get the most out of the store.

This store, be still my soul. I love this place more than life itself. I fell in love with this store when I was in college at Utah State and they would send out free item with *no* purchase. Incredible! Talk about “First one’s free”. It was enough to get me hooked. Now I roll up there once a week like “y’all got any more of them free flashlights with purchase??!” They have great tools at great prices. I’ve been amazed at their higher end tools that compare with insanely expensive name brands for a 1/5 of the price. I would say 99% of DIYers out there overspend on tools simply because they think cheaper tools must be trash, and in some cases they may be right, the vast majority of stuff HF carries, the quality is on par, and the price is more than right. Everyone relies on me to carry a 20% and free item with purchase coupons on me at all times in case one of us needs to go to HF.TLDR: if my child wouldn’t harbor hard feelings for naming him Harbor Freight, I would’ve done it. (See what I did there?) Great tools at better prices. As the old saying goes, “Shut up and take my money!”

Im a fan of harbor freight. Cheap tools, but overall high quality, especially for the money. I think its madness that someone would pay $30 for one lifetime warranty wrench when you can come to harbor freight and get a whole set for the same amount of money. Thos location is convenient and the store is laid out well. Its well organized, especially for a harbor freight. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We love harbor freight but had the most rudest experience of my life, the manager Felicia would not refund our money when the product was not working and we tried to return it literally the next day with the receipt in hand, she was rude and we have no clue how this lady even made supervisor when she has the crappiest customer service ever, thank you, you definitely lost our business of buying anything from that harbor freight as long as your supervisor!!! You can gift card exchange when we payed cash

Very busy, not encouraging social distancing. Couldnt find anyone to answer a question. In that case I guess they were social distancing. I ended up going to Home Depot where I know I got a better quality tool.

Called to ask for an item if it was in stock but a female working there put me on hold and never got back with me after 12 minutes waiting. Terrible customer service thought they would do better since the nearest store layton area can never keep things in stock.

Always have what I need

Harbor freight may not have the most incredible quality of tools, but for the most part their stuff is fairly good especially considering the low price tag. I own a lot of their hand tools, and they are all great. I also own their bar clamps. They are great, but the long ones get a little flimsy (you can rip down a strip of wood to put inside the Chanel and then they work amazingly) their belt sander and spindle Sanders are also great for the price. I use them regularly and they work great for me.For context, I am a hobbyist. I work on woodworking projects for my home and occasionally Indo work for others. I am not a pro, but I do more than the average Joe.

This is not for the Store. This is for the Online service. I bought a Welder and they ship part of the order, sent an email about the welder were out of stock I took almost a month to refund my money around 400 dollars and when I call them for this issue, the customer service attitude where like I dont give a Shi#$@ about your order and money.

First off, harbor freight is amazing!! The warranty on the hand tools with their prices is unbeatable. This location has the perfect size, they carry more than the standard harbor frieghts than Im used to. Definitely got to bring in their coupons for even better of a sale.

Cheap means cheap. Some of their sales are incredible. Staff is helpful but their main aim is sales.

I was having a rough day and embarrassingly started crying at check out. The cashier offered me a tissue and a discount, and said we all have those days. I can’t say how grateful I am for her tolerance and kindness!

This store is good for standard tools and a variety of them. Not top of the line tools but interesting useful tools. Today I bought their 2000w. Quiet generator. I will try to review it later on. I really wanted the next larger one because its quieter and runs longer but they say they only get one per shipment and people are lined up to get it. Alright wish me luck

Good single use tools. Although their low profile Jacks are amazing. Im going on 5 years of heavy use on mine and it still works great. I also have the 225pc mobile tool set and Ive done countless larger scale projects using mostly those tools.

I was there tonight and it was fantastic! I liked harbor freight. I work with tools for a living, and contrary to what you may hear, a spanner is a spanner, whether you pay $5 or $25 (welding gear is a different story, but I digress).Anyway, customer service isnt usually a strong suit here, but today was different. I asked the girl where the Dremel tools were, and she didnt know, but she was kind, polite, and helpful anyway. Not only that, but she was absolutely gorgeous! I may have fallen in love a little bit. In any event, I got what I needed, got out, and it was quick and easy. Thank you HF!

The deals at Harbor Freight are always great. Make sure you check your coupons before going in. The Ogden location is a little cramped and I feel like I can never find the items I am looking for quickly here. Also, I wish they were more organized with their checkout lines.
