Kind of dumpy, definitely not an upscale venue. Parking consists of a muddy field/gravel lot. I prepaid for what was listed on the event calendar but when I arrived, the band had been changed last minute. We decided not to stay, no refunds given which I do understand, but they refused to give me a good faith credit for next time. The manager couldn’t be bothered to tell me, she had her staff do it instead. Save your money and time for something better, KC. KC Wineworks at the Crossroads has a lovely tasting room with wonderful, personalized service.
Attended the Vinyl Revival Concert June 18, 2021. The band was awesome and the pavilion was the perfect place to enjoy them. The winery staff is second to none; so courteous and helpful. We are disabled and a gentleman staff member went out of his way to get us parked closed to the venue so we could walk on flat surfaces. He also brought our ID bands to us after verifying who we were. I highly recommend Stone Pillar Winery and will be sure to attend future events.
Great low key winery. Tastings available. Great selection, staff was attentive and very down to earth. Found this winery on Google after leaving KC Wine Co after being treated rudely by staff. Nice break from your typically stuffy wineries in the area. The staff reminds me of my favorite winery in Paso Robles! Theres a nice outdoor area with a patio and fireplace as well as indoor seating as well. Wine slushes were great! Hard Ciders were great and wine selection was varied and would sit most anyones taste in my opinion.
This was my first time going to stone Pilar and I actually love this place. It is relaxing and overall just a neat little Vinyard.
Awesome place, great drinks. All the vendors were cool. I would highly recommend
Very good winery with a few unique tasting wines.....Excellent festival event today
Clint always leads an incredible yoga class, then the wine slushies are amazing. My favorite is peach mango.
It was a pleasant experience even for those who are allergic to sulfates in the wine. Other drink options are available along with tasty food from their Food Truck. Loved the set up, especially the two very friendly dogs and tables in the field of vines.
Wish we had more time.Would love to see if they had an open area to sit and taste wines or pick grapes
I went with a couple friends for the Easter event, it was super fun. I ended up leaving my wallet there and didnt realize, I thought it was in my car somewhere. My wallet had $500 cash in it for rent. Two days later someone had found my wallet and turned it in. George Hoff took time to find me on Facebook and stayed long enough for me to come get it after work with all of my cash still inside! There are still good people in the world ❤
Beautiful setting and atmosphere with stellar offerings. Ill definitely be back. 👍👍
Had a great time. Employees were kind. And the wine was great 👍
What a joy seeing a winery in the middle of Olathe! Great place and very friendly owners and staff. Thank you
Very clean place, nice people. Tasty wine slushes. Well be going back.
I did have a great time with friends last night, but when I went to pay for my wine and tasting, they told me their tastings were $20! I was so frustrated since we were only allowed to taste 4 wines. We also purchased 2 bottles of wine. I don’t mind paying $5 or even $10 for a tasting, but $20 for only 4 wine sampling’s is outrageous. Again, this is a great place, but please consider discounting the tastings if someone purchases a bottle of wine afterwards.
Great place for relaxing entertainment. Good food trucks brought on site for the Stolen Winnebagos night.
Beautiful place, people are friendly, have some great products, enjoy where you can have your own picnic table to sip and talk within the vines.
I threw my best friends bridal shower here in 2016. The location was convenient, and the wines were great. Just like the Barefoot moscato I buy. Now, I see the owners put a gigantic Mike Brown sign up. Yeah, the one who called citizens to arm up and that he could hear the drums of war. Classy. Doesnt sound like a relaxing time to me. So I wont be back.
It’s a lovely place and I’ve been wanting to try it for some time. My sister and I decided to take my daughter as a little goodbye before she moves to Chicago. I packed up a picnic basket of cheeses to have with our wine. My daughter has been there and brought food with her Father only the week before. So we assumed it was fine. We walk up to the little stand to order a wine. The first thing the young lady asks me is if she can check my basket. She checked the basket and told me we weren’t allowed to bring in outside food. I completely understand supporting the local food trucks etc. However, we had no idea. And to be fair, maybe it’s written on the website and I missed it. It wasn’t the fact that I couldn’t bring my food in, it’s how the young lady handled it. She could have asked me if food was in the basket. Not checked the basket. It being the first time I’ve ever been there really left a bad impression. She was very unfriendly and not apologetic. Personally, I would of explained and apologized for the misunderstanding. Instead she made us feel like criminals sneaking in food. Which obviously we had no idea considering it was a large picnic basket.I do support our local restaurant’s and understand the intent. It could of been handled so much better. I was very disappointed in the service and unfriendly behavior. There are ways to handle situations like this and still be nice. I considered putting food in car and going with food truck. The young lady completely turned me off of that idea. However, the young man was polite. Maybe I’ll try again. I’m just not sure.
They have a large and diverse selection of wines, ciders, and flavored slush drinks...all in a very beautiful setting. We enjoyed a quiet walk through the vineyards...and received information about the live music on Fridays. This is a great place to stop and share a bottle of wine!
I absolutely love this place! If you havent been, you need too.
We love going to Stone Pillar...it is a little bit of peace in the middle of the city. They always have a great selection of wine and a great array of activities on any given night. Definitely worth supporting this local business!
Good wines, great music, killer wine slushis. Nice to chill at on a nice night. No smoking anywhere on property, NO WHERE, bit ridiculous to implement after years of having a designated area..
My boyfriend and I got there today, Friday, around 1pm. It took about 5 to 10 minutes for someone to come out and help us. She also didnt seem very eager to be helping us. They arent doing full wine tasting yet so that was a bummer. We sat outside with our wine slushies, which were good, but there was no music or anything which I think would have made it more enjoyable. While the kids are cute, they kept coming up to us to play and we were there to be on a date so it was a bit of a nuance. Maybe going later in the evening would have been better, but either way I was a bit disappointed in the overall experience.
Beautiful venue, perfect for a girls birthday party
My husband and I have made numerous trips to this winery and really enjoyed ourselves. We have never brought food, but noticed last year, pre-covid, this was allowed. I personally do not take food because my husband and I tend to go after dinner so I am stuffed. :) My daughter and I went to Bingo night and had an absolute blast! Thank you to the family who owns Stone Pillar to not selling out for this land to be turned into housing or retail developments. It is so nice and refreshing to see a family provide a business that supports its local community! LOVE IT!
Wine slushies are hit and miss. Some have a very bad aftertaste, so go with the cherry. Prices are pretty high for what you get. Also wasn’t impressed with the cider. The setting is nice, with room to relax and listen to music.
What a pleasant surprise! just on the edge of Johnson County! live music and shopping local vendors! and the wine was excellent! definitely recommend it!
Beautiful country setting with urban flare. Great events and often have live music. Wine selections are good, most are sourced from other areas as the vineyards at this location are not that large.
Nice atmosphere and slushies. We enjoy the event they put on.
So much fun! Wine slushies were so good and Retroactive band was Awesome!! Need to have them back again!!!
Did yoga at 11am. Great start to the day!
Excellent every time!
Great frozen drinks. Had a nice event today with delicious food trucks.
Was not a fan of the blush wine we got but the slashes are pretty tasty and the venue is relaxing. The bbq food truck had bland bbq meat and sides...plus the prices were through the roof.[basic-bland-whitest bbq you can imagine]But its super chill and the atmosphere is worth it.
None of the employees had a mask on. The wine was subpar at best and the service was not great. Will not be returning. I do not respect a business that does not respect the health of their customers.
Perfect place to go if you want to stand around watching other people sample wine. My wife and I were just there. We stood at the sample counter for 5 minutes before we were even a acknowledged as being there. Then we were handed 2 pieces of paper and a pen. We obviously had to read the paper and circle what we wanted because the girl gave no instruction. So after selecting what we wanted to sample we just stood there another 5 minutes. Meanwhile a guy and a girl were standing behind the cash register doing nothing. A girl even came and filled the couples glasses next to us 2 times. She was the one that originally noticed we were being ignored and yelled at the guy and girl behind the register but after that nada. Well I walked over grabbed my coat and we walked out with nary a word from any employee. We are headed to another winery in Gardner called KC Wine Company. We have never walked into a winery and been ignored. Even when busy the staff at a good winery will acknowledge and greet you. Attentiveness sells wine. We saw other couples walking around aimlessly as well, confused what to do. I love supporting local business but not ones with poor customer service.
We were surprised to see a winery so close to our hotel, very surprised at what we saw. Staff is very friendly and the building is very nice. The wines were ok to good with two very good wines. First was the Prairie Fire, it was surprisingly complex with dark fruit and a pleasant caramel finish. Next was the port, Prairie Fire Blaze. Now I usually dislike ports, way too sweet. This one is truly amazing. Fruity and light but a very smooth finish. Very impressive.
Excellent place to relax and unwind with some great wine.
Awesome staff and beautiful scenery! Ty!
Its nice to listen to a band and have drinks outside.
Lovely people working here. A wine for every palate. Plus different ciders if wine isnt your thing.
Wonderful winery, Thursday farmers market and sip n shop are great events!
I really enjoy their wine, and I like that it is local wine. They have a fantastic variety of wines, but theyre all delicious. I recently purchased several bottles at a very reasonable prices. I will be returning, they are located in the neighborhood 😍.
Perfect evening of wine street tacos and music
Beautiful open spaces with great wine and calming atmosphere.
Wednesday is free bingo, its a blast! Of course the wine is a delight and the staff are very friendly. Dont complain that theres nothing to do in Kansas till you explore this gem :)
Updating my original review. We visited recently and really liked the wines. We enjoyed the Cayuga, Nakota and Winter white wines. The Nakota red and Merlot were very good too. Also liked the Rose. The blackberry was very, very fruity and not sickeningly sweet like so many others are. All-in-all, good wines. The tasting room and event space are Morton buildings but it was nice to sit and see the vineyard out the windows while we listened to some good, live music. Not only will we be back, but Ill consider their wines when at the store. Our first visit the winery was closed, though the website said it was open.
I dont drink coffee or wine constantly or beer just passing by some of those places
Went there this weekend, it was nice outside but hot/stuffy inside and our tasting took forever since they were busy. Also, one bathroom so everyone was lining up for it! They should have an outdoor alcohol option so people can enjoy the patio and not have to wait in the sauna that is their building.
The staff is very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. The wine is really good and a bit pricey at times. They have events, special offers monthly, and very dangerous, but tasty, wine slushies.
Their wine was awful. Trader Joes two buck chuck is better. Gimmick Johnson County tourist place....which fits in perfectly.
Nice evening, great band and slushies!!
Decent drinks but no outside seating.
My wife and i love all the local wineries (from Paola to Liberty) EXCEPT Stone Pillar. They only offer select wines in the tasting (you must pay $10 / glass to try any of the others); $25 typical bottle price; you must leave your driver license with them to take your tasting glass outside; but above all this... they have the rudest staff weve ever witnessed at a winery (weve been from Napa to Hermann). Save your money and try ANY of the other local wineries.
Wine flights start at $5 each. A wide assortment of award winning wines to choose from both dry & sweet wines. Tons of fun events and a variety of Wine Slushies to cool off with!
Fun atmosphere, odd pricing model for tastings. Most wines are very sweet, the peach wine slushy is unique and tasty. Had a blast with the outdoor band.
Xtreme Bingo night! Great fun. Bring your snacks, buy some wine, guess what song is playing and find it on your card. They seem to play different genes of music each time.
Beautiful setting. Helpful staff. Very Reasonable price for tastings.
Nice selection of wines and reasonably priced plus its within walking distance. The have tastings so you can try a few different varieties before buying a bottle or two. Well for us a Case or Two ( of course its mixed varieties of red white port and such)Stop in and take a tasting and grab a few bottles to go. Remember to bring a designated driver if you sip onsite
I was under the impression there was a deal on wine slushies every Thursday, but they were full price. I love them so much, but theyre just expensive enough to keep me from going all the time. Anyway, get a slushie and mix two flavors together. Great all summer long.
Great winery across the street from our home. Super convenient with great wine and excellent service. Love this place.
The wine was superb. I really liked the Blaze Port.
Always fun, great music!
Had a great time listening to a great band Boomers and sipping on their great wine slushies. The pizza truck had great brick oven pizza too!:)
Nice vineyard with a tasting room. Staff was really friendly.
Delicious wine slushies. Can also do standard wine tasting. Gift shop available too.
Grape stomp was so much fun today! Slushies were fabulous too!
Awesome wine slushy
After party with Leighs dance school! Great venue. Nice place. Lots of slushy options that you can taste test. Amazing wine slushies!!! Will go back! Not alot of seating set up yet there was well over 100 ppl.
Pavilion seating $10. Patio $8. Lawn $5. Tonite they had a phenomenal band, Land Rush. So much fun with family and friends. Were going back. Agrotourism in Olathe, KS. Yeah!
Great atmosphere, good wine, love the cider in the fall!
Nice wine collection and fun activities.
Great place with live music - wine is excellent - time for an easy fun day -
Really great place to visit to sample wine people friendly and price are very reasonable
I dont like that they charge for tastings, but I love the atmosphere. They should put in garage doors on their pavilion so ppl sitting on the lawn can here the band
Amazing staff and a very nice place to go on a cool day.
A delight! Loved it!
Service has always been questionable, especially on the weekends. The servers today were downright disrespectful to us.
A winery here in olathe? Yes it is true! You can get wine slushes here.
I LUV, LUV, LUV, this place! The wine slushies are da BOMB!!
The guy playing guitar was fantastic.
Fun 4th. Super bomb pop slushie.
Excellent condition and peach slushy wine very good
Great place to enjoy some wine and relax
Love the ambience!
Ciders were wonderful!!
Good music and slushies.
Great wine, friendly staff!
Great selections and time with family!!!
