Ridiculously small store, customer service is horrible. They don’t make it a welcoming place, at least not the staff we have encountered since we moved here a few months ago. We love the Central Co-op in Tacoma and the co-op where we lived in another state. But this one, yuk. Only gave it 2 stars because it has some stuff we can’t get elsewhere in town. But we still shop the Tacoma co-op whenever we are up there because this one is a very unpleasant experience.

I so desperately want to support local but the local distributors make it difficult. Saturday, I bought 4 nectarines, they rotted before they could ripen. I bought 6 lemons, couldnt fill more than 7 slots in my ice cube tray, normally 6 lemons overfill that tray. The bone-in rib eye steaks that we paid premium for - $21 per pound! - were not good. One didnt even have a bone, so we paid extra for something we didnt get. They were so horribly run through with fat, not like normal. A significant amount of each steak was literally inedible, could not be chewed. I havent had a chance to get into the other produce yet but I can say that I wont be going back. On top of everything, its $$$ expensive, more expensive than others that Ive been to - with less quality.

Supporting food co-ops is the way to go! Big grocery like any other big business is terribly corrupt and robs farmers of every last penny that they can. If you like farmers, shop from them directly, a farmers market or Co-op. I like the people that work here, great organic choices, great bulk food section, no self-check lines to rob employees of jobs... PS, only jerks use self-check, if you value your job, dont devalue another persons job by using those ✌

2 locations and which are not identical. The garden store at the Rogers location is one of our favorite places to go for gardening supplies. They carry mostly organic produce, some grass fed meats, lots of alternative milks, raw dairy, etc. I have belonged since I moved up here and they even have a payment plan available to stretch out the very reasonable lifetime membership fee if you want to use that. They will order in items they dont currently carry if they can and they are open to input on what other items to carry.I wish they were larger size stores as I personally would LOVE to buy more items in bulk to save on plastic containers. I try anyway to buy from local farms and the farmers market when I can but the CO-OP is great for the things I cant find that way or during the off season.

This CoOp has an appealing selection of items from groceries -frozen, fresh, boxed & canned- produce -Rambutans! Fabulous Radishes! Purple Potatoes! Household, personal care, cosmetics, baked goods, bulk items, etc. People providing cashier, stocking, Covid19 related safety measures have been helpful in my experience. Clean and pleasant interior, decent parking. Not really a negative strike considering the quality of produce and other items, more a reflection of my needs: 4 not 5⭐ because of prices.

My first time at the Olympia co-op and it was not great. We were told that they sell CBD cream here and so my mother and I went to see and we could not find it ourselves and wandered around and not asked if we needed assistance when obviously we did. We came up to a gentleman who spoke spanish and he tried to help us and found something similar to what we were looking for which was good, and then the cashier next to him tried to see if we liked a different pain relief cream but we had tried the stuff and told her no thank you. As we continued through the store we were stopped by someone named Kim who told us the CBD cream would be useless. She continued to tell us about CBD capsules that were only about $8, best deal you could ask for and then asked where the pain was. When my mother explained it was for my fathers back pain and her shoulder pain she stopped us and said the cream would not work. Use the CBD capsules she said oh and back pain CAN be from work but also from weight, 10 lbs in the front is 30lbs on the back. Eat less carbs, no wheat or flour of any kind, no sugar. You will lose 60lbs in 2 weeks if you do that and take the pills I swear to God! She continued to talk to us about our weight. It was down right RUDE! My mother and I are at a decent weight, perhaps this woman should look in the mirror before criticizing 😡..we told her we would think about it and she finally left after pestering us for 10 minutes. My mom and I dont even eat sugar! We almost just left the store then but we did not want to be rude and shopped for produce which was fine. But as we went to pay KIM CAME BACK. She called from her counter to the woman we were checking out with and told her that cream wont help them, take the capsules, I tried telling them! But I looked at her and told her my mother has medical conditions and she cannot take unprescribed pills because there could be side effects. Kim appeared annoyed at this and let us know by saying Oh well then she shouldnt take CBD cream either because it gets in the skin and can affect her anyway and comes out positive on a drug test! Her coworker said but it was topical but Kim argued that it would still get in the system. What I have been told is that CBD creams do not show up?? Only THC...and if it is that dangerous then why have it available unprescribed??? The cashier told us Kim was just a VOLUNTEER though and to not listen, thankfully. I wish I had said something to customer service but I didnt know where to as it was our first time in. Im not sure if we will be back, but that volunteer ruined our first experience and Im only giving 2 stars for the 2 workers who actually tried to help instead of calling my mother and I overweight when we are not. Very disappointed and upset.

From the Jersey cows, what they eat, how the milk is handled and time to market. Again, love this place.

There is a lot of healthy food options that you cant find at normal grocery stores. However the place is so small for how much stuff they have and how busy they are. I went once and left without anything because I felt very claustrophobic and Im not usually a claustrophobic type person. I also had my kids with me and we literally had to huddle in a corner until we had a moment to escape. I wont come back with or without my kids unless they sprinkle miracle grow on their building and it magically gets bigger.
