We were extremely happy and satisfied with the total remodel on both our kitchen and master bath. Both rooms were taken down to the studs and a weight-bearing wall was removed from the kitchen (with no hitches).Rachel and Emily were vey helpful in assisting us in the design process. JT and Greg were professional, organized, tidy and kept us informed of their progress or any issues they had encountered.Would highly recommend.
First time remodel I was nervous after hearing so many horror stories - so glad we chose KBD! Our new kitchen is fantastic (LOVE IT!) and the process was just so smooth. Our lead contractor Jon was a perfectionist, triple checking every detail until it was perfect. The entire team (from tiling to electrical to countertop) were just such amazing professionals - could not be happier. Looking forward to our master bath remodel now - no other company will do. Thanks KBD, you rock! (attached before and after photos)
KBD has now remodeled our Kitchen, Guest Bath and Master Bath and will be the first we contact for any future home projects. We have felt valued from the beginning to the end of each project. Everyone that has worked on our home has been extremely professional. If you are looking for the best in Omaha, Kitchen’s by Design is your one stop shop.
What can I say, Scott made some pretty lofty promises to us in the beginning and he and his team delivered on every one. The project went seamlessly with no hiccups or surprises. Special shout out to Rachael and Emily our design team that completely transformed our kitchen from a dark dreary space to one that is bright and beautiful and Tony our carpenter that was there day after day to make it all happen. Cant wait to use them on our next project.
We had a great experience when Kitchens by Design remodeled our kitchen. It was a complete remove and rebuild, including rearranging items within the kitchen. The process was well organized and the entire staff was experienced and professional. They answered our many questions thoroughly and patiently, and helped us develop a design that was what we had hoped for.The team at Kitchens by Design earned our trust and respect, and we recommend them to anyone wanting to remodel their kitchen.
A full kitchen remodel, including removing a wall, altering windows, and complete change in layout went astonishingly well. Kitchens By Design did a superb job! They laid out the schedule day by day in a 3-ring binder they left at the job site, and virtually everything happened on the day it was planned. The only delay in the project was waiting a week for a lighting fixture which was backordered (not KBDs fault, of course). The lead carpenter, JT, was punctual, cleaned the site thoroughly each day, and did an outstanding job on the woodwork. The whole team worked with us very well, kept us informed, and were very professional. Honestly, we are kind of pinching ourselves to see if this beautiful kitchen, delivered to us on time, is real or a dream...seems like something right out of a home makeover TV show!
This group truly does make Scott look good! Turning our 40 year (or older) kitchen into a beautiful space! I love to cook and now I love the space WHERE i cook! Looking forward to remodeling the upstairs bathroom with this group. Cant believe how beautiful my kitchen came out! Shout out To Rachel, Emily and Jerry!
The team at Kitchens by Design took our tired aqua colored galley kitchen and made it look like it came straight out of a magazine! Rachael was the perfect designer giving us great ideas and choices, but made us feel like we were the designers. Of course we know it was all her; she should get the humility award :) Emily was quick to make changes as needed on the cabinet design until it was exactly what we wanted. And Matt ~ what can we say about Matt! He was a true professional; talented, patient, and a terrific communicator throughout this process. He bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Thanks Kitchens by Design!
Kitchens By Design is the whole package! We used them for a complete kitchen remodel and then again for a bathroom remodel. There is an absolute reason we are repeat customers.Kitchens By Designs really stands out when compared to other home renovation companies/contractors.When I would come home during the demo and renovation of our projects, I was always astonished at how clean the work site was; they intentionally separate the workspace as much as possible from the rest of the house. At the start of our complete kitchen remodel, I was given a schedule of the project which they completely followed, finishing on time. ( anyone with renovation experience might agree that completing a job on time almost never happens!!)Their work is excellent and everyone we worked with on both projects was so professional and attentive. This company really knows what it’s doing and delivers every time!!
We have had a very positive experience with Kitchens by Design. Everyone we worked with was very professional and pleasant. We love our new kitchen and appreciate the help we received in every step of the process. Our decorator, Rachael, gave us wonderful guidance in the many decisions that we had to make. We are so pleased with how it all came together. The tile work and granite are beautiful. The electrical work is very well done.J.T. was the carpenter and installer and did a wonderful job and really cared about every detail. He was very persistent and cared as much as we did that everything be done right and look good. It meant a lot to have such skilled people work on our home.
Our new kitchen is absolutely beautiful. All of the team members we worked with at Kitchens by Design were true professionals, and the work they did was awesome. Jerry Potter - the lead carpenter - is a perfectionist who makes sure that everything is done right. All of our selections were made with the help of Rachael, and we couldnt be happier with how everything came together.Ray & Elaine Myers
We recently underwent a major kitchen remodeling project. From start to completion, we appreciated Nebraska Home Improvement/Kitchens by Design staff and their attention to detail. Scott, the owner, and Rachael, the designer, listened to us and helped us create a space that meets our needs and enhances our home. The project started and ended on time, and at our contracted budget. The results are beautiful and functional, and just what we wanted. We have recommended Nebraska Home Improvement/Kitchens by Design to friends and family, and will continue to do so.
Scott invested a lot of time in our home and through drawings before wed even made a decision. The design staff (Rachael and Emily) got to know my style and home before presenting their recommendations. The quality of craftsmanship, attention to detail and cleanliness and respect for my home by Jerry (carpenter) were all greatly appreciated.
Our goals for our kitchen remodel were to update and to use the space more efficiently. Kitchens By Design was our choice for the renovation because Scot Byrd and company expertly offered everything we needed to create the space we wanted. The whole process, from consulting, designing, selecting, demolishing, and constructing, to the finished product was accomplished with precision, thanks to our crew of talented craftsmen and women. Kitchens By Design put the fun into our brand new functional kitchen.
I had a great experience with KBD, Thank You so much for making my kitchen so beautiful, the island is one of a kind, stands out from all the usual islands, everyone who sees it loves it. I even had a couple people take pictures of it. Its exactly what I wanted, Matt is a craftsman and was a great person to work with. Your the best and I will use you for all my future projects.
We had KBD remodel our kitchen back in 2015 and we could have been happier with the results and time frame in which they got it done. They really made the whole process really easy on us. Most recently we contacted KBD owner Scott to get help with tearing our kitchen back apart to save what we could after we lost virtually everything in the recent floods. Scott & the KBD team were ready to help immediately. Within a week they sent a crew to carefully remove our granite counter tops & dismantle our cabinetry all for pretty much nothing. They also pledged to help us put the kitchen back together when we are ready. Scott said he would go to bat for us on any replacement cabinetry that may be needed from the cabinet company. They even still have our plans & all documentation to make this a breeze. They are also doing this for 3 other customers that were devastated by the flooding that I know of. If you want a company with integrity, heart, craftsmanship, & that will be there for you years down the road, look no further. Thank you KBD!
Great company. Staff goes out of their way to help the customer.
Very unprofessional, I wish there was a zero stars. Dont ask them to bid a project more that 30 miles from their office. Glenwood Iowa is 32 miles from their door and the owner Scott sent us a letter thanking us for the opportunity to bid the project. He wrote the letter on January 18th, he was to visit our home on February 7th. Then on the day he was to show up he called me and said he charges $300.00 dollars to show up any ware outside of Omaha. Scott you should have mentioned that in your letter sent weeks before or maybe when your office called so schedule the appointment. Very unprofessional.
We got several bids on our kitchen. We went with KBD because we liked the people, their bid was the most comprehensive (the best we got from anyone else was an itemized list - KBD actually drew up some schematics and did some computer modeling, if I recall correctly), and it was mid-range-priced.The design process was great. We would go in, they would outline whatever options we were picking for the day in an easy-to-understand way, and wed choose what we wanted - with some suggestions and tips from their designers. Generally after we chose some things theyd update our computer images, and it made it great to visualize. Now that the kitchen is finally done, everything looks great! Just as we imagined it, and almost identical to the computer images they had generated. There are a few little rough edges, but overall its a million times better than it used to be.However, I only give them 2 stars because of what a chore the process was. First of all, I believe they quoted us 7-8 weeks, when in reality it took FIFTEEN WEEKS. Can you imagine being without your kitchen (which, by the way, we have to cross through to go almost anywhere in our house) for over 3 months?! It was torture. Doubling the estimated time ALONE should be worth a 2-star review, but theres more. The electrician they used (Christian was his name) is among the least reliable people Ive ever interacted with. When his part came in the beginning, he was supposed to work Thursday and Friday and be done with his initial rough-in. He calls me on Friday and asks if he can work through the weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. How can he be two days behind on what was supposed to be a two-day job? Then when he was supposed to come at the end to finish up his stuff, we were told hed be there Thursday and Friday again, and be done. We have security cameras on our house, and I saw him pull in Thursday at about 2PM, and leave at about 3:30. Then on Friday he didnt show up at all. Keep in mind that by this point were several weeks over the estimated completion date - so wouldnt you think our build would be a priority? Then when he was supposedly done, the chandelier was about two feet off where it was supposed to be, and the oven vent hood didnt work at all, so he had to come back.Aside from the empty days and insanely long build time, the biggest issue was cleanliness. Im almost certain that in our contract it said they would clean before they left every day (this didnt happen a single time - I was stuck vaccuuming the entire house almost every day if I didnt want splinters and sawdust everywhere), and it says to expect white glove cleaning at the end. That white glove cleaning left dust on almost every surface in the kitchen, and in every surrounding room. Were still Swiffering dust away. Now I need to reiterate that, as far as the build goes, were pleased with the final result, and everyone we interacted with (except Christian the electrician) was a joy to work with. If you have no time frame, KBD is a great choice. But I can tell you going out to eat gets old after about the first week, so expect to hate it by week 15.Another small gripe is the only calendar/documentation we got was a physical binder. This would be MUCH better done electronically, and each day could be updated as they knew what would happen (plumber this day, cabinets this day, etc). And, of course, our binders calendar didnt go past 12/31 - but of course our build went to the end of January, so we had zero clue what would be happening in the last few weeks. Also (sorry for the stream-of-consciousness review here - just thought of this), for some reason they had no plans to do any painting. It was just assumed that we would be hiring our own painters? I have no idea if thats standard practice or not, but it was a surprise to us, and then suddenly we had to find our own painters. They did give us a contact name, but when we reached out to whoever it was, we never heard back. Maybe it was Christians brother. Hah.
To the staff at KBD,I LOVE my new kitchen! A special thank you to the design staff, Lori & Rachel, I could never have imagined you could transform my cramped space into a beautiful and functional kitchen that I now enjoy! And you did this all within by budget! Jerry the installer was wonderful and has a great attention to detail. I can highly recommend KBD, for quality cabinetry, professional designers, skilled installation! Thanks so much!Steve Widman
My wife and I couldnt have made a better choice for our kitchen renovation. After interviewing several contractors and getting several bids, it was evident that Kitchen By Designs Casey Hansen came prepared to show us what KBD would for us to complete the kitchen renovation to our expectations (the kitchen was out-of-date built 13 years ago when we were on a budget). We made her job a little easier because we knew what we wanted, including the granite countertops for the kitchen and wet bar, new sinks and faucets for both, new backsplash for both, and the new downdraft gas cooktop (converting from electric downdraft cooktop). We left the cabinets and contemporary door pulls as is because they were custom built cabinets, not factory built cabinets. Everyone involved in the project is to be commended for their attention to detail and professionalism (and they cleaned up after themselves). The kitchen is so much brighter and inviting. Casey coordinated everything from beginning to end, simply a timely and fabulous job!
The entire team at KbD did fantastic work on our complete kitchen remodeling project. In just a few weeks, our kitchen went from a tired 80s look to an modern dream space. The design staff helped us focus on what could be and then KbDs team of craftsmen made it come true in our home. We couldnt be happier with the results !! Everyone who sees it says, Wow! Thanks, again to Scott and the entire KbD staff.
Would give zero stars if I could, they are not interested in your business unless you want to spend over $20k.
