I tinkered with the amount of beans to adjust the strength to my taste. I like a strong cup of coffee with nothing added. The beans were a bit smaller than other brands I have tried, so I increased the amount of bean per cup. The formula made all the difference I was looking for. The coffee is deliciously smooth with no bitter after taste.

Absolutely amazing quality, both company and products. I stopped in today and sampled some of their seasonal Winter Surf blend. It was very good but I ended up picking up two Ethiopian varieties that I was very excited to try. I tried them both as soon as I got home and they did not disappoint, they are awesome. The roastery is very clean and has a really appealing labor of love type feel as the people there were eager to talk and share their process. I could tell they loved what they do and were super knowledgeable. If you like coffee and/or enjoy supporting local small businesses take a a trip by on Saturdays between 9am-1pm (their current public hours) and you will NOT be disappointed!

Wonderful hand roasted coffee

Everyone in the shop is is very friendly and the coffee is always great. The owner takes a scientific approach to roasting each unique bean and each roast turns out perfectly. If youre lucky, when you go there they might have their cold brew on the nitro tap. Its delicious!

Because this is a small batch roaster they are only open on Saturdays. They do have a nice selection of beans and do print the roast date on each bag. All the beans are sold as whole bean; however, they will grind them for you if you wish.

Friendly and Personable. Im never disappointed with the products they offer. Truly local, these are the best coffee beans youll find around. I promise you wont be disappointed; you have to try this stuff! A true master roaster, focused on quality and taste. Im in coffee heaven.

I have been heavily involved with 3rd wave coffee for almost a decade now, and have had the privilege of trying hundreds of different coffees from award winning coffee roasters around the world. I can honestly say steel oak is some of the best coffee I have had. I ended up canceling some of my coffee subscriptions to a few roasters around the country and get my beans at Steel Oak instead. I would put them up against pretty much any roaster around the country, even against many of the champion roasters Ive had the pleasure of trying. Here is the thing though, at around 12ish dollars a bag I feel like I am stealing. Im used to paying way more for coffee that isnt as good as Steel Oaks. They also have a fantastic selection and are always bringing in new and exciting beans. Whether you know nothing about coffee, or are extremely particular about the beans you buy, steel oak is for you. The owners are absolutely lovely people and it is always a joy to get to talk to them about their passion for coffee. Cant recommend them enough.

I love this place and its definitely worth checking out to try different coffee that they are sampling. This is a roaster with limited hours to the public, but if you cant get in when theyre open and sampling out their coffee check out Gold Leaf on Granada as they carry Steel Oak.
