By far the worse experience I’ve had at a car shop. I brought my car in for brakes and a few other things and they tried charging me $1700. I told them I would take it to anther shop. When I picked my car up it was in worse condition then when I gave it to them. 2 minutes on the road my tire literally popped off and I almost got in a car accident. They didn’t put my tire back on right. They didn’t apologize. They asked me if I had full coverage on my car that’s it. PLEASE BE CAREFUL GOING TO THIS SHOP. BE FAR THE WORSE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!
We have used Sallas Auto for several years now. We had been happy with the service until this past month. Our sons car would shudder when applying the brakes. The issue was discussed and we were told the front tires had tread separation. I was doubtful but we installed two new front tires. The car continued to shudder with brake application. I then inspected the car myself to find the back brake caliper had a broken bolt and the interior back break pads were very worn. I replaced the worn and broken parts myself and the issue is resolved. Perhaps they have new help. Just be aware that you may want a second opinion if you are unsatisfied with the recommendation.

I took my mums car here for an alternator replacement. I had already diagnosed myself but due to the difficulty, I decided a shop should do it. Thought my brake pads needed replaced.Turned out that they didn’t. They ran a diagnostic and told me I was good for about a year before I needed new pads.Charged me for a diagnosis only. Saved me over $300. Fantastic service.

I started with Sallas years ago. My previous shop had lost my trust. I know a little about the mechanics of a vehicle but not a lot. The first visit they hit a home run. I attended the annual Sallas workshop and learned even more about their integrity. I cant imagine taking my car to anyone else. Had an oil change yesterday which includes a pretty thorough inspection. One issue will need attention but according to them can wait. Just got a call that the issue will cost much less than previously quoted. Thank you Sallas!

A few months ago I took my car to a dealership to have a wheel bearing replaced and paid $800 and while driving on I-70 I encountered what sounded like another wheel bearing going out so after some online research I decided to take my car to Sallas. They quoted me much less to replace the bearing and said they could get the part within 10 minutes if I wanted to bring my car the next day. I was given a ride to and from my house and they only had my car a few hours. They did an extensive check and thankfully didn’t find an issue. I appreciated their honesty and the fact they didn’t want to take hundreds of dollars from me because the stigma of car repair shops is notorious for being weasels. As a female I feel like I have finally found a shop I can trust and already recommended them to my other female friends
Could not get my vehicle started. My vehicle was towed to Sallas Auto Repair in Overland Park, to late on Friday night to do anything, closed on Saturday & Sunday but open on President’s Day. They did a full diagnostic test & called me with results ... the battery was not the problem & is still in good working order! The belt to the air conditioning/heating system had caused the problem plus another belt needed to be changed too! My tires were in need of rotation & that service was preformed too!Once service was completed, Ross called to let me know a gentleman would be coming to pick me up to drive me to pick up my vehicle! Due to the snow & cold weather I was so happy with this extra service!If & went I ever need service to my vehicle, I will gladly return to Sallas Auto Repair Shop!Thank you for your wonderful service!God bless you for all you do to help the rest of us get back on the road safely! 5 STARS.. I’m new to Sallas overwhelmed with anxiety about my brakes & transmission issues. Ross was very professional & calming. I was able to get an appointment for the next day, they sent me a link with pics of my overall inspection & kept me updated as to what was going on, I was in & out the same day. They took me home & when my car was ready they came to pick me up. They treated melike family!
John at Sallas was excellent to work with. My Range Rover had blown the radiator hose and I quickly realized I was not going to be able to replace it. I also had a warning for the vehicle charging system. Sallas was able to diagnose the alternator, remove and replace it and install a new radiator hose for me in a couple of days. Great to work with, reasonable pricing and quick service. Highly recommend Sallas!
I have 2002 Nissan Altima and I had starting trouble, my neighbor gave me phone number sallas and she recommend me to go there, because they are very hones and exactly tell you what is wrong with your car and I did call sallas left the message and very friendly and cooperative man Roush called me back and made an appointment excellent customer service..I was going to Midas,tire plus,mine ke,and christian brothers once I went to sallas the best experience I had they exceed my expectations..I thought my car might have alternator,starter,or gas pump but not censor problem and they changed the part only my car needed 300 dollars with labor very affordable and reasonable now on I am going to only one shop called sallas located at 87th street and I will send more customers,friends and family to sallas auto shop thank you sallas and Roush for my car running back to street..

Do not use them. They are an A1 rip-off. Quoted 1400.00 to fix my daughters car and took it to New Concepts done the street, did it for 700.00. Yeah you gotta love them for trying to rip me off. Oh and charged 136.00 just for looking at it. Only thing I know is that if your a women they think they can pull that but guess what A women scorned
After wasting my time trying to go to Chevrolet dealership, who acted like they could care less whether my car would get fixed or not I actually called Sallas because I have used them for years for all my other vehicles and I asked if they could help me out with my current vehicle. As usual they did and helped me get my issue with my car resolved and provided me great customer service. I really appreciated it, I had just started a new job so I really needed someone to understand my situation and provide solutions which they did. Through the years they have always helped me out when I needed it and it is so appreciated.
They got my car in quick, and had it done on time! They didn’t try to force me into anything and very good quality repairs and pricing. Will use them again!

Had a major transmission issue, basically ruined. Obviously not their fault. But it really didnt help when they rudely said Well you let the transmission get way too hot, it overheated and just broke. You let it get too hot? Show me any car with a transmission temperature gauge. Because Ive been around a while and Ive never seen one. They even said the fluid level was fine (I try to keep up with that stuff).They also told my wife I had agreed to the service fee ($150 to hook it up and tell us it was ruined) when that was absolutely wrong. Fees were never discussed. Again I know its not free; but the lie was unnecessary. No information other than its broke, itd be $4300+ to repair at least. Seems okay at low speeds, but I need to find out further information on its limits since they were little help.
Really, truly the best experience Ive had at a car repair shop. After calling multiple other local car repair shops who charged $60-$70 to just look at our car, Sallas did not charge anything and only charged us for the repair. Moreover, they offered to drive us home after we dropped our car off. The icing on the cake, however, was their ability to tell me exactly, down to the cent, how much the repair was going to cost. The staff was friendly, down to earth, and gave me my first experience of not being talking down to at a car shop. I didnt try their waiting room coffee, but I wouldnt be surprised if it tasted amazing.
I came to them because a friend said that they are trustworthy and do good quality work. I was not disappointed. They let me know that what needed repaired according to the dealership was not really necessary yet. With that, they did what was necessary. So for almost half the price of what I would have spent at the dealership I got more maintenance done plus they noticed a bolt was missing from my brakes! They fixed that plus something else that would have cost me a lot of money at the dealership. So glad I brought it to sallas! They were also very patient with all the questions I was asking about what they were going to do and why it was necessary or not. I always have a lot of questions:) I will be using their services for sure!
I love Sallas. Have been coming here on and off since probably 2012. They have worked on my renegade for almost every repair (minor to major) since I have owned the vehicle. Always top notch honest service.
I was very impressed with the level of service I received. Friday didnt go as planned, rather than put our repair off till Monday the managers themselves stayed late to complete the job. Very impressed.
We were in a bind and from out of town. A different dealer down the street wanted almost double the price we paid at Sallas for brakes and rotors. Nice to know someone is still more interested in not trying to just make a buck.
Sallas was great when they came and put air in my tire and plugged it. But when they did an inspection on my car they said I needed a tire rotation. I agreed for it and they moved the tires with less tread to the front of my car instead of the tires with more tread. didnt understand why this happened since I specifically told them I was headed to Colorado. Went to another auto shop and they fixed it for me.If you have a flat definitely use this company but otherwise I would suggest a second check.

Towed my truck to Sallas, in O.P. The fuel pump quit with no symptoms, other than level sensor worked sporadically. They had it fixed and me on the road again within 24 hours. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars was that I thought the price was a little steep.

Folks... this is one of the best auto repair shops I’ve ever used! Despite being quite busy, they got my car in the next day because it wasn’t starting reliably. I had taken the car to two other shops several times where I was charged for inspections without learning what was wrong. Dallas quickly found the problem and finished the repair early the next morning. I was treated so well. It is quite clear that this shop is dedicated to integrity. I won’t ever take my car any place ever again. What a pleasure to do business here!!!!

Salas performed thorough and documented overall vehicle inspection and identified and fixed brake issue. Price was reasonable and work was performed promptly. I will use Salas in the future.

Had breaks, engine air filter, and battery replaced, oil changed, and tires rotated. Great customer service, and I really appreciated the online diagnostic summary they provided -- it identified areas that needed urgent service, recommended service, or no service required. Link to the diagnostic was texted to me, very easy to access and use, and detailed notes were helpful for understanding status and recommendations. Work came with 2 year warranty, and everyone I worked with was knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. Its only been a day since service so I cant speak to the long-term work quality, but its comforting to know if anything goes wrong related to the service performed in the 24 months itll be covered by Sallas.

Ive been struggling with my car trying to figure out whats going on and I work on my own cars. Ive replaced everything that I can think of according to my cars repair book diagnostics etc code reader etc done alot of research. Eventually strapped me down $$ cause it was a never ending repair cycle with my car. I reached out to my pastor and asked her if she knows any mechanics that could assist me in a discount so I dont have to pay out an arm and a leg, little did I realize that when I asked for help they really helped. Ross answered when I called and he had my car for 3 or 4 days and he and his toyota mechanic took the time and every test possible to figure out why my car kept turning its engine light back on, every question they had they always communicated to me and asked me what exactly was done, what brands were used and how long ago. They came to conclusion that o2 downstream was to cheap of a part and maf wasnt reading right. He replaced them both and he told me what was done as far as pricing goes. I was shocked and amazed by the amount of help I have already recieved but even more by these guys by actually fixing my car that Firestone could not figure out and did not fix. Im grateful for these guys at Dallas auto repair. They know what they are doing and very honest with everything and communicates greatly. Thank you guys for your services. I appreciate you. They do the work required, advise on what is coming up next, and get the work done on time and for a fair price. More rigorous and detail oriented than the dealers, at the same or less cost.Also - very important to me - they maintain the Subaru fleet for a local company and have as much Subaru knowledge as either of the dealers. They know the parts, the tricks and foibles of the Subaru motor and drive train. Only place I will take my Subaru other than the dealer.
I found this business on Google maps. It had high ratings so I tried it. I went on line to make an appointment at 9 AM on a Wednesday for an oil change, tire rotation, standard inspection, and investigating increased engine noise. On the website it asked whether I wanted a loaner car, I clicked yes. I arrived shortly before 9 AM. First, I was informed that I had to have my own full coverage insurance in order to borrow a car from them. I only have liability. I am disappointed that the website did not mention this requirement. That was a minor upset as I came prepared to wait a while. Then I was told they didnt know when they would be able to start working on my car, even though I had a 9 AM appointment. I decided to take a chance and wait a while. To their credit, they did bump me to the front of the line. I appreciate that. I waited about an hour and a half -- a reasonable length of time for oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. They texted the inspection report with recommended repairs to my phone - nice. I asked for an estimate for the repairs, the gentleman helping me said he would have to call me later about that. That was on Wednesday at 10:37 AM according to the receipt. On Thursday, at 10 AM, I had not received any follow up from them, so I called. I asked about receiving an estimate for the list of repairs they recommended almost 24 hours prior, the man responded in a dismissive manner that estimates take time, ok now, bye-bye. As I write this it is past 3 PM on Thursday and I have received no follow up. An estimate for repairs you recommended requires more than 24 hours to create? No, it does not. That is poor customer service. Perhaps you are struggling because of the COVID-19, perhaps you are understaffed. I sincerely recommend you shop for computer software which directly links recommended repairs and cost of repairs. It has been disappointing experience. I am looking elsewhere for auto service and repair.

Bought brand new unopened spark plugs from the dealership. Called Sal to get an estimate on how much he would charge to replace my old ones.To which he abruptly replied, I dont install customer supplied parts. ... Hah okay. I much rather trust a reputable dealership thats known nationwide over your private owned parts any day. Glad I didnt spend my money with that type of business

Sallas Auto Repair is just about the only auto repair shop that I trust in the entire state of Kansas. Every time I visit them, they continue to impress me. The last time I was there in the waiting room, the team was going on a Slurpee run. They brought me back one! Now thats service! When I commented on their top-notch customer service, they replied, Well we just treat people how we want to be treated. This simple philosophy is rarely followed in the auto repair industry, but you can expect it at Sallas.
Took my BMW twice for service,First time I got a bad attitude from from desk guy. The other guy just said sorry sir ! They recommended $900 worth of service that was scheduled. I agreed and came back, called to make sure all parts/supplies were in stock.When to pick up car and they informed me, trans service was not performed!, they found out that its sealed so it cant be performed. If so your experts did not know this? Then front wheel alignment, major reason that I took it in for was not performed eaither... They forgot to do it, sorry again, they were very busy and missed it! What was not missed was the two non performed services made it to my Bill.Sorry and they took it off.You need to do better coaching and raise the bar or you will not be relative much more. I know have to go to the dealer and or find another independent shop. Good guys but old school need to step it up. Wish you well.

I just moved up here which means I can’t use my dad’s tools and workshop anymore so I was looking for a new shop with experience in hybrids. Found Sallas through a google search and read their reviews. Being a young female I’m of course concerned with getting played by a mechanic who thinks I don’t know anything about cars (I know some things....) and tries to hand me a souped up bill. Im getting a regular maintenance check up plus some other work, and when the guys at Sallas finished I was sent a full inspection record, complete with pictures, via text. Which I thought was super awesome. But what’s even better is that Ross took the time to explain everything with me and discuss the results of the inspection and my concerns. My dad is an Audi guy, so I’m looking for a similar friendship with a hybrid mechanic whose willing to answer my questions without resentment. I like to understand my car and not just hand it off to a shop to fix. I’ve had experiences in the past with mechanics who seemed to be irritated by a young female asking questions. I really didn’t feel that way talking to either John or Ross (will update if that changes).I was also upfront about being on a budget. One of the codes could turn out to be a bad scenario, which Ross was honest about (but there’s still the possibility/hope it could be a false positive). He broke down their maintenance suggestions into stuff that really needed to be done now and stuff that could wait pending further diagnosis of the code. He was also upfront about costs. I can’t really attest to post-fix but they certainly make fantastic first impressions. Prices seemed fair, if not a 10/10 would recommend.
I was very disappointed. I had a weird noise coming from my car so I paid the $65 fee for them to tell me what was going on. When I came back to pick my car up the noise was still there and they couldn’t pinpoint and tell me what was going on with my car. So now I have to pay Chevy dealership the same fee to tell me was wrong with my car when, I could’ve just gotten everything fixed there. I feel I shouldn’t have to pay the fee if you didn’t tell me what’s wrong with my car.

It has been difficult for me to find parts for my model-year Mitsubishi Galant - I appreciate that Ross took the time to find a more-reasonable price for what I needed. These guys do quality work, and they worked with me to fit my busy schedule. The Digital Inspection is also very convenient.

Just got my car back from Sallas. I have a hybrid and didnt want to take it to the dealer for an AC service. So I was glad to find Sallas, which has the right equipment to do the job. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I dropped my car off in the morning, they gave me a lift to work and when my car wasnt done the same day like expected. They picked me up from work, took me back to the shop and provided me a free rental. I got a call the next morning telling me it was ready in terms of the AC but went over some other things they found while inspecting it, which is nice. I didnt get everything done but I did get a wheel bearing fixed as well. I bought this car used from there SF Toyota dealership three years ago and its never been quieter. Ill be back and I would recommend.

The Sallas team really helped me out with the differential on my pickup. I was getting a lot of different opinions from a different repair shop, and they did not have the tools to even attempt to repair my differential. After getting several recommendations to give Sallas a try I called. I was given a fair repair quote over the phone before the truck was even in the shop! I warned that other shops could not handle a differential rebuild and to quote the Sallas team Your differential doesnt scare me one bitThe entire team was friendly and helpful. Differential had to be completely rebuilt, and Sallas also corrected improper fluids from another service. My entire truck is running great! Thank you!

I know that I have written a review for Sallas before, but they never cease to amaze me at the level of service they provide. With three kids under 5, my car gets pretty messy on the inside. Today Sallas picked up my vehicle while I was working to have my oil changed (which in and of itself is a huge blessing for me because its so difficult to find the time in my busy schedule to take it in for even an oil change). Today when they returned my vehicle, the owner Nick felt so bad for my car and how dirty it was, that he cleaned out the inside of my vehicle. When I offered to pay him for this extra level of care, he refused. If anyone is wondering what happened to old-fashioned, down-home good customer service, I can tell you where to find it - Sallas Auto Repair! I brought in my 2004 BMW 645ci. The computer system indicated that the back pads needed replacing. Also, i needed an oil change. Their customer service was very good and they even called me back to tell me that the pads and rotors were fine. There was no need to do the brake work and they reset the computer for the brake pad indicator. At the same time they found a tiny oil leak that i had not been able to find myself. They fixed it for a minor cost. Very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend Sallas to other BMW owners.
Never, Never will I take anything to this place !!! Very Rude and Overpriced !!!....... The person that I talked to at the counter was snappy and impatient !! And then I asked if he would come outside and listen to the grinding, maybe tell me what it could be ? He acted like I was pulling him off the golf course in the middle of the best game of his life !!! I thought maybe he was having a bad day so I left my car there to have them look at it and give me a price. When he finally called me back later and told me it was the water pump he recommended that I change the belt also which I agreed.... but the price he gave was 4x the amount that I paid for the belt the year before!! So I wondered if I was being overcharged for anything else. I picked up my car to get a second opinion and Im glad I did !!! I saved more than half of what my bill would have been and without the attitude !!
Sallas Auto Repair always takes care of me. I own a 2001 Honda Accord that wasnt taken care of well for years, and theyve got it back in great shape, and every time theres a problem they take care of me. Highly recommend these guys.
After having my stolen vehicle recovered, Sallas Auto Repair was the one I chose to have fix the steering column and clean it after the criminals trashed it and left the windows down after a lot of rain. I can not explain how much their professional and courteous services meant to me after this ordeal. They gave my car back to me looking better than it ever has. They are extremely nice people, they understood and took into account my broke-college student budget, and they even picked me up from work after my vehicle was done. Coupla damsels in distress far from home an hour from closing time and these guys helped us quick and did a great job! The guy answering the phone at the front desk was kind of snarky and rude but the owner and workers were really nice!
Auto repair, tires, breaks, super star auto center. Sallas auto repair is amazing. I was referred to them because I had 3 days before heading out of town, one of my tires was not going to make the trip and I needed brakes bad. On top of it, the tire size on my car is not common and had to be special ordered... John Blauw and staff bent over backwards even after I gave them the wrong tire size to get me up and running in time for my Friday 12PM leave time. I used to work on cars and know the industry very well. Im going to take all my repairs here. They saved me money, time, and gave me incredible peace of mind.

Sallas is awesone. Great location and customer service. Courtesy ride saved me from missing work. They even picked me up at the end of the day, after they were closed (they went out of their way - not something they do regularly). Maintain frequent communication while car is in shop. They also dont pressure you to spend ridiculous money on unneccessary repairs like other places. Highly recommended.
I brought my car in for an oil change and discovered an oil leak right after. It was a faulty valve, not the fault of Sallas but they went above and beyond by offering to come clean two driveway spots from the oil leak without a hint of hesitation. This to me is quality customer service. Because of this, I plan to keep bringing my car here for oil changes and routine maintenance.
