I found KC Eye Clinic after having a bad experience with another Eye Clinic. Dr. Stephen Nichols, explained all of my eye issues and helped me correct them the right way. After having Cataract surgery before I moved to Kansas, I was told I needed to have laser surgery to help my eyesight more. After having to wear either glasses or contacts for 30 years, it’s nice to only have to wear one contact for distance. KC is the best, and I always recommend them to anyone who asks where to go for eye care.

I saw Dr Dawn Bircher for my regular exam. I had my prescription filled for new eyeglasses and something didn’t seem right. I went back to see Dr Bircher and after rechecking my eyes thoroughly discovered an ever so slight adjustment for astigmatism. Dr Bircher worked hard to try to find the problem. My new eyeglasses are perfect.

I saw Dr Dawn and loved her so I would rate her a 5 star but don’t make appointments at the Indian Creek Parkway office. Unless you don’t mind waiting and you don’t care that it’s run poorly and dysfunctional staff. They need to shut down that office or start over on training!! Just my opinion but hoping main office is run more efficiently!

I am now in the post-operative stage of cataract surgery performed by Dr. OConnell on both my eyes two weeks apart. My vision is improved more than I expected.

My first time at this Eye clinic. Was very prompt, nice, caring. Everyone that I came in contact with was very polite. The Doctors assistant did not speak or acknowledge her shelf. You cant have everything. Loved my new Dr. Seems young. Dont foresee him retiring any time soon.

I have been coming to KC Eye Clinic for close to 20 years. I have seen Dr Bodker, and now Dr Nichols. I am extremely happy with the care I receive. Many years ago my dog scratched my eye while I was sleeping, they had me come in on a Saturday and Sunday with the office closed to treat my eye with antibiotics and a bandaid-contact that heals the tear which had to be changed daily for a week. This shows me they care about the patients. They probably could have shown me how to change the contact but they had me come in so it was done right. I recommended them to my mother in law and she is also happy here. I highly recommend them.

OMG! Couldnt even MAKE the appointment! The receptionist was so rude, so rude, SO RUDE over the phone that I just decided to change clinic. I do understand we all have bad days, but this type of attitude reflects poorly on the practice and makes me think that if the doctors in the office are ok with such attitude with potential patients, then it isnt the right place for me.

Ive seen Dr. Donnelly many times over the past 25 years. Hes always been kind and answered every question. I hate to see him retire, but hes earned it. In fact, Ive asked my wife to see him before he retires at years end.

I truly believe they are interested in me and my health. Additionally, the cost for using their services is less than what a couple of optometrists in Olathe charged for simple exams and refraction. What happened 20 years ago made me a firm believer Kansas City Eye Clinic offers the best eye care. Dr. Stephen Nichols diagnosed my dry eyes at the first visit after I went to a previous eye Dr. three times not able to prescribe the correct eye glasses for me to see. After all, it was not the prescription problem, it was my dry eyes caused by wearing contacts for too long. I quickly recovered from the problem following simple remedies. Ever since, my spouse, children and friends also receive care here. I am forever grateful for the feeling of relief after a long battle of frustration. My children do not have to go through the difficulties because both Dr. Nichols are highly medically trained and personal to take care of my family.

Great service here. I had an issue with my eyes getting dry and itchy, and thought it was an allergy thing, but after a few days called the KCEC, and they were able to get me in that afternoon. They checked my eyes, let me know what the issue was (blepharitis) and set me on a course of treatment. Excellent follow up appointment a month later, and very Covid conscious.

Perhaps covid threw them a curve, but I can not give a glowing review. Surgery went well but aftercare was very poor. I was not told what to expect and when I voiced my concerns about eye pain, the nurse brushed me off. The optical shop is overwhelmed and slow. Team members don’t communicate with each other. I showed up for appointments that no one claimed to know about. The wait time for new lenses was 3 weeks, leaving me wandering around with poor vision all that time. I don’t recommend them

What we like most though is the personalized care - everyone there from the ladies at the front desk to the Doctors provide such a caring and personal touch to everything they do. I have been a patient of Dr. Sara OConnellfor years. Not only has she removed cataracts from both of my eyes, but also she is personable and sensitive to my needs as a deaf person. The office is well-coordinated, and staff are knowledgeable and respectful. I am always impressed with their efficiency and quick turnaround without ever feeling rushed or ignored.

I had the worst experience with Mallory. I contacted this office because I have been a patient of Dr. Ecks for 13 years and have taken my children to him as well. With my new employer and zero experience using a self-funded health plan, I asked Mallory if they would accept my employer’s coverage. She then asked me who it was through, I explained again that it is self funded through my employer. Instead of asking another associate, she just told me that she assumes they don’t because she didn’t know what I was talking about. Dr. Eck is an excellent doctor and I have never had to deal with members of his staff being completely dismissive and unhelpful before.
