I had a great experience with getting my Eye exam. Although they were understaffed at the time, I didnt have to wait long. Also, since they had the option for me to do my medical history/ demographics/ insurance info paperwork online before the appointment I was able to get right in and get the exam done. The staff were knowledgeable and made me feel at ease with the odd equipment, and explained things in an easy to understand manner. Overall I had a wonderful visit! Also its a office right beside LensCrafters so I was able to look at all the great options for frames right away, without the distraction of it being right there when youre about to get an exam. It was a pleasant experience.

This was my 1st visit to their office. Office staff were very nice, the office was clean, & looked professional.Dr. was great at explaining my options & the ladies who checked me in & out were great. (Rosaria and Hannah). I would recommend them & will continue to use them going forward.

Everyone at this office was helpful, patient, and kind. I brought my mother with dementia in, and they made everything as easy as possible. We got the information we needed as well as recommendations for further treatment. They were great!

When you first walk into this office, its bright and friendly. The staff works really hard to get you in and out in a timely fashion and BONUS - they use advanced equipment so you dont have to get your eyes dilated! Management is so professional and Dr. Anderson is super friendly and very laid back. You will not be disappointed!

I visited this optometrist in March and I have truly nothing but good things to say about Dr. Andersen. I encountered some difficulties with the front desk when I went and when I provided my feedback about these after the fact, I didnt expect much to come of it. I am pleasantly surprised to be able to say that not only were the issues addressed promptly, but that Dr. Andersen also reached out personally to apologize and ensure my feedback would be used to help his team grow and become better. That is all I think anyone can hope or ask for.I appreciate the commitment of this office to truly be the best they can be and take care of each person that walks into their office to the best of their ability.If you have had a negative experience with this office in the past, I recommend giving it another chance as the management change has truly made it a new business altogether.Thank you!

This place is great! Front desk staff was incredibly pleasant and professional and I was able to get pictures taken of my eyes instead of having to get my eyes dilated. The doctors are kind and very well informed on the latest methods of Eyecare. I will be returning here for all future eye exams.

Dr. Kennedy and the rest of the staff were great. Didnt get stuck waiting around forever like some places either, Ill definitely come here in the future.

The optometrist is excellent and informative, and doesn’t attempt to prescribe eye correction unnecessarily. He also gives astute advice on types of contacts, etc. Their equipment is state of the art, and this has been a great experience for both of my daughters.

It was horrible customer service. The front desk lady did not follow up with documents, making sure everything was read. Other businesses, like many others, touch base with the customer to make sure they understood the required documents. This is how this place gets you out of more money!

I have been wearing eye glasses for over 30 years and have had eye checkups every two years. In all these years, this is the first time I had an Excellent Eye Exam, as provided at Professional Eyecare South in Overland Park, Kansas. I went to get a new Script for my eye glasses; I was surprised by the eye health exam. The electronic tools are State of the Art and the health of my eyes checked with great professional care by Dr. Chris Pena and his able assistant Ms. Ann. They informed each step of the exam with details. I learnt a whole lot about my eyes. Thank You guys. I wish they would give you the option for retinal imaging. I have insurance through Eyemed and the copay is supposed to be 15, yet I was charged 45 for retinal imaging that was a footnote in the paperwork. They need to be more upfront about the costs.

The best place to get your eye exams! They were very intelligent about the technology used and were able to get me in and out in 30 minutes. Never getting an eye exam anywhere else, thanks Professional Eyecare South!

You should be more clear with pricing. I went in for an eye exam and ended up paying $80 when my copay Is $10. Contact fitting was 40 so max should have been 50 but they decided to take pictures of my eyes when I declined it on the form so this was down illegally and against my knowledge. That was an additional $30 for something once again I did not agree too. I will not return.

Very professional and EXTREAMLY friendly staff. Doctor Andersen is very thorough and cares. It was my first time taking my son in for glasses and nobody has had to have glasses in our family. Doctor took his time, he went above and beyond, to explain everything and answer any questions I had. Not for one second did i feel rushed with his time or like just another patient. Started on time, professional and very thorough eye exam. Extremely satisfied with the doctor, staff and process.

Lack of prominent signage made it difficult to find. Had to call for directions. While there heard staff providing directions so seems like a common problem. Asked to pre-fill out forms via email, but could not find attachment on email. Staff not ready at time of appointment. Seemed expensive considering had vision insurance.

I have gone to Dr Andersen to get my eye exam and purchase my contacts for several years. This was my first time visiting his new office on 119th St. The exam was thorough and I was in and out in less than 30 min. The entire staff was extremely friendly from scheduling my exam to ordering my contacts.

Wow...what a great place to get in eye exam! Outstanding customer service across the board, great safety protocols and a friendly staff. I was astonished at how unclean the office and equipment was when I visited. The walls were marred and the cove base looked like it had been painted over the weekend by kindergarteners.I could not believe the equipment was not wiped down between patients. I was able to observe this while sitting across from the testing room. No wipe down, nondisinfecting, nothing.For a simple exam it took over an hour after i was brought back from the lobby.I was shocked the optometrist said he had received a letter from the certifying board ststing the board had been notified theboptometrist had not performed a thorough exam.Truly a scary experience and one that did not leave me feeling my ocular health had been adequately evaluated. Patient beware

Dr. Pena is excellent, he thoroughly explained dry eyes, age-related issues & that I have a complex vision correction. I had gone to Ridgeview Eye Care for years. I was diagnosed with dry eyes in 2014, no one ever explained to me it was important to keep your eyes lubricated, they told me I should use eye drops when I felt it was necessary. October 2019 was my last exam with Ridgeview, they overcharged me $300.00, I caught it, one of the reasons I searched for a new vision doctor.

I always love how quick I can get in and out of my appointment (felt the same in the past when I just did a walk-in), and they always seem to still take the time to make sure I am well taken care. Also liked how they are taking all precautionary measures during this time...

The receptionist did not inform my husband he was paying extra for photo services. She was also very rude via telephone. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau.

Dr Johnson was very kind and explained things well. They gave me a few different kind of contacts to try out because it has been a while since Ive worn any, and I am very thankful. Just tried hetfirst pair today and the RX is the best Ive had for contacts ever.

Be prepared to shell out big bucks. Went in for a retinal scan and Dr Johnson said he would charge me 100.00. I paid the bill and just received another bill for 182.00. They submitted to my insurance 2 claims with same claim number 2 different amounts. We wary and get up front cost. New patient charge is 150.00.

Were always treated like family.Due to a very busy schedule, I agreed reluctantly to see Dr.Jill Dorsey, instead of Dr. Wes Johnson, who Ive been seeing for many many years.Well, I was pleasantly surprised.She was kind, professional, but most importantly, extremely thorough.Plus, she and the staff were wonderful with our adult autistic son.Im always amazed that the staff remembers details about our lives from our last visit and want to know how things are going.I have 100% confidence in their services, and I truly believe they care about me and my family.

I accidentally scheduled with the wrong eye doctor in a totally different location, thinking it was supposed to be this place. They said they could get me in right away. The only reason I didnt stay is because my insurance was out of network. The lady at the front desk was very nice and understanding! I would have stayed if it wasnt for my insurance.

Great experience, lost my glasses in California, they got me in for a same day exam. The Dr. was very thorough and helpful, as I have Type 1 Diabetes. Furthermore, got me set up with contacts, a couple weeks later-very patient and helpful staff. Will be using for my eye care needs while I live in Overland Park.

I just received a bill saying I owed a balance. I presented my insurance. My co-pay was $ 10.00, you charged by $ 63.00. Then send me a bill for $ 220.89. So I call in to discuss and your condescending receptionist state that because I have type 2 diabetes, it was a medical examination. It was not a medical exam, it was an eye exam. I gave you my eye insurance card. If you do not know the difference at the time of service, or if something has to be billed one way or a different way, it is your responsibility to correctly inform a customer. Instead you just collect money and bill for more. What really made me upset, is this is the 2nd exam at your facility, using the exact same insurance providers. I did not get a bill the first time, because you filed it correctly. Now because of your incompetence, I have to call the insurance company, then call you and tell you how to do your job. You should remove professional from your name, and replace it something else. DO YOUR JOB!!!!!Update--- I have written a letter of dispute to this company and received no response until today. A letter from a collection agency. This is not a professional eye care company.

Great group of people! Everyone is friendly and very helpful! Came in to make the switch to contacts and they got me all set, my initial pair irritated my eyes so I dropped in and they fixed me up with some new ones. I couldnt be happier with the service, and I definitely recommend Dr. Johnson!

They changed my contact lense script brand, not sure why, but it was horrible and difficult to place on my eye. They also got the script for my eyeglasses wrong causing me to request a doctors remake from Warby Parker on my lenses after experiencing eye pain due to the wrong script. I ended up just eating the loss and going to a different provider instead of returning to them again to make things right since they couldnt after two attempts.

I saw Katie Farris for a routine eye exam and felt it was the most thorough Ive ever had. She explained every test and showed me photos of my eyes, which Id never seen before. She also explained in detail about the change in my prescription which was very helpful.

I received excellent care and service. The doctors and staff are very courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend this group for your eye care needs.

My normal eye exam turned into medical exam without my consent. Received an invoice not covered by the vision insurance due to the nature of the exam. Had to file a complaint with the state attorney general to get this resolved. Their integrity is in question.

I was very disappointed. 3 appts and 1 of us left with zero contacts to try for a week AND they were a new daily Rx that had never been tried before, oh and were supposed to let them know if they work out. 1 of us left with one pair of contacts to try and 1 of us left with the week supply we were supposed to. Contact lens Rxs were finalized that day even though 2 of us had not tried the contacts for longer than the 20 minutes we were in there. Fees for the appointment, after insurance were never discussed, until after the appointment when they asked for $250! We do get a free exam every year, so that was just for contact lens portion of the exams. We will not be going back there again.
