Very professional . Dr Mark Walton is the best .Before my sinus surgery 3 years ago I was required to get an EKG. KC cardiovascular consultants said my EKG was normal . Head & Neck MDs said it did not look normal and sent me to a cardiologist . They caught cardiac issues . Dr Mark is thorough, friendly, and does have a sense of humor . A sense of humor goes a long way with me especially when someone is sticking tubes in your nose and down your throat. I recommend him . He will take care of you without a doubt
Dr. Ellis is my doctor of choice here. He is compassionate and very knowledgeable and will answer any and all you questions with supporting information. His bedside manner is exceptional and you can tell he cares for his patients.
Oh my!! Dr. Williams and the staff here are superb. I was really pleased with the professional experience and care.
Friendly team. Very helpful during a difficult time.
In 2014 I was referred to Dr. Walton to get a diagnosis for vertigo issues. They did a workup, told me I had low frequency hearing loss, and referred me to a neurologist. Since then I have developed tinnitus issues as well. Fast forward to a couple months ago, I began also having pressure/fullness issues in both ears and decided to make another visit. Dr. Walton took another look, advised he thought I might have Menieres Disease, prescribed me a diuretic and generic valium (more on that later) and referred me to have some other tests, which confirmed the Menieres diagnosis. While Im thankful to have the diagnosis, my issue is that he expressed little to no empathy regarding my symptoms or how to fix them. After I emailed a list of questions to his nurse, she gave me very general and not at all helpful answers from Dr. Walton, and said if I had any other questions I could make an appointment with him. So, I paid for a follow up visit and Dr. Walton appeared visibly ANNOYED that I was returning with more unanswered questions about my symptoms after getting this diagnosis. These were his recommendations: Tinnitus - I was prescribed a diuretic, as a 100lb female in my 20s, this is not a viable long term option. Shortly after I began taking these, I developed a serious kidney infection that almost put me in the hospital. My primary doctor recommended I stop taking them immediately. Vertigo - I was referred to a therapy institute that I had already seen before (over 6 years ago) and had not helped my condition at that time, so why does he think it would help now? He also prescribed a generic valium, with directions on the bottle that were completely different than what we discussed during my last visit. Sensitivity to loud environments/overall loss of hearing - Dr. Waltons treatment for this issue? Dont go to places that adversely affect your hearing. Which is pretty much everywhere. My primary doctor has referred me to a different/specialized ENT in the area and I wont be visiting this office again!
My boys have their ear tubes and tonsils removed by Dr Mitchell Challis from this clinic. The staff is friendly and took good care of my boys’ health and welfare. They worked with my insurance, scheduling the procedure date, and operation smoothly. The location is easy access from 435th Highway and plentiful parking spot.
DR William was great I felt very comfortable with him. I was very surprised. I would like to thank DR William for being so kind.
I work in healthcare and with so many demands these days, I know that providers arent often able to spend much time with their patients listening and addressing issues/concerns and helping with health needs. However, my experience today with Mark Walton, MD, FACS AND Susan D. Newton, MA, CCC-A, FAAA, exceeded all expectations. There care and attention was outstanding.Frankly, life has been a bit frightening over the last few years due to loud ear ringing / tinnitus (due to a lifetime of loud music with unprotected ears -- Ive been a drummer for over 4 decades now). The patience, knowledge, valuable assessment, solution tailored to me and my lifestyle in music meant so much to me this morning. I would give my experience an 11 out of 10 and have already referred someone today to your office.Thank you for your great care and effort to improve the quality of life of those you serve. THANK YOU for all you did for me and all you continue to do for others with similar (frightening) hearing/tinnitus situations.Lastly worth noting -- Dr. Walton has performed 2 nose surgeries on one of my sons, and was a great experience for us as well. Grateful that I have my hearing, I have a great plan to keep my tinnitus from worsening and thankful for the exemplary medical care given by Dr. Walton, Susan Newton and crew. 😊
Simple straight forward information with very little time wasted.
ENT specialists here misdiagnosed my wifes pertussis infection as pink eye. This was not a dual infection, just a simple misdiagnosis. The practice is unwilling to consider the patient complaint. I would not recommend.
Wonderful care, warm and caring staff. Excellent, clean facilities. We had a great experience here.
As with most doctors offices, the front end staff is...unpleasant to deal with. The doctor and nurse that I saw were top notch, awesome. If trust them with my, or my familys, care anytime, anywhere!
Wonderful staff.
Dr. Thompson AND his nurse Natalie are the absolute best! I am so thankful I didnt go anywhere else. He is very educated and and performed my Thyroidectomy flawlessly. One month post opp and you can hardly see my scaring. Was a tough surgery on me, he however was a gem and made sure things went as smoothly as possible. Thank you to both of them from my family and myself! I would refer anyone to him!!
I truly had the best experience here. Dr. Robert Thompson took care of my chronic sinusitis with a surgery. Before the surgery he sat down and truly explained to me what was going to happen. After surgery he sat down with my parents and answered all their questions and kept them informed. Both before and after the surgery the office was good at answering any and all questions that I had. I never felt like I was a burden but they were truly there to help me and make my health better. I would strongly recommend Dr. Robert Thompson and this office to anyone and everyone.Thank you Head & Neck Surgery for everything that you do!
All the stars for Dr. Carson Williams. Ive never had a specialist listen intently to me like he did. Genuinely such a kind, caring man. I adore him!! As well as nurse Natalie. Gosh, I love them both!!!ZERO STARS for the ladies at the front desk. They were short with me when I came in but whatever, I assumed I caught them at a busy moment. Later, however, when I was about to leave, both of them snapped at an older gentleman who didnt know how to use the ipads (which they use to check in) and they were both SO rude to him. I mean yelling at him, WE SENT YOU A LINK and THIS IS WHY WE TOLD YOU TO GET HERE SO EARLY and so eventually the shorter one rolled her eyes and stood up and said well I guess I have to go help him on this.I work in customer service, and I can guarantee that if I EVER even had a quarter of the nasty attitude with my clients that they had, I would be put back into training the first time, but then fired after that. I would recommend that if HNS wants to stay open and in business, they do the same.**I gave it 5 stars because the doctor himself was amazing. Unfortunately, who they choose to represent at their practice at the front door provides the worst customer service Ive ever seen.
Very good drs
I have had 4 sinus surgeries by Dr Mark Walton and Dr Steven Ellis I trust these doctors and have nothing negative to say and would recommend them to anyone that may be suffering from severe sinus issues his nurse is wonderful however there is room for improvement with the supporting staff but not a reason to see someone else at the end of the day you just to feel better and from working with these doctors over the last 16 years I would recommend anyone visit them even if it’s for a second opinion.
Dr Challis was very knowledgeable and patient and caring. He listened to all of my concerns. The office staff was friendly and helpful.
Dr. Steve Ellis is a wonderful Dr!!! He even came in on his off day to treat my husband. The lady at the front desk however is extremely rude!!! Theres no reason to be as hateful as she was. We were the first people in there.
At first, I was very frustrated with this office, but some of that was due to a chronic issue. However, after seeing Dr. Thompson a few times and a successful sinus surgery, I couldnt be happier. Dr. Thompson took the time to understand what was happening with my ears and sinuses and found a way to resolve everything. I am incredibly grateful for his care!
Ive had two appointments with their audiologist Kristy Kurtz. In those two appointments, she has spent over 80% of her time on the phone with tech support for some software that she uses. At various times she blamed her slow computer, my phone, the batteries, the batteries that she replaced them with (neither was the problem), and a cable that she was missing. She never did a single thing with my hearing aids. The hearing aids still dont work. I wasted $4,000 and got nothing.
This review only stands for the lady at the front desk, not the doctor. I was needing to see a doctor for my nose, so I called first.. the lady answered and kept saying “which doctor” and I explained “I don’t know I’ve never been to your facility I just need some direction on who to see.” She laughed at me because I guess I wasn’t more prepared on what I needed. I eventually gave up and went in. And darn my luck I got the same short haired older lady! Basically had the same conversation but she wouldn’t even look me in the face! So I guess before you call know exactly what you need because you won’t get any help!
Dr Ellis has performed 3 surgeries on me, all rather rare, and has saved my life! He’s the best Dr I’ve ever had in my 70+ years.Ive NOT had any issues with the front desk.
Front desk staff were very rude. They chatted for 5 minutes with co worker before acknowledging me and my child that needed to be seen. After being seen, my child was ordered lab work. After 6 weeks no one called to provide results. I spent 2 weeks calling and ALWAYS was sent to a mailbox.............This was a HORRIBLE experience...I hate that my pediatrician referred them!!!!!
My son and I where refered here by our primary care doctor. We saw Dr Challis. Throughout the entire visit we where treated like we where ignorant he recommend a procedure that may or may not be covered by insurance. We will definatley not be returing as we prefer doctors that treat patients with respect. I was told he had more openings than the other doctors this could be why.
I had the worst experience there ever. I saw the same dr twice who refused to listen to me and talked to me like a child. I had a severely rupturedi ear drum and all he did was look at my ear both visits. Never gave me a hearing test never cleaned out my ear even though I repeatedly asked him too bc something was blocking my ear canal, and I had no hearing in that ear. He prescribed the wrong medicine as well. Went to a GREAT ent today who did a hearing test and cleaned out my ear and couldnt believe the amount of stuff that came out of it especially the huge chunk that was blocking my canal (even though the dr at H&N said nothing was in my ear). The dr at head & neck should not be allowed to treat patients, he clearly doesnt listen to them or anything do his job correctly. I have 30% hearing in my damaged ear that may require surgery which could have been avoided if this dr had done his job. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone and while I know there are good drs there, he is definitely not one of the good ones. He clearly cares more about himself and his looks than he does his patients if I could give zero stars I would!!
Horrible wait times. Super long commitment of time with no explanation in advance that you should expect to lose 1/2 a day.
I called the billing office weeks before my appointment to ask if they accepted my insurance and they assured me they did, when I got to my appointment the receptionist ran my insurance, I saw the doctor and made another appointment and made it home before they called to tell me they didnt accept my insurance and couldnt see me anymore, and then sent me a full bill that I didnt agree to pay. Awful.
I went sent here from the ER for cauterization of my bleeding throat, I waited over an hour before I went back. Where I waited more. Very nonchalant.
1st time to visit ok
Expert care.
👍🏽
A while back I went here and was very disappointed. I was sent there by my doctor because of a dizzy feeling I was experiencing. The doctor, staff, and audiologist were more interested in selling me a hearing aid then anything else. The doctor tried using fear/scare tactic to try to get me to buy a hearing aid, and the audiologist even chased me down in the parking lot when I was leaving to try to convince me to come back inside and talk to her about buying a hearing aid. This seem to be a very disreputable way to do business to me. I would suggest not going to HEAD AND NECK OF SURGERY OF KANSAS CITY!
Nice
