Went there late morning one day to ask about Western Union and money transfers was informed by the manager they could do it up until shortly before the end of the night and start closes at 10:00 p.m. I asked if I could come in later that night and perform a transaction and was told by the manager that yes that would not be a problem.However, when I return to the store later that evening there were only two employees working and both of which were new and claimed not to have been trained on how to do it and could not help me at all. I stood in the store for over an hour trying to figure it out on my phone without any offer of Assistance or attempts to get a hold of a manager or tell me when a manager me come back to assist me... She said the store opens the next morning at 9a, and she hurried me out the door. I understand not being trained, but to give me attitude and not even offer any possible solutions such as offering to contact a manager or calling another store perhaps. Instead I was just mostly ignored for over an hour. Overall, most of the employees who work there are fairly patient and friendly there are some who require a lot of work on customer service/ social interactions. Especially if you choose a career in retail.

This place looks like a morgue. It is so dark and depressing you can hardly see what your looking at! Everything is in disarray. I love the dollar general chain but I will visit a different location.

Love the store but employees are new everytime I come in so no one really knows where things are when you ask them.

Date of Visit: 1/3/2021 - I typically love Dollar General, however, this location is very creepy. It is very dark inside the store and hard to read labels/prices of the items. My family was wondering if perhaps they were trying to save money by only have 1/3 of the lights on? We were also disappointed we were unable to use our Tap-To-Pay/NFC/Apple Pay - the store had signs they accepted that form of payment, but the cashier was uncertain how to accept the payment; as such, we ran out to the car to get a credit card.

Would of gotten more stars if the place had LIGHTS! zway too Dark for a sunny day! Owners need to INCREASE LIGHTS!Good location just off old hiway 14 in Downtown lot of free parkingvery large store Vs janesville and New Richland stores

This store is great. I can never walk or without getting something. The manager was very nice and polite. Also HALLOWEEN, CHRISTMAS things are out now.

Like the store. Good deals, and excellent cold and frozen inventory. Its just very hard to shop there because there is not enough light. It is just too dark in this store, even in broad daylight.

ACCORDING TO THE AD THIS WEEK 12 PACK COKE PRODUCTS ARE ON SALE 3 FOR $11.00.THERE WASN`T A SIGN BY THE COKE SHOWING IT ON SALE. MY DAUGHTER WENT AND ASKED THE CLERK IF THE COKE WAS ON SALE. THE CLERK SAID IF THERE WASN`T A SIGN IT WASN`T ON SALE. MY DAUGHTER LOOKED FOR AN AD BUT COULDN`T FIND ONE IN THE STORE TO SHOW THE CLERK. ACCORDING TO WHAT I`VE FOUND ON THE SITE IS THAT ALL DOLLAR GENERALS HONOR THE ADS. WELL I DON`T THINK THEY DO.NEEDLESS TO SAY I WON`T SHOP THE DOLLAR GENERAL IN OWATONNA, MN EVERY AGAIN!

Lighting is terrible. Since day 1 when they opened. There has been lights burnt out. I counted at least 10 lights burnt out. And the lights that do work are not in the right location.

Need better lighting.

It was ok but it is so dark in there, and the isles are really narrow and when they are trying to put away a delivery it gets really narrow.
