Chicken & waffle were great! I never really had it before, but enjoyed every bite. The gravy was very tasty, a little kick in there. The country potatoes were very good. Topped with plenty of bell peppers & cheese. They serve with a side of very good hollandaise sauce. The biscuit was also very tasty. They serve VERVE coffee here π the drip was good & vanilla latte very tasty. Not too sweet!
The past 2 years we missed visiting crema, but boy does this place make up for lost time. The location is adorable and quaint. I love the history of the house and the conversion of their restaurant with coffee downstairs. Our breakfast was scrumptious filled with homemade dishes that tastes like homegrown eggs and veggies. The service was delightful and accomodating. For all you families visiting try a fog breaker from here! You wont regret it.
Hands down the highlight of my Birthday food trip to the Monterey/Pacific Grove area. Amazing breakfast(cant speak on anything else)... I got the Country Fried Steak and substituted the eggs for BACON. My GF got Chile Verde Burrito. Both DELICIOUS. No complaints.Bottomless mimosas in multiple flavors, guava was my favorite. They not only bring you a flute glass but a carafe with about 2 1/2 mimosas in it. Prompt refills!Definite must for brunch if youre in PG.
The espresso bar next door has seating outside, a great, cute place to have a coffee & cookie while waiting. We came at 11 AM, and were seated at 11:45. We got a cornflake marshmallow chocolate cookie, it was very interesting, thin crunchy oily. I didnβt love it because Iβd rather a thick crumbly cookie but it was certainly unique.Service/servers were great. But, the food...average or below. We ordered the judges rancheros w/ chorizo and avocado....points for the corn tortilla but it was a bit cold when it came out, and the chorizo and avocado was barely a sprinkle. There were barely any black beans? The βaward winning fried chickenβ strips...standard. Not sure who the competition was for the award :/& the waffle tasted like it was made at a residence inn.It is a very cute interior and the hostess and servers were very nice.- IG @masturplater
That was an easy 5 starts to give! The food was amazing!!! The service was great! They have menu that you scan with your phone so you donβt have to touch the menu and you can scan your receipt to pay!The food was sooo sooo good! I got the chicken and waffles and I loved every second of it! Hands down best brunch Iβve had in this city!
DeeeeeLicous Breakfast/Brunch with Mimosas, Coffee, and Bloody Mary. The menu is robust and something tasty available for everyone. We enjoyed many plates shown in photos attached to review. Our favorites were the Chili Verde, Huevos Rancheros, and sweet waffles.Eggs are cooked to perfection.Potatoes are seasoned and slightly crunchyChile Verde is juicy and meat melts into chile verdeHuevos Rancheros excellentWaffles are super yummyPlace and decor is welcoming, fun, chic, and boutique.Great for singles, families, dates....all the way to Grandparents. We are going back.
Went here for brunch while staying for the weekend. I had the chicken and waffles and it was AMAZING. They had several options for mimosas (guava, mango,, orange). The food was tasty and the drinks were heavy handed. As soon as we were done, the host asked us to move to the bar so that they could seat other people. I get the sentiment, but still found it off-putting as if they were trying to get rid of us. If you have the time, I recommend stopping here at some point, if you are in the area!
Perfect breakfast spot.We stopped here during our drive down hwy 1 - Pacific Coast Highway, and we are so glad we did.The food was amazing, and our takeout was ready for us to pickup right away.During our visit we saw the patio packed with people, and could tell this is a popular spot with the locals.Next Time Im ordering a Bacon Cheddar Biscuit to-go, they looked fantastic
We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at Crema. The establishment itself was a cute Victorian-styled house with outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed on the premises. I highly recommend the bottomless mimosas and the chili verde. The staff was really friendly and attentive. They also have a military discount which is always appreciated. We will definitely return and bring friends!
INCREDIBLE. You will NOT regret coming here. The food is fresh and filled with flavor! The service was great. The wait time can be a little long but itβs worth it. I ordered the calamari dish and my husband ordered the chicken and waffle dish. We loved both dishes! The juices were delicious as well . If youβre looking for a brunch spot you need to go here!!
Much better than the last time I came, food was delicious. I had the Papas Poblanas which was real great. Light on the seasoning so you could taste everything properly, homemade tortilla, and thick and perfectly crisped bacon. Had a nitro coffee that wasnt great, oh well. Service was good for how busy they were, no complaints.
Updating an old 5star I gave them a few years ago with a description: Their food is incredible. Chicken and waffles, baked goods, amazing coffee drinks (FOGBREAKER!!). The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is adorable. Theyve got increased outdoor seating at this time to continue serving the neighborhood throughout the pandemic.
Crema is an amazing place for brunch lovers. The atmosphere and building are very unique and itβs backed up with amazing food. We eat here at least once a month.
Great decor and vibes. Hostess mustve been having an off day... waiter was superb, had a great balance of attentiveness. Nice selection of beverages. Out of three dishes, only the chicken & waffles was tasty. Will try again and maybe give update.
An amazing brunch. We had the fried chicken and salmon platter. Both were very tasty and fresh. A perfect portion size for my wife and I and our young baby.
Had breakfast. They were very accommodating of my special dietary needs. Servers were great!
Today, September 21st, the maitred kicked the two of us out of our table so he could seat a party of three who came after we were already seated. Ill never patronize this place again and you shouldnt either! How rude and unprofessional!
Your classic breakfast spot with omelets, benedicts, and waffles. But, the atmosphere and service make it a very special experience. We did not reserve a table and were immediately seated at the best table, - on the balcony.Plus a waiter was very attentive. For the food - I fell in love with the waffles! So good by itself but with the toppings - a killer!
All time favorite breakfast/coffee location. I challenge you to try and find a better place in the bay. Fantastic service, amazing food, gorgeous location in an old home in downtown PG
Food was amazing, service was a tiny bit slow this time, but everything was pretty good altogether
Great breakfast place. Staff are very friendly and food was perfect. I had the no carb breakfast and lived it. Get there early for breakfast but worth the wait.
Great service, very friendly and charming environment! But the waffle was rather too soft and thin and the gravy made it soggy, and the gravy had too much flour in it. Could have made better chicken and waffles at home. The poached eggs were good though.
This was one if the best breakfast places I have ever been to! It was small, quaint, a little loud, but I forgot about everything else when I tasted the food. We had the chicken and waffles, and benedict fries. It was absolutely delicious. The gravy on the chicken was just spicy enough, and the syrup cut through it perfectly. The benedict fries was a meal unto itself, and I hated that I couldnt finish it all. It was a special they had, so make sure to ask. The fries were loaded with avocado, tomato, cheese, ham, bacon, and perfectly poached eggs.It was the perfect end to our trip and will be one of our first stops when we come back. Make sure you get there early because they fill up fast. Also, they have a little cafe/bakery on the first floor for treats on the go too!
Great food. Good service. Bottomless mamossas! Charming atmosphere. Smelly bathroom.... This is one reason why I prefer separate bathrooms.... Men are dirty while relieving themselves.... Gross.Overall.... Great place.
Bottomless mimosas, and hearty breakfasts! Pet friendly and gender sensitive location.. love their bathroom identifying signs, so cool! Great wait staff. Lovely, quaint location!
Food was great, service was subpar. Our server left for the day mid service, because her shift ended, but no one else was serving our table. Tab was brought to us 10 mins after getting our food... I placed it on the empty chair on our table, when the staff noticed there was no bill on the table they brought us another one.. We had their bottomless mimosas, but after the 2nd round the staff blew us off completely... only giving 3 stars because the cooks did a phenomenal job! Service from host and server was underwhelming
Great food, great service. If you have to wait because you didnt make a reservation, visit the coffee house below the restaurant. Outstanding espresso and lattes.
I came here for brunch with my wife and we were pleasantly surprised as we walked from Cannery Row 15 blocks south. When arrived, we saw a little cottage that had been converted into a restaurant and entered via the middle of the front. We were seated quickly and were well served by our waitress. I ordered the chicken and waffles which were delicious and the gravy was so decadent. I ordered the gravy on the side but ended up pouring it over the waffles and chicken before poured maple syrup over everything after tasting it. Brunch was priced and my wife and I cant wait to come back.
Its a very tiny place inside the espresso bar, Ive had good experiences when ordering hot drinks here. My friend got an americano that she said was very good, but my husband and I just got iced drinks that were sub-par. For being so expensive, stick to the hot drinks, theyre safer.
I cannot recommend the brunch here enough, you should try it all! The wait staff was also on point, friendly, and helpful without being rushy. Dont forget about bottomless mimosas in several flavors (try the grapefruit, its surprisingly perfect).I also appreciate their subtle stance on bathroom rights.
Loved it! Generous portions. Excellent service.
So glad we found this sweet restaurant! Their gin fizz, chicken and waffles, bacon and veggies were so yummy. The service was wonderful. Really great experience.
We waited 3 hours to get seated, just to be told that they were out of food. So hungry now
When you want to blow fancy people socks off with a breakfast bring them and order eggs benedict. Revel in all the social capital you gain. Also the food is really really good so there is that.
I went to Crema for a light lunch and coffee with a friend the other day and had a wonderful time. I ordered a cold brew espresso, with cream and sugar and it was WONDERFUL. Certainly some of the best coffee to be had in town. Along with my coffee I ordered the strawberry and spinach salad with feta and balsamic dressing. The salad was tasty, fresh, and very large.I will definitely be coming back with friends another time to try the espresso bar next.
First timer here, I chose the smoked salmon plate which was beyond delicious. They gave a very generous portion of salmon which surprised me a little. My plate also came with a salad consisting of strawberries, nuts, spinach and some cheese. Overall the plate was 10/10 but Iβm giving it 4 stars because they only give you 3 small bread slices and I had way too much salmon left over .
Food tastes good but was lukewarm or cool and definitely not hot. We ordered bottomless mimosas, but the waitress stopped serving us after only 2 rounds. We were only a party of 4 that did not get out of hand, so its poor that we were no longer served and simply ignored for 2 hours. Poor experience overall. Look elsewhere
Good potatoes and biscuits. Eggs cooked perfect. The coffee was tough for me to enjoy, but my problem is with the gravy. I would call it greyve because it simply lacks any flavor.
Trendy breakfast restaurant with a limited menu but delicious food. The whole menu is only one page front and back, but the options are delicious. They can work with large groups, but you will need to schedule ahead of time. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is well maintained. The food isnt overly pricey, about right for the neighborhood.
Excellent service. We just had coffee here. Dog friendly. We were able to bring our dog inside with us.
WOW! We ordered the chicken and waffles that came with a brunch salad. So incredibly flavorful! Service was very nice.
Best brunch menu in Monterey! Bottomless mimosas and chicken and waffles, what more do you need! The staff is absolutely incredible, as well. They were so accommodating for a large group that had a last-minute addition and subtraction. Phenomenal experiences so far!!!
Came here early on a Sunday after a long walk to get here. Very cute shop downstairs with a restaurant upstairs. We got a quiche which was excellent. The coffee was very good as well. Lots of locals who all knew each other here, which was cute! Winner!
Street parking only so be prepared to walk. Portions are slightly larger than normal. Everything was well prepared and taste good.
By far the best place to brunch on the Peninsula! My fiance and I have tried so many places and this is our favorite thus far. Its our got to place to take visitors as well. And it has not disappointed once.
Love the atmosphere of this place. Its great for small or large groups, and good with kids. Food selection is just right. Coffee is excellent. Service has always been a positive experience, even if theres a 30 minute wait for brunch!
Beautiful place, BUT the wait time is OUTRAGEOUS!!! We ordered a to-go breakfast around 11am and at 12:28pm we still didnt get it, without any estimate on how much longer it would be. Friendly staff but it is definitely not worth the aimless wait.
Outstanding service - the waiter was friendly and the coffee was kept topped off. Wife has a spicy bloody Mary that she thought was tasty, a hearty portion of vegetable frittata, and I went with crab cakes Benedict. The portion was generous and the cakes were bursting with crab. Expect to spend $40-60 for your meal, more with drinks.
Good breakfast. Good service. Cute place. Be prepared to wait after 9. Waffle was on of the best cooked waffles I have had BUT it did not have the taste I am used to..could not figure out what it was...sigh! The star was the POG mamosa ...bomb!!!! We will be back to try something different.
Good coffee and food. The cafe is downstairs and is a quiet place to enjoy a good cup of coffee or a latte. The restaurant upstairs is full-service, has good food, and a great atmosphere. The house biscuits are fantastic and worth ordering on the side if one doesnt come with you meal.
Wonderful service and delicious food. With bottomless mimosas. It was great to see so many friendly faces. My sister currently does all of their chalk signs and they are adorable.
The restaurant is in an old house, which really gives it a great atmosphere for brunch. The food and service was great! I definitely recommend the chicken and waffles.
Great place for breakfast or brunch. The Steel Cut Oatmeal is a great healthy option... but the Chicken and Waffles are why you should be going here. The coffee is delicious and the staff are knowledgeable about what they are serving! I have yet to have even a mildly negative experience here and plan to continue returning.
Absentee service during slow hours, which youll get at most places with young help. Two hours and change after opening should have been enough time for everyone to get their feet under them, but service wasnt TERRIBLE and the food, as always, was very good. Service on a busy weekend is usually up to the task, for those wondering. A nice way to have spent a bit of my Friday morning off. Will definitely come again, but get some pep in the step of the service eh?
Go! Eat! Among my favorite breakfast places: great staff, fresh stuff prepared with style and respect (they dont mess up classic flavors), great ambiance.
Nice breakfast place, good location, and great service. I ordered the chicken and waffles which was tasty, however, I hesitated at first due to the presentation of the dish. The gravy was a bit overwhelming and too thick which masked the flavor of the chicken. Overall, I give that dish a 2/5. Guava juice was watery and tasted canned. I recommend getting one of the egg dishes. Coffee was very good, highly recommend. I also think their pastries may be a better buy.
Pretty good place here. We had the calamari and eggs and the chicken and waffles. The former was pretty good and something that I felt was rather unique. The latter was awesome, someone at your table should definitely get it.
Very cute place. Food is grrreat. I go for the chicken and waffles. A table can take a while to get. Arrive 10-15 minutes early. This place gets packed on special occasions
Good food and ambiance. OK service
Long wait with plenty of open tables.Food was good, but the service was super slow. Stopped for a quick bite and 2 hours later was finally able to leave.Desperately needs an on-site manager during the week (didnt see one).
Cool spot in PG. Great breakfast choices. Chicken and waffles were popular and well done. Nice benedict options. I had a turkey, bacon and avocado bennie. Big chunks of turkey, perfect eggs. It looked small until I started eating, then I realized it was quite a bit of food. Excellent home fries, crispy and light potatoes. There can be a wait, but we were seated right away on a Sunday morning. One of the highlights for breakfast in a town with plenty of viable options.
Bottomless mimosas with several juice options. Incredible. The food is always spectacular. The biscuits I had at my last visit were fluffy and light. Delicious.
Perfect setting for a group meal with several families - we got an entire room to ourselves and they helped us with everything from baby stuff to divvying the check up lightening fast. The food was incredible and the service impeccable and friendly. I had the smoked salmon plate - simple, excellent, & delicious, with a unique and delightful twist.
Good Food. Great Service. Loved The Bottomless Mimosas. Had The Mango & Peach Flavor
Bottomless mimosas...need I say more? Ive had many a brunch here and everything is good.
The food was good, the lattes were beautiful, the atmosphere perfect for a brunch spot in charming Pacific Grove. We had great service and I can imagine that the spot is near impossible to get a table on the weekends without an hour wait. The wait would be worth it!
My favorite place to go especially when when our adults kids come to visit. We enjoy a liter of mimosas to start and their vary yummy breakfast selections. On casual days a vanilla latte and home made pasty is in order....
The food was fantastic. Great latte and comfortable restaurant. Would come again.
Whoever has given Crema less than 5 stars should have their breakfast card revoked. Friendly staff, beautiful setting, incredible coffee, and the food was a real experience. My wife enjoyed the bacon cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy and I lucked out ordering the best thing on the menu and the best breakfast I have ever had: PAPAS POBLANOS. Just go here and get it. Everything is done right and future breakfast restaurants will fail to live up to the food we had here.
Loved this place for brunch. I had the avocado toast with a poached egg and my friends had huevos rancheros (which they deemed very authentic). We also shared a waffle which was probably the best waffle I will ever eat. The place had a lovely and relaxed vibe and they served Verve Coffee. The servers were also really kind!
Best chicken and waffles in life try to compare you sneak dissin
This place saved our life. The bottomless mimosas where awesome loved the flavors too, the Benedict were outstanding! And our waitress, thank you! You were just what we needed and really made breakfast special and I cant say thank you enough! Youve got another 5 star rating coming for your kindness ;-)
