Phil at Doghouse repair is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. I had purchased a rebuilt engine from him online and I later delivered my 1979 Super Beetle to him for the swap. He contacted me the next day and advised me he could repair the engine in the car and that I did not need the replacement engine I had already purchased. I had the car back 3 days later running like a top and he saved me at least $1500. He could have done the engine swap ( like most mechanics would have) and I would have never known the difference. I HIGHLY recommend Phil at Doghouse. His integrity and skills are amazing.

Mr Phil is a genius. He is kind, considerate, and most professional. I have watched him over the fence for 5 years and he has worked on trikes, dune buggies, buses, rvs, cars, you name it, Ive seen it over the fence.He listened to what was going on, what had happened and my thoughts about what was wrong and was very patient (cause I can jabber alot) and in one day figured out the problem, fixed my car and did it at a reasonable rate.I highly recommend him and personally will not take my car to anyone else, ever.This is the man for whatever the job.

Bought a bolt for my vw beetle and Phil would not honor the bolt being the wrong size. i was told if it didnt fit i could exchange it but Phil said he never said such a thing. he is a liar and a thief and a cheat to take advantage of those without knowledge on vw products. i believe he went to home depot and bought my bolts he thought i needed and resold them to myself. he made me seem like i was a liar which iam not . this was the worst experience ive ever had. he also tried to sell me a carburetor which i found online brand new for 100 dollars less then what he was charging. i would recommend to stay clear of this thief. he will rob you blind and sell you the wrong parts. he is not very knowledgeable at all. his customer service skills are not good either. ive found a new vw mechanic that knows his parts and how a vw runs. i will never send no one to his bissness with the way i was treated and stole from.
