Great specialty 3rd wave coffee, the best in Palm Springs Ive had. Baristas know what theyre doing, good extraction, good art, and the beans and roast are good. If you like 3rd wave coffee, light roasts, micro-foam 8oz or 6oz milk espresso drinks this is the place. If youre more into Starbucks style coffee drinks with sugar and spices this might not be for you.
Great coffee shop, friendly staff, tonic coffee was amazing
I had been following this place on insta since before they opened, so was excited to ck them out. We were able to temp park rt in front, but probably because it was a weekday afternoon & overall PS was pretty quiet.I saw a salted maple matcha on insta that sounded perfect for our drive back to LA. The barista was super friendly. He said they were out of the maple tho, so we settled for the cinnamon matcha instead. Barista was exactly what you want when going into a cafe. Welcoming, personable, friendly. You could tell by the few others that came it while there, he was like this to everyone.Cafe is really cute & stylish. Look forward to actually being able to sit inside here and drink from real cups one day.Matcha was good...was really excited to try the salted maple tho. The cinnamon one needed sweetener.I just read they do stamp cards. I would have started one had I known as we go out to PS often to visit my uncle.Would recommend checking them out esp on way in or out of PS as they are on the North end of the 111. You can take a peek at the stylish, new Arrive hotel next door as well.
Cartel’s Coffee is excellent, and their BPE breakfast burrito is a solid Win! Love this place.
So far the best coffee in PS, and Ive tried a few places. Knowledgeable, careful baristas, good variety of beans. Highly recommended.
Absolutely awesome spot! They make an amazing Americano. Would definitely recommend.
I had one bad experience here. I eventually went back and have been several times since and its been great.
A great addition to palm.spring uptown. Right next to Arrive hotel in a very modern and industrial looking metal box. Interior is warm and airy with high ceiling and soft fabric covered benches along the back. Talented barista, great latte and cappuccino. You will order your drink with a smile if you pay attention to the wall art next to the barista station.
Cartel, by far, has the best cold brew in Palm Springs. They have two kinds of cold brew. I recommend trying the featured cold brew which is rotated every few days. The blend cold brew is also excellent. I have tried other coffee shops in the area, which arent bad, but Cartel coffee is such high quality, and is where you should go if youre a true coffee connoisseur. I also like that you can can choose from an 8 ounce or 16 ounce cold brew. Most coffee places only offer larger sizes and the coffee gets watered down before I can finish it.
High quality coffee and friendly/stylish staff.
Good coffee here. Street parking available in front.
Had an exceptional experience. Extremely friendly staff, fabulous iced dirty chai, will be back.
This has to be one of the worst cups of coffee Ive ever had. Stay far away from the cappuccinos here!!!
Beautiful little shop, but the sour coffee was awfully disappointing.
Worst service! Monday 5:30pm 2 dudes with attitude/disrespectful. Was my third visit and my last.Guess I was just Lucky last week I got served by the Manager asked for Moka cafe... was easy and perfect service.
Great coffee! A must stop at any location, we went to the one in Palm Springs.
I visited this coffee shop for a coffee tasting session today. The service was polite and attentive, and the coffee was 10/10! Plus, all the staff are also very professional. I didnt eat anything, but the food looked fantastic. I will certainly be back for some lunch. They run wonderful workshops as well, and you can even buy their beans to take home!
When I walked in this evening the young man behind the counter was kind of rude. It was my first time there with my daughter. I asked for an espresso with milk and he only gave me espresso no milk. Then there was a group of women who were Caucasian I greeted them well. And I ordered the four empanadas and overrated they were not good.
Delicious choice of food and an amazing atmosphere to complement. Pleasant owners who built a dining experience that is truly unique. It is highly recommended that you bring your friends and order family style just to try various menu items.
Their coffee was really good. The space for seating was a little on the smaller side.
Super helpful in choosing drinks to try. We loved lavender matcha and dirty chai latte.
Good, even great, coffee is increasingly easy to come by. Lots of coffee shops source high-quality beans and many coax the individual nuances out through the roasting process. The recent proliferation in high-quality coffee has not necessarily brought with it an equally widespread proliferation of high-quality coffee service. Cartel excels at both.I was spending a long weekend just around the corner and was glad to have found it on the first morning. I know this may come off as hyperbolic, but that first espresso on the first morning was transcendent. It was perfectly executed. Perfect temperature, perfect extraction, perfect mouthfeel, perfect balance, with a finish that went on and on. It was equal to glass of fine wine or a course at a Michelin-starred restaurant. And each subsequent espresso, latte, and pour-over (as well as coffee service next-door at Wexlers) was deftly prepared and given the same attention to detail. This is immensely gratifying coffee.Special thanks to Brittany, who was there bright and early each morning, for sharing your passion and knowledge!
Really good coffee! A coffee snobs must stop. We tried the drip, chemex pour over, cold brew and latte. All delicious. The latte could have been hotter but still delicious.
I love this place, its good and tiny so a line isnt unusual but its always worth the wait (and they move it fast). It is a cashless business which is my only critique, but that just could be the leftist in me screaming about classist covid precautions. 😂
Im willing to drive 2 hours again just to grab a coffee from here. I dont remember specifically, but I asked the barista to simply give me something creamy, nutty and sweet and I believe I was served an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and agave syrup. It just tasted different from the rest. Super good, clean place and friendly barista.
Small dirty Chi, surprised by how small it was. The Chi taste was stale.
Really good cold brew!
Disappointing after a long wait to have a baristas say they know how to make a dry cappuccino when they clearly don’t. Be honest & I’d gladly order something else!
Amazing coffee!! We got iced coffees and the lady who helped us (from my home state of Oregon!) was soooo nice and explained where they get their high quality coffee beans from. The coffee is SO GOOD! Tons of milk options too.
Great coffee. Always a stop on our trip to Palm Springs. Hasnt disappointed in quality of their products and customer service!
Was delicious cold brew and great environment to chill.
Best cold brew Ive ever had, insanely flavoursome! Friendly staff and orders turned around at lightspeed!
We tried to like the coffee, we really did, having four coffees from here over two days. But, the coffee has that burnt, overly-acidic taste that is, unfortunately, all too common amongst new “trendy” cafes. The coffee just is not drinkable.
Wow the blend here is incredible! Loved loved the cortado I got, wish I lived close so I can get this all the time!
Tiny coffee shop with a few Street parking spots but a delicious looking menu. The drip coffee was great!
Good coffee! Im a fan of the mocha with their cinnamon added. The place can get crowded inside when waiting in line, which is a bit troublesome esp with this pandemic.
Little pricey, but good coffee
The best. Love all the staff, always friendly and nice to talk too. Thanks for the cup of joe. 😀
Coffee was delicious and the barista was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back!
Best coffee in PS. Staff always lovely also.
Best ever!
Friendly atmosphere! I loved the music selection. There wasn’t a long line for coffee and the iced americano I ordered was very smooth. A little more pricey than I’m used to paying but it’s a great little place. The only thing I didn’t like was having to walk into the hotel pool next door to use the restroom:
My favorite coffee in the southwest, bar none. Been to the Tuscon and Palm Springs locations on various trips. The rotating featured drip coffee is so good, and love the chance to bring home a bag (or two) of beans.
Love Cartel Coffee Lab! Definitely the friendliest staff Ive ever dealt with at any coffee house. The environment is intimate, sunny and well designed. And they make a mean dirty Chai! ❤️
Very tasty coffee. Staff was super friendly and informative since it was my first time. Coffee was pretty strong and woke me right up.
Awesome coffee, the espresso was perfect! Coffee shop at actually closed about 5 minutes before we walked in, but the guys were super nice and very friendly and were happy to serve us one last cup of coffee. Cute shop too. Dont change a thing!
Best coffee shop in Palm Springs! The barista was so kind and personable, the management seems to be really cool and the vibe is dope!
Very personable service and the cold brew 96oz box was spot on!
Very high quality coffee
FINALLY!!! An excellent pour over in Palm Springs. Spent my last two vacations deprived of good coffee until I found Cartel. If you love third-wave coffee this is your new spot.
My top 3 fav coffee spots out here.Great coffee to enjoy there or take home.Super chill music and staff.
Very tasty coffee. Staff was super friendly and informative since it was my first time.
Great coffee and espresso in Palm Springs! Love their iced lattes when its scorching hot outside.
Very talented Barista, and great beans. My wife and I stopped by for a quick cappuccino and ended up talking with the barista for a solid 15 minutes. Super chill atmosphere and friendly staff. They have pacific oat milk which is pretty good, and know how to steam/pour.
Nice atmosphere and staff. Over 20 minute wait for the worst Expresso that Ive ever tasted... Too bad, overwise lovely place
Top quality espresso drinks from a friendly barista!
I visited Cartel three times during my week in Palm Springs. The coffee was consistently excellent and the staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting and plan on returning next time I am in town.
The best coffee I have had in Palm Springs. Very good espresso with freshly roasted coffee which is a must for the best espresso pulls. The machiato was great with sparkling water on the side.
Excellent whole bean coffee.
Loved it! Great coffee, cappuccino was very smooth and done to perfection.
Delicious and the two who were serving knew how to brew an exceptional coffee. Cheers
My favorite coffee place in town. Worked from here every day on my last vacation. Wifi works best poolside
I fell in in love with this cute café and its staff the first time I popped in. Vast variety of snacks and beverages, vegetarian option available.
If you like being around funky LA hipsters, this is the place to go. Lol. I aint a hipster but hey, a very calm and happy vibe and great coffee!
Excellent, seriously good coffee, all light-roasted, exposing the unique complexities of each origin. Brittney, one of the baristas, is extremely knowledgable and passionate about the craft. A coffee stop highly recommended.
The best cafe latte Ive ever had.
Friendly lady.Great coffee
Cartel has some of the best quality beans around. thanks for establishing a place in so cal!
Why are you pushing masks when the store is basicallyEmpty
Loved it
Didnt care for the carob flavor of the coffee.
The best oat milk latte i have ever had
Great coffe and service, nice atmosphere.
$6.75 for a latte that was not to temperature and weak flavor?!?! I know this is at a tourist hotel but come on now, get real... Go to Koffi, Coffee Bean, or Ristretto for better beans.
Service was great and the drip coffee was really good. If you get the coffee for dining in they give you an extra half cup refill if you get the 16 ounce. Would return!
Love this little shop. Great fit for arrive and fantastic coffee!
Great cold brew and cool staff.
Great coffee!
Interesting place. Good location for the North End of Palm Springs.
Perhaps living in the center (PDX) within the center (PNW) of coffee culture-land by way of some osmosis has developed a radar whereby locating an area’s best available coffeeshop comes easy & involves no need for prior research of rankings, reviews, or articles. For me, a coffeeshop must:1) Primarily focus on....coffee...no shakes, super-power-açaí juices, or gourmet sandwiches in the mix2) Keep the vibe simple & have an atmosphere reflecting the region which makes diverting a customer’s attention from a subpar espresso difficult. Also, I have yet to feel swept away & transported to the 6th Arrondissement. My intuition bested itself finding Cartel as the location, vibe, offerings, & (insert ANY superlative) barista Brittney were & are perfect.
Good coffee but long wait
Great selection of beans for pourover and take home, tasty drip, and excellent chai lattes.
We love Cartel sooo much beyond happy about this new location. So needed here!!!
Amazing lattes, vibes, and staff. I’ll be back again!
