Color Rite need to be called Color Wrong because they sent the wrong color for express paint.

For motorcycle paint, their Yamaha Blue color shade doesnt even match the OEM color- it always turns darker after application. They also wouldnt ship paint jars to CA for the longest time- only pens.

Color Rite is supposed to be an expert in paint and finishes for multiple industries, including motorcycles. I would not recommending ordering paint from them, because their information is misleading, their sales staff is not competently trained, and they do not really care about customer issues..........I ordered a Matte Magnesium gray paint for my motorcycle from Color Rite. The spec page on the paint said that the paint was a one-step, complete paint, not requiring a base coat. Further the spec page said, DO NOT CLEARCOAT. My paint person and I thought that this was strange because the matte finish paint would not be protected from gasoline or other various chemicals that may come into contact with the paint. We called Color Rite, and was assured that the paint was fine, and was blended to be a one-step paint..........After $150 in Color Rite paint and $240 in costs to have it applied professionally, my bike was done. It looked great for two weeks, until gas sprayed up from a gas pump nozzle leaving dark stains where ever the gas touched the paint..........I called Color Rite, and was sent from Customer Service to a tech person in California. I explained what happened, and pointed out that the spec page on the website said DO NOT CLEARCOAT, I was told that there IS a clearcoat recommended (#P-FKT600 Matte/Flat Eggshell Finish Urethane Clearcoat). I was told that this WOULD protect the paint..........Well, I told them that I would have bought the clearcoat from the beginning if I knew!! Who would want to strip a motorcycle for paint and go through this hassle twice? The Color Rite tech offered now to sell me the clearcoat for a $12 discount from the $69 price. Sheesh. It will cost me at least another $150 to get the parts re-sprayed.......... The one thing happened that drove me to make this review, was that they covered their tracks rather than admitted that their information was at fault, and did not make it right. The tech immediately changed the web pages for all of the Matte finish paints to now say, REQUIRES EGGSHELL CLEARCOAT. (I have screenshots from before my call, so I know what was written.) By changing it they acknowledged that their information was wrong.......... I was very disappointed that Color Rite steered me wrong in the beginning, cost me more money and time, and did virtually nothing to satisfy me as a customer.
