Great service here at the Palmdale Pep Boys. Took 2-3 hours with appointment to get my lifetime alignment done on my car, and a oil change with filter changed. Got a good price including with the coupon I had. Ill be back in 4,500 miles for my next oil change. And 2-3 years from now for my next alignment. Ask for Rick, good guy, hell take care of you and your car. Thanks guys.

Meh, bunch of young inexperienced staff, i shouldnt have to explain a part or item 3 times before they tell me they dont have it...Go down the street, the competition finds it in 20 seconds and has or ordered for pickup the next day...Not sure why parts house owners, franchises, etc. Arent mandating some type of basic parts knowledge/schooling or at least ASE parts pro cert, not that its worth anything and i know the turnover rate on 18-20 year old kids is high but not knowing what an oil absorbent pad is is pretty ridiculous. I know you dont have it in stock, i know you can order me a roll from the wear house... dont be lazy you have a computer, it does all the hard work, use 3 brain cells and youll find it.

Disappointed, took it in on Friday; had the ac checked and charged was told there was no leaks for. Saturday evening no cold air. They did not do the inspection the first time, took it back at 12pm Monday all of a sudden they find a leak. Thats how I know it wasnt done the first time. Never going back to Palmdale pep boys again.

Dissapointed, worst customer service, if you Walk-in they just give you an estimate not the actual price at the door? Really in 2021? I purchase the tires at Pepboys online and set up an appointment to install. They failed to keep my appointment and wanted me to go on a Sunday for installation and leave the car for hours.I just canceled everything and will never go there again.

Prices are a bit higher than their competitors but they are having a 40% off on all there stock on the floor. They are running low on inventory. Im told they are rearranging and new signage will be going up as they are bought out by Advanced Auto Parts.

Told us they had to replace an a/c and everything total would cost $1070 so our a/c would work and went to Mr T’s auto xpress and he told us it was just a little valve and total cost us $475 pep boys just try’s to take your money away

Five days ago they did work on my suspension system. I thought they had done a good job and was even impressed that they threw in a free alignment service. Today, Thanksgiving, I almost did a big road trip to be with family--good thing I didnt. My front wheel almost came off. Their negligent service could have gotten me killed.

I ordered a product via the internet for pick up from the Palmdale, CA store. The acknowledgement provided a claim number, the store location and stated that the item was at the store. The next AM I traveled to the store to pick up the item. The item was not there, but the information was there. I then called several times that day to see if the item had arrived. It wasnt until after 4:30 on that I found that the item had arrived.Im glad that the store was only six miles away.

I had scheduled an appointment for 11 am for a simple oil change on 8-14-2020, and upon arrival the service center associates did not acknowledge me when I first checked in. I had to initiate the fact that I had an appointment. I checked in around 10:45 am and I asked one of the associates for an ETA for my car. He said they were backed up so it would be within 3 hours which is understandable because of the pandemic. But if I had an appointment why would it be 3 hours??? What becomes the point of having an appointment? Anyway, around 1:30 I tried to call the store to ask for a status of my vehicle and I was hung up on. I decided to head to the store to see if my vehicle was completed and once again the service center associates did not acknowledge me when I stood in front of the desk. At this point it was 2:00, OVER the 3 hour ETA. At this point I just wanted my vehicle and wanted to finally go home. The associate checks inside the garage for the status of my car and upon returning he tells me, I told them to hurry up it should be 10 more minutes. Okay fine. 30 minutes later I FINALLY receive my keys and I can leave. It was very upsetting that even though I had an appointment it took almost 4 hours for a simple OIL CHANGE. I will never come to this location again because of terrible customer service and very slow mechanics.

During Covid times . I would give them a five star, but I had to wait close to 3 hrs inside for an oil change. I couldnt wait in my car, because Pepboys already had my keyes and it was too cold and windy outside. Its a big issue for me to wait inside considering that over 67,000 people are still getting Covid everyday. I was attended by Hector .I got to say you got to give this guy a raise. He was excellent with customers. I paid attention how he helped me and other people. Hes someone you that adds value to your company. I may come back to Pepboys just because of him. I would definitely make an appointment next time. By the way. Youre loosing business by making people wait that long. It was suggested that I change my front brake pads, and possibly roters, which I declined because I was tired of waiting.

I rarely if at all shop at this establishment. My experience here definitely solidified that I will continue to take my business elsewhere. If you need help or direction for your vehicle repair, or location of a specific item. Hope your a regular or know someone who knows someone. If not your just a fly on the wall. Even approaching someone for help gets you the as soon as Im done Ill get to you as you see them walk around talking answering the phone taking orders or looking up parts for someone while you wait for assistance. Or walks away and forgets about you...

Went in for an oil change and when completed, one of the employees inform me that I needed a new air filter due to it being dirty. This was a surprise to me due to the fact that I just bought a great quality air filter from them the week before prior. Needless to say that this will be the last time I ever come to Pep Boys for Parts or Services.

I went on their website and made an appointment for 11am. When I arrived they told me i had 4 cars ahead of me. I asked for an a/c evaluation. 2 days later they called and told me it was the condenser. The did not give me a breakdown on the parts and labor. When i arrived to get my car they made me sign the receipt. It was then i realized they gouged me on the part. They charged me nearly triple the amount for the condenser. They charged me 291.95, the price on their website was 116.99.They also charged me for a pepguard limited extended labor warranty that I didnt request, $30.67.Im assuming they probably gouged me on the labor too. $180.40 for 1 hour labor. Avoid this location. They are deceptive, unprofessional and definitely dont respect the customer. Also they care more about the person on the phone when you are waiting in line. Also, i asked the store manager to help me and he refused. He told me i had to talk to the service manager. Avoid this location on palmdale boulevard.

So.. I planned a trip to Washington state. I planned on driving my car. I decided to bring my car to pep boys before my trip to get master tune up, oil change and new tires. I spoke to the manager Armando. I told him to please check EVERYTHING on my vehicle because I was driving it to Washington which is over 1,000 miles from Palmdale.Okay.. so I got a call that my car was ready. I spent roughly $1,300 at pep boys.I left for my trip June 29th. I only made it halfway before the car started to malfunction.I was in Northern California when my car started having a hard time accelerating and the check engine light was flashing on and off. The car was literally shaking. It was shaking so hard that my little brother (14) and my daughter (5) and I were terrified thinking the car was going to give out on us on the freeway.I pulled over to the nearest hotel. A super 8 in Corning, CA. I got a room because we were terrified. We were shaking and crying. I was 8 hours from home with 2 children and I didn’t know what I was going to do. I spent $100 on a room for the night.Luckily there was an autozone right behind our hotel. I went into the autozone. I was in tears and asked for them to check the codes for the check engine light. They were happy to help. They put the code reader and it read so many codes it terrified me.The engine was misfiring due to the spark plugs and the coils needed to be replaced. I had just got new spark plugs at pep boys 2 days prior, so I was shocked to see that they were misfiring. Well... they started to misfire because the ignition coils went out. Armando and his crew had failed to replace the coils. Although I had specially told him to change everything and fix up the car to drive over 1,000 miles!!!The manager of autozone then called her personal mechanic to help me. The mechanic told me that I would be better off replacing ALL ignition coils and spark plugs to have a safe trip. After the mechanic replaced the coils and spark plugs the car made it to Washington and back with NO PROBLEM. This is no thanks to pep boys, who’s at fault for leaving two children and I stranded halfway to Washington.I spent $150 on parts at autozone. I also spent $50 for the mechanic to replace these parts. And remember the $100 for the room. So that’s already $300 extra from the $1,300 I spent at pep boys to “fix up” my car to make it all the way on this trip.After I got back I came to pep boys in Palmdale to talk to Armando about what had happened. He was very rude and displeasing. After all of that Armando gave me a refund of ONLY $150. After all the kids and I went through because of his negligence! I am so disappointed in pep boys. I will NEVER set foot in a pep boys again. Neither should you with Armando as manager. Pep boys you need to do better. I suggest you start with management! Armando is NOT fit to manage this store.Two children and I went through stress and emotional trauma and that’s something that can never be fixed. This should NOT be tolerated! No one else should have to go through this!Please please please be wary of this place, especially with a negligent manager like Armando.

What a terrible decision to make Armando the new manager at this location. Based on customer service alone, I would have chosen Larry as he has always taken good care of us over the course of several years of taking our company vehicles in for regular maintenance. Now that Larry is leaving, we do not trust that we will be taken care of and know that the customer service will not be Armandos priority as it hasnt been since our first unfortunate experience. Hes rude, dismissive, and is the reason well be taking our business where it will be appreciated.

I pulled in to have my tire pressure checked. I made eye contact with SEVERAL staffers. I NEVER got so much as a hello. After waiting patiently for about 10 minutes with nobody acknowledging my being there, I just left. I would NOT recommend anybody go into this store! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BEYOND HORRIBLE!!!

If I could I wouldnt even give this place a star! This Pep Boys is the most unprofessional and unknowledgeable and should not be in the auto business. The assistant manager by the name of Armando compare a brake job to dental work in which I paid $700 dollars for and had to take my car back 3 times for them to try and get it right. Then I paid for a lifetime wheel alignment and took it to Americas Tire where I buy my tires for my scheduled rotation and find out the alignment is off and my tires are wearing out on the inside faster than the outside totally screwing me out my warranty on my tires for replacing them, and all the all the so called managerArmando want to offer is another alignment. Thats poor customer service and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone who value their car cause you will end up paying more money to fix what that Pep Boys suppose to have fixed.

I was told it was going to be a 45 min wait to get my oil changed and I was like cool Ill have lunch at Don Chatos in the same parking lot. I scarfed down my lunch along with a deep fried ice cream what I didnt realize is that as I was scarfing, food particles where getting in my hair...I just want to say thank you to the gentlemen working at pep boys for letting me know about the food in my hair and not letting walk around looking like a crazy monster...thank you lolGreat customer service thank you for my oil change!!

I bought a headlight and the cashier said theyd put the light in. Then they wanted to charge $80 to install the the light. When I got home it was the wrong light. I went to AutoZone and spent 32$ for both lights and had help installing them. We had both of them in within 10 minutes. I used to go to Pep Boys all the time but never again.

My mother in law went here for a tune-up a couple of weeks ago, and now her car always sounds and feels like it is about to stall. She took it to them before for service as well and had to return to them because they screwed something else up. I would recommend you dont even bother with these guys even if it is a last resort.

I brought my truck in for a tune-up, found out it needed more thanks to their Diagnostics. They told me that a tune-up would do me no good they didnt want to charge me for something that wouldnt help me. Its rare to find honest mechanic. Didnt give 5 Stars cuz they couldnt give me the exact reason because it didnt have a tech specialist, But still worth the money.

Pep boys is the worst for car maintenance. I took my Dodge Dakota there to have the drums replaced in the rear and I spent almost $500 on it. The worst part is that they did not reconnect my emergency brake back up and my brakes still fell like the same before I took my truck in. I am not taking my truck back to them just to fix my emergency brake, instead I am taking my truck to Affordable Tires where they can fix this. I have taken my vehicles to Affordable Tires in the past and have been very happy with them.

Called an employee named Sandra who kept avoiding my question of If no manager is available during this time of 7pm then its safe to say that no one can have any questions answered? because her response was only that her manager can answer my questions regarding to services for my vehicle.Couldnt say yes or no because it does throw people under a bus for not being around. I am going there tomorrow to see if i can get any answers and if the management can encourage a better answer so that i dont have to take my business elsewhere.I know them as great people since Ive gone there. I made an appointment for 10 a.m..I was told that they would complete a front brake inspection for free. By 12:45 p.m. I hadn’t heard anything back from them so I walked up to the desk to inquire about the status of my vehicle. The brake inspection was completed some time ago, however they did not inform me of such. Over the phone, l was told that the replacement of my front brakes and rotors would be $335.00 plus tax. I was told by a representative in the store that it would cost $350 for the replacement of my rotors only! By this time, I was so frustrated that I just asked for my keys so that I could take my car elsewhere. GET YOUR VEHICLE SERVICED ELSEWHERE!!

I own a small shop, so just go there to buy my parts, the parts department has always done me good, Chantal and Many always try their best to help me out.Cant say anything about the other departments.Management gives a lot to wish for.I overheard the current manager Danny, talking to one of the employees with a very demeaning attitude, (Not the first time seen it happen) putting the employee down, telling him that should go back to flip hamburgers at M......regardless of what the situation was, it is something that should be handled behind closed doors, that is poor management skills.Management suppose to be a professional individual, knowledgeable with an positive disposition to make the team trive.I have heard this manager, make comments about one of the employees weight and other things.. Again, not something that should address in front of a customer. And when it comes to something so personal as weight related, should be commented at all.I have changed my rating because is no longer a place I like to do business with.

Love these guys .... these guys continue to out perform. The service manager and staff are taking care of things. I dont take my cars anywhere else. Lexus RX350 2007, Chevy Cobalt SS Super Charged 2007, Mazda 6 2014. When you get service you can trust why go anywhere else.Where else can you get someone to diagnose a problem for $20.00. They spent over 3 hrs looking for a noise in the Lexus for that rate. After words the repair was only about $200.00 the most being the part from the dealer.I wish everything I did was this easy ......

This rating is for the pricing.I am extremely pressured of an amount I have got through a phone call about my Vehicle repair which doesnt sound legit at all to me. Almost $1500 for a Cylinder misfire on a 2003 FORD CROWN Victoria. I know for fact that this kind of repair costs extremely lower I MEAN EXTREMLY LOWER then have been told. This amount I have been told gave me almost stroke. Tomorrow I will go there and will see the work they did in 3 to 4 hours. The description he gave me of the repair would take place at least a full day. $1500 I am not even earning that amount in 2 weeks. JESUS CHRIST you guys really.

I now understand why ratings are so low! Attitude means a lot. I went in to see about getting repairs. But was told they had to test my battery first, even if i already had it tested. Ok, but theres a fee for that. I said no thanks and walked away. After Im walking away he informs me that fee would be taken off the price of repairs. That might have been good to know up front.

I was skeptical about Pep Boys because they have the reputation to be unnecessarily expensive. However, it is not so. I went there for a quote for my tires & alignment. Not only did I get the best deal on tires, but also state-of-the-art machinery that fitted, aligned all 4 in ease. Plus an engine tune up with spark plugs replacement. I have been given all sorts of bogus quotes by other places & swindlers who call themselves mechanics. However, the manager Mr. Jimmy Montalvo at Pep Boys personally saw through all that was required and did not charge me or ask me to do anything unnecessary. My 17 year old van now runs like a charm. Thank you Mr. Montalvo, thank you Pep Boys!

Terrible! We have been loyal customers for years, but this is last straw. We brought our Saturn in asking for catalytic converter check (we had googled and knew that this was most likely issue with our cars symtoms), after a diagnostic we were told of 3 different things and that, BY THE WAY, Pep Boys doesnt even WORK ON CATALYTIC CONVERTER! IF THAT IS THE CASE WHY WERE WE NOT TOLD WHEN WE FIRST CALLED, OR EVEN WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN??? I am so angry, my husband went ahead and had them replace the accelerator sensor for $300 but how do we know its not just reading bad because of the converter issue?????? What a rip off!! We are currently looking for REAL AUTO MECHANICS for our lifetime of future auto repair.

Finally someone who knows customer service, customer satisfaction, and how to diagnose problems in plane English...Big Bill (William) from Autozone across the street has come to pep-boys with his parts expert and ase parts certification, I went in to grab a quart of oil and spoke to bill. This man is always a pleasure to talk to you, able to multi task and has a deep understanding on most common issues in regards to proper automotive, boat, truck and tractor understanding!! I have been dealing with bill for over 10 years at autozone, I had wondered where he was the last few trips to autozone and now I know.. good choice pepboys, I already noticed your palmdale pepboys looks better and see better customer service with bill being there.

I am sorry to see such poor reviews for this Pep Boys, as my husband tends to favor them for service on our vehicles. We have had some issues in the past, but they always tried to make them right. Luckily, he knows what hes talking about when it comes to most car issues, so he can ask the right questions. Last time we had an issue, for some reason they couldnt credit the charge account we used to make up for their error, so they issued store credit in the form of a gift card (which my husband promptly misplaced) Men **sigh**. We currently have a vehicle in for service, waiting for a part. (Same vehicle, btw, but new issue). I would like to note the the star rating is a little off, as one of the one star reviews is in here twice.

Came in for preventive maintenance of brake pad service, it took them 5 days to complete the service. They ended up breaking the calipers (and not telling me), installing the pads on anyway hoping I wouldnt notice that it was done incorrectly and dangerously, and doing an overall horrible horrible job. Do not recommend at all. I had to go to a secondary mechanic to undo all the damage they did, cost me over $1000. If I could give no stars I would.

I made an appointment, they called me and cancelled my appointment due to overbooking. So I made another appointment. The day of my appointment I called in to confirm and the person said I did not have an appointment and the sales rep that made the appointment was new so I technically didnt have an appointment and there is a 3 hr wait. What!!!!! And to top it off, the previous time I brought my car in they stripped the oil filter cap. Never mention it to me so when I took my car somewhere else that place said they didnt want to be liable for the damage. So I have no choice but to get an oil change here and pay the extra 40$ ... thanks Pep Boys
