Love this place! The atmosphere is wonderful and drinks well made! Anything they make is delicious. That being said I’ve had multiple bad experiences with the baked items out of the case. Root doesn’t make these items and once you taste them it’s painfully obvious. They are usually old, hard and stale. I randomly try different things hoping they have improved but I just got a chocolate chip cookie that was harder than biscotti. My toddler that I bought it for wouldn’t even eat it.When I risk buying something out of the bakery case it usually gets thrown away uneaten.

They have great coffee drinks and pastries. They will also sell art and other things for a percentage of the sale price. I had a stand of vintage vinyl records there. I came in to collect the money for what had been sold, the girl behind the counter said none of them had sold. The stand was nearly empty. So either they are selling them and stealing all the money, or they are letting the patrons steal them.

The staff was really nice, and the drinks where on point, plus its a locally owned business. With these uncertain times, its nice to shop local.

A group of friends and I meet weekly during the school year. The sweet ambiance, excellent food and drink make this our favorite. The staff is quick even though they are always busy.

Lost my business at the door. “Wear a mask until seated.”. I can’t support this level of ignorance. The air you expelled must stop at your table. Bet you don’t sanitize every table between people using it either. But make sure to wear a mask dur dur.

I don’t live in Pittsburg but since Root Coffeehouse first opened i’ve been a regular customer when in town. However, i stopped by last Thursday for usual latte to go bc we were in a hurry. It was so watered down that it was much like coffee flavored milk. Also, signs inside read, Do Not Remove Your Mask Until Seated, not one bit friendly or inviting. I’ve loved this quaint coffee shop, at one time great atmosphere, but not sure i’ll be returning.

Only been to Root once but Ive already decided to become a regular. The spiced chai was perfect and the bottomless mug deal got me three chapters deep into Crime and Punishment.Bathroom was so clean it made me feel shabby by comparison, the service was authentically friendly, and free WiFi seals the deal. If you like caffeine and local business, go to Root.

Used to be my go to coffee shop. The coffee was delicious and the staff was friendly! It went downhill around last summer when there staff left and was replaced but now its a give or take place for some good coffee!☕

My first time visiting the place since it has been open, needless to say I should have visited sooner! The place is beautiful and is a very relaxing environment. Drink prices are on par with Starbucks. The place was very clean and the bathroom was one of the nicest restaurant bathrooms I have been in. Not to mention that the drinks were fantastic and service was great! I will definitely be giving this place more of my business rather than Starbucks.

We went to this place while staying in a cabin at Lake Crawford. The crepes are amazing! The coffee is brilliant and amazing priced. This was a great find. Highly recommend it

This is a really cute, fun local place. The staff were all really friendly and laid back. The coffee selection was really great. Vegetarian and Vegan friendly menu options. They showcase several local artists (paintings, jewelry, artisan soaps, etc) in their shop. The prices for the art goods were all really reasonable. Ample street parking was also a plus.

Root is a local coffee house that uses a local roaster for their beans. If coffee isnt your thing they offer much more. There is a nice selection of teas, Italian sodas, smoothies and shakes. They also have baked goods and sandwich options.In addition to all of the consumable goods Root hosts local artists work and has for sale local designs and goods. You will find anything from hats to honey at Root.There is free wifi and it is the perfect environment to work or meet with friends.

I love this place. The staff is friendly. It is so nice to drink some coffee, relax, and get work done in such a nice environment. Definitely recommend over Starbucks.

I go here at least twice a week when I’m in the town and it’s great. Drinks are stout and filling. Can’t drink more than half my 16oz. Friendly staff and tall ceilings.

Said it closed at 9:00. Showed up at 8:50 and the doors were locked. Group of workers just stood at the counter. Oh well, McDonalds probably has better coffee.

This is the 3rd time Ive come in for coffee and gotten terrible service and terrible coffee. I stood at the counter for 5 mins and no one acknowledged me. And when they did.....no apology not a oops and they where not busy the girl was simply too busy talking. Then I get my coffees and they always taste like water. They need to re-evaluate and retrain how to make the drinks and give everyone there a crash course in customer service. Because yesterday was the last chance I will have given the root. The o ly redeeming quality it has is that it has a nice atmosphere.

I really like it there. Im a bit of a coffee snob so I like certain things a particular way, but their coffee is still good, as are their espresso-based drinks. I got a pour over recently and the person making it failed to let the gases off, which totally smooths out the coffee. It wasnt pleasant. But that was just probably inexperience of the college-aged kid working there. Its local so that also ups my like of the place. They have a small selection if delicious baked goods, including gluten-free options. I hear their crepe menu is excellent, but I have yet to try those though. They alao sell lots of other odds-and-ends like homemade lip balm, jams, and local art! All-in-all a solid, worthy of patronage, local coffee house.

I love this place, it has a very kind staff, I mostly go and sit and read my comics and unwind on the weekends and pick up a drink before work, it is generally full of college students studying and just a few groups just chatting and getting together. The food is great as well, nice crepes and sweets made from a local shop.

Customer service is always AMAZING! I pay the same price for 2 drinks as I would for one at Starbucks and they taste so much better. I dont have to pay for espresso shots in frappes because my drink already comes with 2 shots. The only place I will purchase coffee in Pittsburg.

My Americano tasted like hot bleach water. Took a long time to get my wifes latte to her and they said they had trouble with one of their machines. Not much coffee flavor in hers either.
