Came by to look around. Lots of Japanese magazines, books, manga, English manga, Japanese-English textbooks like Genki, and stationary of all kinds. Also a few knick knacks like plushies, a few kids plates, felting kits, etc. If youre into this sort of thing, come by to look around even if you arent on the hunt for something particular!
This Kinokuniya location is quite small, and had very little in terms of stationary, at least in comparison to the Carrollton location. However, they had a good selection of manga and gifts. Its a nice place to get sidetracked in while visiting Mitsuwa Marketplace.
The store is fine and cute, but last time I went the girl working was extremely rude. Never had a problem prior. Made a huge deal during checkout. Made me so uncomfortable, after I paid I left the store. Didnt end there because she ended up talking to the security guard on duty warning that I was trouble. Wanted to buy stuff from the actually grocery store outside Kinokuniya, but again this employee made me not feel welcomed so I just got what I paid for and left.
A friend of mine brought me to this place and I loved it, I got my nephew these pokemon lego sets and he loves them, I 100% recommend this place
I really like it here, they recently added a small section for Jujutsu Kaisen merch. I just wish there were less surprise grab bags so I could choose which characters I want. I actually prefer this location over their larger location in Carrollton--the lines here are never too long and the service is better. The staff have always been so polite and helpful.
It’s pretty standard to see Kinokuniya in the same place as Mitsuwa and it was nice! Even though it was a small area, they organized it well and the assortment of items was consistent with quality Japanese items and books. This area was very well lit, staff friendly, and items for sale were unique and you wouldn’t be able to find it unless at a Japanese book store. Prices were what I expected so no surprises there.
I expected a much larger store. This one is located inside the Marketplace, and is very small. However, it had a good variety of selected merchandise.
Very helpful and friendly staff! I was able to order a special edition book from Japan with their help!
This is the second Kinokuniya I’ve been to (the other being in Katy, Tx) and it’s a lot smaller but they still have a good amount of items. It’s easy to overspend here because they have a lot of harder-to-find books and fun items like blind boxes, pins, stickers and stationary.(It’s inside of Mitsuwa Marketplace right at the entrance so once you go inside you can’t miss it but you might be confused if you’re looking for a Kinokuniya storefront outside.)
Its not a bad store, but I was disappointed that they only sold manga instead of providing the wide range of books Kinokunya is known for.
They are amazing! I had looked all over for a volume of manga that has been on backorder everywhere for months when I came across it in stock at this location through the main Kinokuniya website. I called them up and ordered it over the phone to deliver to me states away. They were incredibly kind and helpful and the ordering process was easy. My package arrived way faster than I expected (they even shipped it on a weekend day) and arrived in excellent condition! They took great care in packaging it which Im incredibly grateful for. They also gave me a free bookmark and catalog with coupons. Thanks guys!
If you love anime they manga books, toys and a lot of other stuff
Very small and only 3 shafts are books. But definitely a good stationary and gift store.
We had a blast and found a lot of good Japanese treasures and the market was awesome as well. Wish we had one closer and we would go every week.
Very cool and different experience. If you love anime or manga I definitely recommend. btw It is located inside the supermarket.
Honestly, its pure weeb heaven, multiple selections of manga in English and in Japanese, and multiple figures,it also has cook books and many different items for purchase
Awesome selection of Manga and journals.
Wayyyy to high on products! Will not be back...
Friendly service and a great variety of products. I love going here for manga and anime merchandise.
AMAZING PLACE. They had all the books I have been looking for! Sadly I didn’t have enough money to buy them all😂 But once I have lots of money I’m definitely going back there
Wonderful little shop with a very helpful staff.
Ive spent a lot of money here. Great selection of travel books, Japanese magazines and Manga.
They had a lot of manga and light novels but i still did not find classroom of the elite and there is only 1 employee overall ok experience
Excellent selection of Japanese Grocery Items. Plus a great Book store with Manga. And Japanese fast food Restaurants
This is a must stop on every visit to the area. It’s the only place I’ve found around that sells Travelers Notebooks. I love love it!
This place is always fun to go shopping at and browse around in! They have a good selection of stationary, books (education, magazines, manga, art books, etc.), toys, and novelty items from Japan. The people working there are always friendly and helpful! I buy books and figures there almost everytime I visit. Each time I visit theres something new and interesting on display around the store. Ive gone to a Kinokuniya Book Store in Japan and can tell how similar they are in terms of variety and selection. One of my favorite stores to visit!
This book store gives me so much joy. They have books in English as well as Japanese and Korean. My favorite part is a generous stationary section with a great selection of cute pens and notebooks.
This shop is located inside of a small shopping mall and there are no visible signs for it outside of the building. Even so, its a pretty neat little store with many imported books and stationary items. Prices for writing implements were reasonable and what I expected. The small bakery located just next door (try the walnut bread!) was definitely a great find too!
Hidden within a Japanese market, this bookstore has many things ranging from multi-pens to notebooks and more. Being a person who is...enthusiastic about paper, I was very pleased with their selection. They have only a couple of fountain pens but they are fairly priced and good quality. According to my girlfriend, they have many cute things and studio Ghibli products. If I am ever in the Dallas area, Ill be sure to stop by for restocking.
Im obsessed with this bookstore. It has a lot of anime merchandise, which is neat, but Im really there for the great selection of really nice stationary - notebooks, pens I didnt know existed... If youre nerdy at all, give it a shot. Especially if you like cute stuff!
What a wonderful area! I am very excited that they will be celebrating their one year anniversary next month!!! Lots of unique books, pens, and other momentos in the store. And the fact that its housed in the marketplace makes the atmosphere that much more electric.
Lots of stuff to see, tons of imported stuff as well! Some great restaurants in there as well, so coming here will be a great time.
Personally, I love Japanese things, but this place sells adorable keychains, manga, plushies, pens and pencils, etc. I really loved my visit here and I will most definitely come back again!
Nice little place but is enough to satisfy your curiosity for Japanese things.
Mainly a book, knickknacks & art store. fun to look around. also some anime items
Only manga shop for miles, also has a nice selection of both English and Japanese.Would recommend, actually I am come to think of it...
Love this bookstore. Not often in the area but when I am, the limited yet robust offerings of art books is a boon to the area.
Neat experience, very cool market place. The bookstore had a ton of stuff in it.
Love this store! Lots of books (in English and in Japanese), magazines, movies, decorative items, collectibles, school supplies, and pens, pens, and more pens! Its location inside the Mitsuwa Marketplace is perfect if you want to grab some ramen or mochi after youve shopped!
Very cute!! If you like to kpop journal or journaling in general this is the right store :) they have everything it’s a little overbearing 😭⭐️ But this is definitely a good Japanese stationary store. :)
Knowledgeable staff and stationery heaven
I love Kinokuniya, but this is a VERY SMALL one. The one in Carrollton is much larger with a better selection.
Kinokuniya is an amazing store. I have been to three locations and all three have been fantastic. This location was inside a little shopping center and had a decently sized selection of merchandise from Studio Ghibli memorabilia, origami books, anime everything, notepads, pens, etc.Staff was really nice as well and will definitely go back soon.
Whoever needs some cute stationary or cards...this is the place for you!
Impressive Asian stuff.
This location is very friendly and has lots of stuff from Japanese culture. If you like Manga, they have you covered. If you are into Pokemon, they got stuff to feed your addiction. From Studio Ghibli, they have home decor and collectibles. Want to learn Japanese? They have many books from which to learn. This place is a great place for Otakus and fans.
Great little bookstore, has so much variety from little kids to adults.
Hidden in the Japanese market, which is tricky to find compared with the map. A interesting place in Plano area, but much smaller than the one in Carrollton.
Nice Selection, good prices.
Small store, but good assortment of pens, books, stationary, etc.
After first visiting the large Carrollton store, the small Plano location was disappointing. I had assumed the two locations would be similar if not identical.
Really awesome selection of books.
Bestest store ever!
Well organized and reasonable prices.
Nice great selection but a bit small
I dont spend too much time in the book section, but their selection of pens, pencils and journals make this one of my happy places. I have to stop in whenever Im nearby.
Good place for stationary needs, manga, toys, and more although it might be a bit overpriced
Too pricey WARNING: OVER PRICED AND RIP-OFFA
Lots for cute stuff!
Cute items, but a little overpriced.
Cute stuff!
Such a neat place
Love this place!
Nice
Live for this place
It is the best in all of Texas. I recommend it to everyone who wants to find the different one. And do not forget the kitten keyrings. 👍👍👍😎😎😎
