I always love coming in here. Its morphed into more of a competition game shop but I love seeing the old systems setup and that you can still buy old stuff in the wild. It reminds me of going into a rental place from the 90s and early 20s and I cant help bit feel nostalgic. I dont game as much as I used too but this place was my go too when I did and gave them a lot of money. I truly hope they stay in business for many many years to come.

Every time I come in from houston, I have to make a stop at FX games. I cant think of a better game store with better customer service in Texas!

This place is great! I took my Xbox One X here to get fixed. I wasn’t getting any video from my console and was looking for someone to fix it. Normally I would have just bought a new console or used my warranty but my warranty had expired and there are no new consoles to be found anywhere without paying outrageous prices. They are fairly priced and even for a two week turn around they fixed my Xbox quicker than I had expected. It literally runs as if it were brand new. Don’t waste your time anywhere else. They take pride in what they do here.

Fantastic customer service. They authentically want to help you and not just take your money. I wont go anywhere else for console repair. Plus they have a large selection of old games you cant find other places.

By far the most established retro collection I have browsed in the metroplex. In addition, they do repairs and modifications to consoles, they are upgrading my SP screen presently. And then in the rear of the store I found tabletop setups for competitive esports! Gamestop needs to take notes.

I had a PS4 that would start fine, but just show a black screen once it was fully started. I called and told them what was going on and before I could even finishing telling them I was told it sounded like the hard drive had gone bad. I took it in, they put in a new hard drive, and I was out within 30 min. My PS4 now runs perfectly with an outstanding picture! Thanks! I will be using you in the future!

Great hidden gem! Took my ps3 in to get repaired. They got it up and running at a decent price. Excellent staff and I appreciated the honesty with my repair. We’ll definitely be doing more business with these guys!

Very good store. Never had an issues with their prices or anything Ive purchased. While they dont have the best stock for some of the newer systems games, like Xbox 360/PS3 onwards, what they have is reasonable and obviously theyll be rotating in new stock as they can. If they ever get more of the stuff Id be looking for in consistently then theyll be near the top of my list while Im out and about.

This place is pretty cool, they have a huge selection of game, good trade in values and good video game sell prices, will definitely be visiting here again.

Its one of the highest rated retro game stores in the metroplex for a reason. While it isnt the flashiest store or the largest, I can guarantee everything I buy from here will work right out the door. They are one of the only game stores I know that resurfaces every disc game that comes through their doors. Their prices are fair and tend to match with the current trending market value of games. I am happy to give a local store my business over the Ebay counterpart any day.I have to say that while the customer service experience overall is great, it can vary depending on the front desk staff that day. The main guy (Damien (sp?) ) usually running the front desk is awesome and I look forward to seeing him when I walk in! If the owner sees this - give that man a raise - he is a great people person and very knowledgeable!As a retro game collector, I can never walk out of here without buying a whole bunch of fantastic cheap games.

Great staff, wonderful place with a massive variety of classic and current games. They got my Dreamcast repaired with no issue. Definitely a must stop for the local gamers. They also have other collectible toys and comics as well.

Tldr: brought in ps3, but they had issues with it and replaced it.Brought in a Playstation 3, I bought off ebay for a clean(and repair but was told they were unable to fix). (2wks) later received a call from the owner of the store saying that they had issues getting a image from the console and would replace it, if they couldnt get an image from the console. less then a wk after that, I got a call saying that they were ready, when i was told it could take up a month.(I was in a middle of a game when they called too hehe sorry if you heard my friends on discord)Honestly, probably will be coming back here again because of the call with the owner and quick turn around. If it wasnt a decent drive, I would probably be coming here way more often. Also props to letting my brother pick it up!

Just moved by this place and went to check it out. Was going to just browse, but ended up walking out with a clean Sega Genesis system. Paid better prices than I’ve seen online, and didn’t have to wait for it to show up at my house. Guy behind counter (I’m bad with names) was knowledgeable, professional and hardworking. He was able to handle 2 different repair requests, check me out and continually answer questions getting thrown at him. I will be back here regularly. Hope one day to walk In there and stumble upon battle toads for any system at a decent price! Great place to relive the nostalgia of the great games I played as a kid. I really like this store and the employees seem to know their stuff and they had good customer service. I bought a used Nintendo64 there and we love it. The power supply was bad on it. We brought it in and they happily switched it out for a new one. No problem.

They repaired a broken hdmi for a ps4 I bought on OfferUp. I went ahead and had them switch out the hard drive as well, I supplies the drive. The price was great and the service was quick. Game prices were a bit high compared to other stores like them but not terrible. Their stock is a bit better than most of their competition. When I am in the area I always stop by to see what is in stock.

I was whondering if yall can help me with my ps4 it is model Cuh-1115a and the I can not Accept a disk and it will not read it I took it to a repare shop and they said and chainged some cable and that my disk drive did not work and they supposably chainged it.(it does not work)

Went in to find a few games for ps1 to ps3. Asked about a certain game and the sir at the counter said if it wasnt out on the shelf they didnt have it. I thought nothing of it and went back to looking. the man then went and looked in the back and found what I was looking for without being asked. great customer support and the games are priced way better than I could have imagined. My boyfriend of 7 years and our family are avid gamers PC PS4 XBOX to the old school super nintendo, wii, reg Nintendo to even handheld gaming (Sega, Gameboy). Our collection of skylanders is embarrassing but proudly displayed. Not only does FX games recommend THE BEST games for us but also my poor PS4 was on its last leg and Blake the best repair hero man came to our rescue. I will never go to a game stop or any other game store because of their impeccable customer service, recommendation and all around knowledge. For kids to adults this is the place to go to not just support a local business but to support subject matter experts. I have spent way too long talking to everyone here asking so many questions they are so patient. My daughter loves games now and you know how important technology competence will be in the coming era. They have great tournaments, they even offer good grade discounts to help the community. My husband took our PS4 Pro to get fixed and Trey was extremely professional and kind. He was completely honest with us. He couldn’t fix the issue and ended up replacing the whole unit. Finding someone who is as professional and honest as Trey is extremely difficult. I’ll continue to bring all of our electronics here and we highly recommend them!

This place is the Mecca for older video games and consoles while still keeping newer ones in stock. Employees are dedicated, friendly, and always willing to help. They also host the largest weekly smash bros tournaments in Texas. Whats not to like? A super cool spot. Id much rather give FX my money than GameSpot or another competitor.

Can’t speak for the quality of repairs as I showed up today at 11am to pick up my console and it was not open. The sign said 11-9pm. The open sign was on. I called no answer and messaged them and no response. I waited until 11:30am and still no one showed up. Come over on my lunch break to pick up and all they did was waste my time. Didn’t even get lunch.I called back at noon to complain and was told manager was not in. When I asked for his hours to call back I was told they do not know his hours. My advise to you is call to make sure they are open as the sign and hours listed are misleading. I’ll update review once I get my console back.

This place is cool that there are some consoles I have never seen up close but I wish the Atari games were priced at 2-3 dollars a game so I could buy them in bulk for my collection. But I still like coming here looking for games that are often overlooked! :)

My favorite retro store in the DFW area their prices are fair and are always having new stuff in stock staff is really friendly and knowledgeable too.

Evan helped me for the better part of 90 minutes. I had no idea what the value of my games were, but the FX prices seemed very fair. Evan answered all my questions, and was super efficent entering in nearly 50 items. They were super busy, but Evan didnt seem to mind at all.

They quoted a week and had my ps4 repaired in 2 days. Price is very reasonable and they upgraded my device to 1T. Im very happy with them and saving me so much money vs buying a new system.

This place is awesome and the staff there is very friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about all consoles. I prefer this place way over any other video game store since most of the others have an unhelpful staff and hardly anything worth buying since their stuff is not in good condition or overpriced or both. The dreamcast console i purchased from this Game Exchange was reasonably priced since it was reconditioned and the games I bought had been resurfaced by them. Apparently they resurface all of their games so that they look and play like new which is very awesome. I look forward to going back in the future.

Got trapped in a hail storm and ran into this random game store. They were cool enough to let me hang out while the storm blew over. They had really cool games and all sorts of stuff for me to look at while I waited. I dont even visit other game stores anymore. I have been going to FX for years and have had tremendous success finding old stuff that I was looking for, getting my consoles repaired, discs resurfaced, and attending a few tournaments. I have ALWAYS been very happy with the help in the store. Trey has always treated me great and taken great care of my boys. Im there once a week at least and will continue that trend into the foreseeable future. Best shop around, PERIOD!

Good prices, honest employees, great game selection, and they do console repair.Its not the prettiest shop in town, but decorative lighting and elaborate displays dont make the games play any better when you get them home. The truth is no other used game vendor offers the service, quality control, and rapport that I get with FX Game Exchange.Repairs come back quick and dont cost an arm and a leg. And Ive never had any issues making exchanges if I was dissatisfied with the product.I dont always shop there for games and peripherals, but I always check there first because of the consistently good experiences I have there. I basically only go elsewhere if they dont have what Im looking for.

Really good tournament scene and environment. Bought a refurbished GC controller from them probably about a year ago, and it still works like new. Great store overall.

They have amazing morality here, which isnt something you see often in this trade. Amazing customer service, they make sure that what you buy is in the best quality possible, and should tbere be a defect, they will repair it almost always free of charge if not always. This is one of the most amazing game stores in town in that their prices are fair and their products are in great condition. If i could id rate 6 stars.

This is the best shop in Plano for retro games and game systems. There are ancient treasures on the shelves. Also, have some old games or game systems to sell? Theyll buy them from you. Best of all retro games are still fun and inexpensive.

Dropped off my Xbox about a month ago it needed a new laser and disk drive repair works as good as new. Came back again two weeks later dropped off an Xbox controller to be repaired and a super Nintendo. Time of repair is reasonable and the price is much better than other places.I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that needs their console repaired they are reasonably with their prices and their quality of work is awesome.

Recently visited the store after weve called in to confirm they clean old video games. The person who answered the phone responded that its usually done for free, but because of the quantity of the games (20+), he would have to charge us about $1 each. We were completely fine with that as we really needed it done since weve intended to sell these games weve accumulate throughout the year and needed some help. When we arrived and spoke to the manager, he immediately got offended and was extremely personal responding that (not verbatim) I wouldnt put my employees though this referring to cleaning the games despite the fact that a few of the employees at the time were just sitting around in the store, and also adding that since were making money off of (him), hed have to charge $2 per game. Obviously, this was not the price that was previously negotiated and I was appalled hed double the price just because of our backstory situation.Its extremely disappointing to see poor business ethics. It made no sense how were making money off of him, especially seeing as he had practically -NOTHING- to lose and only money to gain since he would only had the opportunity to benefit from it. We didnt have to go there and we could easily find another place to take our business to; this is just not the way to deal with people who approach you for your service.Will not return again due to the rude customer service, dishonesty, and the discriminating personal judgments used when operating the business. When we left, we thank him for his service and said our goodbyes -- in which he made no effort to respond. I would definitely recommend avoiding this place because he has zero respect for his customers.

I went into this location to sell a couple of game systems. Before I weny in I was told to call an ask if they would,have the money to make the transaction. I also was told over many different days that they would take the game systems even,incomplete. Otherwise great shop and a good place to get games for older game systems

FX is everything that I want out of a videogame store. It has new and retro games with a loving staff that takes pride in their work. They are always happy to help you find something you need and are a blast to talk to. Also, FX holds tournaments! The tournaments Ive gone to that where hosted at FX are some of the best tournaments Ive ever been too.

First time in today and this shop is really cool! Arcade games are set up through out as well as a large space for hosting gaming tournaments. Staff was extremely polite and informative, Tristan was a great help and I will be back for any other gaming needs

This is the premier venue for Smash Bros tournaments in Dallas where all the local talent comes to play every week in Melee, Smash 4 and PM. Would highly recommend coming up if youre interested in competitive play, the tournaments are very well run and they even stream matches.If youre not interested in that, they also have a huge collection of games across all generations that youd have a hard time finding anywhere else, so this is also the place to go if youre a retro game junkie.

Cleaned up my dusty PS4 and got it running like new again. Bought a ps2 for an amazing deal. They have awesome promos and good people. They can fix just about anything. Not many places like this in DFW

The owner likes to hide behind their values as a store. I called on the phone about selling an xbox 360 (s) that was in near perfect condition with 1 controller and all cables and the employee said I would get 30 bucks 55 at most, and I was happy with that, when I get to the store I am told it will only go for 25 dollars and wasnt given a reason on why I couldnt get 30$ I sold it at the time but I now realize that it wasnt right. There is a clear lack of communication between employees. Another time I went there I tried to sell a copy of Persona 5 for the PS4 and was told that there was a scratch on the disc and they would not take it, even though they have repaired many of my ps4 disc is the past to get rid of 1 or 2 scratches, I sold it to my friend and it works perfectly with the 1 scratch. I was thinking of buying their highest tier membership but I cant say that Im 100% sure anymore. Every time I walk in there, i get disappointed when I see reprinted labels, when Ive reprinted high quality ones on my home printer, and that they put the fx games logo and message on the back, it never looks good and ruins the quality of the effort that went into making some stunning box arts.
