Friendly enough and was asked if I needed help 3x while there. I was buying a stem robot kit and was looking at metal detectors. The stem robot kit was fun. They only had 3 detectors of the same brand. Lots of different genres.

Fun place to get your little kids and big kids interested in something else besides their phones! New favorite place for the family.

Finally found a spot that sell legit RC vehicles! First official RC and super excited to use! Definitely worth it. Prices dependant on user desire. Great customer service. Greg was very informative and took time to answer all of my questions. Highly recommend this place!

I feel like hobby shops like this one are getting harder and harder to find - my kids love to come in here for the STEM/kid centric crafts and projects, toys, and to look at all the cool models on display. Check out the massive train set/model thing they have on display, its truly impressive. They seem to have a bunch of models/RC/collectibles for those adults who are into it. Big store, good selection, nice people.

This place is awesome. Great service. I crashed my car on day one. The repaired it for free even though it was my fault.I paid 5 dollars for the part and they installed it. The have a great stock and a great team.

This place had every thing I was looking for. I thought I would’ve had to go to multiple stores but hobbytown had everything seriously. I went their for stuff to complete a miniature project I was working one which I needed some acrylic tubing, some glue, cutting tools, cutting board, and sandpaper. They had it all, reasonably priced and in some cases, cheaper than Amazon. It’s a niche store but that’s what makes it fun :)

Ive been so far to 3 different hobby towns. I primarily go to hobby town for gundam model. I used to go to the Dallas location because its closer but I am now seeing myself more and more visiting this location. Everytime I go there I leave with a model. However I did have a small problem before, I called the store to check availability of a certain model, the man who responded was trying to answer me as quick as possible just wanting to get over the call, I had more questions but he hung up. Other than that, staff is great.

Figured I would check it out, since Ill be moving to an area closer to this store.This one is not as big as the one located on Mockingbird Lane, but they still had a good selection of merchandise.Sadly due to the rude dismissive gentleman who rang up my purchase I will not be patronizing this store in the future.

Pretty much your average hobby store. Employees are kind of rude, but honestly that is par for the course. Ive found that employees of stores like this tend to be a little elitist. But it was a fun store to walk through.

A great store of which I have bought many rc’s from. My main issue of complaint is the single individual who works behind the Rc counter, little older with long hair. This guy has horrible people skills and will not give only but one person at a time his attention when there is 5+ people looking for assistance. I interrupted him to grab me a new truck in box to purchase and he said I would have to wait. I was literally there to buy and leave. I didn’t have any questions to ask just needed something off the shelf. Had I asked him for questions I’m sure he would have told me to come back another day. This has happened on more than one occasion. Not giving the store a bad rap but they could use a little attention to their people/sales skills to keep customers coming back.

Love this location. They usually have whatever weird thing Im looking for in stock more often than most and the staff is helpful.

Great store for model train hobbyists! This location has a lot more in its trains area than other HobbyTowns Ive visited, both in terms of landscaping items and for actual trains. Theyve got a really cute layout you can look at as well.

Went in today with a million? About buying an RC plane. Gentleman at the back counter helped me out. I ended up going with a carbon cub s2 .. haven’t flown in 7+ years. This plane was perfect. 4 successful landings so far.. Thank y’all.Edit- Flew this plane multiple times today. This store will fill you with nostalgia with every aisle. Could spend hours here. Definitely would recommend.

I love going to this shop. Im like a kid in a candy store. From cars to trains to planes and ships. There are so many models available for all skill levels. If you like RC toys there are plenty to choose from. My favorites are the Gundam kits.

I found out the hard way that not all Hobbytown USA locations are owned by the same people. I live in Allen, Tx., I’m 5 miles from Hobbytown Plano and 19 miles from Hobbytown Lewisville and Dallas locations. I drive to the Lewisville or Dallas location without hesitation due to the incredibly rude service at the Plano location. The younger, heavyset, fella has a chip on his shoulder and has no business in a customer service position. There’s nothing at this store we can’t find on Amazon and have at our doorstep in 2-3 days. I enjoy shopping local when I can because I know it’s good for my community. However, no one should tolerate rude remarks such as those I’ve received and witnessed at HobbytownUSA Plano. I’d love to give them my business again but not until this changes.

This is hands down the best Hobby Town USA store I have ever been to, and Ive been to several throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. The staff is super friendly and willing to assist and direct you to what you need. When they realized they didnt have what I was looking for, they directed me to another store in the DFW area that may. The shop is exceptionally clean and well maintained, with products for far more than just RC hobbies. Everybody should be able to find something they enjoy in here!

Ive always shopped online for my Slash parts because well, prices are cheaper. Not anymore. Prices at this place are about the same as they are online, plus youre supporting local business. They generally have stuff in stock, just call beforehand to check. Will continue to support this Hobby Town location. Cheers.

Most shady business i’ve seen in years. If you have to shop here, order online and do in store pickup, their online price is always cheaper compared to in store price (basically the store just mark up everything by 10%-30%)which they are not willing to match, in stead i was given a speech about “our website is a different entity, i know it sounds shady but we are not trying to be.” And “ you can order store pick up but when you come pick it up you will still be paying for store price” thats when he lost me, like, how are you gonna charge me a different amount when i have a receipt in email? Also, whenever someone is telling no he is not trying to be shady, trust me, he is trying to be shady. Just buy online and pick up in store so they cant rip you off.

I bought a Camaro 1969 rc lasted for 5 minutes an started to smoke an I took it back an got another one lasted for a while and it won’t go backwards an whenever I turn off the control it starts going by it’s self they said I could take it back to get my money back and they didn’t want give me my money.

The Plano location is the worst Hobbytown in the DFW area. I have had several bad experiences here. I have been sold the wrong parts despite having specific part numbers for them and they dont even know what they have in stock most of the time. I havent had any issues at any of the other stores. This place sucks.

One of the better hobby shops Ive been to. One of the only ones that actually sell gundam models. There models range from high-grade to perfect grade. They are always willing to help.

I went to spend my money in a brick and mortar store versus online, was told they require masks to shop. It is their choice to require it or not but its also my choice where I spend my money.

Kinda rude actually. Times are tuff for everyone spending money is scarey nowba days and I drove out from mckinney where I live right next to traxzus. Nothing was any cheaper than at traxxus headquarter and you think they could at least be polite there.

Such a great place to explore. RC vehicles including planes and drones, railroad EVERYTHING, snap together models, toys, gadgets, puzzles, competition yo-yos for crying out loud! Not to mention an amazing staff of incredible knowledgeable guys to walk you through every purchase if you need it. Prices are fair as well.

Totally miss the one in my neighborhood... but kinda glad it is gone because I probably would never have come to this one... and this one is MUCH better than the one in Arlington. The gentleman who I always see on Thursday is so sweet to my granddaughter and he is genuinely kind and helpful to myself and my husband.

This is the coolest toy store I’ve been to around here! They have toys you don’t see in big stores, and that’s the awesome part about it! It’s not the same ol, same ol. I could be wrong, but I believe the manager is the buyer for the items they carry and bravo! 👏 👏 You chose the coolest, most unique things for your store, it’s fabulous! Keep it up! There’s always something new and fun when we go. This location is much better with a much larger selection than the Lewisville location.

We received really helpful advice from a store associate about additional supplies we might need to build a model car.

Bought my son a 250.00 dollar stamped for his birthday. He has had it two week and the wheel broke. Brought it back up to hobby town. They were very rude from the beginning. They had a set up where they fix things when you bring it in. He gave me the part and walked away I then asked can y’all fix it here? He said yes there is a labor fee and he would find out how much. Then he popped off and said it only takes 10 mins. I said I didn’t know how to do it and he said to find the video on YouTube. After spending this amount of money in this store and then to be treated like this, they will not get anymore of my business. Then when I told the guy up front the MANAGER he just looked at me and never said a word! Be aware of this store!!

If managed my business similar to the business model utilized by the Hobbytown in Plano, Texas Id be out of a business shortly.Id post a zero if it was an option. I bought my fourth $550.00 Blade Fusion heli yesterday at this location and it turned out that the unit has a defective speed controller I uncovered this morning. I tried to return the heli for an exchange, however I was denied the transaction since I didnt bring MY OWN DX6e transmitter or MY OWN battery which were not purchased from here. Its a Hobby store packed with radios and batteries! yet the staff wouldnt bother. I left several messages for the store manager Pete Zelner with no responce to date. Its not about the money, its the principal of the matter. Im just going to accept the loss but never shop at a Hobbytown again. Honestly youre better off buying directly from Tower Hobbies or Horizon.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My wife got me an r/c truck for xmas. I needed/wanted to upgrade parts and when I went into the store there were employees too busy with their own conversations to help. Then I found a man behind the counter towards the back of the store. I thought perfect started to tell him about what I was wanting to do then with his most condescending tone Ive heard in years basically said I had a pile of garbage and when I was ready to spend 6oo bucks then he could help me. I will NEVER make the mistake of going there again!

They have AMAZING products and they are at fantastic prices - I was like a kid in a candy store. However, I was really put off that the man running the store didnt knowledge my presence in any way, it was not busy at all and I was in there a long time before I called my husband to come in and look at things. He only spoke to my husband when he went up to the desk to check out.

Very friendly and extremely helpful when looking for a gift for my husband. I do not know anything about drones, but they set me up with exactly what I needed to give him the perfect birthday gift. They also keep all the extra parts in stock, so it will be easy to get replacements when needed.

I only go there when I have no other choice. So many things unmarked price wise and website is completely useless. You would think that with so many businesses adjusting to online ordering/curbside pickup that they would take the opportunity to update their technology. But, store inventory is never up to date, paints don’t have color swatches and it is organized very poorly. Sad, but true.

Anytime I go here the employees are rude, unhelpful and dont take proper time to care for their customers. The one in Lewisville is way better.

Went in on Black Friday to look around. That had a RC plane in stock that I wanted but noticed it was cheaper online. I asked if they price matched and he said only if it was the manufacturers website. I checked the manufacturers website and they had it on sale as well so I showed it to the associate. He seemed a little taken aback and walked over to his computer and started looking it up. He then told me he can see the manufacturers stock and they were backordered which means he doesnt have to price match but offered me 10 dollars off. That wasnt even close to the sale price so I told him I would just get it online and he said bye. Seemed like he went out of his way to deny the price match. Ill probably never visit this store again.

It has the full offering of a typical Hobbytown (trains, model rockets, rc vehicles, etc.), but my visits pertain mostly to the RC section of the store. The guys that work in that section are both knowledgeable and friendly. They have a pretty darn good selection of parts, tools, and vehicles. Id also say that if one is a beginner in the hobby, the employees here do a great job of making it not intimidating.

I just bought my second RC car from these guys and I have bought several upgrades throughout the past year or so and they have always treated me like a valued customer. On top of that, they almost always have the parts in stock that I need, and 99% of the time they are cheaper than what I would pay for it online somewhere else. If I ever have a question about something, they always answer it, and if they dont know the answer, they find out for me. So I gotta give the guys at this Hobby Town 5 stars for their service, price, and personable service.

Good selection of RC products. Boats, crawlers, cars, drones, planes, and helicopters. They have lots of other stuff kids and adults will like. This is a great place to find gifts for that hard to shop for loved one.

Sent my son to pick up an item for resale and they would not accept my valid tax ID certificate, even though all the other locations do and have. I argued with the guy for 20 minutes explaining to him what a tax Id certificate was for. He said he looked it up and it wasnt valid, which was false. I then sent him an email with the correct link showing the Id was valid and after a 30 min. debate finally used it. I will be calling the state comptroller about this issue.Update, I found out they still did not accept the certificate even after I showed them the evidence that it was correct. Cant wait for the state comptroller to get ahold of them.

Great place to get a lot of cool hobby stuff.. only real drawback is they seem to bump the prices up a bit compared to other local competitors. All in all I like coming here.
