Yikes. Wish I could leave a better review, but my experience was just.. not great. First of all, Im a woman in my 20s, and I feel like I definitely would have been treated better by this business if I were older. Jackie was very condescending and treated me like I knew nothing about gold and its value because Im on the younger side. I knew things were going to go poorly from the beginning; I came in with three vintage rings, stating to Jackie I have three solid gold rings in 9k, 10k, and 14k. She replied with Well, just so you know, SOLID gold is actually pure 24k, but its too soft to make jewelry out of, and these are lower purities. Yes... I know. Im obviously using the term solid gold to differentiate from plated/filled jewelry. She went on to offer me basically scrap value even though she would be reselling (offered just $200 for ALL THREE) and even told me prior that if she were to buy, she would probably sell one of my rings for $250 by itself. Is this lady serious? Two of the rings are over 50 years old and all are in great condition. All together the rings are worth at least $500. She acted like my rings were worthless because they werent adorned with precious jewels. Never coming back here to buy or sell. I would have been better off selling to a scrap gold buyer, to be honest.
Its not often that one finds a place full of unexpected surprises as vintage fountain pens from the golden age. I have visited Barrons jewelers for several months at downtown McKinney, and it is a great experience every time I am there. They always make sure that your experience at their store is a great one ... if you are browsing or looking for something specific. I would recommend anyone in downtown McKinney to take the opportunity to experience a visit at Barrons.
Barrons is a very interesting place to shop. So many things to see! The people are friendly and helpful. Prices are good and the merchandise is truly unique!
