Considering all the things going on with COVID and shortages of staff, I think this is the best place to get glasses in town. The prices are pretty reasonable going from basic-low budget frames to more high end depending on what I want and need. There is a large selection and styles to choose from and I always get discounts on my frames.The staff is always so helpful and make me feel welcome and I also get my glasses done in about an hour so there’s no need to come back the next day to pick them up!

No real fault of the employees. They are doing the best they can. And I appreciate that. I am however disappointed that they didnt listen to my request for single vision. And made progressives instead which I cant wear. They are remaking them but the whole reason I went here was that I needed more glasses the same day. I broke mine. I have to wait another week. So it brings me to well Over 10 days wearing a 10 year old prescription. Im dealing with headaches because I cant see. No one can keep employees or hire higher quality employees because no one is able to pay anyone a working wage. Ive waited two weeks for my glasses. Their phone system didnt send me a text. Bad rap music playing in the waiting room rude customers that cut in line. Ive been to this location 7 times and I still dont have my glasses. I want a refund !!

I have not updated my frames in a few years and was really nervous when I walked in BUT Emone and the other staff came to my rescue!! A big THANK YOU to everyone for being patient with me while I tried on over 10 pairs and asked for EVERYONES opinion!! With the GREAT deals I purchased 4 pairs and 2 of the pairs were ready same day. Walked out very satisfied and will definitely be coming back. I feel ready to conquer the world in my new frames!! THANKS AGAIN 🤩

Update 09/20/21 Customer Service was prompt in contacting me and apologizing for their error. They have given me the appropriate discount plus a little more for inconvenience. Changing my review from 1 star to 4 starg.I have bought at least 5 or 6 pairs of glasses from Eyemart. Went in today to buy new frames because one broke. After my old lenses were in I offered to buy another set of lenses to put in an identical frame I had bought from them. So bottom line is that I was offering to buy a full new pair of glasses. The told me I would get $60 off. But because it was a two step process they refused to give me a discount and told me I would have to take the lenses out of the frames I just purchased, do a refund and start over after waiting an hour already. Never had such a bad experience with them especially me being a very long term customer. It appears they just did not want to do the paperwork for me to get there original offer of $60 off.

Wonderful location with knowledgeable staff, but they seem to be severely short staffed. Everyone that is on the floor and working is pleasant and wonderful work with. But there are often so many people waiting they have to rush and be yelled at in front of customers. Christie helped us and was phenomenal with me and my daughter!

Arrived right after opening to purchase glasses. Was advised that glasses would be done around 3 since they are simple plastic lenses and easy to cut. Since I live 45 minutes away I wasted 5 hours in town. I had not received my text yet, I stopped in and was advised that they would be ready on Monday. Aggravating. The truth needs to be told upfront.

Very efficient and kind. Love the fact that if I arrive early enough, my glasses will be done the same day.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. My husband needed glasses, we waited for 1.5 hours before leaving. No acknowledgement from the 2 women working, not a hello.. hi.. welcome.. nothing the whole time we were there. The phone rang off the hook the entire time, while they completely ignored the calls and customers in the store. After waiting so long, I checked the sign in sheet to see where we were on the list, one of the woman crossed our name off and had helped 4 other customers after us. DONT go here, TERRIBLE customer service!!!!

We have been going for a few years but the last few months have been terrible. I called every day for a week multiple times a day and not once did someone answer the phone. My sons glasses were supposed to be ready today mind you we ordered them 3 weeks ago and they were still not ready that wouldnt be an issue if maybe someone answered the phone.... I understand everyone has a staffing crisis but when you go there at least 8 people are working not one person heres the phone?

Eight weeks I had cataract surgery on my left eye. Four weeks later had surgery on my right eye. Today the ophthalmologist gave me my new prescription and I headed directly to Eyemart Express. The store was fairly business but I only waited about 5-10 minutes. The employee bent over backwards to get me the best deal she could. When I got ready to leave she mentioned that one of the machines has been down all week, waiting for a part. She indicated that it may take a little longer for my glasses to be ready but I would be able to get them today. After waiting about two hours I called the store and was informed that my glasses wouldnt be ready until next Wednesday I am so disappointed as I was not told this from the very beginning. I could have gone elsewhere. Very dissatisfied. I have been a regular customer at the store for many years. Not sure if I will be back.

First, the Optometrist gets 5 stars-she was awesome! The store however was not. I spent almost $600 for 2 pairs of eye glasses (no eye insurance) and a pair of prescription sun glasses. They mistakenly put my computer prescription in the sun glasses instead of the distance prescription. So I had to wait another week, get up early on Saturday morning to beat the crowd, drive an hour round trip and spend 40 minutes in the store while they cut the new lens and put them in the glasses they made me take home. Couldnt they have kept the glasses and fixed them BEFORE I picked them up? And they didnt offer me anything for all this inconvenience that was THEIR mistake, so I asked for a large bottle of spray cleaner. The girl said she could only give me the tiny bottle that I get free whenever I buy a camera lens. Seriously? Well then, all I can give Eyemart Express is 1 star. See how what goes around comes around? Id advise people to shop elsewhere.

The manager seems a little irritable and overwhelmed. Im not going to judge based on that, theyre short staffed and really busy right now!! One of the girls that helped us seemed a little scatterbrained and got irritated when my husband wanted to switch from buying regular glasses to sunglasses it for so complicated he said screw it. We ended up having to come back the next day to get my sons glasses (no fault of theirs)Christie ended up helping us the next day and she is Amazing!!! My son has a difficult prescription with bifocals and she made sure we picked out a frame that would work well with his lenses. She also let us know about a deal my insurance had that we werent informed of the day before and saved us enough money so my husband was able to get regular glasses and sun glasses. If you go there definitely see if shes available.

The doctor was very thorough with my exam. Everyone was very friendly and willing to help you. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely wonderful experience overall. Make sure you have the time to wait to be seen though!I originally became frustrated because theyre a bit short staffed here and you will wait quite a while on talking to an associate about fittings and checking out. I was short on time both times I went into the store (though in retrospect this was my fault for not planning more carefully in advance) and got irritated and walked out. Cedric immediately called me to make amends and get me checked out ASAP. I took him up on his offer the second time since circumstances allowed me to pick up the glasses quickly at that time. He gave me a discount to apologize in addition to squeezing me in quickly for the inconvenience.I have to make it clear that Cedric is an amazing manager. While working with me he really was concerned about making things right and wanting me to be satisfied. He really does care about the business and his customers. Ive honestly never seen any manager care about this as much as him and its worth mentioning this aside from the main interaction. If you do purchase glasses here, you will not be disappointed.The store itself is small but has a decent selection of frames to pick from. The staff takes COVID precautions seriously and as a result the store is near immaculate.

I have gone there 3 times to get my eyes checked and to get new glasses. All 3 times they have been amazing. They are kind and helpful. Last time I went they adjusted my moms glasses free of charge. A lady named Katie helped us and she was so kind. Me and her had a great conversation about our favorite music artist. She was so amazing and helpful. She really deserves a promotion. If you are considering getting your eyes checked here you should.

I called to schedule an appointment for an eye exam. I know I had been seen at the Eyemart express in Portage Mi. for some reason they do not have my information, but do have my daughters. I bought 4 pairs of glasses when we were there that day. The woman on the phone basically called me a liar. And I know one person doesnt make or break a business but I will never go there again and neither will my children

Got right in for exam, after that I had to wait almost 3 hours to be waited on for glasses. Very upset and angry. I will never do business there again.

After going other places, and cost was extraordinarily expensive, it was nice to go there and breath at nearly a quarter of the price elsewhere, plus a friendly staff.

We had a wonderful experience. Great customer service from the manager and lab tech! There was an issue with my glasses at first but they took care of it and threw in some extras for our trouble! You cant go wrong with this place! We will be back for sure.

I went into Eyemart for the first time this weekend to get an adjustment for my glasses. Additionally, I had cracked polarized blue lenses in my brand new Ray-Ban‘s but the frame was still quite intact. I jokingly made a comment with the staff about needing a miracle to repair my sunglasses. The manager went out of his way to look for a solution and fortunately they were able to get me a huge deal on new polarized almost identical blue lenses! It was meant to be that I walked into Eyemart. I will be getting my exams, contacts, and lenses here from now on because of how wonderful my experience was. I was helped immediately, my sunnies were ready within the next hour, and we had a lot of laughs too! Thank you all at Eyemart!

I had a very good experience at my local Eye Mart, greeted, Eye Dr and staff were excellent and patient. Store staff was patient, helpful and thorough. Store was very clean and procedures followed perfectly! One pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses were provided in just over an hour, terrific service, highly recommended!

Went in Portage Eyemart Express on July 3rd. Sales associate and Manager were both knowledgeable and helpful. The lab technicians were able to make me two pairs of glasses by 6pm. All the staff there are awesome it was a great experience and a great place to get glasses

From the time I walked through the door it was a wonderful experience. I was greeted by Jean and she helped me pick out my frames we picked on my glasses I got sunglasses and she fitted me with everything and it was a very smooth transaction. Approximately one hour later I had gotten two different texts for each of my glasses and they were both ready. When I went back to the store they were absolutely perfect. I put them on and my eyes felt adjusted right away. She did a great job with the measurements. I would highly recommend this place. Fast efficient and a great value and courteous staff.

I had to get my first pair of glasses and went to another place to get glasses and was completely sticker shocked. I thought there is no way I can afford to get glasses on my budget. But my sister luckily recommended Eye Mart and it was the best decision I could make I walked away spending $20 and have a new pair of glasses. Weve shopped at the one in Rapid City South Dakota for years and now in Kalamazoo Michigan.I enjoy the experience each and every time. They have a great staff consistently and fast service I mean really fast like that sandwich place. I prefer Eyemart Express to anywhere else Ive gone.

Wonderful service in the optometry department, the receptionist is wonderful and very sweet. In the eye glass department the woman helping me was amazing. So knowledgeable, and truthful about the different frames on me. I was happy coming back to this store and will be returning for my contacts soon!

Very friendly, professional, i was on limited budget, but the young lady [ Alexis ] found a way to help me get 2 beautiful pairs of glasses for $299.00. Blue and red, 😁. but most amazing was they had both pairs of glasses ready for me in 23 minutes!!! Unbelievable !! its the only place I have bought glasses in 10years. Im visiting from outoout of town and lost my glasses in Gull Lake. The opomitrist there was booked way out, but I was able to get my script from my doctor. Eyemart staff were super nice and I was able to get a replacement pair of glasses and sunglasses for a good price. My glasses were done 18 minutes after I left.

Eyemart Express, and Portage Family Vision Care work amazingly hand in hand with each other. Dr. Katie Simon was efficient and explained everything! And Jean helped me with my insurance and finding the right glasses. After the past few years being disappointed with glasses and service from RX Optical, Meijer Optical, and Sussex vision center. I will only go to Eyemart Express.

They were helpful and kept in mind what my budget, was. In less than two hours had my eye exam and my glasses. Also, they made it a point that the glasses I picked were in my budget and ones that I wanted.

The employees at EyeMart Express in Portage MI are amazing. They were so sweet and friendly with my four year old daughter. She even got an adorable hello kitty case with her glasses! And, They were done in just 26 minutes. I get my glasses there, as well, and they are fast, efficient, and courteous every time!

Great people to work with, wasnt able to get in to get an eye exam for a couple days, got an eye exam somewhere else and brought them my script. Wasnt even 30 minutes and I had my glasses picked out and made for me. To top it off it was 4:10pm and they closed at 5. More than willing to help me out in a pinch. Will definitely use them again in the future.

I absolutely love my new glasses, all three pair. They were so inexpensive that I bought everyday glasses, glasses for when Im on the computer, and sunglasses all for under $200. I highly recommend them. Oh and I got them all the same day, how awesome is that.

Lost my only pair of glasses and did not have a week to wait for another pair. Had my prescription faxed from my previous eye care facility, they had received it by the time I arrived. Picked out 2 pairs and they were ready in 20 min! (They did say it may take up to 2 hours so dont assume it will be 20 minutes.) Friendly helpful staff. Very impressed.

I purchase two pair of glasses from them on a Saturday at a great price. With ln an hour and a half I had my first pair and they fit and looked real nice. Sent the second pair out for coating came back and they fit and looked really nice too. There service was great, people were great. I will go back, and I would tell friends and family to go try them. Great prices, they take a ton of different insurances and they confirmed my insurance coverage while I was there. My glasses, due to progressive lenses and anti-glare had to be ordered, but I was happy to wait because they are first rate!

Ive recommended people to them quite a few times. They are super friendly and helpful. We came in and Janet had helped us this go around. She was very informative and helped to give us the best deal between the 2 savings offers we had. She helped me choose 2 pairs of glasses that I really love considering it’s hard to find a pair for my face shape. She was very honest on what looked good and what didn’t. I recommend eyemart for the nice glasses and selection. And i highly recommend Janet. Eyemart has been my go to place for a long time now.

Going into this store most closely resembles the helpless feeling one gets when entering the Verizon store.When we entered there was nobody behind the counter. The staff were all 100% occupied, no numbers to draw for a place in line, and people kept walking in visibly looking to get in front of obviously waiting customers. My wait was around 45 minutes.Once I got assistance, the technician who repaired my frames was very efficient and courteous. If there were a sensible queue in this store or a dedicated counter person, my review would have remained 5 stars.

I love my new glasses. Can’t beat the price. I was paying double the price at another well known optical store. In the past I had to wait days to weeks for a new pair of glasses. With this experience they were ready in 30 minutes. Need glasses now? Go to Eyemart, I believe you will be very happy with your experience.

The prices are awesome, the staff is amazing, specifically Page. The building is clean and well maintained and the selection of glasses are some of the best in Kalamazoo. I was very satisfied with the service at Eyemart. It was a exceptional experience and the staff were great. They even got me early before my appointment time and spent a considerable amount of time helping me pick out my glasses and fitting them to me. I will recommend Eyemart to my friends and family.

Be careful if you shop here. While they have a beautiful selection of frames, same day service, and an optometry office inside the store, they may try to rip you off and at least certain employees have no problem lying to your face.I came to buy eyeglasses, and they lied to me about what my insurance covered (or were incompetent in looking my plan up). When I came back and asked for them to fix it, they lied about how much I should be refunded. I ended up having to go through the receipt item by item, with my insurance carrier on the phone, to get my refund. They also applied more expensive options (the premium protective coating rather than the standard which would have been covered by my insurance plan, additional warranties) without clearing it with me and refused to refund those items. Plus they kept cutting me off or outright telling me to be quiet when I tried to discuss the matter with them.When I first came back with questions about the charges, I was inclined to be charitable, that it was just a mistake, perhaps by a new employee, especially as the staff had been very cheerful and seemingly helpful on my first visit. But the rude and IMO unethical way I was treated at my second visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I will be avoiding them in the future. Even if my experience was not the norm (it was my first time shopping here), I would advise others to be wary. Bring a copy of your benefits with you and ask for an itemization before agreeing to anything.

Couldnt ask for more caring people than the folks at this store. Beth and Leslie spent a great deal of time working with me in order to get new glasses adjusted perfectly. They are so friendly and helpful in this store that you feel like you are their only client. I cannot praise Beth and Leslie enough for their patience and professionalism, as well as assuring me that they would work with me until I was completely satisfied. I am very pleased with the service I received at the Portage EyeMart Express.

I used to go here all the time . I haven’t lately because the last lady was pressuring my 13 year old to get thinner lenses and he’s already insecure about having thick ones. Also they NEVER have replacement frames.

Had an eye exam and bought two pair of prescription glasses on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Exam was very thorough. Selected my frames with the help of Leslie, and I cant thank her enough. Her expertise and good taste helped me pick out two pairs of glasses that I love. Eye exam was at 1:15 in the afternoon and glasses were ready to go by 4:30. Great service, great glasses and all for half the price I paid for a single pair of glasses (not including eye exam) at Pearle Vision.

Had a great experience here. Great selection of frames, I had two pair of glasses with progressive lens made in 46 min. I have let everyone I know who is looking for glasses know about this place.

One person said they accept meridian and another person said they didnt...but other than that, they have a decent selection of fairly priced frames. Im happy with mine, and they were done in like 20 minutes.

Great service, fast, affordable and they give a 30% military and veterans discount. I will be back for another pair again. 100% the best place in town for glasses. They cant be beat.
