Accommodated my Asthmatic son with the mask policy. he was able to breath his whole appointment, and wasn’t singled out and able to get his contacts! will be back for sure!!
I was a patient here before when it was vision point and stayed during the transition. They showed me the insurance benefits, explained what would be covered, gave me a copy of the itemized statement and a copy of my scripts right away without asking. I had a wonderful experience. Received my glasses within a week. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!
My elderly dads glasses needed repair and the people and Dr Szabos office basically refused to help him, so he ended up walking into MyEyeDr. to see if they could. They told him that he could leave them there and theyd call him when they were finished. They called him after only 20 minutes! And when he went in to retrieve them, they told him that they had noticed the cheaters he had been wearing were crooked and asked him to bring them in amd fixed those as well. ALL FREE OF CHARGE! Makes me happy to see such kindness still exists!
My glasses which Ive had for 6 years broke recently, so I decided to schedule an appointment with this location to update my prescription and replace. After a 2 week wait, finally got in to have my eyes checked. Optometrist was helpful and very pleasant, unfortunately her name escapes me as that was the ONLY positive of my experience.I then ordered lenses and frames. Price was very reasonable for transitionals plus lens thinning, almost suspiciously so. After another week long wait, I was informed my glasses came in and made an appointment the next day for a fitting and inspection. Immediately upon putting on my new glasses I noticed a very visible distortion in the center of the left lens. I even double checked it with both eyes to make sure it wasnt a fitting issue. To make matters worse, the associate who was attending to me, an woman named Noriska, attempted to gaslight me into accepting the imperfection, blaming factors such as my astigmatism and current prescription (which is only .25% different) for the issue. While further inspecting the lens she became more and more exasperated over my insistence in the issue, without even bothering to double check them herself at any point. She reminded me of a petulant child being told their homework was incorrect, I dont think Ive ever seen such unprofessionalism on display at any retail outlet much less a medical related one. Finally after continuing to stand my ground on the issue, she reluctantly agreed to have the lenses sent back to the lab and checked for imperfection. So, this is where we are now in the review. If the lens issue is corrected and an apology is offered Id be more than happy to revise this review as other than my negative experience with this obviously disgruntled individual my experience was pretty decent (aside from the long wait for the appointment). That being said, dont try and gaslight or bully your customers into accepting flawed products just to get them out the door... its REALLY not a good look.
Great, between the start and finish .Dr.Zabaneh, Noritsa in front and the other staff.Hold on...Extremely exceptional would describe my latest experience. I had reservations about some changes in merging companies but I can say there were no issues. I will be coming back and I encourage all to visit for their eye needs. Dont reflect on any harsh ratings and dont rush to criticize. This is a good business here in Portage. Thank You MyEyeDr. for a good job!
Run and go the other way!!! If I give give zero stars I would. The only saving graces to that place is the sweet person who helps you pick out glasses. I think her name is Erica. She has outstanding customer service. Each time, I was there she was the only person on the floor. The other staff members was smoking or standing around. The staff is unprofessional. They had to remake my glasses two times.Neither time they did not apologizing.I spoke to the manager, she wasnt helpful. They have lost my business. Once they change managers and train their staff, I will be back.
Portage location is lacking of everything except having pleasant doctors. I got glasses for my son and myself and paid for a protection plan for my sons glasses. In January, my son broke the frames and I brought them in. It has been a month and I still havent gotten them back. Just the frames needed replaced and they cant even call me to let me know what is going on. They couldnt even put any information about my sons glasses being dropped off in the chart or what is even needed fixed. And if it wasnt for me calling I wouldnt have an idea of anything because no one seems to communicate with anyone else or me. This has taught me to read reviews next time so I know not to waste my time.
Dr. Long was so thorough with my eye exam, and patient with me. With her and the wonderful, friendly and helpful front office team I feel Ive finally found a good vision center in Porter County. Special thanks, too, to Erica and Morgan for making the experience that much better. I went back to buy another pair within a week. Thanks, VisionPoint Portage!
Needed to pick out frames for a new pair of glasses. They scheduled me 15 minutes before closing time, so I show up there, after getting a confirmation text from them, and after calling them to confirm that I would be there picking out frames, and they tell me there was a miscommunication and needed to reschedule. These kind of things happen, but they didnt even apologize for wasting my time on a Saturday afternoon. My previous experiences here were much better but the employees now are unhelpful, and incapable of scheduling a simple appointment.
Severe lack of communication at this establishment. They marked my glasses as being picked up, which I never did. I called three days in a row and was met with, Well let our manager know each time. After the third day of calling with no progress I came in to speak in person. The manager had no knowledge of my issue and continued to ask if I was sure I didnt pick up my glasses, as if I was trying to get a free pair from them. After an additional week and a half of waiting, I called again to see if my glasses were ready. I was told theyve been in store waiting for me to pick up for days; I was never notified that they were available for pick-up during this time.I received my glasses that day with still zero explanation of what happened with my first pair, and zero apology. Low and behold my prescription is incorrect on the new pair. I do not recommend purchasing glasses from here. The optometrist(s) here do their job well, however the customer service is lacking.Visit a website like eyebuydirect or another online retailer and get your glasses for 10% of the price.
Ive dealt with people my whole lifetime in some capacity of customer service. From hotel management, to starting out being a food server. I can tell you these young girls are a breath of fresh air, after dealing with not such good ones at other establishments. Kathleen, Crystal and Erica, not to mention Dr. Z were welcoming, accommodating, and highly knowledgable. Crystal and Kathleen took extra care with me and I truly appreciate it. Ill continue coming because of these great young ladies and their dedication to great customer service. Sincerely, Karon Vance Blevins
My first impression of the place was good, everyone was polite. I had to go to this big chain store for safety eyewear for work. (only reason I went to this eye Dr.) I had my eye Dr. fax over my RX (Eye Design best people & service ever) picked my frames out and was out the door in a flash. Three weeks later, and after calling a few times. I found out three weeks later they my frames eyewear would not be in till another week. And was then informed that my prescription was strong and would take longer. My gripe is, I couldn’t get a courtesy call to inform me that it would take a month to get my eyewear. That’s all I’m saying here. A simple call would of sealed the deal for me . Common courtesy, good business is not what this place has to offer . Mean while I took my son to Vision Works one week after I went to Vision Point . I picked his glasses up yesterday. I also had a framed warranted from Eyes Design a week later. ( has to order a new frame and lenses)Same RX,also a pair of Safety Glasses. And revived a call today that they are in .What gives Vision Point ?Will not be going back to this store again, and would not recommend this place to no one
I went for eye exam picked out my glasses got them back everything was blurry so they said the would send them back they came back a month later still cant see out of them they told me they would have to recheck my eyes made a appt on that day they called said it was with wrong dr so I made one for following week I got there and was told they never made me a appt after they called me so made another one and someone called me and said they dont even know why they are rechecking my eyes. this is the worst service and no communication Ive ever see needless to say I still have glasses I cant see out of
Nothing but good things to say. I asked for my prescription and they gladly provided it. I ended up buying my glasses there as well. They came earlier than was told which was great. The prices were slightly higher than say Wal-Mart. But I did feel the customer service was more knowledgeable so just that was worth the added cost.
Terrible experience. Went back after years and wish I would not have. The first time my glasses came in I told them I could not see out of them. Was told to wear them for a week and see. Went back in to see dr and was told that when they ordered them they screwed up. The second time I still could not see out of them. Told me it was probably because they were progressives. I told them that is what I have had for years and never had a problem with them. Was again told to try them for a week or so. Went back in to see the dr again and had to be reordered again. They told me then that if I had problems this last time that there was nothing else they could do for me. Picked them up last week and still can not see up close. After spending way over $1000 for 2 pair of glasses and contacts I can not wear them. What a waste of money. Now I have to go somewhere else and pay again. Terrible way to do business. My daughters entire family goes there and they are going to go elsewhere also.
I went to Vision Point in Portage because of location and insurance coverage. I was helped by Nicole and Heather. I was thrilled that they were so knowledgeable and patient while I tried on frames. Their recommendation were spot-on and they were very friendly.
Love everything about this place. Especially the nice people they have help you. I always get my glasses here.
Not the best experience. Only good thing was the speed for my lenses. Not even bashing, just being honest.
My family and I have been coming to Vision Point for at least seven years. The two most recent issues have shown me there is no loyalty to their customers. Not only will me or my family never go back, but I will also tell anyone I know not to do business with them. The most recent incident involves being out of town and losing a contact. They refused to help me coordinate with an optometrist in another state and used the excuse that HIPA prevented them from letting me know the type of contacts I wore, even though I faxed a consent form to their office. I spent a weekend without contacts because they refused to help me. Think twice before spending your money at Vision Point!!!!
Wonderful staff, got my glasses in less than a week!!! Highly recommend
Leticia DESPERATELY needs communication skills. She definitely should not be talking with customers. Im going to award her rudest employee of the year.
I HAVE A LWAYS HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE . THERE IS AN AMAZING VARIETY OF GLASSES THAT ARE UNIQU.THE STAFF IS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXTREMELY FRIENDLY.I WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
I am very displeased with this facility. I was told that my trial contacts would be in within 5 days at the most. I found out over 2 weeks later that they had come in and that the postcard reminder for pickup was sent to the outdated address in my file even though I took the time to update my information before my appointment even took place. They also tried to call me as another reminder that my contacts were in, but - again - called a number that they pulled from my old information. What is the point of having me make changes to my paperwork if they arent going to update it in their computer system? I will never return to Vision Point in Portage and would advise everyone I know to avoid that place like the Plague.
The customer experience is amazing. My dog had just chewed up my pair of glasses. I went to the Valparaiso location where I received one of the worst customer experiences ever. I was going to buy a pair of prescription glasses and sunglasses. The portage location went out of their way to bring me every possible pair they could find that fit the style I was looking for. Without my glasses on I am blind! They were able to give their opinions on how they looked. The cost that people mention is typical with glasses and for someone that wears them 24/7 you get what you pay for. My experiences a Target and Walmart have been with frames that dont last as long, wrong prescriptions and more. Why was the customer experience here so great? My prescription was wrong. Without question they let me bring in my new prescription and immediately took my glasses and sent them in to get the correct prescription place in them. Zero questions asked and no additional cost. In addition to the wrong prescription the pair of Oakley glasses (not sunglasses) have given me fits trying to get them to fit properly on my face. Each time they helped me adjust them and never showed any frustration towards me. The manager helped tremendously. We are working on a deal where I can possibly get new glasses due to all of the issues I have had with these frames. There are very few times where I can say the customer experience was above and beyond. This was and is the case.
THIS IS REGARDING THE PORTAGE LOCATION / DECEMBER 2013They refused to give me a copy of my prescription after I paid for the exam. The reason? Otherwise you could buy glasses anywhere. I do believe they can get sued over this as eye prescriptions are medical records that I am entitled to.Secondly: they were bad with providing me the glasses I needed before I went on a trip. Many calls to the store and they promised to call back when the glasses would arrive. I finally walked in on the morning of my trip and eureka the glasses had been in the drawer. No call, no apology. I mean seriously. Then also: the staff will not help. These girls just stand around and chat with each other or have their children run around in the store. They will NOT address questions without them acting like you are disturbing them. Finally: the doctor was nice enough but my vision is blurry with their prescription. I took my insurance money elsewhere this year and got a pair that works from another provider. Avoid vision point for what I described above. Youre better off even taking the Meijer or Walmart shop than this bunch of franchised amateurs.
Great staff and great service but needs to update times on website. 😕
Not sure if the doctor got my prescription right. Fuzzy, blurry vision. I tried contacts. Went back to see if strength needed to be adjusted because I was not seeing well. I think things progressively got worse. Im going back to Walmart.
Told me they took my eye insurance. After exam and fitting they did not. Wish I could give -1
Go somewhere else that knows what they are doing.
When it comes to your child being on Medicaid, you are treated like you have no rights to question anything. The young man who talked to me treated me as though I were trash. I asked for a reminder in one year & he started to yell at me. Just so you know, PEOPLE WHO ARE ON MEDICAID ARE NOT LOW LIVES THAT DO NOTHING. Shame on you Portage location!!!!
This place braggs about cheeper glasses, BUTT ends up being 3 or 4 times what you pay at Walmart .Then when you break your glasses they cant fix just replace at 60 per cent off . Really can replace a arm or nose guard . Really a CRAPPY place to do business with.
Worst place I have ever been to in my life! NEVER AGAIN!!!
Rude staff and not helpful whatsoever.
Very please with the service.
What a wonderful store. The associates go above and beyond to help understand insurances and the Drs are friendly and helpful.
Scheduled an appointment a week in advance. Have the print out with date and time with the address and the dr. Name in front of me. They say they dont have me on the schedule and their booked. Ask if I would like to reschedule. Nonchalantly saying, sorry about that. Will not reschedule with them.
