Found most of the items I was looking for and needed on everyday cooking. It would be better if they have more fresher options for vegetables.

We live 120 miles from Portland. But as Asians we really like to drive down there only to shop there. The market has basically all the Chinese stuff you need. They also provide the meat that are hard to get anywhere else in Maine (like pig feet, chicken paws, chopped ribs, etc.). The owners are really nice people. To be honest they are the most elegant Chinese market owner I have met in the US.

Well organized Asian market with frozen food, canned goods, tea (including 5-lb bags of jasmine and oolong!), noodles, condiments, frozen food and some produce.Looks a lot like an Asian market you would find in a Chinatown. Mom and pop operation, and reasonably friendly (went out of their way to help me find white pepper).Store has an on-site parking lot.

I do love coming here to shop. Especially because they have bakery goods from Boston on the weekends. The only reason why the don’t get a 5* from is that they are NEVER open on time. The hours would be posted but they would be at least 30hour to and hour late opening. I have on many occasions get there and the employees would be sitting outside waiting for the owner to open the door. Not only that but the don’t do expiration date check. So if you buy package goods from here make sure to check the dates.

I love this place. They have the best coconut milk. Also, there are many great food items to browse around. We purchased some cold deserts/sweets and really liked them. This store has a wide variety of frozen foods. I love frozen pork dumplings! On Friday, they cell pastries from the best Chinese bakery in Boston. Highly recommend.

This is pretty much your typical, almost proverbial, Asian food store; with goods imported from all over Asia. Teas, noodles, Japanese candy, chop sticks, vegetables, frozen fish and a million and one more unpronunciable items packed into the busy shelves. Want some Durian-flavored cookies? Right here. (But dont open the package in the car.) Weird Macha candy from Japan? Seaweed? Fried fish skin from Hong Kong as a delightful afternoon snack? This place has it and a thousand items more. A must stop for us when where in Portland.

We stopped by here on a whim and it was well worth the trip. They have spices significantly cheaper than Hannaford’s and have a great stock of oils, rice, noodles, etc. We’ll definitely stop by here again!

Found what I was looking for good place to shop

You Must Check the EXPIRATION date. Bought a seasoning on 9/22/19, got home, saw the seasoning was expired since December 13th, 2018!!

This is the best Asian market we have found north of Boston. There is a decent selection of many Eastern Asian cuisine choices and a great selection of frozen food. Weve been to a few others in the Portland area but we often didnt find what we were looking for. Since Hong Kong Market had everything we wanted, we will preferentially shop here first in the future.

Out of the very few Asian markets/stores in Maine, this is my favourite and, in my opinion, the best of them all. Any Asian worth their mettle gets their ingredients, appliances, dishes and other foodstuffs here. Prices have unfortunately gone straight through the roof because of tariffs on imports, but its still worth the money to get all the best quality items.

Awesome little Asian market. I come here frequently to re-stock on staple items such as soy sauces, curries, noodles, etc. Very reasonable prices, great selection of fresh and frozen items as well (the frozen dumplings are awesome, they have a bunch of varities). Always worth a stop if youre in Portland.

I love this store but just make sure to check expiry dates as they have items that are already expired & yet still on display.

Best Asian market in town. Great variety, lots of freezers with animal parts that look totally foreign to a western eye - always a good sign. No frills or terribly friendly people, but I wouldnt expect that anyway.

Great always has a good selection of fresh Chinese and Asian greens and hard to find cooking items.

Love this store, I was able to find items here that arent readily available elsewhere. Even produce that can be found elsewhere cannot compete with Hong Kong Market prices. Staff very friendly.

I love love love this place! Always has what I need, prices are good, and the only place I can find baby bok choy! My only issue is they often open late, sometimes up to a 1/2hr past their posted opening time. Has happened in several occasions.

Consistently fresh gai lan, mung bean sprouts (third the price and three times the size of Hannaford), tofu, pea pod shoots in season, etc. the original Asian grocery in Portland and still my preferred one. Veranda is a close second.

They have every type of Asian ingredient. This is a great place & the customer service is great!

Nice staff, lovely selection, great prices. I have recently become addicted to tom yum soup, and the soup starter paste I got here was DEE-LISH! Got the bean threads too, and various cans and packets and produce. Wish they were a little closer to me, but I will be back soon.

Amazing selection of all the frozen dumplings, lots of delicious produce items, so many good snacks, and dried noodle varieties galore.

This is our goto place whenever we need Asian food. We are Filipinos, and whenever we are craving for something from the old country, we come here. They carry a lot of Filipino products, from galungong, Tocino, longanisa, bangus, ligo, patis, soy sauce, maxx candies, rice noodles for pancit, Pinoy snacks and so much more. There are other smaller Asian stores in the Portland area, but they dont carry as much Filipino products as this one. If you are Pinoy...definitely check this place out.

Needed some quality red curry paste, found it and a lot more. All the noodles, sauces, rices and more you want for making some great food at home. Felt like I was traveling around Asia again.

They have friendly service (ask if youre not sure how to use an ingredient) and a large selection of products from many parts of Asia. They have awesome kimchi!

Tons of food to choose from that you cant get at the big name grocery stores in the area. We had a friend originally from HK guide us to many suggestions. Its so much bigger than it appears on the outside.
